Our recent visit to Waterfront Hambleton Inn Bed & Breakfast from June 3-6, 2024 was our third stay. We enjoyed everything about this wonderful B&B: beautiful decorations, first-rate features, balcony, location, and best of all, Chef Patrick. He makes the most delicious breakfast and cookies for the afternoon. The owner, Debra, is very friendly and helpful, she is available to answer questions about St. Michaels and help with your accommodations. This B&B is the only Select Registry in St. Michaels, it is worth the extra money and you will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend and it was incredible! We had never stayed at a bed & breakfast before and this experience was more than we could have imagined! Debra was so accommodating! We got stuck in traffic and arrived late, but she welcomed us and made us feel right at home! The entire place was beautifully decorated with gold accents everywhere! Our room was so nice! The chef and his daughter served an amazing breakfast! They are awesome!! The fresh cookies that are available 24/7 were dangerously delicious! You can’t walk by without grabbing one. We sat on the balcony rocking chairs the first night we were there and it was so peaceful. It is the perfect spot to be walking distance to lots of great shopping and restaurants, but then you can tuck away to a nice quiet space with a waterfront view. We parked our car on Friday and didn’t move it until Sunday when we had to leave. If you’re looking for a nice weekend getaway, this is the place to stay!

What a gem! Perfect location, a very short walking distance to Chesapeake Maritime Museum & Talbot street where a bunch of shops & restaurants are. The property sits very close to the water & has a lovely sitting area next to a marina. Check in was very easy & accommodating. The inn is stunning & rooms are beautiful! Everything was clean, nicely decorated, & functioned. The upstairs porch is a wonderful spot to relax & breakfast is spectacular (served at 9am). I loved staying here!

My wife and I decided to return after five years because we loved the setting and location. We honestly did not expect to be so overwhelmed by how beautifully the recent renovations transformed the inn into a historic masterpiece. Debra's hard work and attention to detail stood out wherever we looked. And Chef Patrick made each breakfast a special occasion. We can't wait to return!

Just spent 4 relaxing days in St Michaels at the Hambleton Bed and Breakfast. This was my second visit, but will surely not be my last. Debra is a very welcoming and accommodating innkeeper and makes you feel right at home. Chef Patrick’s breakfast dishes are exemplary. I highly recommend and encourage you to book your next trip at this wonderful B & B. You’ll be glad you did. Jeffrey Davis

The owner/innkeeper does a masterful job at covering all bases. She is warm and gracious upon meeting you. She has thought of, and delivered, on a myriad of tiny details and niceties that add up to a incredibly lovely experience. I will definitely be going back for another visit!

If I could give her 10 stars, I would. The Owner was a wonderful host in this historic waterfront property. The room was so clean, beautiful, it has everything one can think of; from bathrobe to soft makeup towel. If you're looking for something elegance and vintage, this is the place. What I enjoyed the most was the breakfast offered in the mornings by a wonderful chef Patrick. The lemon cookies are so delicious - even though we go to nice restaurants for dinner, we really look forward to breakfast to see what the chef create for us. We will come back in the future. Thank you!!

My husband and I loved our romantic getaway to the B&B, which was right on the water. Debra was so welcoming and provided us with great information for our first visit to St. Michaels. She gave us great recommendations on places to eat. This B&B is the absolute perfect location - park your car and walk anywhere you want. The locals were so friendly - speaking as we walked on the streets. And let's not forget Chef Patrick - oh the food was sooo good! We will definitely go back for another staycation.

Yelp
This was one of the nicest B&Bs we have ever stayed in. They were ready for us arriving early on Friday and went out of their way to ensure that was possible. Our room was a nice room with waterfront view of the marina and a porch with rocking chairs just outside our window. Nice sized restroom as well in the room. The breakfast was 5-star with caviar and toast points, and a main course I had never tried before. You cannot beat the location right next to the Chesapeake Maritime Museum that hosted the Sea Glass festival we came for. We will be back for certain!

Yelp
Wow. What a beautiful place!! Came in by boat to a slip for the Inn. Gorgeous B&B and the staff was amazing from start to finish! Rooms are exquisite and it's perfect because it's so close to everything and within walking distance to great restaurants! We had a lovely breakfast from an outstanding chef! We felt like we were on our honeymoon again. Everything was just perfect and we definitely be going back every year!! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!!!

Yelp
Great people! Great food. Lots of love!!! As soon as you wake up in the morning there is a warm cup of coffee with a kind smile to great you with! Sherry and her husband have been doing this for years! I have been to many inns in st michaels but I keep coming to the Hambleton because of the people and the way they treat you with love, respect and dignity. Sherry has owned many businesses in her life time and Charles ( her husband) has been and high education and business from chairman of elite colleges and and schools across America. They have 3 kids that are successful who are entrepreneurs of business. I wouldn't hesitate about coming here. Cute and beautiful water front estate with great people and food. What's not to like?

Yelp
We stayed here for a friend's daughter's wedding and couldn't have been more pleased. The new owners have completely remodeled this historical gem and it is amazing. The guest rooms are spacious and the en suites are updated and modern. The owner has showcased the history of this beautiful home and it really shows. There is a beautiful deck and fire pit down by the water which was the perfect place to end the day and visit with other guests. Breakfast was outstanding with homemade scones, yogurt parfaits and excellent coffee and a variety of juices. You are 2 blocks from everything downtown so easy walking access. This is an upscale but affordable treat for anyone traveling to the St. Michaels area!

Yelp
Just visited St. Michaels island this past weekend and had the amazing pleasure of being a guest at the Hambleton. Gorgeous location on the waterfront, beautiful rooms and wonderful hosts! We will definitely be back to St. Michaels and when we return, well be staying at the Hambleton!

Yelp
Spent a long weekend in St Michaels in early April. The Hambleton is within easy walking distance of all of the shops, restaurants, and sights in St Michaels. It's literally steps from the entrance to the Maritime Museum. Sherrie and Charles, the innkeepers, are beautiful hosts and they personally served us the most wonderful breakfast each morning - baked apples, bacon and eggs, home fries, banana cake, blueberry pancakes, strawberries and cream, and pound cake are just some of what I remember (and Charles always at the ready with seemingly endless supply of hot coffee) - we were definitely overfed! Really enjoyed breakfasting each morning during the weekend with three other lovely couples. Our particular room (the Queen Anne) was a little small, but adequate, and had a private bath. We had actually intentionally selected the least expensive room in the inn. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and were the only guests at that point, so we took a peek into several of the other rooms. All were very nice and perhaps a little more spacious than the one we stayed in. Were we to visit St Michaels again in the future, I don't think we would stay anywhere other than the Hambleton!

Yelp
We absolutely loved everything about the Hambleton Inn. The rooms were pristine, the location is perfect (within walking distance to many restaurants and shops), and the innkeepers were so friendly and available to give their advice. Make sure you stay for breakfast! Sherry cooked an asparagus quiche one day, and an INCREDIBLE french toast dish the next. Sherry even gave us a bag of food to feed the ducks on their dock one morning. I'd recommend the Hambleton Inn to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway!

Yelp
My husband and I just wanted a little get away for the night and boy were we enchanted! Our princess room was just what we needed. The charm of this hotel was spectacular, the views of the water beautiful, the breakfast spectacular and the owners so welcoming. I slept very well and when we woke to a three course breakfast I made a mental note to come here more often. Sherry, we loved everything about our stay, including your wonderful hospitality!

Yelp
In addition to the concerns we (four guests in two rooms) expressed in our email to Sherry - the inn-owner and manager - we also had very creaky beds in rooms 3 and 4. And even though I sent her two separate credit card numbers to charge separately for each room, she charged one credit card for the total amount. Also, I clearly recall that we went down at 9:30 am and not 9:55 am as claimed (but even if we did so, should be rushed out of the breakfast room?!). Her defensive response was very inappropriate. In summary, this was an unpleasant experience. Sherry also failed to mention that room 3 did not have a separate bathroom. We discovered on arrival that the bathroom had a swivel door which provided no privacy whatsoever. Here is the email correspondence which is self-explanatory! Please read from the bottom-up. ------------------------------------------------------------------- From: innkeeper innkeeper@hambletoninn.com Subject: Re: regarding our stay over the weekend. Date: July 31, 2013 8:18:28 AM EDT To: Guests THanks for writing us. I'm so sorry you had concerns about your stay. We would love to have you come again, and hope that you will endeaver to do so. Being on the water is such a special experience. I can't respond to the issue of the bathroom, as I did not see it with you, but I can assure you I cleaned the bathroom myself, and thought it was ready for you. I apologize if it was not. In terms of time, we never want our guests to feel rushed; the Eastern Shore is a place where one can just relax. But we have a very busy property, and check in and check out times are important to follow. You did check in early though, and we were happy to have you, but then your party came down to breakfast at 9:55 am, with just 5 minutes left in our breakfast service. Perhaps you didn't see the coffee and breakfast times on the back of your door. THanks for taking time to write to us. Have a good week. Sherry On 7/30/2013 6:15 PM: Dear Sherry, I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to thank you for opening your B&B to us this weekend. I had a bit of time to reflect and wanted to provide you some feedback about our stay. My friends and I were supper excited to have arrived to such a beautiful property and felt very lucky to have found a gem of a place to spend our very special overnight trip. We celebrated my birthday and our friendships. I wanted to give you a bit of feedback, as I am not sure how your B&B operates. I stayed in room 4 and the bathroom was not clean. In fact, before we left for our dinner, I tried to peek my head in to ask for it to be cleaned. However, I did not find you and I did not want to walk into your private court. So we had to stop and purchase cleaning supplies and clean the bathroom ourselves in order to be able to use it. For that reason, my friend and I did not use the shower facilities. Although we truly appreciate your allowing us to check in early, I felt quite rushed out at breakfast. Again we realize that you probably had check-ins and we needed to give you your space back, but the feeling was not a pleasant one. The reason I normally choose to stay at a B&B over a hotel is for that special personal touch... And I am not sure if I felt I received it. I just wanted to provide you with feedback regarding our stay. Regards, Residents of rooms 3 and 4

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay at Hambleton Inn. It's on the water and has upscale linens and furniture in the rooms. Top notch gourmet breakfast... Sherry is a wonderful cook and we loved our talks with her and her husband each morning. We must go back... and highly recommend.

Yelp
It was truly a beautiful and wonderful weekend getaway. My boyfriend and I went for our two year anniversary and had a great time. The place was beautiful, clean and right on the water. Also, the famous ferry boat and museum on the island are right in front of the place! Although, if you are a picky eater, heads up, the food is very high end and not for picky eater! haha
