A Quick Guide to Open Bars and Restaurants During Hurricane Season in Charleston - Eater Carolinas

"Waffle House will never let us down (except when it does)." - Erin Perkins

Why Waffle House #411 Is a Legend in Charleston - Eater Carolinas

"By outside appearances, Waffle House #411 isn’t all that special. It looks like virtually every other Waffle House in America — a yellow-and-black shoebox on the outskirts of town. The Savannah Highway Waffle House is different, though. It’s famous. Celebrity chef Sean Brock brought Anthony Bourdain here in 2015 to film an episode of Parts Unknown, highlighting the joys of drunkenly devouring pecan waffles and scattered, smothered, and covered hash browns. Stephen Colbert, a Charleston native, shot an episode of his late-night show here, too. He convinced singer Sturgill Simpson to record “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Knuckleheads” for the Waffle House jukebox. Good times have been had at this place. And that’s what you hope to encounter when you pull up here. But what happens at the Waffle House will be up to the 24-hour diner gods. Sometimes you can stop in here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and be greeted by a happy, smiling staff, the jukebox playing tunes, a regular customer tipping the entire crew just like he always does. The waitstaff, perhaps buoyed by that guy’s generous tipping policy and the looming shift change, gives you a friendly welcome, save for the one very tired waitress who sits down at the counter and rests her head on her arms. And when you ask if they still have cheesy eggs and raisin toast, which used to be your favorite, but no longer appears on the picture menu, the waitress says you can order it if you want. The vibes at this point are all-American diner — or perhaps all-Southern diner, because the Waffle House was born and raised in the South, where grits or hash browns come on every plate. The cook works the grill like an aspiring Rockstar Grill Operator, the name they give their very best cooks, the ones who have mastered the Waffle House short order system, which has taken down many a celebrity chef at the Charleston Wine + Food Festival’s annual Waffle House Smackdown event. At 1 p.m., the lunchtime staff cheers, celebrating the fact that they made it through their shift — several of them had started at 9 p.m. Friday night. This means they survived a post-Friday night bar scene, when the downtown bars disgorged drunkards looking for food to soak up the alcohol. No wonder the waitress is resting her head. She just lived through it. As you eat your breakfast for lunch, you look at the colorful photos of Brock and Bourdain and Colbert and Simpson on the wall above the kitchen area and think, wow, this #411 is a special Waffle House. And you eat your cheesy eggs feeling a part of it all. You swear you can feel the community. This is the place, after all, that stays open during hurricanes to feed the first responders and the folks who ride it out. But sometimes, on the way home after a night at the bars, the vibes are different. More defensive. The stools at the counter are blocked with plastic bags and Cambro containers. The four empty tables are covered in dirty dishes, and when you look expectantly at the waitress, hoping she’ll clean one of the tables off for you, she says flatly, “This section is closed.” So you stand around awkwardly, waiting for the other waiter to be nice and welcome you and clean off the only available table in the not-closed section. Which he does. Eventually. And you sit down, right beneath those pictures of celebrities having a blast at the Waffle House. As you wait (and wait) for your food, more people come in and stand awkwardly, hoping they can be seated. At this point, the fun photos seem to mock you. Yeah, good times were had here, but tonight, it’s just another late night at a Waffle House. You put a $5 bill in the jukebox to see if music will liven the mood, but it immediately shuts down, as if someone flipped a switch so they didn’t have to hear another dumb Waffle House song. You watch a rowdy crew of bar-goers walk in and be disappointed that no tables are available. You see a pair of sheriff’s deputies come in and scarf down a couple of hash brown bowls. Your food arrives, and you look at the undercooked-yet-somehow-burnt bacon on your plate and feel deflated. But you eat it anyway because what else are you gonna do? It’s bacon. And you’re at the Waffle House. You can’t really expect it to be perfect every time. As you leave, you notice the waitress has officially closed down the section with a chair barricade and is sitting at a now-cleaned table with her head down, resting. You can’t really blame her. You heard some grumbling about someone not coming in for their shift, and you imagine she’s been working since 9 p.m. the night before. So you cut her some slack as you leave the bright interior of the Waffle House and head home into the night, knowing you’ll be back before too long. Because the Waffle House is still special, even when your experience isn’t." - Stephanie Barna

Chef Sean Brock introduced Tony to the wonders of the Waffle House, the only place for late night eats in the area. They had pecan waffles, patty melt cheeseburger, green salad with Thousand Island dressing, thin-cut pork chops, T-bone steak, hash browns

Savannah Highway Waffle House Closes Temporarily After 42 Years - Eater Carolinas

"The Waffle House sitting at 325 Savannah Highway has been dark the past few days, with a dumpster out front, leaving many patrons worried. Most famously featured on the Charleston episode of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, the institution is championed by revelers for its quick proximity from downtown bars for much needed late-night hash browns. Do not worry though — this is only temporary. According to a sign on the door, the Savannah Highway Waffle House is merely closed for renovations. It reads: *[Ed. note: This unit closed temporarily during Hurricanes Dorian and Matthew] Eater Charleston will keep you updated on the opening of this legend, and leave you with our favorite exchange from chef Sean Brock and Bourdain’s visit to Unit 411: Brock to Bourdain on the Waffle House’s food: ”You don’t come here expecting the French Laundry. You come here expecting something amazing.” Bourdain, in response: ”This is better than the French Laundry, man.”" - Erin Perkins

Google
Can't wait to get here each trip. Amazing

Ovin Gamage

Google
It was not a calm and quite breakfast. The prices was decent. We waited quite sometime to get a table, even though it was not the off-season (February) and it was a Thursday. The lady server us forgot that we ordered waffles. To add to the inconvenience, our server forgot about our waffle order, resulting in a delayed arrival after we had already finished the rest of our breakfast. The food taste good and the prices are very reasonable.

Cody Eckles

Google
Very rude, very dirty! Sat for dinner, server asked what we’d like. I asked politely if she could wipe our table (it was very dirty). She was very rude. We got up and left. On the way out, heard manager ask what happened, she responded “I don’t even care”. We love Waffle House but this is the worst location in Charleston.

Robert G

Google
Legendary Waffle House of famed by Stephen Colbert and Anthony Bourdain. We were driving through Charleston but ate here twice. The server Julia is the best. Julia alone is worth visiting this epic Waffle House. We love Julia!

Peyton Kline

Google
If you get Lyric as your server you’re going to have an amazing day because she is a badass

Ashley Powell

Google
Asked for pecan waffle... she took my money. Gave me my food. I got a regular waffle. Asked her wheres the pecans? She then tells me they're out. Then she says they have no mayo...but the customer behind me got mayo. Also... you have to stand outside and wait on ya food after 11

Britt Scott

Google
Place that to go order. Everything was ready on time. No delays in pickup, and everything was as I expected from waffle house.

Robert Remers

Google
Swung by there on my vacation, there was a slightly older, black woman. She was beyond friendly beyond helpful and pointed out areas that were nice to see in the area and she just had a wonderful vibe one of the best waitresses I’ve ever had.

Yelp
Come here every now and then, good food, typical of Waffle House. The service is usually good, and the setting is that of a Waffle House. Nothing glamorous, but never had issues

Yelp
I'm not from the area but when I'm in the south Waffle House is a Must! Jamal and Kevin greeted me as soon as I entered into the resturant. They immediately cleared the table and took my order once I was ready........Food was AMAAAAAAZING! I ordered the grit bowl with a waffle a traditional southern breakfast and the prices are beyond reasonable. They gave me more than enough food and outstanding customer service. Honestly you can't ask for more. Kevin and Jamal checked on me several times while I sat and savored every bite. Forgot to mention all this happened during a marathon in Charleston so they were insanely busy. If you're in the area, this is definitely the location you would want to visit and hopefully one of these 2 guys are working. Thank me later. If what I experienced is the norm for Kevin and Chris they definitely deserve a raise!!!

Yelp
Can you believe this was my first visit to a Waffle House? Glad it was in the south. We wanted breakfast and this was nearby, so we traversed over here. Almost cut the line after spotting an empty table, but was quickly humbled and we waited our turn (~5 mins). Once our booth was ready, we perused the menu and made our choices. I went with the breakfast meal (no meat) and added hashbrowns and chocolate chips to my pancake. My eggs were fried over easy and came with toast and jam. Hashbrowns were delicious! Honestly some of the best I've had, perfect balance of crispy top and soft potato bottom. Prices were fair, lots of meat/pork options but substitutions are available. Definitely an experience coming here and our server was pleasant; the staff seem like they're having fun with each other and being a service worker in the recent past, I know what it's like and sometimes that's the best way to get through a shift! This spot didn't disappoint and I enjoyed my food.

Yelp
This restaurant will always hold a special place in my heart. This is where my husband and I went for our first date. We had scheduled our date after talking for a few weeks on the phone. We had plans to go somewhere else really fancy and well our work days were longer than expected and we were exhausted. We didn't want to cancel so we decided, Waffle House is good, who doesn't love breakfast! Clearly it worked in our favor. This particular trip half the restaurant was blocked off so we had to wait for a few minutes to get a table. We ordered right away and our server was on top of everything. Our food came out quickly and was prepared exactly how we wanted it. My only gripe was this was a Friday night and later in the evening so the restaurant was filled with teenagers after a basketball game! It was louder and more crowded than usual. This was by no means bad just not what either of us wanted when we were tired and had an hour and a half drive home.
google avatar

Josh S.

Yelp
I've tried to go here multiple times, and a staff is just sitting around, listening to music and tell you they're closed because they have to sanitize. I would avoid this location.

Brandon R.

Yelp
1 person working , dirty as shit. Slow. Embarrassing honestly. The food is always the same and decent but this place is nasty!

Pat A.

Yelp
We love Waffle House! But this one is over the top! Great service, including the greeter who took our name T the door, to the fast service and great preparation of our food. Nice location, easy in and out. Very clean, even in the galley kitchen. When we return to Charleston, we will be back to this Waffle House.

Susan T.

Yelp
Filthy inside and out, staff that were fooling around and awful food. Waffle House is fast casual, I don't expect much other than clean and edible. This was not either.

Sharon E.

Yelp
On our way out of town, great breakfast served quickly by upbeat friendly waitress. Eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, all just as ordered!

Robert M.

Yelp
Food: always good. Service: worst I've ever had at a Waffle House stank waitress confusing herself and trying to blame me. became the first waitress to not receive a tip.

Glenn M.

Yelp
went to the waffle House West Ashley on Savannah Highway three times before they got our correct cheese not melted old coffee before we noticed a large piece of saran wrap in our grits. I do not recommend this place then the workers there wanted to catch an attitude. I went to the waffle House and was served burnt waffles. Needless to say we walked out.
google avatar

Benny.mimi M.

Yelp
Yes! We just love us some waffle house. Never gets old - the dirty greasy menu's, dirty booths with the rude ass workers. Filthy over flow of waffle mix with the dirty rags food always delicious though can never go wrong with the Waffle house.

Madison V.

Yelp
I ordered an online pickup order with an order pickup time of 3:21am. someone took my order and I wasnt acknowledged until 3:45am. while I waited for my food, there were multiple people chugging from a bottle of what appeared to be Maligto vodka who then appeared to get into their vehicles and drove off. I didn't get my order until 3:58. The staff was kind but the customers in the establishment at this time appeared to be regulars who have no respect for others around them & steal orders.

Madison W.

Yelp
food was good. service was terrible our waitress had a TERRIBLE attitude. the workers were cussing loudly and being rude to one another. the place reeked of bleach. the whole floor was covered in it while we were eating. waitress gave me a spoon that had food still on it. she saw the food and looked at it for a bit and still gave it to me. we asked for straws and she got visibly mad. wouldn't talk or anything past taking our order. she asked if we were ready to order we said no not yet. she didn't hear us and looked at us me said yes or no like? and did a rude face. just totally unacceptable and overall a bad place to go. the only reason i give it a one star is bc the food was decent or else it would get a zero.

Betsey L.

Yelp
Have always loved this Waffle House in Charleston. Open 24 hours, it is a great late night stop after drinks downtown.. or a quick and easy stop for breakfast anytime of day. This was the first time we had been in since they renovated the building; everything was very clean, and everyone working was attentive and very personable. Our food came out quickly and everything was as good as it always is- hot, fresh, and unpretentious. Always recommend the pecan waffle!
google avatar

Lindsay G.

Yelp
I just had to eat at the same Waffle House that Bourdain visited on his trip to Charleston. Highly enjoyed my Pecan Waffles and Patty Melt.
google avatar

Ramon B.

Yelp
Placed order and sat there for 2 and a half hours waiting for food order that was never put in to cooks. Staff is so disrespectful and I had cops called on me for asking why it was taking so long for a pattie melt and and a all star meal. After getting order that was placed at 12:30 A.M @ 3.:00A.M order was missing waffle ham and was cold.
google avatar

Dale B.

Yelp
No one greeted us to tell us they weren't taking dine in ppl at the moment??? WTF no wait no nothing, we are not taking anymore dine in @ 1pm on Sunday morning and I drove from folly beach, how ever is running that joint needs a new supervisor or something, u basically sent me a 2 other families to I hop , great marketing,

Austin L.

Yelp
the worst experience at waffle house ive had they practically threw the food at my pregnant wife and the food was absolutely terrible. the service was terrible shift that was on 12/9/23 at 11:30 needs to be fired asap THEY ARE TERRIBLE all of them were rude and very disrespectful
google avatar

Teresa P.

Yelp
I have never been to a busy Waffle House that had a line, and the need to sign in. We stayed. The wait did not take that long. Here's the reason why. The staff worked as a team. When someone left, table was cleared right away, people seated, and orders taken. The cook was on top of it. Orders came out fast and correct. As people were eating or waiting, the rest of the staff was busy cleaning or refilling. Our waitress was wonderful. Had a smile on her face and even with my order, it was correct. Was very pleased with her service and attitude. Jacqueline (hope I spelled it right) is definitely a great employee. My only complaint or worry was the puddle of water that the employees had to walk through many times. Needs to be fixed so no one gets hurt. In a time when most people just want to complain I thought it would be nice to give a shout out to the little place that deserves it.
google avatar

Winlee W.

Yelp
Whether you want breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you can always come to waffle house for a quick bite at any time of day. Actually always get breakfast here because when I think of Waffle House I think of waffles or breakfast. They always have super crispy hashbrowns and are always super fast in getting your food out to you. I haven't been here in a few years, but the moment I saw it I had to go there. I got what I always do, breakfast, and it was cooked perfectly Never disappointed with this place. It is what it is. Cheap, fast, always open.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
I paid extra for toppings and did not get them. The waitress undercooked our waffle and left the toppings off our hash browns today. Besides that, the cook did a great job and even with the small issues. Our food was great. We ordered our food online and waited until our pick time to head to the restaurant, but we still had to wait 20 mins for our food. The restaurant only had a couple people sitting at the same table. We felt nasty after walking out, but I guess that's what makes Waffle House taste so good.

Richard S.

Yelp
If you love to wake up to the sounds of people who you "hope" will serve your food properly (over an hour waiting for a cup of coffee) while they are complaining about being out of dish soap to properly wash the dishes while additionally seeing sparks through the tiny window that lead to lead the mysterious back area fly while hearing a grinder back there cutting into the cleaning supply area this is the place for you! Furthermore, this is my forth time at this location where they forgot to serve me my order of bacon. Also, I sat there choking waiting for my coffee to be refilled. It was all topped off by my food sending me to the hospital
google avatar

Dave H.

Yelp
This location did excellent today. It was the 5th waffle house in the past week for my son and I as we took a South Carolina trip together, and it was clearly the best of all of them.
google avatar

Jo K.

Yelp
Eating a delicious and unique waffle right now at my closest Waffle House. The staff is super friendly and the spot is super clean. If you can safely navigate the parking lot off of Hwy 17, you can have a chill or a fun time, depending on your mood. Check it out today :)!!
google avatar

Lyndon D.

Yelp
Great price, always friendly service with great food that reminds me of my childhood. Whenever I go to the south I have to get my Waffle House.
google avatar

Charlotte G.

Yelp
I've been to this Waffle House on countless occasions over the years and it has never disappointed. When my friends who have moved away from the south come back to visit, we usually always stop at a Waffle House at least once and it's always a great treat. I usually get the bacon egg and cheese melt with a side of either hash browns or cheesy eggs. You can't go wrong with these. At my most recent visit, however, it was dinner time and I wanted something less breakfasty for once. I chose the double cheese burger with a side of hash browns. I've never tried anything other than breakfast from a Waffle House before but this didn't disappoint! The burger was very juicy and it came with two packets of special Waffle House sauce - something I'd never even known existed. It was kind of like a thousand island style sauce. Similar to what you get on animal style In-N-Out burgers. I love this kind of sauce so it was a nice surprise to see it at a WH. Overall I will continue to visit this Waffle House and other waffle houses in the future. It's always comforting to go to a place where you know exactly what to expect. Visiting them is a must if you're passing through the south, too.

Yelp
Love this place! Love the food! Perfect for our late night meal after a really really hard day!! Love these beautiful humans who work here! They are the real deal! Feels like home!

Yelp
Disclaimer: I'm torn about giving an establishment like Waffle House 4 stars because it's well... Waffle House but, the customer service experience I had there was unbelievably amazing. This review doesn't really dabble in eats but more so the staff who all deserved a raise for putting up with peoples shit or at least a high five. Here we go! Whoa! Shit got crazy at Waffle House last weekend. Went out to celebrate a friends new good fortune and ended the night by taxiing to Waffle House at 2:30 in the morn. I don't know why you'd go to Waffle House at any other time. The Taxi driver knew one of my cohorts so he came in to join us for 4th meal and even took us home after... 5 stars! Now back to the insanity... So we're having a regular old Waffle House experience aside from the fact that our waitress is already being a huge sweetheart, when from behind us, we hear this crashing sound. Sitting at the bar, we were facing the grill, when a guy standing outside the restaurant decided to smash the window behind us out for no apparent reason. Glass came crashing down onto the table behind us where two guys happened to be eating. Luckily nobody was hurt. This was a big window and glass was everywhere. Then the guy just stood there looking at everyone freaking out for about 20 seconds while he smoked his cigarette and then just walked to his car and drove away. Fortunately, someone got his plate number and the police came to take a report. Not sure if they caught the guy or not but, hopefully they did. This is when I became extremely impressed with the staff. Even with all the chaos going on, they kept cool all the while (I'm sure they've had a ton of practice). They cleared everyone away from the glass and comped the guys meals without question. My meal was just set down on the bar and they went ahead and remade the entire plate just in case glass eating... you know. None of the servers missed a beat. Most restaurants would close down for a week because of a situation like this taking place and clear everyone out of there. Not Waffle House. They kept on trucking and had the window fixed by the following morning. (Check out the pics too!)

Yelp
Located just behind the hotel we stepped in for a late Friday lunch and sat right away. Service, food and cleanliness was wonderful.

Robert S.

Yelp
Delicioso! However, I am disappointed at the head chefs egg placement. A basket of 30 eggs does not belong on top of the hot grill, do not order eggs or you will get salmonella! Also they be slamming shit around in here, too noisy.

Glen G.

Yelp
Big Ash was our server and she was great. Great attitude even though we had large group. Food came out quickly and was great. Thanks Ashley.
google avatar

JP P.

Yelp
If I go down south I garauntee you will find me at one of the many waffle houses... It is a southern staple and I love it.. I love the All Star Breakfast and have to get a pecan waffle... Don't be scared of the grits yes I said grits and just add salt, pepper, butter and sugar mix it up and its good to go.... We need a Waffle House here.....
google avatar

Masha S.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would. We walked in to the place to have some breakfast and workers didn't even acknowledge us as customers. We stood there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to look at us and at least say "will be right with you" IT DIDN'T HAPPENED. So we made the decision to leave. The worst place ever.
google avatar

Matt L.

Yelp
This is the Waffle House that both Anthony Bourdain and Stephen Colbert have visited. Trying food at the WH for the first time, I thought it was going to be amazing or something. In reality, these were probably way overly-inflated expectations of mine. WH is simply nothing more than an ihop or a dennys, equivalent to your diner style breakfast stops that you'd get in the North. The pecan waffle is actually really good here, but the pork chops are relatively tasteless, and rely on you using that special pork chop/steak sauce that they carry here. WH is actually not the cheapest you could probably get in any given location, but I think they do free coffee refills, and so many of these places are open 24 hours. This waffle house needs to be entered by the right side of the highway, so make sure you are heading away from Charleston when you want to stop by.
google avatar

Sedine S.

Yelp
After hitting up Downtown, food sounded good. Friends decided to go here. This place was a bit sketchy. People loitering outside. As I was entering, I heard a couple people say, "It's about to go down." And they were referring to my friends and I who were trying to get some food and not start trouble. There was one cook and our waitress told us that it may take a bit for our food to come out. That's totally fine. Food is good. Can't complain about service since there was maybe two waitresses total. Again, leaving the place, there were sketchy people loitering outside. One lady said she was assaulted by her husband and needed some money to get to Savannah. She then took off in a truck and went northbound. Isn't Savannah south of Charleston?
google avatar

Jacob M.

Yelp
This Waffle House puts out some of the best food I've ever had. I'm surprised this place isn't Forbes five stars or triple A five diamond rated. I'm amazed at the quality of this place. This location outta be right up there with Mccradys and Charleston Grill competing with best and most famed restaurant in the entire Lowcountry. A must stop if you're in the area. I highly recommend the texas bacon patty melt and pecan waffle. 10/10 incredible
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
Post storm breakfast! Not my usual first choice since I'm downtown and loads of places to go but not before a hurricane! The service was fast and friendly and our food came out promptly and hot. The quality was just what you expect from waffle house and that is one of the major pluses. You know it's consistent. I also appreciated the fact that they were open to feed the masses of evacuee's. Hash browns - who can say no to hash browns on a stressful day!
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
It's a Waffle House. Maybe if the waiter took his earphones out he would be more attentive. Waited far too long just to be waited on and the place was slow. Only one clean table as well.
google avatar

Brittany T.

Yelp
We always love the food at Waffle House. The service, though, was not as great. There were many empty tables when we arrived but none were clean and the waitress did not seem interested in clearing/cleaning them. Service was slow.

Pierson R.

Yelp
Best Waffle House of all time. I've been to many different waffle houses but have never had this good of an experience. Hash browns were perfect definitely eat here whenever you can.
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
Well, it's Waffle House. If you haven't been to one you really have to go. This was my first time and I feel I got the full experience. It was late at night and completely full, just like in all the jokes. The menus were sticky, tables were cramped, waitress made off-color comments... One of the other waitresses went in to kiss a customer on the cheek (I'm hoping he's been a regular for years) and he turned his head and gave her one on the mouth. Oh how they laughed. The waffles are actually good. Real good. Their prices aren't as cheap as I expected and the rest of the food was like 10% better than IHOP or Denny's. The final part of the experience that you will probably also have is when you get home. You'll feel a slight stab in your gastrointestinal area. Grab your phone before you go into the bathroom, you're gonna be there a while. That stank was easily in the top 10 and quite possibly the stankiest stank that has ever come out of my being (bearing in mind I don't remember what my diapers stank like). It's Waffle House. The jokes are all true. You're in the U S of A, you need to go at least once.

Aleksandra B.

Yelp
Wish there was an option to leave no stars at all. We had disappointed experience with this place. Walked in, no one even acknowledged us standing there. There was multiple tables available but needed to be cleaned. Unfortunately they didn't even bother to do that. So we had to walk out and give our business someplace else.

Sexbruise? B.

Yelp
This is a great wafflehouse! the staff is always super friendly and the food is great. great late night spot, and a great place to hang out and make friends!
google avatar

J P.

Yelp
I mean, one goes to Waffle House expecting Waffle House food, so I'm not going to speak to the food. It was hot, and made at Waffle House and booze likes to party with Waffle House food in my belly. I went in the middle of the night with my buddy, as one does. Our service was exceptional. I mean, I've had worse service at very nice restaurants. Glasses never emptied and coffee never cooled off. The staff seemed to be friendly with everyone and each other. Just a good vibe. I dare you to get the hash browns all the way. That's with everything. You will feel horrible, but you probably should. P.S. WH has a decent burger, too.

Michelle C.

Yelp
I usually go to this Waffle House and enjoy my meal this time they messed it up twice then talked about how bad I was for asking for the correct food
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
Worst customer service ever. Rude. Incapable. Out waitress was great, but her co workers: obnoxious, unprofessional, lazy, and simply rude
google avatar

Adam G.

Yelp
we don't have Waffles Houses up north so going to a Waffle House is a treat. Say you tied-one-on the night before and you are looking to shake off the cob webs...just order this magic cure: Double waffle, two TEXAS biscuits & sausage gravy, and a large cola. problem solved and you're ready for the beach...

Yelp
I came here 3 nights in a row (4/20-4/22) and I can't rave enough about this location. Every night I sat at the counter and had polite, quick and fantastic service. I remember I was helped by Ebony and Trina, as well as a cook with a ponytail. I'm from the west coast where we don't have Waffle House, and I have fallen in love with this location. On the last night I was here my waitress was also the cook. Having worked in the service industry many years I can't help but be impressed with the quality of serve here. Best Waffle House in Charleston!
