Waltz - Review - Shoreditch - London - The Infatuation

"If Waltz knew that we once mixed ginger ale with vodka and called it a ‘Dark and Desperate’, they probably wouldn’t let us inside this sanctuary of reverential cocktail creation again. There’s a dramatic 12-seat wooden bar at the Japanese-inspired spot, a navy, abstract birdscape wrapping around the room, and a line-up of glassware that we’ll covet until we eventually marry into the Baccarat empire. But the real theatre happens behind the bar, and thanks to the counter, everyone has a front-row seat. video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Suited bartenders whip ice around coupes, droplets of hinoki essence are painstakingly pipetted with pinky-out flare, and a micro lemon peel heart is tweezered onto the surface of the highly sippable sake gibson. The subtly sweet and not-so-subtly glamorous vermouth and Suze ‘Brooklyn, Tokyo’ is our pick of the concise menu. Stop by for one whenever a Shoreditch date night or catch-up could do with a perma-hum of hedonism. video credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley RESERVE A TABLE" - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Some of the best cocktails in London. Each one on the menu is truly unique. The matcha old fashioned is really nice and honestly they have THE most beautiful glassware I’ve ever seen so the whole experience just feels very special.

one of the best cocktail bars i’ve been to in my life. i stumbled in at 10:30 and they were doing last call. ginto still kindly let me have two cocktails! i enjoyed the dandelion negroni and the sea buckthorn very much. two of my favourite flavours and some of the best drinks i’ve had. while i was there they were experimenting with a new irish coffee cocktail. it looked DIVINE! i hope its on the menu by the time i come back ;) also - the glassware is out of this world. be careful with your drink! 10/10 - no wonder bartenders love this place. i will be back!

Stumbled upon Waltz London during my trip and it was such a gem! The cocktails were beautifully crafted, full of flavour and served with style. The atmosphere had that perfect balance of cosy and chic, great for a night out with friends or a date. Staff were friendly, attentive and made you feel right at home. Do note there’s a 2-hour seating time, but honestly, it’s more than enough to enjoy a couple of drinks and soak in the vibe. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great cocktail spot in London!

The quality and design of the cocktails at the main bar is outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the savoury choices such as one pictured with Olive oil. The waiting area menu is a clever idea however as these cocktails are largely fizz but priced nearly the same as the main bar they are less attractive. The boutique sakes however are excellent and serve as a more authentic aperitif to the main event. Would be even better if they added some unique shochu options to this menu. The atmosphere, decor, music and service are also all top notch and make this a very pleasant and relaxing place to spend time either alone or with a partner. It's not suitable for groups.

Masterful and elegant interpretations of classic cocktails with attention to seasonality and craftsmanship. It’s a warm and stylish space that one can disappear into for a couple hours and be taken care of by the excellent team. The menu also goes the extra mile by including some thoughtful sake selections and non alcoholic drinks, like a homemade cola and kombucha. If it gets busy, there’s also a complete separate standing room menu to warm things up before a seat opens up. It will be quite impossible not to return and try the rest of the menu!

Waltz knocked it out of the park—my new go-to for great cocktails! The Manhattan was the BEST I’ve ever had, and the Last Word + Gibson were just as amazing. The Gibson’s house-pickled pickle was a perfect match, so tangy and crisp. Cozy vibe, plus the glassware is stunning. If you love well-made drinks, don’t miss this spot. Will 100% return!

Really enjoyed my time at Waltz. Tried their signature Matcha Old Fashioned — rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The matcha is whisked fresh at the bar, which adds a nice touch to the experience. The bar was busy but still had a relaxed, intimate vibe with great music and attentive staff. Small and cozy spot, so arriving early is a good idea. If you’re into thoughtful, Japanese-inspired cocktails in a cool atmosphere, Waltz is definitely worth checking out.

It’s a super cozy bar with calm atmosphere, amazing glassware and great staff members. We had to wait to be seated for about 45 minutes on a Friday night. They have some standing place to wait. While you are waiting you can order drinks from the restricted menu which is much less interesting than the actual full menu in my opinion. Wakayama cocktail was my highlight of the evening and it’s featured in both the waiting menu and the main one. It had a seeing ripe banana flavour, had fairly sweet and tasty, 5/5. Green Bull cocktail is only featured in the standing menu and was too bitter to my taste, 3/5. On the main menu, Raspberry cocktail was pretty good and has a great aroma. On the palate it was quite too subtle to me and had no deep flavours that would be opening up or competing with the faded raspberry taste, 4/5. The Peach cocktail was a nice sweet mixture of peach, carrot taste and some fragrance/flower flavour. Interesting overall but not the exact match of my taste, 4/5. Matcha old fashioned was pretty good! The cocktail had a lot of alcohol (upper bound of what I can tolerate in a cocktail) yet it was a smooth drink. Matcha flavour was mainly in aftertaste, 4.5/5. The Blue’n green cocktail tasted pretty alcoholic. It was dominated by tequila flavour and did not have much flavours opening up to me, 4/5. They also have a nice selection of sake. The staff were really nice, welcoming and stroke a great balance of communication with us and giving us space to talk. They made us feel very welcome. Overall the cocktails were unique and tasted really well although were not exceptional The prices were on the high end but one can understand why
