Walking Spanish at Las Perlas offers a vibrant twist on Central American classics, featuring delicious yuca fries and savory pupusas that keep diners coming back for more.
"Located on the back patio of Las Perlas in West Hollywood, Walking Spanish serves gussied-up takes on Central American dishes like thick yuca fries topped with crispy pork belly, pan con pollo sliders, and pupusas with fillings that sound like entrees. If you’re famished after a few palomas, your focus needs to be the $30 pupusa flight, which includes all five varieties, including gooey gruyére and fontina cheese, chicken in mole poblano, and our favorite, “The Eastlos” made with consomé-laced masa and drippy goat birria. Orders are placed at the register on the patio, but we’d recommend taking your haul back into Las Perlas to eat. The lighting is better (re: darker) if you’re on a date, plus it's a short walk to the bar for another mezcal Old Fashioned." - Brant Cox
"It’s time for the El Sereno Eats Food Tour! This Sunday, May 23, the East LA collaborative is hosting a one-day event, featuring food from seven different food vendors. Each ticket costs $50, and includes a pre-selected dish from each pop-up, like sliders paired with loaded tots from Walking Spanish, pork belly chile verde burritos from Two Songs Burritos, and birria mollete from Birria Pa La Cruda, plus a special sticker pack and commemorative stamp card. So head to their website to buy a ticket and get ready to eat." - kat hong
