Star R.

I love Walmart. There are many convienences as well as the lack of additional places to shop these days. I rarely frequent the store. However, I did today.
I want to start by saying I have purchased not only food here but have used the delivery from this store religiously so the 4th star is for that service as well as the items from the store that is stocked well. My previous post was leaning hard on the on store experience. Like I said I still love Walmart and hope they might listen to my recommendation.
The few human attendees at register-
It makes me very upset that I do not get paid to do a cashier's job (most stores these days). There are 20 cashier spaces and 1 human cashier. The rest are self checkout. It makes me feel we are heading towards Armageddon.
Costs are no longer as competitive-This is the Walmart founders foundation, "Supplying the community with good products at good prices."
The prices do not reflect the lack of humans working either. This department store vibe renewal has me looking at $32.00 shirt on the end cap saying, "Yeah, right." Another strange update that happened with the new renovations is no dollar amount on most tags. I find this deceptive. I was going to buy something I thought was in one priced section as per the tag on the shelf near the item. At the register it was much more and the tag for that number was nowhere to be found in the shelves. I did look.
Where's my Walmart prices? Inflation, super- inflation, government foreign trade agreemens, greed? I don't know to be honest.
Price Point vs Value-
My true issue is, I wanted to buy something for my children I thought they would really like. I've spent a lot of money at Walmart over the years and I just could not get myself to overpay for it. This made me very upset.
Endorsing brands that wouldn't had supported Walmart-
Another point I would like to make is these pop star designers who once would look down on us regular people who shopped at Walmart maybe Paris Hilton, Drew (product quality poor) or Jessica Simpson now want a part because Macys is pretty much gone!
Loyal customers being left behind?
Walmart, I am sorry, I'm trying to be helpful you are Definitely not favoring the already struggling working class, those who are smart with their money, don't like over paying, and those on tight budgets. Basically, your loyal consumers. I get the variety in price range etc. I guess the profits will prove whether it works or not.
Conclusion-
If these over inflated prices continue we will just eat less and hold onto our old clothing. I don't see it changing in other stores as well. It was just that Walmart somehow was most competitive. Not anymore.
Navigating the new store layout. The store itself appears renovations are still under way (or may be the new layout. It looks a bit strange. Like it's under construction) and I can't say it made it any better if that is the case. Very sad.
