12 Restaurants Around Atlanta Open 24 Hours (or Nearly)

"There’s not much more to say about this Atlanta-based restaurant institution. Atlantan’s know where to head for 24/7 smothered, covered, and scattered hash browns, waffles, and plenty of coffee paired with some seriously amazing people watching, especially into the wee hours of the morning. Some locations are no longer open 24 hours. Check individual restaurants for current hours." - Beth McKibben

Waffle House Closes 418 Restaurants Because of Coronavirus | Eater

"This Georgia-based, round-the-clock diner chain—beloved for its abundant Southern-style breakfast— temporarily closed 418 restaurants nationwide on March 25 in response to the coronavirus crisis, while roughly 1,574 locations remained open with many shifting to takeout. The chain is so rarely shuttered that its operational status serves as an informal disaster barometer used by FEMA, employing a three-level index that distinguishes full menu with power, limited menu often on generator power, and complete closure; former FEMA chief Craig Fugate has said that a closed location signals a severe emergency." - Jenny G. Where else can you see a business suit and pajamas sharing a counter at 3AM? The waffles taste like childhood, and the coffee could wake the dead. Five stars for authenticity!

Google
My friend wanted to show me his favorite fast food restaurant and we chose this waffle house because it was the closest. We were disappointed with the food and the quality of service.😕 When we arrived, we ordered a unsweet iced tea and a coffee. We had a Coke and a sweet iced tea. The waitress was annoyed at having to fetch us new drinks. In the end, we got coffee and water. The waitress was distracted by her phone and didn't hear any of my friend's special requests for the meal.🙄 We were treated to a super soft waffle, as if it was from the day before. We asked them to make us another one. It wasn't any better but just edible. The rest of the meal wasn't great. It's a real shame that they don't make any effort to improve the quality of the food and the service.

Google
This lady should not be working here. I can tell that mentally something is going on and she cant keep up. Shes having issues understanding tickets and keeping up with the kitchen. You can see that she keeps disturbing the cook asking questions. Management should definitely take a look into this.

Google
I ate at Waffle House my first time after being recommended. I'd say you end up with what you expect, a breakfast place that makes waffles. I was somewhat underwhelmed after all the hype. No complaints on my food or service.

Google
I ordered the pork chop dinner today and OMG they were the best I've ever had! Thumbs up to the cook and the cashier for assisting me! I will definitely be back 👍🏾⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

On a Monday evening around 6:15 p.m., I went to this Waffle House. Bryant, the lone employee, was an amazing chef, cashier, and host. While there were other customers around, he was open about the fact that he was the only one. He worked quickly and efficiently to prepare my two meals. He was friendly, relatable, and amusing. Even when I came into contact with two insects at my table, he was helpful and cleared my tab as well. I ordered two all-star specials, both of which included well cook & flavorful sausage, decent scrambled eggs, and unseasoned but mediocre grits. One blueberry waffle and one ordinary waffle. The waffles were little overcooked, but nothing a little butter and syrup couldn't fix. The bottled simply lemonade paired well with the meal. (The toaster was broken so regular bread was used) (Only took a picture of one bug)

Google
This location gets the simplest orders wrong every other time I come. The food is good when its made correctly but theres no consistency. They take your order, repeat it back to you, and still give you the incorrect order its crazy. The service is horrible and they make it very obvious they hate what they do for work.

Google
The food was hot and delicious. Loved the pickup window concept and the employees on shift were fast and polite.

Yelp
Was a good breakfast. Portions seemed a little light but service was quick and attentive. Good solid spot for a standard breakfast.

Yelp
You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a huge meal at Waffle House at any time of the day. I'm glad I arrived hungry, since my meal included a waffle, bacon, 2 slices of toast, scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns and orange juice. Everything was cooked perfectly. The bacon was the perfect level of crispy deliciousness. The waffle itself was just average, which made it the only disappointing part of the meal since the place is called waffled house. The rest of the meal was well above average. Staff was friendly, and I got my order very quickly. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Atlanta.

Aviounce C.

Yelp
Honestly, I recommend ALL waffle houses across the nation shut down. This is just getting pathetic. If y'all don't wanna cook just quit the damn job. Y'all just be doing sh*t on that oven top. And why do y'all charge so much for "ToGo" orders?
google avatar

Lauren R.

Yelp
Location by Georgia state downtown campus. I walked in and ordered and had my food in less than 10 minutes. I was worried about being late to work but they were quick and efficient. Staff was friendly and kind. It was only 2 ppl working, server and cook. I ordered a chicken breast with hash browns and scrambled cheese eggs. My order was perfect. I'm not sure how this location handles long lines and waits. But I bet it gets pretty busy due to the location.

Yelp
It is Nov 26 48 degrees outside..48 degrees inside Waffle House Loganville Ga.. asked them to turn off the AC..nope...food was great..until the waitress took by bowl with grits in it as I was reach for my toast to mop up the grits.. she was trying to hustle us out as people were waiting for a table.. my mom and I will NOT be back..SAD

Sara P.

Yelp
Food was delicious and prices are very reasonable. I got the waffle combo that comes with eggs, bacon, toast and hash brown. Visiting Atlanta and looked up on the maps "breakfast near by" and the first spot to pop up was this one. It's the best feeling when you go somewhere you never been to eat before and the food is amazingly good. Staff was also friendly and hard working. Nice environment.

Yelp
Omg. I'm a huge fan of Waffle House, but this one is like a level of hell. I came in on a weekday at 12:45 to get lunch. Walking in, you are immediately screamed at by the waitress that they are doing carry out only even though there were three people seated and being served. Fine, I order my sandwich and coke. I pay and wait. Cue the parade of homeless without shoes coming in and being screamed at to leave. Cue waitress screaming at cook about the pending orders. She then started taking all the condiments and napkins off the table and said they were going to clean - um, good? The place was disgusting. 15 minutes later I got my sandwich - no coke. I didn't want to be screamed at so I left.

Yelp
Service here sucks!!!! 3rd shift hospitality is awful... Only help came when Walt the manager showed up at 5am... SMH bad business!!
google avatar

Timorris L.

Yelp
Even though it says 24hrs, don't come and try to order here late at night. I came after going to another Waffle House and they said the same thing. "We aren't taking anymore orders." This is at 5:20AM. I don't understand how they are running their organization.

Ellis W.

Yelp
The food was very good but the only thing for me is that the service sucked. Me and my group went and there was only 2 workers so it took mad long to get our food. But other than that their restaurant was pretty clean and the food was good but wouldn't recommend going at 7-8pm that's around when we got there
google avatar

Ashley J.

Yelp
Waffle House is bomb as hell. You might see a fight or two but we went every night/morning after going out in atl.
google avatar

Zach S.

Yelp
Waited over 45 minutes to order the entire order was wrong and the employees didn't care they need a new night staff running with two people that don't give a damn weather the food is right doesn't work

Yelp
It has been 2 months since the last review (posted below). After truly foul mistreatment, I never received a reply from Waffle House not management. We no longer acknowledge this restaurant when considering breakfast options. Shameful and unprofessional. Original review: I was the only person turned away from this restaurant this morning of a line of customers. The doors were locked when I arrived, I assumed to control the number of people going in, so I patiently waited among others until they could get to us. An employee came out, I asked her if everything was okay after several seconds of her just standing in front of the door and ignoring everyone. She didn't answer but asked me if I was there to order/pick up and I said yes. She then informed me, and only me (there were many other customers outside and inside) that the restaurant was closed. When I asked if it was closed for the rest of the day, I was told yes. I left to get my car from the parking deck around the corner came back to sit in my car and watched as she allowed every other customer to come in and be served. I hate to be like this, but I have to assume she was acting on bias to discriminate against me as I have had no other interactions with her to this point. I have no idea if the other crew knew of her actions, I did not interact with them. After watching all other customers served, I walked up to the window, waved and snapped a picture of her since I didn't read her name before. This has been a disappointing experience and unexpected from Waffle House. Luckily, Breakfast at Barney's just opened a few blocks away and was more than happy to serve me. I work next door to this Waffle House. I won't be back and I will be sure to let my coworkers know why. Also, the cafeteria in the state building next door is also a great option for anyone looking for food without petty nonsense.

Theresa R.

Yelp
I walked all the way from my apartment at around 12pm got there at 1pm and one of the ladies at the front register told me to come back at 2:40pm because they are closed when it clearly says that it's 24/7 opening time and there were a couple of people seated down eating when I got there. What Waffle House does that?
google avatar

Alana V.

Yelp
Just got to this location at 1:07pm and was turned away by the two female employees cause they're in the middle of shift change and won't start taking customers until 2:30pm....when they start doing that rule?

Yelp
So made the decision to visit the Waffle House near my building this morning instead of stoping at a bagel joint. Big mistake, this was perhaps the worst prepared waffle house meal I have ever had. For starters I ordered cheese and eggs bacon grits raisin toast with an orange juice. I first noticed something wrong when I saw the cook grab three strips of cooked bacon and lay them on the griddle. I thought to myself for sure he's not going to use all cooked bacon to serve to me I'm sure he's going to repair some fresh bacon. I looked away not really noticing because I didn't think that was gonna be the case but as I look back I still didn't see any fresh bacon on the griddle. Secondly as he was cooking my eggs after they were finished he turned to me and said oh yeah you want to cheese Dania so it is frozen back on the griddle and it's cheese now the eggs are over cooked. Then he starts scoop up the grits I could tell from where I was sitting at the grits were obviously lumpy didn't look fresh. As my meal was being assembled I said they're going should I say something now or maybe it's not as bad as I it looks maybe I'll overreacting so I just let it go. Unfortunately I should've followed my instincts it was just not a good cook. I didn't realize that the pandemic has forced Waffle house starts to start cutting corners and hiring lazy cooks. I will not ever let this person cook food for me again!
google avatar

Shaquita Y.

Yelp
Oh Waffle House. You never let me down. Compliments to the chef, Mike. My eggs were cooked perfectly which is actually a lot harder than It sounds. A typical order. All star special with cheese, instead of hash browns get tomatoes. There are like 4 spots in front of this location so maybe consider taking an Uber or preparing for a walk.

Veronica L.

Yelp
Terrible service and food. Asked for over easy eggs and got this hot mess... hash browns looked disgusting... obviously they did not clean the stove
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Well what can I say, when in Rome do as the Romans. Food is super yummy and super caloric and delish. This is the go to 4am spot after a night out.
google avatar

Scott C.

Yelp
I walk in at 630 am and was informed they aren't cooking anything until the next shift which is at 7am. The manager said the last hour they clean up but the 2 people I saw inside were just playing on the phone. So if you have time to play on your phone means you're done cleaning I can make some food which is what you're in business for.

Jungjin K.

Yelp
It said 24 hours, the employee cheated that it was closed. Reward me for wasting my time. I was mentally stressed. For a moment, I felt so bad that I felt an urge to do something I shouldn't do. Please don't go and don't pay.
google avatar

Angie S.

Yelp
Turning people away for "shift change". There are two people eating now (one seemed to be a friend of theirs). It's 1p and they won't start serving until about 2:30p. When asked what time they don't take customers they said "it varies". Must be nice

Dallas K.

Yelp
It's closed at undisclosed hours. They don't post these hours. They make them up and tell people it's closed when the staff doesn't feel like cooking even though they advertise 24/7
google avatar

Yelp
Always a great go to!!! WH for the win on any given day!!! Pecan waffle! Eggs scrambled with cheese and hash browns diced, smothered and covered! A lifetime classic!!!
google avatar

Bailey B.

Yelp
Literally the best Waffle House I've ever been to. Darlene was the kindest person-- I asked if they had unsweet tea, but when she said they didn't have it I just opted to water. We got our food within 5 minutes, ate in 15, then as I was leaving Darlene brought me unsweet tea to-go free of charge. She had gone and brewed a whole batch so we could have some! Such great service and great food.
google avatar

Yelp
I come here frequently, not because of the service but because the location is near my job. The staff aren't very welcoming. The restaurant is peachy clean. It's always pretty busy and lines are generally busy so it's hard to call ahead. I request three to four toppings on my hash browns and one is almost always missing. I went back once. Didn't bother any other time. That is one of the single most important things to me. When I spend my money, whether $5 or &100, I want to get what I pay for. It's hard to check my hash browns for ham when it's take out but I might need to have them verify before the food is bagged. The food is good. It's exactly why you'll expect from any other Waffle House.
google avatar

Caretta M.

Yelp
My sister and I came here for lunch on our last day in Atlanta. It's self seated, the people are nice, the food was good, and the food came fast. I would recommend this place to everyone.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
Came to Waffle House on recommendation and it did not disappoint. Great service waiter was fast and checked on us alot super polite. Thank you for a great experience.
google avatar

Shweta P.

Yelp
Omg easily the best breakfast place EVER. I'm not from the south but I dream about this place too often it's a little out of hand. It's so good and so cheap and the people here are actually really nice. I love love love it!!
google avatar

Yelp
I don't think I've ever been to a Waffle House that was bad. The only thing I would probably complain about is the bathroom or slow service?! But otherwise Waffle House is always on key and consistent with their meals. This Waffle House was located on Georgia State University Campus. My brother and I went on a Sunday early morning. We were greeted by the staff and was seated at the booth with no wait. They were slightly busy, but the server advised that they will be right with us. Only waited 5 minutes. Took our drink and breakfast order right away. It is a must for me to get their coffee, large order of the hashbrowns and waffle... no ifs, and or buts.... It's what I crave for every time I go. I also get the bacon and scrambled eggs as well. Breakfast came out right away... Waited 12-15 minutes. Of course when we got our meals, it was perfect!!! It was also a nice gesture for the manager to come around and ask how we liked our meal. This location had great service and the even the bathrooms were not dirty. I would come back again. Plus I noticed that they now put the calorie content on the menus. Useful information and good to know!! Next time I've got to try the Pecan Waffle... it's 510 calories, but I know I will enjoy every last bit of it!!!
google avatar

RD T.

Yelp
This is the best waffle house in Atlanta. My wife grew up on a small pacific island and had never been into a waffle, much less eaten at one. The three of us had the all star breakfast and it was amazing. I had grits, my wife had cheesey grits and my son had hash browns. My son and I had bacon, my wife had ham. This waffle house was very clean. The staff was very good, and the food was delicious. Keep it up!
google avatar

Drew S.

Yelp
Food was good, and don't get me wrong I LOVE Waffle House! But this waitress attached in this review is by far the rudest, most disrespectful, and childish person to ever work in food service. Doesn't acknowledge customers. Openly talks negatively about customers, and will ignore customers and talk to friends while we wait for long periods of time for different things. She should be fired Waffle House, y'all can do better!
google avatar

Perris D.

Yelp
Whoever owns this Waffle House is not doing their job. After seeing the dirtiest, least managed and outright childish staffed Waffle House I've ever seen, I'm pretty sure that I don't ever want to come back. The counters, floors and bathrooms were filthy. The dishwasher broke and they just pulled the dishes out and stacked them on the other dishes. They were making food and constantly throwing it away while people sat and didn't get any food for an hour. They don't do electronic ordering so they keep track of your order on paper and they do it inaccurately. They bring your food out as it gets done and it doesn't get done together. They argue with each other loudly and the employees don't ever consider how their actions effect the business. Leadership needs to fire whoever is in charge at night and hire a mature adult. Otherwise, they're gonna continue to lose money. Now that I think about it, maybe that's the purpose. The community should decide if they want businesses here that purposely lose money and provide bad service and food quality.
google avatar

Robin T.

Yelp
My favorite place to visit when I'm south of Philadelphia. Waffle House is a southern staple for late night eats after drinking or partying, or just being out super late. I've gone here at 2am after a night of partying and at 11am before a flight, and the food quality has never changed. Went to this location on a Saturday around 9:30pm and was able to find 6 seats at the counter which was a steal. I had the cheese eggs, hash browns, biscuit and bacon on the side. The eggs were delicious and the hash browns were amazing. This was my first time getting the biscuit instead of toast and I'm glad that I did. It is smaller compared to other WHs that I've been too, but food was great and one of the workers even gave my friend a cup of water to go without us asking.
google avatar

Allissa A.

Yelp
Convenient location for a Georgia State student but that's about it. The workers were not joyful or attentive, and I felt my food took longer to get out to me than at any other WaHo location. They thankfully got my order correct, but I didn't enjoy the environment in the establishment and would probably not go again unless I was desperate for Waffle House's food while on campus.
google avatar

Diana J.

Yelp
This is my first time at Waffle House. I got the All-Star Breakfast and the breakfast sandwich. The All-Star comes with toast, hash browns (or grits), two eggs, sausage (or bacon or Canadian bacon), and a waffle. It sounds like a lot but for me, it was not much. The sandwich was with egg, cheese, and sausage. The bread was way too dry. I was ripping off the crust bc it was too dry to eat. You can also get the entire breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu anytime of the day.
google avatar

Alis L.

Yelp
Surprisingly good and cheap. We had (skinny)steak and eggs (I am a steak snob) it was delicious and tender. The pecan waffle and coffee was really good too. The rest, grits, eggs, toast...all average. Very friendly service.

Kelsii D.

Yelp
I ordered biscuits and gravy and didn't get gravy. I ordered a hamburger and got none of the toppings, we ordered hashbrowns and got one hashbrown with ham and onion (which we didn't want), I ordered 2 ubers both of which arrived while my food was sitting on the counter ready and in the bag, and they wouldn't let me pay for my food. Which meant I spent $20 extra on ubers that night. And when I tried to call for an hour about the issues, I could NOT get a hold of anyone to explain it. I called 5 Waffle House franchises and none would answer. Needless to say, I am done with this company.
google avatar

Shyam S.

Yelp
I hope to God that this WH continues its great service and this is not just a new location sensation because this is a terrific shot in the arm for GSU and a boon for students who need late night nourishment (and entertainment). I mean really, is there anything more quintessentially Southern than hanging out at Waffle House, when you are inebriated or not, just to get some cheap, wholesome food in a fun environment? What makes this particular Waffle House rock is that it has a great, triangular layout because it is literally at the corner of two walls in the new Parker Petite Science Building. The booth cushions are in school colors and there is a lot of GSU art on the walls. I spent a few hours here the other night to get some food and studying done and I am so happy I have a new late-night spot near campus. The only downside is that it is kind of small, compared to other WHs, but it definitely makes up for that in sheer quality. P.S. Mad props to the city for providing about 10-cars worth of street parking outside (free from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.)

Monica B.

Yelp
Employees are super rude and everything is so slow! Every time I come here I'm disappointed. I once waited 10 minutes for a waffle while it was dead. Cook didn't even start my order. One of the few nice people who work there had to get them on it and it was done in another 4-5 minutes. Recently I came in to order a drink and the waitress barely acknowledged me. After a minute of me being in front of her, she decided to speak. I asked for a drink and instead of putting it in she counted tips/charged orders for about 5 minutes! Then put in my order and made my drink in the slowest way ever. 5-6 minutes for a tasteless watered down lemonade.
google avatar

Lucy L.

Yelp
It was very cheap! This was why we chose the place... The steak was okay... but the texture was hard to cut off. We ordered the medium. The hush brown was crispy, but the cheesesteak was so salty and so dry... The good thins is that you can refill all kinds of soft drinks!!
google avatar

Engin B.

Yelp
Place is very good! I came here for breakfast every morning during my trip in Atlanta. People are kind, quality was good, faster service. Breakfast was yummy!
google avatar

Phong T.

Yelp
This waffle house is one of the cleanest I've been to. It's connected to the Pettit Science Center at Georgia State University making it a VERY convenient place for faculty and students to grab breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks. Not going to forget to mention, coffee as well (although their coffee isn't the best, but it'll wake you up for class!). Service is friendly although wait-time can be delayed depending on how large the crowd is. Other than that, not a bad Waffle House.
google avatar

Toni R.

Yelp
Everything was spot on as usual. Grits were creamy, never lumpy. Pecan waffles were so delicious. This spot was so spot on after we left Escobar.
google avatar

Robert L.

Yelp
I don't get it! I eat at restaurants all over the Atlanta metro and find some of the best servers at this Buckhead Waffle House. How does a greasy spoon like this get staff to treat me like a person? They smile, get my order right even take a minute to chit chat. Yes the food is common but the service is impressive. Keep smilin' y'all!
google avatar

Madison C.

Yelp
worst waffle house experience EVER. my boyfriend and i came in at around 8:30pm and there were three employees and two of them had their backs to the door so they don't greet customers. of course we weren't greeted at all. we were the only customers there too. the waitress got our drinks and orders fine but not over the top service. I ordered an over easy egg and i noticed they were taking forever to cook even though we were the only customers there. I knew the egg would be messed up because an over easy egg shouldn't be cooked too long. after awhile, one of the employees came up and asked if I wanted a new egg and showed me the egg she made which were over hard. I said yes of course. As she's cooking a new egg, I knew my hash browns were getting cold. My boyfriend noticed that one of the friends of the employees was SMOKING A CIGARETTE IN THE RESTAURANT!! The whole time the employees were talking so loudly about very inappropriate things. the kitchen had waffles on the floor and had been stepped on. the most filthy waffle house I have seen. the food comes out and my hash browns are cold and slightly burnt and i asked for tomatoes and there were three pieces of tomato. only one of the eggs were over easy. No one checked on us or refilled any of my water. And when we walked out, no one said goodnight to us. NEVER GO TO THIS WAHO.

Chardaesia H.

Yelp
Staff exhibit a lot of patience during busy late night rush. Cedric and Linnie showed great customer service! I appreciate staff like them!
google avatar

Kim R.

Yelp
So much better than people lead you to believe. Honestly, I thought the eggs were cooked beautifully and the waitress was so attentive. Love the southern hospitality and honestly I loved the food. Make sure you add a pecan waffle to your order. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Lexi R.

Yelp
I love Waffle House. You cannot ever go wrong. This review is about their behavior. The service was fine. But they were loud, yelling and clapping about something and it was just plain obnoxious and with no consideration of the patrons. They were yelling like literally yelling from one part of the restaurant to the other. To make it worse they decided to mop while people were eating! Do they not understand how disgusting it is trying to eat your breakfast while smelling dirty mop water and watching them mop back and forth pushing this water under the table were you are sitting? Why do they think that is ok?! And they didn't use a bucket. Oh no. They poured the mop water on the floor with a cup..... So yes, it splashed everywhere. Disgusting. They need to get it together. My experience eating here was just disturbing. Go to the other one, at least they know how to run it without utterly disturbing their customers.

Yelp
As I walked to the library this afternoon, I noticed something different about my usual path down Piedmont Avenue: It smelled like bacon. The yellow sign lured me inside this shiny, new location, and I was greeted enthusiastically by the whole staff, Moe's style. They had no problem with me taking up a whole booth even though I was all by myself, and my sweet server kept the fountain diet coke flowing (which must be the cheapest fountain drink downtown at only $1.40). My waffle was perfectly crispy yet doughy, and I watched the chef make it in the giant galley kitchen on one of the eight (!) waffle irons they have all in a row. The servers at this location were all incredibly kind and gracious, and also surprisingly much younger than your typical Waffle House matron. Judging by the friendly conversations I saw springing up between servers and patrons, I think they pulled a few students from campus to staff Waffle House #1890. Though this location is practically under the MARTA station, there are also a few metered street spots directly outside the door. They're open 24 hours a day and my server told me Saturday had been their slowest day thus far. I think I found my new favorite Atlanta WaHo!
