As soon as my family and I stepped inside, we were greeted, not with a smile or a "welcome in" but with a silent point from a woman mopping the floor, directing us where to go like we were in the way. No greeting, no warmth, just a dismissive gesture. She eventually approached us with menus and half-heartedly explained that she didn't want anyone walking on the wet floor... which might've made sense, if it excused her rudeness. It didn't. She slapped the menus on the table like we were an inconvenience.
Thankfully, the young waitress who ended up serving us was sweet and attentive. She picked up on the tension immediately, especially after I asked how long the new owners had been in place. (Let's just say, my tone said everything.) She did her best- and for that, she earned her 20%.
Now for the food... it was honestly awful. Two omelets, one tasted like it skipped the salt entirely, and the fries? Burnt beyond recognition, drenched in old oil, with that bitter aftertaste that says, "we don't care." It was bad enough to make you wonder if anyone in the kitchen had even tasted the food they were sending out.
To make things even more confusing, they handed us a separate menu offering Japanese dishes. At a diner. With no explanation. The whole concept felt thrown together, like they're trying anything to survive, and failing.
If this place is owned by the same group behind Sergio's, then it all makes sense. This restaurant is a mess- poor service, worse food, and an identity crisis on top. The only bright spot was the kind server who deserves way better than this disaster of an establishment.
