"Washington Deli has ended a 35-year run. Owners Debbie and Jim Doherty announced the closure in a note on the deli’s door, saying that 'the time has come' to close the doors. The long-running deli specialized in office catering and quick take-out lunches, including white clam pizza and hot parm heros." - Tierney Plumb

Perfect crispy crust on NY style big slices, tomato sauce tastes fresh and on-point, and deli options are made with in-house made bread! As good as it gets in this area for the NY taste!

I've been getting pizza from here for about 7 years and I've never had a bad one. They use fresh vegetables and load them on. I highly recommend it. We periodically have it for lunch at work and everyone loves it- we can hardly keep the large around for more than ten minutes. They care about the quality here and Jim and Debby are always friendly.

Delicious pizza that arrived right on time. Everyone in the office loved it and asked where it was from and why we'd never had it before! They also did a good job of describing the size of the pizzas. They do indeed feed four, so I really appreciated that as well because lots of places don't specify how many people their pizzas will feed. Great local place, will definitely use them again!

While I can't say that I've actually visited Washington Deli in person, the organization I work for orders pizza from them all of the time, and I love it..! The white pesto and tomato pizza is my favorite -- so yummy! They don't receive five stars because from my experience, they never deliver at the time they say they will, and their pizzas are a little on the pricey side... Nevertheless, still worth it! I highly recommend giving Washington Deli a try!

The pizza is ok when it is made to order. It tends to be dry and flavorless when you get it by the slice. Pasta sauce has no seasonings. It tasted straight out of a can and the meatballs in my sub had a weird texture and taste that led me to believe they were freezer burned. The salad area has a big selection. Generally decent food experience. Saw a mouse near the self serve soup table.

Pizza taste good but the owner attitude is HORRIBLE.. If you have a probably serving certain clientele then maybe you shouldn't be in the PIZZERIA business. Also the additional 25 cents for credit card purchases under 5.00 is absurd!! I mean how hard is it to get Apple pay or some similar services. Also, please don't make monetary transactions then touch the crust of a pizza with the same gloves on.. That s just nasty!

The pizza is awesome. Thought I was in NY. I just got one pepperoni slice and a fountain drink to go but I wished now I got another slice or two. This place is worth traveling too. I'm definitely coming back!!!

I actually work in the building where Washington Deli is located. I bought the Groupon a couple weeks ago. The deal is you pay $5 and get 2 pieces of pizza, a cookie and a large drink. You had to buy two of them, but not only did I have $10 in Groupon credit (perfect!), I figured $10 for two lunches in DC is such a steal that I couldn't go wrong. Boy, was I wrong. Blah. After the pizza I got today, I can't say I'll be back. I got a slice of white and a slice of fresh basil. The pieces were huge, but greasy. Maybe the greasiest pizza I've ever had. I blotted each slice with a paper towel prior to eating, and it was like the grease just spread and multiplied under the paper towel. I got as much off as I could and took a bite...ick. The crust was barely crust at all. It was soggy and limp. The toppings seemed adequate, but the pizza was so bad...I only took a couple bites of each, willing it to taste better. Alas, it did not. And into the garbage they go. I wish I had my Groupon credit back.
