Let's be real and I'm very about Walmart Bayonne. I will rate this location at a 2 for the major following reasons. I will also be writing the Corporate Office. As a retail auditor and frequent shopper/delivery driver, I must report that this store represents a complete operational failure. This is a formal warning to customers and contractors: HEALTH & SAFETY RISKS: Rotten Odors in the meat department, indicating serious sanitation issues. Customers forced to CLIMB SHELVES to reach items because stock is pushed to the back, creating a severe fall hazard. Unprofessional Conduct: Stock crews use profane language on the sales floor. Asset Protection personnel are confrontational and rude. HOSTILE & NEGLECTFUL ENVIRONMENT: Staff are on personal calls, listening to headphones, and socializing instead of working. Visible resentment when asked for help; many pretend not to understand or lack basic store knowledge. Zero visible management on the floor. The one supervisor witnessed was openly rude to a customer. "Even Asset Protection staff are unprofessional—holding personal conversations on cell phones and using a rude, confrontational tone with customers." SYSTEMIC OPERATIONAL FAILURES: Chronic out-of-stocks and poor merchandising (items not front-faced). Bags frequently unavailable, contradicting NJ law and store policy. Cashiers watch customers struggle without offering help. This is not just poor service—it is a toxic, unsafe, and dysfunctional store. I have filed a detailed report directly to Walmart corporate executives demanding an immediate unannounced audit and full retraining. Shop here at your own risk until corporate intervenes."

During checkout, the cashier who assisted me was unprofessional and provided no support when I attempted to use the Walmart Pay app. Walmart associates are expected to be trained to assist customers with store technology, yet the cashier made no effort to help. Additionally, she was not wearing a name tag, Operator 706 which prevented me from identifying her for this report. I requested to speak with a manager; however, due to the long line behind me, I did not want to inconvenience other customers, so I chose not to escalate the situation at that moment. Still, the behavior I experienced clearly indicates a need for improved training and coaching for this employee, particularly in customer service and familiarity with Walmart Pay. I am trusting that this matter be addressed promptly so that other customers do not encounter similar issues. I would appreciate confirmation that this concern has been received and will be reviewed by store leadership.

The store may be dirty in the parking lot, but the employees are very polite and friendly and will actually walk you over to the shelf to help you find things. I didn’t see anyone arguing with each other or being rude to customers and some of the places I’ve been to are really not the best but this one is on the inside.

The cashiers at this store will double or sometimes triple scan items please make sure you double check your receipts before leaving the store because the managers will lie and say they’re processing a refund for the extra items charged and then never will even if you call back multiple times. I was charged almost $150 extra over the course of multiple visits because my purchases always include a lot of items so it was easy to go unnoticed until after. The store will never give you the money back and it just happens again the next time you visit. Sucks you can’t do self checkout cause they’re worried you won’t scan anything but if you go to their employees you’re paying extra every visit because they’re not paying attention. Stay away if you can get your items somewhere else or validate your receipt and charges before you pay especially on transactions of 40+ items totaling in the 100s.

Worst experience ever This is not the Walmart I’m used to. I can to do a simple return in costumer service and this person was clearly having a bad day and she found her costumer to be the target of it all. The lady in the picture started yelling at me and cut me off with every question I asked. Additionally while I was talking to her she was scrolling on social media. Then to add to it all she went to call the manager and as she walked by me she stuck her finger in my face in a very threatening way. The manager in the other hand took two minutes to help me a resolved everything and it was quick easy and refreshing.

Despite so many horrific reviews about this Walmart location, I must say that I had a pleasant experience. I was here recently to pickup an online order for the infamous Patti LaBelle Sweet Potato Pie (Family Size). Although I scheduled a curbside pickup, I was on-foot so I had to go inside the store to pick up my order. Once inside, it was noticeable and understandably busy due to Thanksgiving being the next day. The area for pickup was on the right side as soon as you enter the Walmart so there was no need for me to venture far into the store. I had to wait about ten minutes for an employee to come out with my item. While waiting, I interacted with a couple of the employees about their thoughts on the pie and a recent concert in NJ that I attended & so did the employee. I can see myself coming back to this Walmart location but it will strictly be to pick an online order.

The positive Walmart is still my favorite place to grocery shop in the Bayonne area. It offers all the essential grocery items, decent produce and, most importantly, the best prices. They also offer electronics, car accessories and many other things. My tip is for you to check their website for in-store items and once you get there you know what aisle to go to. (Costco should learn this from Walmart!) Furthermore, there's always plenty of free parking. What could be improved? Well, first of all 4 out of 5 shopping carts have some type of problem. Either their wheels are stuck or another similar issue. (Now Walmart should learn from Costco's smooth carts!) Also, they no longer offer self checkouts, so those old self check out machines became 15 items or less cashiers. But with 4 machines being reserved (aka"wasted" ) for Walmart plus members (you rarely see one) the lines are each time longer.

Before I begin let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so without further ado let's begin!!.. This Walmart in Bayonne NJ is similar to most other Walmart locations. I will say the only difference is they don't use plastic shopping bags. From my personal experience I had to purchase a bag for a few items I purchased, because I didn't want to hold them in my hand! I seen customers walk out the with a shopping cart full of bagged items. So from what I saw, you can either buy a Walmart shopping bag which is reusable or you can just load your cart up with loose items and groceries!. I would definitely return here when I am visiting again!.

This is my first Walmart encounter in the Tri-State area, and probably my last. I have been to Walmart in Orlando, while visiting Disney and in Connecticut, both of those went by without a hitch. However, this experience was horrible. I only came because I purchased an AC bracket but then decided I would buy a portable AC instead. As I walked in the store, to the right of entrance was the area I needed to go, but before I get there I see a "customer" trying to fight one of the employees. After that fiasco, I wait online to do my return, which takes over 20 minutes. Despite me having proof of the e-mail, the employee could not locate it, and made me initialize the return, on my own, through my phone. She was friendly but I thought that was an odd process. I figured since I was here, I would pick up a few items. The aisles were congested, people were rude, but they do have some great prices. Overall, I'm never coming back here. I'll stick to Target.

This review is for Toywiz, third party seller from Walmart.com. All my daughter wanted for the holiday was a suitcase of the LOL Surprise Dolls. No one had it in stock. However, Walmart had 1 suitcase left, sold through the third party, Toywiz. It looked like it was repackaged but I did not think that would be the case with something purchased through Walmart so I let my hunch go. Imagine how devastated my daughter was when she opened the dolls and one was missing her shoes and another was missing bracelets. I reached out to Walmart who said that they would reach out to the seller on my behalf. I also reached out to the seller. The seller stated that the pieces are not guaranteed but rather this is part of the "surprise." Now, that is LOL! I reached out to the manufacturer who said all pieces should be there and did not have replacement pieces in stock. I reached back out to Walmart and spoke with Rhea who told me I could keep the product AND receive a full refund. When I did not receive any notice, I called Walmart back and spoke with Louis who said he would escalate my issue. I am still waiting for a response and will update this review once I receive one. In the interim, two words for anyone reading this review - Buyer Beware!

I shop at this location because it's along my route home. If you need to return anything GO TO ANOTHER STORE!! The customer service at the Bayonne location is terrible. Most of the staff is unfriendly and not helpful. Not all of them. I have been assisted by a few associates on occasion but generally it's a "get it yourself" kinda place.

This location leaves out of date perishables on its shelves. I just got an Instacart order that had P3 Protein Packs with a use by date of 12/21/2024 and an apple tray with the use by date 12/31/2024. It is pretty ridiculous they don't have anyone pulling expired items from the shelves. It is probably worth it to pay a little more for groceries and a better store.

I ordered a custom cake online from Walmart for my Birthday. I received the most beautiful, fresh, delicious Birthday cake with strawberries, vanilla cake and buttercream icing. The process of ordering the cake online was simple. The pick up of the cake was easy breezy. The price was off the charts affordable. I highly recommend this cake. I attached a photo.

I went to the pharmacy to pick up a script before work. As I approached, I saw the gate was down and prepared myself to ask what time they opened. The angry woman behind the counter screamed at me before I even had a chance to open my mouth, "WE OPEN AT NINE!" When I then asked if they took tap payments she looked at me like I was the crazy one for even thinking of asking the question When I returned later I was held hostage after paying for my medication. They refused to give me my medicine that I've been taking for over three years without incident, until I consulted with a pharmacist. I was not given the option to decline the consult and as a result I was 15 minutes late for work

Loaded and loaded the crate. And just when I was about to leave, I left it for 3 minutes, and it was gone. Who does that? Security couldnt give answers, I was just too tired to go over again. I like the store in general, but seems like things arent right like before anymore.

I went in to the store and bought a new hoodie. I stained the hoodie so I tried to return it for a refund and the store would not accept it. It's not my fault that their sandwiches are so messy!!!

Grocery section is large, well-stocked and plentiful. Pharmacy section is microscopic. In general, this store isn't large. I continue to visit for the groceries, only. For groceries, it's a great price-chopper.

Not surprised over their one star rating. The service here was not good today. The self checkout machines were the only ones working, and there was only two employee's helping with the checkout process. Quite sad to put people out of work like that, it wasn't even efficient either. Upset over it and the long wait

I posted a review on this place years ago. This is my new updated one. I remembered they didn't make an announcement that they were closing at 10pm so my friends and other customers went to the line late and we were all worried. Thankfully, the workers still let them purchase what they got. I also remembered one time one of the cashier machines wasn't working so me and my dad had to wait in line very long. I went back here few days ago and in my opinion, this Walmart is so ratchet. The lines are ridiculously long. I saw 3 sections that weren't taking customers for some reason which is why everyone waited like an hour in line. The floors are also dirty. People had trouble getting past each other because there were too many people. I think this place need some improvements

Walmart in Bayonne is OK but for some weird reason, they closed half of self check out and only left 3 registers available out of 7. The lines are always long. You go on for 2 items and it takes you 20 mins to check out. Fix it!!

I'm calling and they either don't answer or they hang up the phone after I talk I'm trying to see if they have an item and I will never know because when I put the order they deem it fraud and it's not fraud it's for a baby shower the most horrible experience they cancel the order and they didn't tell anybody and now there's no baby shower present I will never buy anything there but they are cheap what can we do

I love walmart, but they need a better assistance in the baby department! every time I tried to buy baby formula, it's a long wait. one time, a lady with red hair, didnt want me to continue shopping while holding 2 can of baby formula.she took it to a specific cashier to hold it for me when i am done and ready to checkout. she claimed that this is policy. I know that she was just being petty, but I wanted to prove her claims. guess what? the same week, I came by the store and purchase one baby formula. NO ONE TOLD ME TO HOLD IT BY THE CASHIER AND WAIT. i looked at her and automatically knew that it wasn't worth it to confront her; sometimes you have to walk away from certain situations.

I absolutely dislike this Walmart. I will only shop there in an emergency situation. The isles are always cluttered with stocking carts. The shelves are always half empty or out of stock which is pretty bad because even when everything is stocked they have nothing. I am over it. I always get nauseous when I have to go there.

The other reviews saying that the employees here treat you like trash are completely right. I came into this Walmart to pickup three items I ordered online. Two were ready to pick up, but the third one was still processing. I asked the person handing out the items to see if I could just grab my third item from the store shelves instead of having to wait and be on my merry way. The person explained to me that I couldn't do that. I then asked him if I could talk to a manager to see if something could be done, but he started getting loud with me and stormed off into the room with the other orders saying "I don't have time for this sh*t". I eventually got help from the manager, but the behavior of that employee is really worrying. I don't think I will pickup items from this location ever again to avoid situations like that from happening again...

So sad these bags of fish are laying here in the pile of returned items. instead of going immediately in the refrigerator. Only to be passed off and sold as "fresh". I waited in the longest line in customer service for over 40 minutes and NOT one person came to put these bags of fish where they belonged.

This is the smallest Walmart "Super"center I have ever been to, to be honest. The best times to go are super early and super, super early. Sometimes the lines are ridiculously long...you'd think people showed up because they were giving things away. Other than the lines, it's not that bad. But I guess taking and hour to get out is a pretty big dealbreaker. Can't even get those Fitbit steps in.

This was a horrible experience that even after I left it doesn't make sense I got purchase a TV, Alvin was extremely attentive. He said I'll be back with your TCL 55 inch. I wait 15 mins for him to come back nothing saying the guy in the back say "oh I can't sell it, they are reserved for Black Friday..." it's November 5, so you want me to wait 3 weeks. I request to speak To a superior, he gets a heavyset gentlemen who comes to say I understand you waited and he told We have it but that's our Black Friday @ 5 am. Being of sound and logical I asked where does it say that? Because that 3 weeks away, he states I agree it doesn't. Sorry about that, and walks away. To say the least that actually makes no sense that you have no tv at all in the store to be sold and no signs up informing people. There really is no excuse for this illogical experience. I call Walmart customer service, she said well maybe the associate didn't know. Again how is that my issue? There's no sign or any notice of that. That makes no sense. If you have such policy it should be obvious to any customer. I have never had an issue until tonight! I'm am uphold and the service I experienced especially since there was nothing notifying me of that, I am patiently awaiting The store manager to call and explain that logic and policy and more importantly careless of the associates, there was no clear response but sorry year we ran out of that regularly shipment and the new one we got is only for Black Friday. Again how am I suppose to know that if Alvin went to get the tv and had me wait.... I want to understand how you will have any TCL TVs until Nov 27. What bothers me the second supervisor associate said we don't tell customers that. Okay so since I pointed out the obvious because I have common sense, how is that my issue? He then affirmed its not and he understood my point. Again I have no tv after speaking to 3 Walmart employees.

Every time I visit this Walmart it gets worse!!! Great prices aside, there is no good reason to shop here. Out of stock shelves, ridiculously long lines, nasty cashiers and even nastier managers. This is NOT indicative of all Walmart locations. In fact, larger more complex locations in both Kearny and Secaucus typically provide a MUCH better experience.

The security guard and the lady working at the exit are racist. They stopped me and ONLY me to check my receipts and my cart but no one else. Everyone else was able to pass by but I was the only Latina there and the only one that they checked. There were people with full carts but they never got checked. Horrible place and disorganized.

This Walmart is by far the worst . Staff are not helpful at all . Very unprofessional and when asked a question they make you feel as though you are disturbing them . To make matters worst there was an open condom wrapper found behind the kids blankets that I wanted to purchase. I immediately placed the blanket back and alerted the staff , they had an attitude. This place was a war zone. I've been to third world countries where shopping was more civilized and clean. I was in the area and thought I would kill two birds with one stone. Not the case, I ended up abandoning my moderately full cart because it was actually a zoo. For a random Sunday, it felt more like what a Black Friday would be (never been but I could imagine). Amazon is gaining market share after this experience.

I have nothing good to say about this place but the low prices.(this is why I didn't give it 1 star) The place is always full of people and there are not enough cashiers. There are many items that you can't find on the shelves in this location. This specific Walmart is not big and very not organized. If you prefer to do your shopping very late at night, then you would like this place, otherwise, avoid it !!!

I bought a vacuum todaySun. Feb. 18, 2018 (Dirt Devil) to my surprise it was used & very dirty. I have to go back to return it , I'm very disappointed. I will attempt to call tonight see what they tell me. I'm very disappointed that Walmart would sell a used item - filled with dirt, dust disgusted. This is a first for me - I've never had this sort of problem. I will call the manager tonight to see what he/she tells

My favorite place to shop when I go to Florida and when I come back home to New York I am saddened because there's no super Walmart or anytime of Walmart in my area so that's one of the reasons why I love going to Florida because I will be in super Walmart like three or 4 Times a week Great Pl. to shop great prices you cannot beat it I love it it's a shame New York does not have a super Walmart anywhere

I only shop at Walmart for difficult to find items, such as the Excell brand shower curtain which is best at being mildew/mold resistant. It is also excellent for machine wash. However, due to the small size of this Bayonne store, they did not have it forcing me to make a trip to the one on Route 22 in Union NJ. For this Bayonne store, I really do not see a reason they need to dedicate half the space to a supermarket that is not competitive pricewise with Shoprite nor has the organic items that Stop and Shop has.

I visited this Walmart at 9:30pm during the week and I was not happy with the check out process. There were no cash registers open so everyone had to use self check out. I had a full shopping cart so it was not a good time. All the employees were stocking shelves and the store was a complete mess with the boxes everywhere. I couldn't even see all the products I wanted to because employees were piling up boxes right in front of me. The only upside was the affordable prices, but besides that this location needs better management.

Horrible place. Came to pick up an online order. Customer in front of me asked the gentleman at customer service desk a question, he left. Th e same customer asked next employee, a female, a question. She then left. We keep standing here for 25 min with no employees working at the customer service desk. Which is supposed to be open. Unsafe shopping environment. No markers on the floor to help social distancing. Employees without masks walking around interacting with customers. "Will" who was directing customers at the Scan-Go check-out refused to wear his mask even after being asked by several customers.

Granted, Walmart has great products for amazing prices. I love Walmart. What i dont like are rude workers and the fact that no one ever knows where a manager is. Today a cashier man, the name in his tag said "Suthim", scanned all of the items we were purchasing, when he piled everything in top of where the plastic bags use to be, he just turned around and leaned up against his register to watch us bag the groceries....the line was super long, so i asked him "can you please help us bag?" His response "manager does not allow us to move away from register"...... i asked him "Your manager?" He them said "the machine doesnt......" then told us that if we had purchased their reusable plastic bags he would then of course bag our groceries. REALLY? I limit my time at this Walmart because not only are the employees nasty as hell, but lately the store looks as unkept as some of the employees. At a time like now - where kindness - of any form - can change a life, why not be grateful to have a job and band together to help each other out? Is that too much to ask for?

Let's face it: your decision to go to Walmart isn't hinging on its Yelp reviews. More likely, you're just here to re-affirm your belief that, yes, this is probably the worst Walmart you've ever been to. Narrow aisles, poor selection, stuff thrown everywhere, and people trying to sell you cable in the electronics section. Oh, and it's absolutely mobbed no matter what day of the week or time of day you go, but there will still only be three registers open. Next time you think about going to this Walmart, keep heading east down 22nd St and drive your car into the Upper Bay instead; it's a preferable alternative to stepping foot inside this store.

I work 3 jobs and the only time I get to do my errands is late night when everyone is sleeping - so thank goodness this is a 24 hour location. I have never left so offended and feeling judged in my life! I pride myself on friendliness and kindness ... and being a good stranger! This staff tonight had me running for the door feeling unsafe and judged. The men working were making comments aggressively... their attitudes were full of sarcasm and I'd be lying if I didn't admit I got to my car and shed a few tears feeling like I did something wrong and I was such and inconvenience for Asking where certain items may be *i don't think I will ever come back after tonight. What happened to just being nice?

The assistant in the site to store pick up counter was very rude. She was treating all customers as if she was doing a favor to us by delivering our packages. Aren't you guys getting paid or what? The experience was very bad and i would avoid using this walmart location in future!

I guess its consider a Supercenter because they have a full supermarket however this Walmart its pretty small in comparison to others. They do have a good selection of items and the prices are good. Since its not that big it does seem to get crowded but I still love shopping at Walmart :)
