Google
I wish I could leave a 10 stars. I wanted to try a different place to eat for breakfast and googled here. Place is small, quiet and quiet neighborhood in the morning. The place good music as you eat. The staff are extremely personable and polite. The food came out hot and not a huge wait for it. The food is AMAZING! The best sausage gravy I’ve ever had. I’ve been to a lot of places, and this was extremely good. Not a long wait as I came in at 8 am. I will be back when I’m in the area. Totally recommend eating here! Needs to be packed !

Google
The food was good. The Cajun Smash Hash stood out -would definitely order that again. Sausage was homemade -great! Service was great! One cup of black coffee was $4. They charge a "culinary appreciation" fee of 3% of your total. The chairs are hard plastic (unless seated on a bench). They are cute and asthetically pleasing, but they are hard on the back of your legs. This is a very small and cozy eating place. There was no wait at 8:30AM on Thursday (last week of June).

Google
I was on vacation with my Mom in New Orleans last week and we found a great place for breakfast, Wakin Bakin. We ate there twice for breakfast and the service was great, enjoyed all the art work on the walls and the food was very good! My favorite meal was the Sourdough King with fruit. The egg, cheese, spinach, avocado, tomato, bacon and the tasty sourdough bread! I also had the pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon was good too. If you live or are visiting the French Quarter you should definitely go to Wakin Bakin on 900 Dumaine Street!

Google
hands down best breakfast. It tastes so good and cooked to perfection. My eggs were perfectly. Kudos to the staff and chef. Loved every second of my breakfast. Great vibe and friendly smiles. Will definitely be returning.

Google
We were looking for a place to eat while near the French quarter in New Orleans. You were there for the Red Dress run in August and it was just far enough away from the crowd so we didn't have to wait too long to eat. We had brunch there and absolutely loved it! Would go again! Super cute corner restaurant.

Google
Best biscuits in the NOLA, probably in the world tbh. We literally ate here 3 times in a week, all of their food is amazing and their staff is so friendly and pleasant. The sourdough is traditional and made in house, so it's phenomenal, their sourdough king sandwich is probably my fav sandwich ever. They also have a lot of vegetarian/vegan options and were amazing with working around allergies. I can't recommend this place enough, yummmm!!

Google
Great Spot in the Quarter! Stopped in and was pleasantly surprised! The service was friendly and attentive, the food came out hot and delicious, and the portions were generous—definitely come hungry. Prices were reasonable, especially for being in the French Quarter. The coffee was also really good, which isn’t always a given. Overall, a solid spot I’d happily visit again.

Google
We were walking around, taking in the beautiful city around Bourbon St and fell into this hole in the wall. We shared the shrimp'n grits with crawdads and poached eggs and sourdough toast and OMG! It was sooo good. The sourdough was cooked on the grill in butter and was crispy. We bought a jar of starter to make our own.

Yelp
Cheesy grits with bacon and eggs over easy served in a bowl! Yummy. Got my southern food craving totally satisfied. Plus iced coffee on a warm day. We ate among gnomes and ghouls on Halloween morning. Service was lovely too. No wait. And the ambiance is cute and arty.

Yelp
Okay a chihuahua and a Dalmatian we're sitting next to me. Def helped the ambiance. Just a cute quirky breakfast spot with a short tight well executed menu. Coffee offerings were great.

Yelp
Pleasant service, very good food! Loved the King sandwich and the Voodoo Coffee! A great morning breakfast/brunch place

Yelp
Food was delicious. Enjoyed a classic breakfast. The sourdough king was yummy! The bread has a tangy taste to it. The service was fast. We went around 11 ish in the morning so the restaurant was at 60% capacity but can still have a conversation with company. Will return!

Yelp
I am so happy we stumbled across this place. it's off the beaten path and definitely worth checking out. The food was incredible, especially their homemade sourdough bread and smashed potatoes. the service was amazing and folks were incredibly friendly. It is small, quiet, and quaint. A must!

Yelp
This is an exceptional breakfast spot. The food is the real deal and service is friendly. Bring your own bottle of Champagne for a mimosa.... It's BYOB.... Go here

Yelp
Oh heck yes this place rocks! Right off bourbon Street in the heart of the French Quarter. Best to walk here as parking is mainly street parking and tough to find. This location is a small quaint place. Really great vibes with the atmosphere, the workers and the art. First off, get their house made VOODOO JUICE. This is their homemade chocolate milk mixed with cold brew. I sucked down 2 of them in minutes. Secondly I got their Sourdough King breakfast sandwich. It was delicious!!! Perfect bread, amazing bacon aioli and it was nice and large! I paired this with their Cajun hash and highly recommend. Overall cost vs food was spot on. The wait staff is also very friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Quaint little spot a few blocks from our hotel. We waited a few minutes to be seated. Servers were nice, kept topping off our beverages. The food did take a rather long time, especially since the place was pretty small. We ordered a classic breakfast and sausage biscuits and gravy (came with eggs and bacon). The classic breakfast was pretty average, We wanted to try the homemade sourdough toast, 1 large piece of toast that was good, didn't taste like sourdough to me. I wanted to like the biscuits and gravy, but the gravy was sort of grainy and not hot. The sausage in the breakfast and in the gravy was homemade. I liked the flavor, my boyfriend was disappointed in it, we actually swapped sausage for bacon. The issue I had with the sausage was that there were pieces of bone in it. Maybe we got them on a bad day, I might give them a shot again.

Yelp
Went twice during our trip, good food. Very fun decorations! Would recommend in the French Quarter

Yelp
Food was good. Service was atrocious. Wrote the owner about our experience. They never responded. I can forgive lapses - but when feedback is offered, someone should respond.
google avatar

Sabrina F.

Yelp
Make sure to come hungry because they serve a lot of food! It's perfect after a night of drinking! The server was super nice and sweet. The restaurant is very basic and small so definitely get there earlier on busy days like the weekends!
google avatar

Murray E.

Yelp
Gravy was excellent! My waitress was super sweet and made sure i was well taken care of after a long night of drinking! Great environment and relaxing atmosphere too with beautiful art to view and purchase if you are interested in purchasing. Definitely my new favorite place for breakfast in the Quarter.
google avatar

Sarah N.

Yelp
Went and had breakfast here it was so Delicious!! As a true southerner I am picky about my grits and these are great! The smash potatoes are a must- add cheddar- trust me!! Our waitress was super sweet as well and provided great service!

Kelly B.

Yelp
Nice little breakfast place just off Bourbon St. Food was very good (try the sourdough!) Wait staff was friendly and efficient!

Nannette F.

Yelp
First brunch in New Orleans for us in several years. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious! Staff was very happy. Loved the bright colors inside. Would definitely visit again.

Yelp
Amazing food and great service! Cute little brunch spot in the middle of French Quarters! Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
A friend of ours here in Maine found out we were going to be in NOLA and said "my friends own a place in the French quarter, you should go" and boy am I glad we did, we ate there twice on our first trip down last September, and 5 times on our trip back earlier this month, the place is cozy with great food and a friendly staff, cannot wait to come back on our next visit to New Orleans!

Anne H.

Yelp
This is a wonderful little breakfast place! My husband and I came here every morning during our recent trip to Nola. It was such a lovely way to start each day, great food, great vibes, great staff. Their grits are top notch and I highly recommend the breakfast burrito. And the seafood etouffee over grits. And the OG bowl. It's all good, you really can't go wrong. Oh, and the bacon confit that's in so many of their dishes is just amazing. Wakin' Bakin' forever!!

Javier S.

Yelp
Ordered Uber Eats. And this is what I got. The biscuits were also burned. Save your money. Update: The owner did message me directly and offer to make it right and that the spoke to the cook
google avatar

Elle O.

Yelp
Meh It's a cut little spot. Not very big but eclectic as is everything just about in the French quarters. The service is friendly enough and the food comes quickly. We ordered the sourdough king with the hash. The sandwich itself was decent but the has came out cold. Decent flavor but I don't like being served cold food when it should be hot. I feel like there are so many places to eat in this area that people should be stepping it up.
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
I love this place. They've got my favorite biscuits and gravy in the city (not that I've eaten everywhere yet). But definitely the best in the Quarter. The staff are very friendly and it's always an enjoyable experience.
google avatar

Alan C.

Yelp
Very quaint restaurant located in the French quarters. Hard to find parking. The service was great and food was delicious. The bacon was tasty. They also have a few vegetarian options. Nice atmosphere and great customer service. Nice for family, friends, dates, or eating solo. Definitely going back as prices were good. They make sure to take care of their kitchen staff with a automatic 10% gratuity. I like that. Enjoy!

Yelp
Charming and friendly service, food came quickly. I don't know about other locations, but this one was family-run for the summer with the manager(?)/owner(?)'s little daughter helping out at the front door - cute. Loved the freshness and colorfulness of the food. We were here as tourists, so the Cajun/Creole menus were starting to weigh down on me after a few days and a lighter, fresher fare was welcome. I had the Heart Healthy with spinach and egg white omelette plus sourdough. It was light, but had a lovely flavor to what could have been a really bland meal. We also had the Sourdough King (basically a breakfast sandwich) and the Shrimp Etouffee on Grits. Both delicious as well. The sourdough is yummy and the etouffee was lighter than most other places with more of a fresh tomato base, but it was very flavorful. Overall, the food here is lighter, but it still keeps that New Orleans spirit and flavor.

Yelp
Food Service and Ambiance all superb! I definitely would recommend this business. All and all a great experience l.

Vanessa Z.

Yelp
A great breakfast! I very much enjoyed my OG bowl which had grits loaded with chz, bacon crumbles & scrambled egg. My daughter had the "usual". Which was a plate with eggs, bacon biscuit and fruit. My son had the kids pancakes with egg and bacon. He loved it. Staff was great as well and service was speedy.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
Upon entering the very tiny restaurant you could hear employees bickering in the kitchen area which is an open concept. My husband enjoyed the VooDoo coffee and we shared the bacon burrito. The burrito could have been better had they warmed it on the grilled. The inside of the burrito was room temperature. The sourdough bread was delicious.

Yelp
Wakin Bakin was recommended by Sky Dining. Since it was a short walk from my hotel I decided to check it out. Please do not look at their online menu before going. Online menu is not what they have at restaurant. The restaurant is small but it has so much charm and character. The wait list time was 10 -15 minutes. My server Bill was high energy! He gave me suggestions after realizing I viewed the online menu. I ordered the Heart Healthy Omlette with Creamy Grits and Pancakes. The omelette was flavorful and reminds me of a weekend omlette project you do at home. The pancakes were ok. I fell in love with the grits. I normally like a little cheese on my grits but Wakin Bakin only adds butter and salt. It was a nice simple blend that packed a lot of comfort and taste. Casual comfort food! I plan to go back before leaving New Orleans.

Melinda D.

Yelp
Voted my favorite meal while on NOLA for the week. I got the sourdough breakfast sandwich with avocado. EXCELLENT! Waitress and owners were so friendly. Cutest, quaint perfect setting for breakfast!
google avatar

Genevieve F.

Yelp
My food was good but not amazeballs. I did truly enjoy if but the carrots (which I loved were yellow and purple and not boring orange) were chewy. Not for me. I skipp d those but I did try all colors The tofu was good also. I wish there were more beans. But overall I definitely enjoyed my breakfast. They have a decent selection of tea, but once again, I'd like to see more choices.
google avatar

Heather N.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast and ambiance! If you like adventurous food, I highly recommend this cute spot. Refreshingly something different!
google avatar

Barbey E.

Yelp
Good solid choice for brekky. Clean, helpful staff and welcoming. And clean bathrooms.
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
On paper this sounds wonderful. Great business model. Chef/owner is very present and super friendly. Menu is extremely limited. Very meat centric. The tofu bowl was basically a bowl of black bean soup with some potatoes and tofu. Some turkey bacon/sausage would be nice options. Wanted to love it, but not sure we'd go back just because of the limited menu.
google avatar

Laurie L.

Yelp
A hidden gem well worth the wait in the French Quarters with delicious 'down home' food including bacon done to perfection, melt in your mouth biscuits, fluffy pancakes, perfect grits and delightful eggs. Only negatives would be that we found a cup of regular coffee to be expensive (but each cup is drip coffee) and desire for larger paper or cloth napkins.

Ana C.

Yelp
Charming ambiance with great food for a good price. Recommend the pancakes or the OG grits bowl. Excellent and quick service as well-- this is a must for breakfast in the French Quarter
google avatar

Milou I.

Yelp
Sourdough king was very good on the biscuits and gravy is what I recommend miles from this place. The service is very good, but probably not a place I would return to having so many options.

Paulina P.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the service is great. The place is super cute! I will definitely come back!

Eileen Kupchan B.

Yelp
A family run business 2 blocks from Hotel St Pierre. Friendly staff; clean; decorated with art & plants; The breakfast was very tasty & plentiful; I had scrambled eggs with bacon, a biscuit & fresh fruit; Steve had scrambled eggs with bacon, a biscuit & grits. We're returning today.

Eden A.

Yelp
The food was amazing!! Definitely recommend this place for a morning breakfast. Their Iced Chai latte and Turtle Mocha drinks were very flavorful. In the video we had the Biscuits & Gravy , the Sourdough King, the Super-bowl, and the Meat Monster. All had amazing flavor we all left full and happy but sad we couldn't eat more. Their service was fast and quick! It is small cafe but everything tastes like its made with their heart and soul.

Yelp
Shout out to the Dauphine team! Wandered down Dauphine and found this gem. Sweet little comfy spot where you can relax and breathe easy. And after you've eaten all your NOLA favs and your body needs a healthy plate, go here. Their shrimp spinach egg scramble is the truth. Teamed it with fresh fruit which was really fresh and not an afterthought and their amazing honey biscuit. And order two of them or you'll feel big time regrets like me. Best carb I ate all week. And never knew how hard it is to find hot herbal tea in the FQ but they had a delicious Moroccan mint that made my day. Thank you. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Something went very, very awry here. I don't know if it was a bad morning or an overarching issue but absolutely everything went wrong with this visit. The first warning should've been the fact that there was absolutely no one eating when we walked in. It was 11 and the place was full. I saw people with empty drinks but absolutely no food as far as the eye could see. We nabbed the last seat (by the window! Dog watching!). Our waiter took our order pretty quickly and things looked great! And then he was gone for an hour. Not like, gone gone, cause he was puttering around the restaurant now and then (when he wasn't hiding in the back). There was another waitress similarly hiding out. Our bottomless coffee quickly found the bottom and we couldn't even flag him down for a refill. The water we ordered never came. Time passed. A LOT of time. An hour. So many cute dogs walked by the window. I was all for throwing down a $20 and escaping but my hubby was invested. FINALLY our food came. It managed to be completely bland and generic and definitively not worth the wait. I have no idea what happened here. A train wreck of some kind. Perhaps the kitchen was behind or understaffed? I could forgive that IF the front of house staff was attentive or explained or ANYTHING other than hiding out. Maybe it was a bad day for them, but it certainly a terribly start to a day for me. I really hope they figure their sh-t out because it does appear to be a cool, cheerful space and the idea is appealing. The execution, however--not so much.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is truly a hidden gem. Best breakfast in Nola by a long shot! I had their Confits Burrito which was AMAZING! Incredibly friendly staff. Fun atmosphere! This place has it all! Don't miss out and have your breakfast here! David from North Carolina.
google avatar

Mona G.

Yelp
I need to give them an extra 3 starts for a total of 8 ! The homemade Sourdough toast is off the chart's delicious. I ate the Meat Monster omelet. My T, ordered Sourdough King sandwich ! We normally eat very low carb. So the CarB OverloaD was totally worth every calorie. Lol The service was great. Thanks, Jen

Ariel T.

Yelp
Cute little corner breakfast place. Food and service are New Orleans at its finest. If you are staying in the quarter during the week this is the perfect time to go.
google avatar

Kerry M.

Yelp
We were visiting New Orleans and were looking for a place to have a regular breakfast. We were in the tourist area that had mainly Cajun-type and seafood, which we loved but not for breakfast. A shop owner recommended Wakin Bacon, so off we walked. We did stop first at a hole in the wall place that actually suspended service for an hour so the kitchen could catch up. There were literally 5 small tables in the joint! Anyway, a few more blocks and we found Wakin' Bacon. The decor is both bright and homey. I ordered eggs and bacon with grits, my sister and my daughter both ordered pancakes. My eggs and bacon were very good, cooked exactly as I asked (much rarer occurrence than you would think), and the grits were just excellent. Both my sister and my daughter said their pancakes were excellent as well. The staff is very friendly and attentive. All in all, a great experience. My daughter and I ended up going there the next day, as we knew we'd have a great breakfast at a very pleasant location.
google avatar

Laura O.

Yelp
Sweet little place in French Quarter. Food was very good as was the service. Heads up, not easily accessible to those with mobility issues. Steps to enter and steps to restroom and additional dining area. Great French Truck coffee served.

Jo M.

Yelp
Limited menu... but all delicious! OG bowl with grits was fabulous. Attentive service. Intimate space... cooorful and spotless
google avatar

Erin B.

Yelp
Service was excellent today, friendly, pleasant staff. The coffee was excellent. Biscuits and gravy were delicious. Simple comfort breakfast. Loved it.

Joseph B.

Yelp
There are too many good restaurants in NOLA to waste time here. Probably the poorest wait staff interaction in years.
