Washington Marriott at Metro Center

I spent a short weekend here with my wife. The staff is one of the friendliest and professional that I have experienced in my travels. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The M Club for Bonvoy members was open 24 hours and over the weekend. (rare to find a Marriott property that keeps their M Club open after the pandemic.) The staff at the M Club were a joy to speak with every time we popped in for a quick coffee, drink, or breakfast. The location of this property was just a few blocks from the Whitehouse and just 100 yards from the Metro station. This made seeing the city convenient and efficient. And the Starbucks in the lobby was the icing on the cake. Thanks Marriott for making our visit welcoming! We will be back.

My family stayed here on a recent vacation. The location is great, walkable to the mall and lots of restaurants. The room, and overall hotel was very clean. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. One particular server made my family hot cocoa one afternoon when they were setting up for dinner. He went into the closed breakfast area and went above and beyond, and it was much appreciated. We had breakfast every morning in either the restaurant or in hotel Starbucks, and it was a convenient start to our day.

Excellent choice - Solid 4 star hotel + location||Hotel is one block from subway where 3 lines cross, which in DC isnt quite the essential as in london or new york still made life easy||Walking distance to the mall, white house, smithsonian museums and the capitol one arena, and subway back when tired on our feet even if only a couple of stops but made all the difference when tired. ||Room was nice and comfortable with a lovely large bathroom. Large spacious main room and comfortable sofa seating for tv, not always what you get. ||Restaurant was ok nothing fancy, had all 3 breakfasts but didnt bother for evening meal as so many choices within a few blocks for a nice meal. ||Starbucks on site was a blessing, and wish more hotels did this! lobby seating was uninspiring but comfortable. ||Hotel happy to hold our luggage securely without charge (just a tip) when we checked out but didnt fly home until the evening. Had planned to use when arrived early but the room was ready a couple of hours early which was pleasant surprise. ||Very happy with choice, it didnt have the view of our our Niagara hotel but overall was the nicest and best value of our 5 hotels on our toronto/Niagara/ New York /Baltimore/Washington trip||No hesitation in recommending.

As a Marriott Platinum Elite member with 75 nights spent at various Marriott properties this year alone, it pains me to write that my recent stay in DC was not only my sole bad experience this year, but an absolute disaster. Despite my loyalty and extensive history with Marriott, this experience left much to be desired. From the onset, the staff was noticeably rude and unaccommodating. The real ordeal began with the air conditioning in my room malfunctioning. Despite raising concerns early in the day about the AC unit seeming faulty, I was briskly informed that no other rooms were available. Miraculously, a room did become available at 1 AM when the room became unbearably hot — around 80 degrees in the middle of summer — forcing us to switch rooms at an inconvenient hour. Further adding to the frustration, I was promised 40,000 bonus points for the inconvenience, a gesture that has yet to be fulfilled despite several follow-up calls to the management. No financial compensation or discount on my stay was offered either. This stay was not only miserable due to the unhelpful staff and a clearly outdated hotel, but it was also a major letdown from a brand I had come to trust. It's disheartening to see such a lapse in service and guest care, and it has certainly impacted my view of the brand.

From curbside to the room, this hotel met all our needs. The staff was so accommodating and kind. The hotel is updated and clean with several amenities to help with our stay downtown DC.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Absolutely enjoyed our stay. The location can’t be beat. The metro is right there with most of the lines stopping there. It’s within walking distance to lots of places. All of the staff were very nice and accommodating. We had access to M Club lounge. Breakfast was good. A good variety of hot and cold food. Evening snacks were very good as well. Was enough to serve as dinner if you’re too tired to get food after a long day of sight seeing. All of the workers in the lounge were very nice. Hotel charges a destination but you get that back with a nightly $25 food and beverage allowance. They also give you a $10 Uber credit and a hop on/hop off trolley ticket. The room was very clean and modern. They have 4 elevators so we never had to wait very long for one. The only negative is the shower water pressure is awful!

There are 2 things that stand out for us: The location, and the 24 hour lounge access. 1. The location. The hotel is literally above the Metro Center station, making it a breeze to use the Metro system. It's just 3 stops away from the Union Station and a few stops away from the Capitol. We walked to most of the Smithsonian museums nearby, all about a 15-minute walk away. Even when we needed to take an Uber to either The Wharf or other attractions the fare was pretty low. 2. The 24 hour lounge. I can't believe how much difference it made to have a lounge with snacks and drinks ready anytime you want. Its comfortable seating and variety of offerings make it a great spot to relax after a long day of exploring. It's often our 1st stop when we come back to refill our water bottles and grab an apple after a long day. The lounge also serves free breakfast and light dinner, which is a convenient option when we didn't feel like going out. Now about the regular hotel stuff, the room size is decent, and while the shower water pressure could be a bit higher, it wasn't a major issue. The bed was comfy. The staff were all super nice. Everything is just right. It's a great hotel for a family vacation in DC.

Nicely remodeled hotel. The lounge food is better than the other local Marriott locations. Unfortunately they do not offer bottled water. The downtown location is convenient

The hotel was very clean and convenient. There was an elevator just outside the hotel to go down to take the metro. There were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. We had requested a room with 2 beds but when we arrived, there was none so they offered us a room with a king bed and a pull out sofa which was actually a room for a person with a disability. That worked out fine though. There were extra bars in the bathroom, a roll-in shower and a lower area to hang clothes but also a nigher bar. The room was fairly spacious. The sofa bed also served as a comfortable sofa during the day time but unfortunately they didn't have any sheets or extra pillows in the room and you had to ask for them. There was a coffee maker in the room with a selection of tea and coffee. There were plenty of outlets for charging electronics, something I always appreciate. The TV didn't always respond with the remote right away and it was hard to see which button to push. I did appreciate the cleanliness and the location.

Super clean and conveniently-located hotel if you are here for work/attending a conference at the Convention Center, which is about a ten minute walk away from this hotel. It's also not too far from the National Mall, so I was able to run there for my morning runs from the hotel without issue! My room was clean from the start, and the only issues I faced were minor (hair dryer that was in room was not working). They do charge an early check-in fee ($40) but I didn't dispute it since I had an early morning flight in and needed to catch up on sleep. The staff was super nice, from concierge, to the doorman, to the cleaning staff!

11.24.23 I was impressed at how clean the hotel was. I am a germaphobe and on a surface level everything appeared to be clean. Decor is modern. There is a Starbucks in the lobby which is nice. The hotel entrance is through the Starbucks entrance while the hotel is being renovated. Valet and parking combo cost $50. Perhaps due to renovations, the registration desk is further in back. You reach the elevators before reaching the front desk. What I loved is they have complimentary chocolate chip cookies at the front desk. I asked if they had a limit and they said no so I grabbed three. They were delicious! They are baked daily at 4:30pm. Hubby and I literally were just there overnight so didn't really check out any of the amenities they have to offer. This was one of my favorite hotels just because of how clean and new it looked.

I will start by disclosing that I am Marriott associate, but writing this review with the lens of a patron to a hotel I have never stayed at before. Upon first arrival, we were greeted by a VERY personable bellman at the hotel entrance. Very engaging personality that made you feel welcomed even with us wheeling our own bag. Upon check-in at the front desk, found yet another wonderfully engaging lady with warm personality who even offered us cookies. I didn't realize that cookies were offered daily. A nice surprise and treat for guests. To continue about the staff, I will tell you this, the team throughout the building, no matter whom you meet, they ALL are wonderful and reach out to make each guest feel seen, recognized and engaged, even down to the littlest guests. I even observed that they had activities for children which I thought is nice since we ran into many families traveling during the holidays. We dined twice in the temporary Fire and Sage location as the hotel is almost finished with a total renovation. Even though it was a meeting space room, we were greeted and treated like Kings/Queens at breakfast. Food was delicious, served hot, cooked to order and the ladies that served us on 2 different occasions were warm and friendly, polite and efficient! Yes, hotel food is a bit pricey, but after trying 1 outside location on day 2 of our trip, paying a little extra was worth it because it was a full, complete and delicious meal that held us for a full day of museums. As far as the new renovations, the lobby is roomy and bright with many areas to meet or sit and watch people. The Starbucks is up to par, Fitness Center is spectacular with everything from Pelaton machines to free weights, Bosu Ball, weighted balls, Cable machines etc (REALLY impressive). You'll find water readily available (bring reusable bottle, but small disposable cups provided), towels and a nice pool area too. Room was modern and clean. For me, the bed was too firm but my husband was happy. Nice shower with adjustable Head and a wand, which for tall people was a blessing. Shampoo, Conditioner and body wash available as well. Our room was overly large room with a chaise lounge. I guess the only negative thing I'd have to say about the room is the lack of a closet and place to hang anything. We were caught in torrential rain, jackets were soaked along with our pants and we had no place to hang our coats, so had to utilize the 1 desk chair as a coat rack. Not sure what people would do if they bring suits or gowns for events. Id highly recommend the hotel, nice accommodations, clean, very convenient to monuments and dining establishments, but more importantly the associates that work there, you can tell they really care and enjoy working there and guests are treated with that same enthusiasm.

Just stayed here last week and was impressed. My room was clean and nice. The bed was comfy. The hotel was clean all around. The M club was really nice too. Love one that is open 24 hours and their food was good. Good variety. Def would stay here again

Any visitor to Washington DC would be well-served to stay in a hotel that is directly next to a major subway line. Only $2.50 for an easy train ride from the airport (DCA) to the hotel! I had no issues with any of the elevators. The staff was friendly. I liked the room. The mattress and pillows are the right balance of firm and soft. The water pressure in the shower is strong, and the body wash was liquid. These are all my must-haves in a hotel room. There is a Bonvoy lounge (for Platinum members and above) serving breakfast daily and hors d'oeuvres Mon - Thurs. Breakfast includes hot items (scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal), yogurt, fruits, and breads (croissant, sliced bread, English muffin, raisin toast). Beverages include coffee, tea, a variety of juices, milk. There is a fridge that is always fully stocked with various canned beverages (Buble, soda), water bottles. Evening offerings included: Cheese, crackers, alcohol, hot meals (One night was a nacho spread with guacamole, ground meat, beans, nacho cheese) There is a gym that has high quality cardio and resistance training equipment. So no need to skip leg day while you are on the road!

First time in Washington DC, that I can remember, and first time at this hotel. This hotel is in a very convenient location, which allowed my family and me access to surrounding landmarks and eateries. The staff were very friendly. Very attentive, and seemed genuinely kind. It was quite refreshing and a pleasure. Rooms: The rooms are an OK size, however, design matters. You can have five rooms lined up with the same exact square footage, but depending on how it's designed, one may look larger than any other. So the rooms are a good size, but they look smaller, because of how the bed and everything is laid out.

This place is quite dirty and serves moldy food. Bugs in the room. Disgusting hotel, truly. The staff doesn't answer the in house phones and you need to call from an outside line to speak to anyone. They book rooms on top of each other that you can hear bathroom noises from rooms next door. Hidden destination fees, then they charge on top of them requiring charge backs. Worse that the typical podunk tourist spot. Don't go here.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Marriott Metro Center. I have stayed at most of the Marriott franchised hotels. There is very few issues with any of them honestly. This one is amazing due to its great location right by the train. When visiting DC (and as someone who lived in Pentagon City in a dump (see Instrata Pentagon City)) the metro is your best bet - no need for a car But anyways, The hotel has a great lounge and I have access until the end of the year so I have been taking advantage of these and exploring them. this was open 24/7 which is great. The room was spacious for DC and priced accordingly for DC, not too crazy but it depends on the time of the year that you visit. I cannot comment on the breakfast bc I got it in the lounge but it looked good walking past. I was in room 721 and I was pleased. I stayed here for a conference, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were exceptional and met all my needs. On the first night, I ordered food at 2 AM and, as usual, forgot to request utensils from the restaurant. Fortunately, I found the staff in the lobby and asked if they could help me locate some. They graciously provided several pairs of utensils, and I was extremely grateful for their assistance. Their attentiveness truly made my stay memorable.

It didn't start out so grand, although the check-in folks (Chelsa) was great it took 3 tries to get into a room. First one desperately needed the coils on the heating unit cleaned - smell of burning hair. Second, was not of the type reserved, but the third was just right. Fairly clean - left over razor cover in the shower was not appreciated when stepped on and the couple of peanuts on the carpet were stale. This property also has a $25 destination fee, I guess if you somehow can stay there while being someplace else..... just a very poor excuse for a business practice. The Good - Location, location, location. Steps from the Metro stop, 3 blocks from the National Portrait Gallery and 5 blocks from the Smithsonian and the Mall. Recently well done remodel. Very nice M club. The Bad - too close to good shopping - gets expensive in a hurry if wife is left alone with credit card. That's my perspective - hers was different - she loved it. The Ugly - restaurant has decent food at high prices with some of the worst service I have encountered. Pretty good stay and not overly expensive but that is due to the time of year. Marriott's dynamic pricing takes some getting used to and learning when to book.

This hotel definitely has a great location if you are visiting the tourist spots of the city. However, it needs repairs and better supervision. The elevators seemed not to be working well since there was always a long wait and lines in the lobby to use them. Rooms looked old and the two queen beds seemed more like full beds. I truly don't think the beds were queen size. Some of the furniture inside the room was broken or defective. There were no USB outlets, and the TV was very small for the room. The bathroom was not the best. It reminded me of a motel room. Moreover, we were looking for advice on what to see in the area so we went to the concierge. To our surprise, she knew less about the city than we did. She apologized and told us that she was new so she didn't have suggestions and didn't know anything about bars, restaurants or entertainment to recommend. I asked if they had at least recommendations for food, She just gave me a list with names of restaurants in the area that were not even categorized. Definitely not the usual Marriott treatment. She was lost although she remained polite and was otherwise a nice person. This Marriott is not in the best shape and rates are high. There are way better options in the area, including other hotels in the Marriott chain. Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel.

This hotel was convenient to the convention center and not far from other attractions like the National Mall. All the staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. There's a Starbucks in the lobby which was convenient. I'd say the one thing that was a pain was the elevators: one was not stopping at my particular floor the entire time I was here! I kept reporting it, and they (supposedly) kept telling engineering or whomever, but it never was resolved so i finally just avoided that elevator. But it was a hassle, as that was inevitably the elevator that would always arrive! Ughhh.

Not bad. BUT Pool area has visible mold on the ceiling and on the floor. Poor area is not kept up well at all. Club lounge is ok. Room are ok but need a refresh in painting as the walls are badly banged up, bathroom shower curtain badly stained, towels a bit old/rag-like. On the surface the place looks fine but beyond the surface it needs assistance and a good clean.

Fantastic hotel. 10th floor corner room was amazing- super quiet and nice view. People next door had a screaming kid but we only heard them when we were in the hall. About 15 minute walk to most museums. Front desk and valet were super helpful. Valet is expensive- might try a garage next time. Restaurant doesn't have a lot of choices but who eats in the hotel anyway? Will be back!

Great location but they seem to have an issue with supplying the correct amount of towels for 4 nights in a row. Service left us on our last night with no towels at all. Frustrated with the service.

walked in and immediately the staff created us, helped us get comfy and gave us recommendation. Our room was very clean and comfortable. the restaurant in the lobby has good food. flatbread is bomb and i really enjoyed the double cheeseburge. the gym had a little bit of everything and the pool is great for kids(not huge and 3.5' deep) but hey a pool is always a nice option. I'm extremely satisfied with my stay here at the Marriott dc metro!!!

I had an amazing stay here at the Washington Marriott at Metro center! I was greeted with excellence by a woman named Trudy! She not only met all my needs but she went above and beyond throughout my stay to make sure I was comfortable! My room on the 15th was clean and comfortable! Thank you Marriott!

My group had a fantastic stay at the Washington Marriott Metro Center. I was traveling with a group of 25 and we had 20 separate rooms. We arrived at 11:30 and the plan was just to store bags but surprisingly they were able to accommodate us and begin assigning us rooms at 11:35, which was so above and beyond and so exceptional. I was very very thankful. The rooms were nice and well appointed. My bed was so comfortable I could've slept on it forever. Everyone at the hotel was really nice. They left chocolates in the room. They left spray for the pillows. They left water bottles to stay hydrated. All rooms came equipped with a television and a refrigerator and a Keurig. It seemed to depend on what type of room you had whether you've had a shower or a tub. I had a king room with a shower. Many of my colleagues had two beds and a tub. There was some construction going on while we were there, but it didn't really hamper anything. Having a Starbucks in the lobby, made it so easy and convenient. The only hiccup that we had was that they stored our luggage as a group and then when we went to pick it up, it wasn't properly labeled. Overall though an excellent stay.

I have to say this hotel was nice, the room was clean, not the best views at this hotel. Food was ok, not any gluten free bread or pastries, but the Starbucks in the hotel was very handy. Valet service had its good days and its bad days... it was a good hotel overall.

Stayed 2 nights here over Memorial Day weekend. It is in a nice location and right next to Metro Center station. If you need daily room cleaning, then just ask for it...lots of hotels don't automatically provide it due to Covid...it's the norm now. You can also pick up towels if you need them...again, just ask for it. There is a Starbucks located in the lobby!!! A Wawa and a Walgreens are one block away and there are many eating establishments within a 10-15 walking distance. It's also conveniently located to the National Mall. Parking is expensive and it will be cheaper parking on the street and using parkmobile.com...we got this info from the front door attendants - Joseph is a local and knowledgeable about the parking situation and general knowledge of the area. There is good value here!

An average, convenient, central location in DC. Stayed there for 5 nights during the TRB conference and this place is about a 5 - 7 minute walk to the convention center, some restaurants close by, and a metro station within a 1 minute walk out the door. Other than the location, everything else was a middle-of-the-ground or so experience. Dining options within the hotel is kind of limited; the Fire and Sage restaurant downstairs with a limited menu that was open only for dinner. There was also a Starbucks open for breakfast and lunch, and a very small sundry store with some snacks, drinks and a small number of accessories and travel items. If ordering room service, it was stated that alcoholic drinks must be ordered at the bar, which was a little unusual. Upon arrival, the doorman was very helpful and friendly. Front desk service was so-so I thought in terms of friendliness and personality, which in my opinion, makes a whole lot of how a person feels for the hotel in general. I was asked if I do not want any room cleaning the entire stay, and for a 5-day stay, that seemed kind of a long duration (unlike 1 or 2 days), and I was not offered anything of value (like points, or $5 off menu items like other hotel chains). But trying to be environmentally friendly, I accepted the offer. Room was really clean upon check-in, had a fridge, in-room safe, but no bath soap! Luckily there was shower gel & shampoo dispenser in the shower, so I suppose that worked for the first couple of days, until I asked a friendly room cleaner for a couple of soap bars and a few complimentary bottled water. Once comment about the rooms - I don't know if it was just my room type, or perhaps all room in general, but during the quiet late evenings or early mornings, you CAN hear "activities" that might be going on in the adjoining room! :o Something to consider - for me, it did not bother me very much since I was already awake. So all in all, kind of a middle-ground Marriott place.

The best thing about this hotel is location. Very close to the White House and other sights. The worst thing about this hotel - they don't take any "cash" - zip, zero, zilch! That was a surprise. No cash at the Starbuck's in the lobby either. They don't do room service, but the restaurant's Angus Berger was very good. You can order food and take back to your room. Hotel was clean and quiet. Employees were great! Great door man

Location location location!! This place was perfectly located and I am so glad my hubby landed on this hotel! We experienced great service from us just pulling up. The gentleman out front jojo was so helpful and a pleasure to chat with. The young lady behind the front counter was awesome too! We had a great time very nice room and well maintained hotel will definitely recommend this location for out of towners or staycationers like us. The only reason I am dinging this location is the price of valet is ridiculous and for a city that is DC they really need to be better about making more parking garages available. Not the Marriott fault but they shouldn't capitalize on it either

I can't begin to say how pleased I was with my stay here. Let me preface this review by saying that this was a two night stay during Thanksgiving weekend. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff couldn't have been nicer. Each and every person I encountered, from the bellmen to the front desk staff, even the random engineer I saw in the elevator, were wearing masks, said hello, and engaged me in conversation. They truly were concerned with how my stay was going not only in the hotel, but in DC as well. The room I stayed in was very (and I mean VERY) clean, comfortable and spacious. I loved the bed; it was extremely comfortable. The room safe was in an interesting location - in one of the desk drawers. Where the room safe would normally be was a mini fridge (a true surprise). The fitness center which is on the 3rd floor had everything I needed, including free weights. I got a great workout in while I was there. The indoor pool is accessed through the fitness center. They do have a Starbucks in the Lobby, but unfortunately it closes early, as early as 1:00pm on Sundays (BOO!) and they do not take cash. The nearest Metro station is Metro Center which the hotel sits on top of, but there is no internal access to the station; you have to go outside to access the station. This is my new go-to hotel when I come to DC. Truly.

It's a nasty, hotel chain location. Infested, with kids on a mission to surely ruin your day. Also they cannot seem to manage it very well, and it is an, eyesore.

I wish there was an option for 3.5 stars. Overall, this is a nice and centrally-located hotel. It's within walking distance to the metro, numerous restaurants, shopping (Macy's is directly across the street), the White House and other sites/museums. That alone was the main selling point for me. The staff seemed nice enough. However, I was disappointed in the bed. I had a King Bed room. The room itself was fine but the mattress was terrible. Only one side of the bed was usable because the mattress totally fell in on one side. Thankfully I was the only one in the room. I was so busy on my trip and every time I passed the front desk, no one was there for me to complain about the bed to. I wanted to order room service breakfast a couple of mornings, but the menu was not available on the app. I did eat breakfast downstairs in the restaurant one morning and was pleasantly surprised. It was really good! Would I stay here again? Absolutely! The only thing I'd change is to check the bed as soon as I get the room so that any issues can be resolved.

Elijah, the Guest Experience Representative gave me phenomenal experience. He is well versed in his role which made my check in process quick & easy. I wanted to change my room & he obliged with a uber engaging assist & asked that I don't hesitate to contact him for any needs I may have. The property boasts a Starbucks, 24/7 Room Service, full dining restaurant & bar - Fire & Sage (closes at 11P) with many restaurants in walking distance. Both Continental and Full Service Breakfast are offered with a $9 difference. The Computer/Printer station is next to the Concierge, there's a community lounge/work area on the other side of the lobby's bar. Other amenities include a heated indoor pool, 24/7 Fitness Center & a Concierge Lounge. There are many employees floating around waiting to lend a friendly, helping hand. My room overlooked the downtown 12th Street with distant views of the Washington Monument (the top), with comfortable beds, bathroom amenities/toiletries. Housekeeping did a wonderful job in resetting the rooms. Prime location to downtown many DC's attractions & literally a few steps from the Metro Center Station - Red Line. Just off of Elijah's service that begun my overall pleasant stay, I will make WMMC my go to stay-cay hotel.

Washington Marriott at Metro Center on 12th Street in DC is a great place to stay in the middle of everything. I really like the location and everything that they have available here. The staff here provides excellent customer service and makes sure that you have everything that you need.

Good central location within a short walk to the monuments, museums, and restaurants. The hotel was clean and our room was comfortable and perfect for the night.

The pluses: service was on point, even though they seemed understaffed. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I felt bad for some of them because they seemed to be harried due to their workload. The rooms are quiet, and the hot water is, in fact, hot. Location is great, in Penn Quarter, and there's a metro entrance in the block with access to the blue line to take you right to Reagan. The minuses: hotel is extremely dated. They may be renovating. My floor had plywood down in places over the hallway carpet. Only a couple of elevators were working, and catching one took a long time due to the insufficient service with just two working. A/c in room doesn't seem to correspond to the thermostat. There's no daily housekeeping. Restaurant is cook-to-order but with a limited, fast casual menu and no lunch service. They do have a Starbucks if you prefer to go that route.

As someone who lives slightly outside of DC, this hotel is my go-to when I have to go into the city for work or conventions. Pros: - Rooms are clean and showers are large. - Central location for downtown dining and shops - Easy check-in, rooms often available way earlier than advertised - Great rates compared to similar hotels Cons: - Parking is unsurprisingly expensive but the garage at City Center is steps away with more reasonable rates. - Walking to the convention center or other DC attractions can be slightly longer than from other hotels. Usually less than 1-2 blocks difference.

Room as clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and it had a built in Starbucks. Being that it was a hotel in the city it was solid but not what I woulda expected from the price. Like I said good hotel, great staff, but a little costly for what you get overall.

Bottom Line: Full service Marriott with a great location given the proximity to the Metro Center metro stop. Overall I really liked my short stay at this Marriott. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I can tell that the GM of this hotel is constantly reinforcing customer service because everyone was giving 100%. The room was a standard, clean and comfortable Marriott room as was the bathroom. As far as the property, it is nice that this hotel has a pool (not that common in DC) and a Starbucks in the lobby. But the reason I choose this hotel is because the front door (and side door by Starbucks) are literally just steps from the escalators and elevator for the Metro Center metro stop. Not only does Metro center serve four (Orange, Blue, Silver and Red) of the seven metro lines, it is also only one stop to get on the Green and Yellow lines. So no matter what you're planning to see and do in DC, transportation is very handy.

I stay at a lot of hotels, especially Marriott and Hilton. The Metro Marriott is a good hotel. Clean, nice concierge lounge, and a good bar area with tables and lounge seating. Some negative reviews I read complained of expensive parking. Seriously, there is no major city that you will go to where you will not be paying close to $50 a night at minimum. So to me that's not even a legit complaint. However, there is a fantastic parking garage less than a half a block away, that was among the most clean and well run I've ever used and it is literally half the cost of this hotel. So just use a little ingenuity. Otherwise, the Bellman our very helpful as is everyone else I met at this hotel. The Starbucks in the lobby is a nice plus. Being adjacent to the metro center allows you to go all over the city very quickly. I really don't see a downside with this place.

This hotel was in a great location, all the staff were helpful and went out of their way for us. The rooms were OK but I think are just starting to show age. Surprised that the restaurant was not open for breakfast only dinner. They did have a Starbucks which was open.

Wonderful hotel but the parking is outrageously expensive $50 a night they are making a bundle on parking. Wife and I are platinum elite members we only stay in Marriott holes unless of course there are none within 5-10 mile radius of where we are going. We are also Marriott owners we have stayed in a few hotels that we received a nice discount and free parking for being platinum members that should be the norm for all Marriott hotels for loyal members. It use to be that platinum was the highest now they have 2 above that. I guess everyone gets the hors d'oeuvres at happy hour now? Or there are a lot of people that have platinum and above? Even at breakfast time in that tiny little room it was PACKED I couldn't even get in to get a cup of coffee no seats and there was a line to get food. Back a few years ago you had to be gold or above I thought that it was changed to platinum and above? When we went to New Mexico we were gold members and the cocktail hour was nice you went up had a few hors d oeuvres and drinks and it was nice, got to talk to different people that traveled or business people always on the road like yourselves. This was like going to a FairField Inn with the free breakfast. We went to the Nats game and decided to just stay in town and use a free night certificate but they wouldn't allow me to use my 20000 point certificate and add 15000 points to it for the free night. The lady said that is an upgrade no it's not the price of the room is 35,000 points I have a certificate for 20,000 I add 15,000?of my own points to it to cover the point difference. I'm still getting the same room no upgrading to a different room that costs more points. An upgrade would be a 20,000 point room but you wanted a 30,000 point room instead, that's an upgrade. The original cost is 35k and again the certificate is for 20k there are no rooms in the area for that point value so we should be able to add points to use the certificate so we don't loose it????? We do have choices we chose Marriott did we choose the rite brand? Hopefully a Marriott representative will read this it dumb that we loose a 20k certificate because the Marriott's in the area we wanted to stay didn't have a room for that amount. It was nice being close to the subway to get to the game and then after the game we came back to the Hotel and went to the bar around 11:30 we sat down and the bartender said would you like a drink this is the LAST call. We were told the bar and restaurant close at 12:00 midnight? We ordered a drink and a burger they even split our burger for us both were very good. Will stay again!!

No complaints at all. We were in a prime location as we were next to the Metro Center Rail, shopping but also surrounded by all major highways, 395 and New York Avenue. We were able to find garage parking to avoid paying the ridiculous valet cost of $55 a day. The garage was $10 a say so much better and we were able to come and go as we pleased. We were able to walk to various scenes including dinner two nights, stores and even a few exhibits. The hotel was clean, our room was spacious and I enjoyed the Starbucks in the main lobby of the hotel so I could enjoy a cup before starting the day. Would definitely stay here again.

The MSU Pep rally was held here today before the 7pm basketball game. The place was full of MSU alum, cheerleaders, the MSU band and live entertainment! Light food was available along with a cash bar. The prices for liquor drinks were pretty high at $14. The finger foods were average and consisted of spinach dip, onion dip, chips, vegetable empanadas and mini mushroom tarts. Assorted cookies and brownies were offered for dessert. The event was held on the lower floor and was spacious with plenty of room for folks to move around comfortably.

Did an overnight stay and was greeted and checked in by a nice guy name Jason. He went above and beyond to welcome my husband and I. Awesome location we were able to walk to everything. Beautiful room!

Excellent experience during my stay. The room was clean, the location of the hotel is top notched, and the amenities of the hotel are hard to beat. I initially picked this hotel because of its excellent location, just a short walk from all the Washington DC staples. The hotel has a pretty nice gym and even has a pool. The room, for DC standards, is pretty large and the staff was friendly and helpful. The nice thing about the location is you can get to this hotel on the Metro from the airport. Only con really is the lack of free breakfast unless you're an elite member. Even then, you have to pay $5 on weekends to get the full breakfast option in the restaurant. Overall, not too bad. 4 stars!

I love Marriott, this Marriott is very clean and walking distance to everything. Here are a few things to note for your stay. For as centrally located as this hotel is in the heart of DC, two things stand out as annoying me: the limited breakfast in the concierge lounge , and $51 a day parking. The gym is nice and clean. They have a small heated pool as well. The front desk staff was rude when asking for hot water for tea when I was sick. overall​ I like it, but a few things can be improved.

I really can appreciate this location a lot right near the metro station. I have a new found appreciation for D.C being there this time around because I saw staff helping guide people to the right location for the metro and staff helping people on to the city buses. I was fortunate enough to find a parking spot right across the street and since the day we were parked mainly was a Sunday, it was a major win! The hotel has a Starbucks and a restaurant that is really good and open late. Win win if you ask me! The room itself is clean and nice, but the pillows are too soft and flat for my liking so sleep was not as restful as I wished, although the mattress was nice. The staff are quite friendly and very helpful. It's highway robbery that they charge $3.53 for a bottle of water though. I mean, I was thirsty and tipsy so I bought it but I didn't realize I was at the airport haha. Oh well.

This hotel is under construction for renovation, but staying open anyway. Do not stay here! It was a terrible experience. The construction goes from 8 am - 5 pm and is the sound of a jackhammer and dentist drill combined. The water was completely turned off from 11 am - 4 pm one day and the worst thing was the elevators were completely shut down two different days mid day. I had to make the walk up 7 floors in suit and tie several times. Completely unacceptable. The only saving grace is the manager was apologetic and gave me some Marriott points and the staff is polite overall. Joe, the bellman during the week was a delight. But that doesn't make up for an abysmal stay. There are dozens of hotels to choose from in DC. Don't pick one that shouldn't be open while it's being renovated. I'll gladly come back in a year when they're done but will definitely not be staying there until the constriction is complete. Rooms are passable, but lobby is dated. It needs the Reno, but the noise and disruption is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.

For as centrally located as this hotel is in the heart of DC, two things stand out as annoying me: the limited breakfast in the concierge lounge and the placement of the ramp at the entrance. I was carrying a lot of luggage and had the choice of either picking it up and taking it down the stairs or else going all the way down the ramp to then circle all the way back toward the front desk to check in. Who designs a hotel that way? Aside from that, I had no issues with the one day I got housekeeping or check-in. As for check-out, there was no bellhop in sight to help with my bags, though it was around 6 AM on a Friday. Still would have expected someone.

We are Marriott members. I'm very disappointed by this location. They are having major construction but did not put it on their site that this is going on. The valet parking can't take many vehicles and on the coldest day of the year we had to park a few blocks away at a public parking. Then our room smelled of marijuana along with the construction noise. I am writing this as we are still here. We spoke to the manager Emeiye Tefera and she couldn't offer a real solution but ohhh well about the parking. We just switched floors. I pray it's better. I don't know if I'm staying here again. Beware!!!!!!!!!!

When in D.C. for the AIPAC Policy Conference I decided to stay at the Marriott At Metro Center. First, this hotel's location is amazing. From this location you can walk to the White House, all the Smithsonian Museums (except the zoo), the National Mall, the Verizon Center, and the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. My room was on the smaller side, but nice. It includes two large and comfy beds, a comfortable chair, a large TV that was easy to use and with Netflix, light-blocking curtains, a comfortable chair and nicely-sized bathrooms. The bathrooms included all of the usual amenities though I wished they provided larger bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Everything was very clean. The staff here is excellent nearly every staff member always kindly welcomes you back or just says hello to you around the building. If you have luggage everyone kindly asks you if you need any help! My only issue was with one of the concierge who had an attitude. However, the doormen Mo and Kafali were so nice and great with directions. Also, one of the security guards doing his rounds had a nice conversation with me about basketball! Food-wise The Marriott Metro Center is amazing! They have a restaurant, Fire and Sage, which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also have a Starbucks in the lobby with an outdoor patio. Even better, is that the Starbucks is not one of these faux-ones that you see like the ones at Barnes and Noble or the ones that serve "Starbucks Coffee." I will return!
