I always order from this spot and today they really disappointed me. I ordered $90.21 through door dash and received nonsense. I ordered 1 okra soup with goat meat, 1 okra soup with mixed meat, goat pepper soup, and efo. The order was placed at at 2:03pm and the ETA was 3:12 - 3:27. My first assigned driver had to wait for over 30 minutes and I called the restaurant at 3:25pm to check in. I was told the order just needed 5 more minutes. My first driver got tired of waiting (rightfully so) and I was then assigned a new driver. The order ended up going out at 3:51pm. That is crazy from the original ETA. Almost 2 hours! It doesn’t end there. The first order is of okra with goat meat had ONE PIECE OF GOAT MEAT, 2 pieces of shaki, and what looks like snails? I’m honestly not sure but who asked for that? The second order of okra soup and mixed meat was just full of bones. The efo only had 1 piece of meat, 1 cow foot full of bone, and 2 pieces of small ponmo. And then to top it off, the goat pepper soup wasn’t even filled all the way. For $23 EACH? that is just insane. As if I’m giving away money for free. Very bad experience and I’m so disappointed. It’s one thing to wait for 2 hours but to wait and then receive rubbish? I’m not even hungry anymore. I won’t be placing an order for a long time. I advise everyone to proceed with caution or just order in person and throughly check your food. It’s very unfair to give nonsense to paying customers just because it’s delivery. We’re all still paying customers.

Let me tell you something that Oha soup! Don’t play! I’ve been craving authentic oha soup for so long and it definitely satisfied my cravings. Today portion large with nice sizes of meat. The owner was very sweet and hospitable. Can’t wait to try more dishes 10/10!

Every thing is a 5 star! I came from Boston and wanted to try authentic African food, I was very hesitant at first over the phone conversation but then when I went in the atmosphere was very different. Staff was welcoming friendly and helped me pick out what she thought I would like. And I am very satisfied the food is DELICIOUS. This will be a stop for me each time I’m in New York. Definitely worth the purchase and pricing was very reasonable!

I've been in and out of this neighborhood plenty of times , sheesh I even worked at the local PCT and never saw this place. Had it not been for a buddy of mine It would still go unnoticed. It sits nearest the last last house on St. marks corner of Utica Ave in BKLYN. There is nothing pretty nor inviting about the outer appearance and sadly to say the same for the inside. The place is very small and the immediate seating area upon entering is usually cluttered with closed together chairs and papers on the tables. Judging from my statement as to usually tells you I have been here more than twice. After you enter if you look to the right there is a cut out about the size of a nook. It holds about 4 small tables and chairs, the mini bar is too the left of the entrance. The place is very untidy. I was a bit scared to eat here at first but my friend has been sick so... I was taken back when I saw the small kitchen. Unbelievably it held 3 employees. Had it not been the size difference of them all small med and large they would not have fit... LOL sounds funny but I am serious!The kitchen is not well kept but the board of health has not been here yet I guess since the openings. I don't see a NYC rating either. 🤔 Hmm. Oh well on to the food The first time I had a delicious fish soup nice and pepper like I like my food. If you like hot 🔥 here it is In This lil hole "The wall"🧱 Try it is all I have to say make sure you get the right fufu. I came back with my best friend who is from Nigeria because he didn't believe my taste buds until he tried it himself. I treated him to Seafood okra. You would think he hadn't eaten for years the way he gulped it down and looking into my plate. I admit it was good. But I don't thinthey serve this often . At the cost of $25 it was overpriced but delicious. The last time I went back I was sadly disappointed. I was hoping the rubbish I saw at the door and the untidy area would be cleaned up but I will have to at this just how they keep it. Very sad. Although I enjoyed the food I will not return because the surrounding makes a difference as to what goes into your food. If the kitchen is messy and it is then the food is not at its best even if it tastes good. Sorry guys. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." All eateries should come from a clean surroundings.

The delivery guy provided prompt and polite service. The food was fresh and delicious. Authentic African food. I loved it

Is the worst authentic African food I have had. My rice was burnt . My sister had hair in her egusi soup and my fish was bland with just spicy sauce on top . I’m disappointed! If you want good African food go to Native !

Portion size was good. The cow foot was also really good. Pounded yam lacked flavor. I disliked that it didn't have a variety in the meats provided. There was 1 cow foot, 4-5 pieces of skin with hair on it, 1 piece of goat and no tripe and no fish. I didn't like that the skin had so much hair on it and I honestly couldn't finish the rest after that. Also on a scale of 1-10 the spicy level of the Eguasi was a 7. I put a quarter coin so you can judge for yourself the size n etc. Full price was 33$

Came to this restaurant and kept saying hello while they were talking inside and no one was answering. When we finally ordered, the service was fine. The ladies were polite. The food was good. Fish was okay and could be more flavorful . I probably wouldn’t really come again because the restaurant was a bit dirty which was a bit off-putting. I still give a 4 star because the food was good and the ladies weren’t rude which is rare for a Nigerian restaurant.

Always love supporting the community. This hidden gem is a great place for good quality food while sitting at the location. This secluded spot is what drives local there and their food is never a miss ; either take out or delivery or eating there. Staff is great at helping french speaking clients that can visit at times.

Wakky's African Restaurant is one.The best among them all. 5 stars No other Nigerian food outlet in the New York area comes close. Her food ought to be a national treasure.

Horrible hospitality lady had a nasty attitude very rude ! Walked in for a menu and was told rudely that they did not have a menu . When I came to pick up an order she seem to have an attitude with me , a total stranger . Please do better

Ok so I went in to get pick up and let me explain my experience. Took maybe 15 minutes before anyone even noticed me to take an order . In that time I made some observations so let's touch on that . I noticed 3 delivery drivers all with upset faces, heard 2 talking about how long they have been waiting and that alone would've turned me off even before what I saw next. If you look into the kitchen you can see the woman talking out food from pans to then heat in a microwave. I'm not sure if heat tables are pricey but I would assume an establishment would want to invest In it because anything once you microwave just isn't great quality . Seems like the men just hang out in the restaurant but after all of this I just left because I'm not about to have microwave to go food lol just to get home and probably microwave again. I bet they about to cover up that kitchen

I'm sad to say I was dissapointed, as an African myself Im always excited to eat great African food! I'm not Nigerian though so for all I know the food was cooked perfectly, but it wasn't my cup of tea. The chicken suya was the hardest pieces of meat I've ever had, literally almost impossible to bite and chew, had no idea chicken could get so tough! The whole fried fish was bland to me, even salt was lacking. The food also took about 2 hours on uber eats, I think the restaurant is partly to blame because every time I checked the app it said the place was still preparing the meal, once it finally got into the hands of the delivery guy it was quickly delivered. If I ever try other things from here and like them I'll update my review, but for now I can't recommend this place.

I'm not sure if i ordered too late (it was 8pm) or what but it was nasty !! I ordered the pounded yam with egusi soup & when I opened it I immediately saw a piece of hair in the food right on top soon as I opened the lid !!! I wish I woulda took a pic. I was also thrown off by the smell. I literally threw everything away $30 down the drain. I was sooo disappointed !!

I ordered the goat meat stew with JOLLOF rice. It was amazing. Very flavorful. The staff was kind and very attentive.

Absolutely amazing Nigerian food. You would never be disappointed. Everything we have ordered is absolutely delicious. The Jollof rice the fried rice chicken the chicken outstanding all of it.

There is not a big sign or flashing lights, just delicious authentic Nigerian Food. Everything I have had from there is delicious! And as for spice level you can have them adjust it accordingly. The servers and cook are nice and patient when explaining the dishes.

great nigerian food . i personally like the okra sauce. nice staff as well. happy to have found this place
