11 Great Sushi Restaurants On The Westside

"Since it’s in Georgia Tech territory on 14th, expect the tiny space to be packed with loud student groups. The tables, like their Emory Village sister restaurant, are pretty closely situated, so you’re bound to pick up conversation about some research project done with ChatGPT (we won’t tell administrators you cheated). The large Japanese menu offers everything from ramen to all the sushi favorites, even one with tofu skin, which mimics the texture of fish so your newly declared vegetarian friend can get in on the action, too. The rolls are a little better than run-of-the-mill, but the real reason to love this location is the attached Japanese convenience store, where we like to end our meal with those squeezable ice creams we ate that one time in Kyoto station." - nina reeder, juli horsford

Very nice service. Sushi dishes are very great. Fresh ingredients and nice plating. One thing was we ordered the ramen twice. The first bowl tasted good but the second was too salty and the noodle was not chewy. It didn’t bother too much overall. I like the cream soda very much. Highly recommended!!

We stumbled upon this place by accident — no reservation, on a Saturday at 5 p.m. Honestly, I expected to be turned away, but we were greeted with a warm smile and seated almost immediately. The service was outstanding — friendly, fast, and attentive. The beer was served at the perfect temperature (something surprisingly rare in Atlanta!), and the Rainbow Sushi I ordered was absolutely phenomenal. It instantly transported me to the Pacific — I could literally smell the ocean in every bite. It was incredibly fresh, made to order, and you could taste the care put into it. I haven’t had sushi that good in years.

Google
Delicious food and cozy atmosphere. The udon is delicious and the Katsu is as well. I've had their sushi, both vegan and regular, it's also good. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area and I keep coming back. Plus everyone I take here likes it too!

Google
A restaurant with downstairs grocery (?) and take-out (prepared, food) store. Had sashimi silver plate, which came with miso soup which was deeper taste but well-balanced than typical. In fact, I expected good quality food based on the miso soup done well indicates the level of care and thoughts of a place. As expected, sashimi was in general quite good especially the Hamachi (yellowtail). The size of the pieces were relatively smaller than typical - likely because the restaurant seemed to follow more traditionally Japanese style with minimal influence from local propensities, i.e., providing large or larger amount of order by other Janpanese and non-Japanese and non-Japanese restaurants. Even the decore (with partitioning betwwen adjacent tables) reminded of the privacy-oriented decore seen in Japan. Service was also "attentive without being intrusive," again representing the culture of Japan. It was an interesting experience overall though I was a,bit startled at the start of the main as a uninvited guest (fruit fly) flew out of the shredded radish below the tuna. Fortunately, I captured it before it contaminated the fish. Overall 4 stars as I would have been happier with a bit larger pieces of fish.

Google
For what you pay, the portions are fantastic! Nonetheless, I found the food lacking flavor and the interior too cramped. It is a good place for a quick bite, though, and the next-door grocery store sounds nice to visit as well.

Google
Five out of five experience! You guys have to try this place. The sushi was incredible ( we only ordered the special ones and all of them were great). Pricing is really spot on when it comes to this place. Service was amazing, waiters were always really aware of their surroundings, really nice and polite. They know their menu so were able to give out nice recommendations which I always ask and appreciate . They also let us made some changes to the rolls because my boyfriend does not eat cream cheese or spicy foods and were really nice about it ( PLUS). I really liked the place, nice and cozy. Feels kind of authentic even. Probably your going to wait to be seated because the place is small but it went by fast for us. Don’t really remember the name of the rolls but I know they were all the special ones So definetly order those, also the tokoyakis are AMAZING!!! Don’t hesitate to go

Google
We drove 2 hours out of town for this authentic dining experience in Atlanta! Nothing extra.. just delicious asian cuisine in a small cozy restaurant. We got the signature rolls -bagel tempura was immaculate! The fish is super fresh and price is great. I will definitely drop by next time and try the Katsu and ramen.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! I've been here twice now and each dish I've had is fantastic! It's a great meal that doesn't break the bank. I will definitely be back many times. Only tricky part is parking. Only a small lot behind the restaurant. We had to street park.

Yelp
This is a great spot in the Midtown area. With authentic Japanese cuisine and a matching ambiance to go with it. I can always recommend their curry and katsu choices, but you'll never go wrong with the ramen. My servers have always been solid, never any complaints from me since the store is small you are given much attention. Sometimes the tempura is inconsistently cooked but that is a minor gripe, maybe just me being picky lol. 7/10 great choice

Yelp
This is currently my boyfriend's favorite Ramen shop. I've been here 3 times now. Once, to the Decatur location and last year for my birthday. The parking lot is kind of small so be mindful of that when you come. The space is very dim so it makes it kinda hard to see. Our server was nice and everything came out quickly. We'll definitely be here again.

Yelp
The ambiance of this place is cozy and cute when you step in! We were recommended this restaurant by a friend and decided to try it out for my birthday since my favorite food is sushi. Sadly, the only good thing I can say about this place is the ambiance. The service was not great. I ordered a Diet Coke and got regular, and it took forever for us to get a different drink. We were not greeted when we sat down; we were just immediately asked if we were ready to order. The whole time it felt like the server was bothered by us asking him for anything. The food itself was also not good. I got teriyaki salmon and it was super dry and unseasoned. We also got the crispy tuna, and the rice was over fried. Additionally, I got the sashimi and nigiri and both were tough when they should just melt in your mouth. I'd stay clear of here if you're looking for good sushi.

Yelp
I haven't been to Wagaya in awhile and my trip there recently reminded me of how much I love them! It was a big group of us and luckily they were able to sit us. They were busy on a Monday night too. Parking there could be a pain but street parking is also available. It took us awhile to figure out what we wanted to order. Wish I got our server's name but she was super patient with us. We got a bunch of sushi rolls whose names I don't remember. For my entree, I ordered the hitsumabushi. It was beautifully played that came with a big piece of fatty eel and a heaping amount of rice in a stone bowl. They provided condiments of seaweed, green onions and wasabi. Plus the dashi broth in the most beautiful pot. I ordered since to get out of my comfort zone since I always tend to order sushi; this was definitely worth getting. By the way, we dined here to celebrate a birthday and I walked in carrying a cake. They charge $50 for a cake fee but they keep the cake refrigerated and provide serving utensils. We did not know this but opted to eat our cake elsewhere.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. It's right up the street from where I work. Got the tonkatsu and gyoza. The ramen was way too salty and the gyoza tasted like onions. I'm so disappointed. I had a craving for ramen today. I knew I should have gone to my go-to here on west peachtree. Oh well.

Yelp
Great, authentic Japanese cuisine! Many choices! Our orders were all flavorful and tasty! Our server was kind and attentive too!

Yelp
Decided to try Wagaya on a random Friday and I'm so glad we did! Quaint little spot so a wait may occur but it moved relatively fast for a Friday evening. My party of two was seated after a brief fifteen minute wait. The first thing that caught my eye was their amazing dinner plate deals. I mean, where else in Atlanta can you get two sushi rolls AND ramen for $25? It was such a steal. Sure, their rolls were the basic rolls but it definitely helped satisfy my ramen and sushi craving. I'm definitely coming back to check out their specialty rolls though!

Yelp
Food was standard and good! Nothing outstanding, but I love a consistent place. Pork gyoza (8/10): juicy, flavorful, wish they had a bit more of a crunch at the bottom! Takoyaki (7/10): octopus chunk was small inside, but good nonetheless! Yellowtail roll (10/10): loved the scallion addition to the roll, gave it a bit of extra flavor. Yellowtail was good, fresh. Spider roll (7/10): batter on the crab was a bit soggy, but very standard without too much rice in the roll. Service was okay, our waiter was not very attentive and I had to walk up to him to get the check. It wasn't really busy when we went, but they have lots of seating and can probably hold a larger party! Nice place to go if you want a quick fix of sushi near Georgia Tech at a reasonable, affordable price.

Yelp
I came here while looking for some Japanese food around downtown Atlanta. I did have difficulty finding parking, but I expected that from the big city. I ended up parking at a nearby parking garage and then walking to the storefront. I got their tonkatsu ramen (with chili oil on the side) and sushi meal set that cost ~$25 at the time of this review. It came with the bowl of tonkatsu ramen, a 6-pc California roll, 6-pc sashimi (salmon, tuna, and I believe yellowtail?), and a side of rice. I thought it was a lot of food for the price considering the type of food and the location. I definitely had leftovers after the meal. I thought the tonkatsu ramen was one of the best that I've had in a while. The broth was super savory, but not too salty. The noodles were well-cooked and the ramen egg was the perfect gel-like consistency. The chashu was pretty good too, but I didn't think it was as good as the other components of the ramen. The sushi was also super fresh. The meat held together very well and there was not too much fishiness to them. If I'm in the area and am craving some sushi or ramen, I'll probably come back again to try out another set menu!

Yelp
Y'ALL!!! If y'all ain't know, I'm tellin' y'all NOW! Amazing. Portion and quality was perfect. Service was immaculate. The vibe gave authentic Japanese. I felt like I was truly in a shinjuku establishment (read: authentic). The miso was GIVING. 10/10

Yelp
Took my mom and aunt here to celebrate late Mother's Day since they are not from Atlanta, and was really impressed with the food quality and affordable price! The restaurant also felt like you stepped into an actual place in Japan. I loved the vibe of the place! It was around 11:45 on a weekday when we came so it was during a lunch rush, which we understood, but the waitress who served us wasn't the most pleasant. I'm sure it was because it was really busy, but still thats not an excuse to be sassy. Took away a star for that and for the struggle of parking in that back lot. Minor things, but still overall good experience!

Yelp
You can find Wa-Ga-Ya at 339 14th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 just west of I85 - it's in the middle of a small line of connected storefronts. There's parking in the back - probably room for about 10 or so vehicles so during lunch and dinner times it's jammed up (people park on the drive climbing up the hill). We ended up parking along the street about a block away (easy walk) - the street parking appears to only be limited to evenings. Came here as a recommendation from my friend Chris who visits the Japanese market beneath the restaurant (more on that later). The restaurant is fairly small so limited seating - the day we went we stopped in after visiting the phenomenal Samurai Armor exhibit at the High (highest recommendation from me). We sat towards the front (the host stand was right behind me) - we were greeted and seated immediately. The interior has the usual Asian motif with exposed rafters and a finished ceiling over the sushi chefs The three of us went straight for lunch items and a couple of draft Sapporo - I asked for Asahi Dry but none to be found here. I sipped my wife's draft and it was surprisingly good (I should have gotten one for myself but demurred). As usual for me I sampled the spicy tonkotsu ramen (it was called "ramen + 2" on the menu and came with a few smallish rolls - California and crunchy salmon I selected from four available). The broth was very flavorful and noodles spot-on - I did find myself wanting a bit more chasu pork but otherwise quite good. My wife ordered what was basically a bento box (Nigiri Sushi Lunch - Tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp plus California roll and Tempura). My wife commented on how good the tempura was and after taking a bite I agreed. Chris ordered the Nigiri Deluxe and was also very happy with it, commenting on the freshness of all the fish. In all the food was very good and the service good (our server got busy so maybe not as attentive as he could have been - no fault of his). Beneath the restaurant is a Japanese market with many items chilled for immediate consumption - I have a rather great selection available to me near my home at BufHwy Farmers Market but did spot a few things that aren't available there (much more poki selection, for instance). Nice to be able to sample cold Japanese beers - we ended up not buying but now that I know this is here I'm sure I'll visit again.

Yelp
I love the location and the ambiance, but for the price, I expected Wagaya to be much better. The quality is not much different than any other regular fast-casual sushi place, but the prices made me expect a mid-tier restaurant -- not on the same level as omakase, but also not takeout quality. Unfortunately quality was closer to takeout. Especially obvious for the nigiri, where the fish quality (and the often overlooked rice!) is on full display. I would come back if a friend wanted to, but I would certainly stick to the rolls over the sashimi/nigiri (I think this is where I went wrong!) The katsu curry we had was also meh -- chicken was good, but the curry was just...plain brown sauce. No hate to Golden Curry cubes (if that's what this was!) but I like when there are potatoes, onion, or carrot added for more substance (which distinguishes a sauce from a curry, imo!) I heard the ramen was great, so maybe go for that. Service felt rushed, which I understand -- it's a small place, but we were asked numerous times if we were ready to order before one of our other members (who was just parking, not late!) had even sat down. On the plus side, food came out very quick for those who arrive hungry. TLDR - prefer Nagomiya (by the same group) over Wagaya. Quality and service style is better -- maybe a touch more expensive -- but worth it in terms of experience. Wagaya seems to be at this odd inflection point of not quite being a fast casual bar, not quite being a mid-tier restaurant -- and it just didn't work for what I ordered and expected! As always, ymmv!

Yelp
Extremely happy with my visit here service was kind and caring also helpful. The ingredients of the sushi is fresh and delicious. The portions size is also excellent and filling for sushi. I stopped in during a terrible thunderstorm and just had a great dinner. would definitely recommend it and come back!

Yelp
We arrived @ our hotel here in Atlanta and decided to. order some takeout considering that we got in the city around 7ish (pm) It was our first time ordering out here so we wanted to try out the local cuisine. We decided on Wagaya and was hugely disappointed for the fact that we did NOT get our entire order... so imagine our disappointment/dismay when we unpacked our order to find that we couldn't eat any of our food. All the food went into the trash... was NOT IMPRESSED by the quality of the food that arrived from the restaurant... I would rather have gone somewhere else than have wasted my money here. If I could give zero stars I would.
google avatar

Anthony R.

Yelp
Love love love this place. The food, the beer and sake selection, the service, the culturally authentic atmosphere, the upbeat Japanese rock and pop tunes... every time I go here I leave feeling better than when I arrived--and full to boot! I always stop by the attached Japanese supermarket afterwards to get a little snack for later (usually in KitKat form). Recommendations: Hamachi collar and the Matcha cheesecake.
google avatar

Nelys'ia B.

Yelp
Perhaps it was an off day. I was underwhelmed by the taste and presentation. I was really looking forward to it. Nothing I ordered wowed me. The customer service was nonexistent. The sushi fish was pretty fresh. The vibe was cool, pretty straightforward. Nothing over the top, but quaint and homey. I liked it.
google avatar

Abena O.

Yelp
Decided to try something new. Looking for more sushi spots. This one was pretty good. Parking can be an issue so be aware. There is street parking and a valet lot about a block up. It's a pretty small restaurant with a store downstairs. The service was fast and friendly. I order plum wine and when I got my cup it had lipstick on it. I know lipstick can be hard to get out of things so I just politely sent it back. I have always wants to try onigiri so we ordered that for an appetizer. I was disappointed with the amount of salmon on the inside. It was pretty much just a bunch of rice. The sushi we order was delicious though. Get the Three Jewels if you like basic rolls. Three rolls for $17 is a great deal. The Firecracker was my favorite.
google avatar

Yelp
Fresh fish. Love the lunch options and prices. Beautiful presented. Service was great especially since it was packed for lunch. Have been a few times before this and loved what we got every time.

Yelp
Came here with a group of family friends and thoroughly enjoyed picking from the menu. I wish it was zaishiki seating for a more in depth experience but the food accounts for a lot! I recommend this spot for some Japanese food.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim with my friends while we were in Atlanta and the food was pretty good for what we paid for. Everything was clean and our waitress was also very nice and accommodating! The only complaint I have is the onigiri didn't have as much filling as I would've liked in it but overall, I was satisfied. - Spicy tonkotsu: 5/5, broth was good & I could adjust how spicy I wanted it - Salmon nigiri: 4/5 - Grilled salmon onigiri: 3/5
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
The sushi and udon combos are perfect for a quick lunch. This spot is pretty popular so you may have to wait a few minutes for an available table during lunch hours. The udon was chewy and the broth was delicious. The sushi had great fish to rice ratio and the fish was fresh.
google avatar

Imani R.

Yelp
I really love this spot. I found out about it this week and I went back the next day. I haven't tried to many things on the menu but sushi I did have was so tasty. I got the hidden treasure sushi and the presentation was so cute and fancy. The environment felt real authentic to Asian culture. The bathrooms even had Asian comics all over the wall. Our server was super helpful. I was with someone who doesn't eat a lot of sushi and they were able to give some good recommendations. They have a lot of other things on the menu like ramen and curry as well.
google avatar

Mrg H.

Yelp
High quality sushi for a reasonable price, I understand why it was a 20 min wait the food is good. The place is quaint and the attached Asian market down stairs was really cool. I'm not a soup person but I tasted my husbands gyoza soup it was really good!
google avatar

Briana N.

Yelp
All of the food here is very decently priced and generously served! I ordered the udon and katsudon combo and it was like $18 before tax and tip. But it honestly could have served as two different meals. That being said, the food itself is good but not that special in my opinion. The udon was very typical, but still delicious. The katsu was really yummy. The egg on the meat added a softness and sweetness that I really liked. But the rice underneath was kind of plain. I ended up just using some of the udon broth on the rice. And I love the way they put chili powder on the side in a cute little container. The takoyaki was also good! The outside was nice and crispy while the inside was soft without being mushy or soggy. Overall, you'll get a good meal for a decent price. But it doesn't really blow your mind. But keep in mind, I only tried two dishes. I would love to go back to try out more food to make a more comprehensive verdict. And don't forget to check out the grocery store downstairs! It's very cute and has a lot of cool Japanese desserts and candy.
google avatar

Vincent V.

Yelp
Had this place bookmarked and finally was able to drop in. Two visits and while I enjoy the sashimi I don't feel like the other items are all that great. The Takoyaki was very flavorful but super tiny piece of octopus packed with dough. The first time I had a sashimi ramen combo. The Ramen was pretty bland the meat tasted like it was just placed in the broth, egg not that special and then the noodles were very lacking and would not repeat. The sashimi was good cuts of fish but kind of wish it was larger cuts. Then I came back a second time with my son and got a combo with teriyaki salmon and sashimi and the fish was super dry and very small. Not a fan and the sashimi was good like the first time. My son went with the spicy ramen and did not care for the noodles or the flavor of the broth. We had some nigiri as an appetizer and the quality was good but just not all impressed with the other options. Maybe 3.5 and I rounded it up to 4 stars.... lol
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
We were in the mood for Asian food so we decided to stop in. I loved the decor of the place, the wooden and tables and chairs were a nice touch. We ordered the four seasons roll, chuka dinner set with black garlic tonkatsu ramen and the traditional dinner set with chicken teriyaki. The roll was delicious - no complaints and would recommend. Loved the variety that the dinner sets offered! Everything was delicious and to be expected. The only issue I had with the chuka dinner was the karaage that came on the side - it was too salty for my taste. The side of rice helped with that though. Overall, I'd recommend this spot! There's likely something for everyone.

Yelp
Yum yum yum! This restaurant is tiny! I mean tiny!! So they do not do reservations be aware to wait. We arrived and there was 20 minute wait but 30 people outside. I guess a lot of people go in and out it was a mad house. While waiting you can go downstairs to their Japanese grocery store that has everything and anything. Highly recommend purchasing something different! Once seated it's definitely close to other tables but it's not bothering. The staff are friendly and honestly work their behinds off! I think only 3 waiters/waitresses but 20 ish tables and it was impressive. We ordered the pork gyoza and that was good just like your typical gyoza anywhere you go nothing different. The octopus balls I forget what they are called were our favorite! Usually there's too much of an ingredient in them but here it was well balanced and cooked to perfection. We also ordered two sushi rolls one was with shrimp and cream cheese it was a great roll and price if you like cooked food. The other one they caught on fire!!! It was wild. Overall the price and service are great and don't forget the grocery store.

Mayuran R.

Yelp
Loved the quiet, relaxed ambiance. Service was quick and friendly. Limited Gluten free options are available (including sashimi with gluten-free soy sauce), however all sushi rolls are not gluten free. Sashimi was fresh and delicious, the salmon melts in your mouth like butter. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
It was my first visit, a friend took me and what a great surprise. The food was very good, large portions and great quality. The spicy Tonkatsu Ramen was exceptional. Great very quaint ambiance and really good service. My friend had sashimi and it looked incredible and very fresh. He loved it and said the taste was amazing.
google avatar

Adam T.

Yelp
Best sushi for the prices in Atlanta. I go at lunch time and get the sashimi bowl and the yellowtail with scallion. The service is efficient and the ambiance standard.
google avatar

Fadi A.

Yelp
I won't lie, I still visit wagaya for quick sushi since I leave nearby. However, the quality of the fish is remarkably average. Would give 4 stars if the price was more in line with the quality. This place wouldn't survive in many other metropolitan cities I can think of.
google avatar

Kiah R.

Yelp
I usually order take out here and the sushi is always amazing. I ate inside for the first time, the restaurant doesn't have much seating so get here early if you'd like a seat or expect a wait. I got sushi of course but finally tried their Ramen, it is pretty good, not the best I've had in the area. Our server was great, parking is limited behind the restaurant and across the street at the Jimmy John's so if you need to, carpool.

Yelp
my favorite ramen spot in atlanta. delicious food and quick service. it also very cozy and dark inside

Cindy T.

Yelp
Wagaya never disappoints! They offer great combinations of quality sushi, bowls, and ramens at a super affordable price. I always leave here STUFFED and so happy. My favorite dish is their Tonkatsu Pork ramen. It's hearty and super rich. I love that there's a combo that comes with 2 sushi rolls for less than $20. During my last visit here, I ventured out and tried the beef curry udon and OMG - can you say perfect for cold weather?! I normally don't even like udon but the slightly sweet curry and crunch from the cabbage went perfectly with the udon noodles. It also came with a side of tempura which I was not expecting so that was a nice surprise. I love coming here anytime I'm craving some good Japanese food for a very reasonable price. Service is also always top notch!

Jiahui C.

Yelp
26$ for only one bite eel. Disappointed. Flavor no bad, but not worth 26$. It totally spoiled my evening after a tiring workday. Please stop fooling people (even at Fools Day).
google avatar

Loppy L.

Yelp
Food at Wagaya is always good! Definitely one of my top 5 places in Atlanta to quince my ramen cravings. Service is always great! From the downstairs store to the upstate's dinning area, they make sure to treat you right every time! The portions are big, prices are a big high but hey, it's Atlanta!
google avatar

Alexandra H.

Yelp
Cool spot! Love Wagaya's vibe as it's more casual but very nice, with great food & decent prices. I tried the green apple sour drink, which was really interesting! I haven't had a drink like that before and it was really refreshing. I then got the green typhoon and the spicy crunchy shrimp roll, both were good, just wish they were a tad bigger! They felt like mini rolls, but overall this place was great and I'll definitely return. My favorite part had to be parking, as there was plenty right behind the restaurant

Yelp
So this was my second time trying out this restaurant and I must, this time was a lot more better than the first. This time around I ordered the Ramen + 2, which is a combo that comes with a ramen bowl and two sushi rolls, and the combo was fulfilling and affordable. So I ordered the Tonkostu ramen bowl (safe bet if you're not sure what to order) and a California and spicy tuna roll. The ramen was a bit salty but overall it was pretty tasty, fresh and creamy. The California roll was decent, but not the best I've had. And I wasn't a fan of the spicy tuna roll at all, so I probably wouldn't recommend that one. Overall the food was decent. I do want to come back one more time to try one last thing on the menu (the Chuka dinner set), so stay tune for that review!

Yelp
Went here last night because we wanted Japanese. They had a few appetizers and sides but there was only sushi on the menu. At first I was thinking they would have hibachi but it was only sushi. None of the options on the menu were vegetarian but I asked the waitress and she said they could do a veggie roll. It was pretty good, I got 8 pieces for 9$. My boyfriend got the volcano sushi and said it was very good! I think it was 17$. The atmosphere was calm and the restaurant was really nice. It was a bit difficult to find parking. I ended up parking my car somewhere down the street but I was a little worried it wasn't a real parking spot. Overall the place was good and I would definitely go back!

Yelp
A solid place for Japanese food! You scan the menu from a QR code on the table, and there is a ton of selections. I got the butter corn miso ramen, which was pretty tasty. Presentation could be better (as seen in picture). I was a little skeptical of how the different flavors would taste together, but it was pretty good! Shoutout to our server Marie! They have a small parking lot shared with other restaurants in the back, and a small Japanese grocery store next door.

Yelp
Old grudges are just never good. After putting Wagaya on a five year block given a specific experience, the return of indoor dining in this latter stage of the pandemic felt like an appropriate time to revisit Wagaya and see if it changed. First of all, they've gotten rid of the reservation system which was very clearly mismanaged, with everything now turning into a first come first serve model, which is much more appropriate for this tiny casual space. They've experimented with a very cool Chirori Robata grill next to them which unfortunately closed during the pandemic. They've also opened a pretty neat grocery store right next to the restaurant. Despite the ongoing pandemic, Wagaya is still quite busy even on random nights in the week. The meal starts with a red tonkotsu ramen, which is a very flavorful and surprisingly mild at the same time. So, this ramen effectively caters to a guest who does not want to leave feeling like they ate a whole pig in a bowl. The sushi rolls are made well construction wise, but crunchy yellowtail roll was just unbearably salty. In the Ramen plus two combo, the pricing on them is pretty spectacular. The atmosphere of Wagaya inside is very casual and woody, with a homey feel to it. Would be nice if they didn't have a ton of to go boxes and packing stations right in the middle of the dining room floor as that takes away from the ambiance somewhat. It's a very casual place, with matching prices and good service on recent visits.

Yelp
If you love Japanese food, music, and anime you will love it! I suggest looking over the menu before going most people had order regret. The vegetarians in the group were disappointed. I did my homework and enjoyed my meal. Dishes could use a bit more meat. However, it reflects in their awesome prices! Fingers crossed that inflation doesn't affect this. Food:4/5 Drinks:3/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Service:4/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 After dinner go downstairs to shop for some goodies!!

Yelp
Treasure box Sushi was a squircle shaped roll comprised of 97% dry sushi rice and 3% fish and the Mind of Zen roll was served at an eerily tepid temp with dry tempura chicken (?) in the middle. I wanted to check out the store downstairs but I won't be going back.

Yelp
Solid Japanese food at a decent price. The eel was huge and I struggled to finish everything but the dashi helped switch up the taste if I needed it. We also got the peach sour which hit the spot after a hot day walking around the city!

Yelp
I wish I could give this place like a 4.5 because I felt it tasted better than a 4 but didn't wow me like a 5 would. I ordered the red tonkotsu and got the spicy chili oil on the side so I can control how spicy it was. I poured about half and it was perfect. A small kick but nothing crazy. It comes with egg, mushrooms and pork. The broth was delicious and the noodles were cooked just right. We also had the rolls and the California rolls are small but tasty. 5 stars for extremely fast service. Food was out 5 minutes after we ordered it. Parking is located in the back of the restaurant. Small parking lot.
