The Water Street Kitchen was such a great surprise. The service was absolutely phenomenal and the atmosphere was classic Cape Cod. Our cocktails were spot on—my wife had the Naked & Famous and I had the Last Word. We shared the Black Bass to start, which was perfect for two and tasted incredible. For entrées, I had the Halibut and she had the Sea Scallops—both were outstanding and we cleaned our plates. Dessert was just as good with the espresso martini roll and homemade Cookies n’ Cream ice cream. Everything from start to finish was amazing. We’ll be back. Highly recommend!

Wow! It has been quite a while since we’ve been blown away by a meal like our dinner at Water Street Kitchen. Service was impeccable and everyone seemed so happy to be representing the restaurant. Each dish had different levels of flavor and the ingredients were extremely fresh. We especially loved the heirloom tomato appetizer, haddock, scallops, homemade ice ream and galette. We drove a hour to dine were and our experience made the trip worth it. Definitely check out if you get the chance.

Water Street Kitchen is a foodies paradise: so many great and subtle flavours - you cannot pick your favourite dish. A group of 4 of us went for dinner - which was great as we decided to share and really got to sample the menu. I really did love the the scallops and carpaccio the best - and the cocktails are amazing. A gem at Woods Hole that you should not miss!

We always reserve early each summer for our visit to the Cape. The haddock entree is back on the menu and is delicious (but $45!). The steak carpaccio was also very good. Be prepared to break the budget.

The moment you walk into the restaurant you are hit by the atmosphere and the most wonderful staff! The food was beyond!!! So tasty & a beautiful presentation! Cocktails were excellent as were the desserts!!! The servers were top notch & some of the most pleasant people, not to mention how accommodating they were!! If I could give a higher rating I definitely would!!!

The food itself was decent, but absolutely not worth the price given the poor service. Initially we were excited they added a table for our four legged doggo. Sadly the hostess was the best part of Water Street. A hair was found in the Arctic char. While they did remove the dish from the bill — which we appreciate — the replacement took just as long to arrive as the original, and they left the same silverware that had been used on the contaminated plate. For the high prices, you expect at least competent service. Sadly, that was not the case. Between the long wait to clean dirty dishes, lack of attention, and hygiene concerns, this place just isn’t worth it. There are better spots nearby — go there instead.

Dining at The Water Street Kitchen was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, friendly service that made us feel right at home. The ambiance is cozy yet refined, perfect for a special night out. We started our meal with the tinned mussels appetizer, which was a delightful surprise. The mussels were perfectly seasoned and incredibly fresh, setting the tone for the rest of our meal. For the main course, we ordered the sea bass and the cioppino. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, with a wonderful blend of flavors that truly showcased the chef’s talent. The cioppino was equally impressive, brimming with fresh seafood in a rich, flavorful broth that we couldn't get enough of. One of the standout aspects of our evening was the homemade cocktails. Each drink was expertly crafted with a perfect balance of flavors. The creativity and quality of the cocktails added a special touch to our dining experience. Overall, The Water Street Kitchen provided an unforgettable evening of exquisite food, exceptional service, and delightful cocktails. We can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. this was an EXCEPTIONAL dinner! make reservations in advance and be warned that parking is a bit sparse downtown so factor finding parking into your arrival time. the restaurant is right on the water so definitely recommend for a sunset dinner but we went at night and still had a wonderful experience. staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and were proud to work there which really improves any dining experience!! the food was fantastic and was maybe some of the best food i've had in massachusetts. the dessert was one of the best things i have ever had in my life - if you think a food pairing is a little weird just roll with it because the chef knows ABSOLUTELY what they are doing. DEFINITELY worth the hype (and the dollar signs!!)

We had dinner nearby at a place that does not serve dessert. We could not resist stopping by here for some treats as we have been here in the past. Luckily there weee 2 seats at the bar, every table ws seated and mostly all reserved all night. The bartender and helper were friendly and helpful and happy to serve us something sweet . My husband had a take on a fancy ice cream sandwich with high end components, all house made. I chose the deconstructed strawberry rhubarb pie and ice cream. There was a hand pie with fresh tender cooked rhubarb in a light and toasty crust. On the side was a pile of fresh mixed strawberries alongside a scoop of house made buttermilk ice cream. It was all topped off with some crisp slices of lemon and basil meringue. Perfect combo. It was perfect on top of the meal we had earlier, just a block down the street. A few years ago, we stopped in hear for some fresh appetizers, but our visits to Woods Hole are few and far between these days so reserving a full meal so far ahead is difficult. But a great idea if you plan ahead or visit frequently.

We had an amazing anniversary dinner here. Our waitress Tricia had some great recommendations for us like the duck confit appetizer, and the striped bass that I got for my entree. She was even able to tell me where the bass was caught! Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly and every person we interacted with was very kind and helpful. To top it all off, we wanted to step outside to take some pictures by the water while we waited for our food and the hostess offered to come outside with us and take our picture so we could remember the night. Absolutely 5 star service!

Just wow! Believe the hype people this is Some of the best cuisine on cape cod..not pretentiousness,just well executed food with hyper local ingredients and creative takes on approachable favorites.Friendly,welcoming service from this young professional staff.cozy room with a mix of locals at the bar to a packed dining room on a rainy march evening. I can understand why. Highly recommended if you're on the Cape any time soon or in the future.

This was hands down the best meal we have eaten in Massachusetts - not just because we ran fast today (Cape Cod marathon weekend) it was one of the best dinners we have ever enjoyed. Their menu was full of fresh, local New England food with perfect presentation. The wait staff took great care of us. This little location fills up fast so bring an extra layer if you are lucky enough to snag a seat outside. We are so lucky to have eaten dinner here, we can't wait to come back!

Scratch made everything. Great upscale bistro vibe. Recommend the Flat Iron Steak over amazing pea risotto.

This restaurant should be getting more than 5 stars if possible. The service is beyond good. Constantly did we have people to check up on us, asking how things were and refilling drinks. The food was AMAZING. Everything was fresh, flavorful and great serving size. The burger was BEYOND amazing. The restaurant has beautiful views and a great balance between formal and casual. Would highly recommend this place as a MUST visit. You will not be disappointed.

Water Street kitchen is my mums favorite date night spot and wanted to share it with me this week. Having never been there before, I was excited to see what the hype was all about. The setting was intimate. The service was impeccable. The flavor was incredible. We shared the rosemary focaccia, the seared tuna appetizer and the shrimp and grits. Everything was spectacular. From the choice in dinnerware, to the lighting, to the food presentation, you can tell that dining is a well refined art for Water Street Kitchen. Excited to comeback in the future!

Water Street Kitchen is my favorite place on the Cape for dinner! The people are always so friendly, the food is out of this world, and I love trying their creative new cocktails. It's so cozy and it feels like your own version of the "Cheers Bar" with amazing views of the sunset. Stopped in again last week and had the most delicious oysters, an incredible cioppino, and finished with their homemade ice cream sandwich--everything was absolutely awesome!

I think the best restaurant I have ever been to and my wife agrees. Here's why. Service, food, craft cocktails, menu, ingredients, I can go on and on. Service- I watched as they all worked as a team and they all attended to us at different times. The hostess made our anniversary special through out the night. The pre bussing was amazing, never an empty glass, new stemware and plates for each course. Food- Fresh, flavor, great original recipes. Craft cocktails- I never buy into them or the hype. I have been disappointed at so many restaurants. We ordered two. They were different and perfect. Menu-Just right, large menus are always ref flags. Ingredients- every ingredient complimented the other in our dishes. Chef's menu choice, bartenders craft cocktail choice! Come on!! Jessica was a pro. No one's first rodeo. Everything working right there. Unpretentious as others have reviewed. Not loud, casual, normal crowd, Everything you want. I am jealous of all the locals that live nearby. Even the desserts and coffee were amazing. Went to the lighthouse after for sunset.

One of the best restaurants on the Cape and our favorite in the Falmouth & Woods Hole area. Seasonal menu that is regularly updated. Cocktails are well balanced and interesting. Excellent wine list. Perfectly cooked dishes with layers of flavors and textures that keep us coming back year after year. The view of the bay and boats passing through the drawbridge are wonderful. Pictured is the tiki tommy, a new cocktail. The frozen grapes are smoked, so delicious! Also pictured are the crudo and cioppino (seafood stew). There was a neat squid ink bread served with the stew. Reservations can be hard to get in the summer. Plan ahead!

This is a great option if you're in Woods Hole or Falmouth, MA. The service is amazing; the food is very good, the fish pate is remarkable (remember this when you have the pickles and the mustard that comes with the pate). This is a 4 1/2 star restaurant. Our only comment are the size of the entrees, a bit too big, if there downside by 1/3, they'd be perfect. The ambiance is nice, nautic set up, with plenty of local regulars pouring in for dinner.

Food was five star. Not even a burger person and we will be back for another in the future. Juicy and the garlic aioli sauce was an amazing condiment. The bread...how is such a simple recipe so good? Better than baguette bread in France. And radish butter? It was delicious! Got an extra. The shishito peppers were a yummy app, but...it was so filling we could only eat 1/2 the burger. Can't wait for leftovers!

Love this restaurant but what happened to the cioppino. Best dish one the cape please bring it back.

Literally a top 5 place I've ever eaten at. I had oysters for an app- yummy. The sirloin steak meal was out of this world. And then .. the chocolate press pie dessert was delish. All drinks were awesome too. Service was top notch. Highly recommend.

Had some nice eats while visiting Cape Cod for a mini vacation. This place was amazing. Service is a 5, ambience is a 5, and food was a 5. This place was a casual place. We sat at a hightop in the bar area. The food was fancy and delicious. The dishes were plated creatively and all the flavors complimented each other. We loved the fancy curled grilled corn. If you're looking for some yummy creative food, fun drinks, and a casual place... This is the spot. We will definitely come back here when visiting Falmouth again. Enjoy! ~ Nini

It's so nice to find a place on the Cape that is this thoughtful about ingredients, has a wonderful cocktail menu and wine list, great service and delicious food! Sitting at the bar and dining is highly recommended as you always meet the most interesting people!

Six of us savored a fabulous holiday meal last night (Friday) at the Water Street Kitchen (56 Water Street, Woods Hole)--their "Feast of Seven Fishes" dinner. While some in our party had dined at The Fishmonger, the prior incarnation of this charming venue right at the bridge, none of us had dined at Water Street Kitchen before. We were all extremely impressed with the warmth and comfort of the restaurant itself, the attentiveness of the staff, and the high quality of the creative dishes presented by the chef for our dining pleasure. Seated promptly at 5:30, we were greeted by Trisha, our main server for the evening. Trisha was energetic, knowledgeable about the dishes and wine, friendly, and totally unfrazzled by the dining room brimming with guests. She was a delight, as were the staff who assisted with the presention of the six dishes. Dinner was briefly explained, water brought, and the first round of drinks quickly presented. Quite a few drinks were ordered at different times last night and Trisha handled that with ease--even suggesting a lovely sparkling wine to accompany the final savory course for three in our party. There were indeed seven fishes presented over five savory courses, each dish appetizingly explained by Trisha as they arrived. We started with tuna (1) and salmon (2) crudo with grilled pineaapple and yuzu salt (some in our group found the salt component of the dish overpowered the delicacy of the fresh fish, but everyone agreed that the pineapple and thai basil oil went extremely well with this opening). This was followed by lightly fried oysters (3) and fresh anchovies (4) over braised celery, rye croutons, and a light Caesar salad sauce for dipping presented in an oyster shell. Just enough to savor the slightly briny taste of the oyster which contrasted well with the rich, almost meatly flavor of the fresh anchovy. Next was a simply amazing soup--characterized as a "wedding" soup, the broth was flavored with fennel (but delicately) and prosciutto. The soup itself contained delicately poached rock shrimp (5), lacinato kale, and was topped with a generous helping of thin slivers of fried parsnip--adding a subtle element of sweetness to each bite. The soup was followed by a single u-10 scallop (6) encased in a freshly made ravioli, nestled in a parsley, garlic butter sauce containing roasted pine nuts, crisp shallots, and romanesco. Fantastic. Some in the group complained that there wasn't any bread to soak up the delicious sauce, a problem quickly solved by a consensus decision that we should all just delicately drink the sauce--which many did to obvious delight. The final savory course was a piece of cod (7) fried in tempura batter infused with squid ink accompanied bysliced fingerling potatoes, a tomato-olive conserva, all resting on top of a preserved lemon aioli for dipping. While the squid ink didn't really add anything beyong color to the tempura batter, the cod itself was fried perfectly--crisp of the outside, lusciously soft on the inside--and was totally without a trace of grease. The final course, which alas, did not contain any fish, was a light and fluffy ricotta donut filled with fig jam over a zabaione sauce infused with crispy rosemary. A surprisingly light and not overly-sweet end to a memorable meal. The three nights of the "Feast of Seven Fishes" was sold out weeks ago and for reasons we well understand after last evening's gala of tastes. Water Street Kitchen will be hosting a party on NYE and then they will close for the season. We will certainly return when they reopen to sample more of their chef's creative fare. This is my inaugural effort to take and attempt to post a few photos with my review, please be kind in your appraisal. Thanks again to the chef, Trisha, and the staff at Water Street Kitchen for kicking off our holiday weekend is such grand and tasty style.

This is one of those places where I should have just ordered 3 appetizers as my meal. We had the burrito heirloom tomato salad, the scallops, the shishito peppers and the kimchi pancake for our shared starters. All were AMAZING. I was really looking forward to the burger I ordered. The waitress said it was very good and the aioli was AMAZING. She was right. It was good (not great) and the aioli was fantastic. I think the problem with the huger was it sounded so unique and flavorful but with each bite all I tasted was a bland burger... was disappointed with it. But the appetizers really held me over. My husband got the risotto that was exactly what you'd expect and was delicious. I was kicking myself for not getting the cioppino but honestly I heard the table next to us who got it saying the lobster was very chewy... who knows. Maybe both the burger and the cioppino had an off night. I'd be willing to go back and try again! Side note - got the fig and artichoke cocktail. Sounded so strange and interesting. Just tasted like bitters. I wasn't a fan.

The food is phenomenal but getting Ray as our waiter was the real treat. I forgot my purse at the restaurant and he got on his BIKE to try to race us down to return it.. which he achieved! If you need to know anything about the menu including flavor or preparation he knows it! You will not regret your visit at Water Street Kitchen. Everybody should be a little more like Ray. - My boyfriend Thanks Ray!

Exquisite. My wife and I, and our 18-month-old daughter, went here with my parents for dinner. My wife and I were vacationing in Woods Hole, and my folks drove an hour to visit, so we wanted somewhere special to dine. For this, three separate locals recommended Water Street Kitchen. Excellent advice. From the get-go this restaurant stands out. The decor is super interesting with an eclectic mix of culinary antiques and fun nautical objects. The staff were courteous and helpful beyond even expectation, like at a Trader Joe's. Multiple employees played with my young daughter and made her laugh. It's no surprise this evening was the best behaved my girl was at a restaurant during our entire trip. And the food was superb. All the locals recommended the scallops, so our entire table ended up ordering the dish. What was served was among the best designed and balanced dishes I've ever had. All the many ingredients mixed in different and interesting ways. Complex and tasty, with perfectly cooked scallops. My father called it his favorite scallops dish he's ever eaten, and my folks live on the shoreline. Heck, even the kids' menu risotto we ordered for my daughter was delicious. The cocktails were great and the craft beer menu hit all the right notes. 100/100, I cannot recommended this restaurant enough. What a memorable evening with my family!

Wow! What an awesome experience we had tonight at Water Street! First of all, it's located on the water near where the ferry to/from Marthas Vinyard docks and next to a tiny drawbridge. You can watch the movement of the boats from most of the tables. Next, the service was top-notch. Our waitress Jessica gave us great recommendations plus she checked in with us regularly to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Next, the food. We shared the shishito pepper and pork belly lettuce wraps to start and I followed that with one of the best duck entrees that I ever had. The mixed drinks and wine selections were on point as well. We will be back!

Gorgeous location next to draw bridge- watch boats peacefully sail by! Service was great- attentive without being overbearing. Ceviche was exquisite with layered flavors of blackberry, basil, lemon. Tuna was cooked perfectly and was served with a delicious sauce. I left my sunglasses there and these amazing people shipped them to my home- I will forever be grateful as these had high sentimental value!!! Can't wait to go back!!

This is our new, favorite restaurant. The tuna entree was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. Tuna was done perfectly and each side that comes with it was amazing. We only wished that we could have eaten more: The appetizers brought to the table next to ours, all looked amazing!!! And, Jess, our waitperson was wonderful. She definitely enhanced our dining experience. The menu is small, but I think that everything they do, they do well!!! This place is the real deal!!!

Consistently delicious food with excellent service with a view of the water. Hard to beat Water Street! Menu used to rotate more frequently which was fun but everything we have tried has been on point.

A magical, charming restaurant hidden away in Woods Hole and located right on the waterfront. My partner and I have visited twice, both around the holiday season, and have had the best experience here consistently. The space is small, intimate, and cozy with flickering candles at each table (albeit fake candles) and small tables - perfect for a date night spot. The service is amazing and has always been so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Most importantly, the food here is spot on and insanely comforting without being too heavy. The dish that brings me back here is the haddock. It's served with oyster mushrooms, cannellini beans, spinach, pancetta, and a parmesan broth and let me tell you - I would drink buckets of this broth if I could. There's a hint of acid (I'm guessing from lemon?) that makes this so light and delightful and each time you get a bite of fatty pancetta, it makes your taste buds come alive. We also tried the pork belly small plate with sweet potato puree and it was an absolute treat. The pork belly is so rich in flavor, fatty, tender, and falls apart in your fork. You can dip it in the sweet potato puree and the balsalmic glaze and goodness, are you in for a good time. I also tried the shoyu ramen and while it was good, the haddock definitely takes the cake on best supper menu item to order. Now, onto the most unexpected part of water street kitchen - the dessert menu. Last year, my partner insisted on ordering an ice cream sandwich to which I silently rolled my eyes - how good could an ice cream sandwich really be when there are so many other desserts to choose from? Ladies and gentlemen, I was wrong. This ice cream sandwich is like no other - the sandwich part is rich, chewy, chocolatey brownie and the homemade ice cream is the best ice cream I have had in this entire world. The texture is somewhere between icee with tiny bit of ice cream ice and creamy, but the vanilla bean tastes so fresh and so real. This year, we also ordered mint ice cream on the side and you could really taste the sweetness and menthol of the fresh herb mint leaves inside. Highest recommendation for water street kitchen - this place is 10/10!

Our meal was just meh, but the service and bustling setting was great. We chose this for a Friday night meal for our cape cod getaway. The place is decidedly casual with more of a bar vibe than white tablecloth. That being said it's upscale bar with wood and a nautical flair. Our server was attentive also though clearly working hard as it seemed a bit understaffed. Food was so so. My husbands ciopinno was lacking broth and flavor. The texture of the seafood seemed dry like it had been frozen badly. My short rib burger was kind of slimy and mushy: just not very appetizing. The fried tofu appetizer was great as was the strange dog artichoke drink. There are not a lot of options for dinners around woods hole but we probably wouldn't pick this one again.

Dined here on June 3, 2022. Great spot for dinner. Great spot for drinks.  Wait staff is very well informed, professional.  Dinner entrees were excellent! Vegetable risotto cooked to perfect tenderness.  Nicoise gave melt-in-your-mouth tuna and perfectly al dente vegetables.  Repeat: A Must.

This is a new restaurant that opened up around May 2016. It comes with high review, and therefore, not easy to make a last minute reservation on weekend. We were lucky enough get one by becoming early birds. We don't mind eating dinner early, that gives more time to digest before going to bed! This restaurant is sitting on the water, so you get a great view of the water if you get a table by the window. One thing to note, they will not seat you until your party is complete. So, if you are meeting up with people, make sure everyone is on time. The surprising thing about this place is that they do NOT offer complementary bread. If you want some bread, you need to order them. I can kind of see a good reason for this - for there are many people who don't really eat much of the complimentary bread, and therefore they go to waste. If you have to pay for it, then you feel like you really ought to eat them, and not waste them. Everything we ordered - drinks, dinner, desserts - was very tasty and beautifully presented. Good portion size, and we were all very satisfied with our order, and completely full. I am so glad to see new, wonderful, yummy restaurants opening up in this area. Although they are a bit pricey, but the quality is high, both in food and service. It is a "relax and enjoy" type of place, so the service is not fast, or I should say it is "not rushed." I would like to go visit again for some more delicious dishes!

Best Restaurant on Cape Cod hands down. Chef and staff are amazing and the atmosphere and food are exquisite.

We are from Cape cod and knew this previously to be Fishmongers. This was suggested to us by family that still lives here on Cape cod as a decent place for dinner. It was not good. If you are a foodie, move on and do not eat here. If you are metza metza and do not really care about quality, then you might be happy. The staff never even asked us if we were happy with our meal, even though, we left much of it. Very disappointed.

The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, prompt and attentive. Woods hole is classic Cape Cod. My only complaint was the menu selection was too limited for my liking.

My husband and I are super-foodies and have enjoyed some INCREDIBLE restaurants all around the country. Our experience at Water Street Kitchen is definitely top 5 meals, and maybe top 3. The atmosphere is glowy and a perfect blend of old Cape Cod meets new boutique-y restaurant. Every dish we ordered (and we ordered a LOT) was better than the next- The bluefish pate was something I wasn't expecting to LOVE but I really did; it's bitey with the addition of spicy mustard and is the perfect match to the sweet pickles and fragrant garlic bread with creamy fish. The little gem salad is simple but the flavors are developed. The kimchi pancake was added at the suggestion of our excellent server, Jessica, who was so engaged and the perfect balance of available-but-not-annoying, and it was SO good, served with a rich, thick soy sauce. The true test of a restaurant, to me, is always the execution of entrees because I feel like it's easier to get an AMAZING appetizer, and most appetizers feel dull and muted in comparison. This was NOT the case here. We ordered the Tuna Nicoise and the Steak and wow: Every flavor was thoughtful and bold, but in an approachable way. The rare seared tuna and the medium rare steak were cooked to perfection, and the accompaniments to the entrees were obviously thoughtful- For the tuna, the traditional nicoise salad of greens, black olives and a jammy egg were partnered with less-expected elements like tempura-fried green beans and a to-die-for aioli with boiled but crispy potatoes. The steak was sliced atop a bed of broccoli rabe, which was cooked to remain firm, but not raw, and spiced roasted sweet potato spears, all in a perfect-ratio luxardo cherry reduction that was tangy, rich and smooth. We didn't need dessert, but after a meal so extraordinary, we felt it would be a disservice to NOT get one...so we got two: The ice cream sandwich at Jessica's recommendation and the chocolate pots de creme. Both were fantastic, but the ice cream sandwich in particular blew us away with it's dense brownie-like flourless chocolate cookie exterior and uber-creamy homemade vanilla ice cream on a plate of not-too-heavy but totally decadent hot fudge. Oh- and we're not drinkers, so are always looking for flavorful non-alcoholic options. We had a "mocktail" of peppermint and chamomile tea with a spritz of bergamot which was light and a perfect addition to a perfect meal. Can't highly recommend this place enough. We'll be back, over and over.

The service and food were both amazing! They are asking all patrons to wear a mask, whenever interacting with the servers. We sat outside and felt very safe and comfortable. Our server was very informative and helpful. Been here twice, and both times everything we have ordered was delicious! Would definitely come back again, and hopefully in the future post COVID to sit indoors.

Always a great meal with creative drinks. Service is thoughtful and efficient. It is one of the best dining experiences on the Cape.

Delicious food. The menu varies nightly. You need a reservation. The wine list is great. I really enjoyed the small bar while we were waiting for a table.

Run Dont walk to this adorable and delicious spot! We sat at the bar and were able to watch the action in the kitchen, which I always enjoy. I got the Corn risotto which was filling yet fresh and light. My other dinner companions got the burger (which he said was at least one of the best he's had), the haddock with white beans (which I sampled and oh mylanta, that broth was heavenly), and the steak which was perfectly seasoned/cooked and the sauce truly elevated the meal. In addition to the amazing meals, the bartender - I think Lauren was her name - served up some delicious cocktails both on and off menu, and she made a really delicious suggestion for what to pair with dessert (we split the cherry galette which was also phenomenal). I wouldn't change a thing other than next time I'll make reservations!

Lovely ambiance - fried chicken was bomb. Recommend for those special occasions, it's a treat!

Four of us were all disappointed with our unexciting and expensive dinners. Two of the dinners each had at least 5 large (boiled?) potatoes! A shame - this unassuming waterfront spot used to be a treat.

We came here for dinner but it was the desserts that STOLE show show!!! OMG I can't even TELL you - all THREE were the best I've EVER had, and fine dining is a hobby over here!! We had the rhubarb hand pie with buttermilk ice cream, the ice cream sandwich (OMG!!!), and the plantain cheesecake and holy MOLY (trying so hard to keep this review PG over here) they were in-freaking credible!!! When I couldn't quite finish the last few bites, and I really mean just a few bites, of the cheesecake, I actually asked for a condiment container to take it back in. And as I nibble at it a few hours later YES, it was absolutely worth every bit of embarrassment. On the food - we shared a bunch of small plates and an entree of cioppino. To be honest, we weren't blown away by any of the small plates. The best one was the pork belly... the eggplant/bok choy was mushy in texture and with too strong of flavors (and I like strong flavor), none of us liked the pork beignets, and the baby gem salad and grilled oysters were very good but not, say, destination worthy. The cioppino was very good, but it's not my thing so I can't really rave about it. I think based on other reviews and based on the desserts we ordered wrong or maybe they had an off night. Because the desserts were literally out of this world. Service was also perfection - friendly, helpful, and at just the right pace. Overall - great meal, and I think on a different night would be easily one of the best ever.
