Recipe: Coconut and Corn Ice Cream: A Step-by-Step How-to | Eater

"A popular Southern California scoop-shop chain founded by food scientist Adrienne Borlongan, known for travel-inspired flavors that act as love letters to global ingredient combinations. The founder devotes an entire chapter to corn ice cream, championing the coconut-and-corn pairing she grew up with in Filipino desserts and highlighting a recipe that combines a silky coconut-cream base with a buttery corn jam swirled in to create bright yellow ribbons. The brand aims to normalize corn and other unconventional dessert flavors in the U.S., and Borlongan stresses that making great ice cream is a precise science—she recommends using stabilizers, careful temperature control, an online ice-cream calculator to balance fat, sugar, and water, and patience to achieve a smooth, small-crystal texture while keeping the process playful." - Kat Thompson

I wanted to try food that I wouldn't be able to eat back home on the east coast, and wow - this is definitely it! I've never seen such cool flavors at an ice cream shop, and I really like how they write out what inspired them. For someone who's lactose intolerant like me, I am always curious to see what vegan options they have - and they have so many! I would say 5-6 flavors, which is about 5-6 more than average. The staff let me try as many flavors as I wanted, and I ended up splitting a mango rice cake and strawberry gin 50/50, although the amount they give is basically the equivalent of two scoops. Regardless, it was delicious and I'd definitely come back!

Such a cute place! All the flavors were so unique, flavorful, and delicious! The server there was so kind and knowledgeable, telling us about the seasonal and popular flavors. In the end I got Vietnamese coffee and ube malt, and they were so yummy and not too sweet. The atmosphere of the place was also so nice, definitely coming back here.

This very nice screenery in the Japanese setup is the most in waiting. Yes, point for choices. We picked up the Japanese NE Put detan. Adam sau sau Rocky Road, the Pacific cost work very good. They have deals like 2 in 2 single together for each $75. The taste is fantastic and they are very unique and different from the normal ice creams. The service version was excellent and had a very customer of India. Attitude will visit again

There’s a good selection of flavors and they do allow sampling. We got a trio scoop and enjoyed our ice cream. There’s no indoor or outdoor seating, and you’re not allowed to eat inside. Love the selection of Asian-inspired flavors!

Amazing Place. An ice cream store that makes custom Asian and international flavors. I had a Japanese Neapolitan (combining matcha, hojicha, and black sesame flavors), a Filipino Ube, and a Swedish vanilla raspberry. One of the choices is a three scoop sampler, smaller scoops allowing you to try multiple flavors. I will definitely be going back!

Absolutely adorable spot! We tried the Kinder flavor and it was chef’s kiss. Wanderlust never misses when it comes to dreamy, unique flavors. 10/10 would wander back for more scoops!

First time trying it since we got a gift card. This place is pretty legit for exotic and yummy Asia inspired ice creams! We ordered Japanese Neapolitan (creamy Hokkaido ice cream, matcha and cherry blossom), Passionfruit cacao (fruity and refreshing), and black sesame (rich and nutty) and we like all of them! You can also sample from friendly staff to try and make sure you like the flavor you want. The only downside is the $7 price tag for a relatively small scoop. They do offer $7.55 for a trio of mini scoops if you prefer varieties. The onl

Wanderlust Ice Cream in LA is a gem! They offer great flavors and excellent service. While it’s a bit on the pricier side (especially for us Canadians 😅), it’s absolutely worth it. The unique and adventurous flavours make every visit a delightful experience. It’s a must-visit spot for any ice cream lover!
