"Waterloo Ice House has been an Austin institution for almost 50 years, and in that time they’ve expanded to four locations around Austin. We’re fans of the location off 360 and 2222 for its spacious dining area and large patio (with a playground for kids), but whichever one you end up at you’ll be able to enjoy a pretty wide-reaching menu of burgers, steaks, tacos, and breakfast platters, plus a solid Happy Hour on weekdays." - Nicolai McCrary

Great neighborhood location serving up good food. Staff is friendly and attentive. Today they are having a crawfish boil with a live band!

June 2025 Tried the Grilled Salmon and it was very tasty with nice flavor. It was a healthy option on their menu. September 2024 Waterloo Ice House Escarpment is very family friendly where can enjoy casual food and playground. The adults can sit in the bar where always enjoy excellent service. I am a regular here and always have a great experience. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich with Hand-Cut French Fries. It was a large sandwich and was good. The place is always kept clean and sports are always being show on the TVs.

This place is really good. This is the third time we’ve been here and the food is good all the time. This time our waiter was Cole. He was a trainee but so friendly and polite. We always get the cheddar cheese queso fries and it’s really good. Last time for main course I had a veggie Sammie and my husband had a grilled chicken sandwich. This time I had a Swiss patty melt substituted with garden patty and my husband had the crispy chicken sandwich. The food is always good. They have a great dining area and a lot of seating options. They also have a great outdoor seating area. A great place to celebrate a special occasion or even just chill out with friends. Will we definitely back soon.

This is a casual, family place with a variety of food options. We had the meatloaf and the pork chop dinners, and both were great. The pork chop was my favorite. It was thick and so tender and moist. There was live music that, although a bit too loud, was enjoyable, and on a Tuesday evening! There is also a bar area and a separate back room.

Google
The food is good, not great. Extensive menu that has something for everyone. It’s there to be a neighborhood place for people to eat together while the kids can play in their easily accessible play space and it fits that bill well.

Waterloo is a great go-to place for standard American eclectic fare. From burgers to breakfast and Chicken Fried Steaks to full blooded cocktails, they have you covered for any hankering. I find myself going here about three to four times a month. My main choice of dinner entree is the Chicken Fried Chicken. For breakfast, I choose the scrambled eggs and biscuits with gravy. The biscuits, I should note, are huge and hearty; basically a meal in themselves. I can confidently state that 90% of the time Waterloo is spot-on with quality dishes, clean atmosphere and friendly wait staff. However, on this particular visit, my companion ordered poached eggs that were served under cooked, which was a rare error. Now you may say that poached eggs are supposed to be runny, but they should not resemble egg yolk soup! This small glitch in the system is easy enough ignored, though, in the long run. The restaurant also does well with catering to children, they have an attached playscape and playground area. Stop by for a weekend brunch on the patio and let your children run and play off all that excess energy while you watch from the table sipping on your favorite libation. Enjoy! Chicken Fried Steak review - nice breading to meat ratio with thin but crispy crust. The meat was medium tender, a knife was required but there was no chewiness to the meat. The cream gravy was lumpy, but I requested gravy on the side so it was not a deal breaker. Go with the mashed potatoes and a side salad. The cilantro lime dressing is tasty too. Chicken Fried Chicken: stopped in for a quick lunch and this dish was perfectly prepared and delicious. I preferred the chicken to the steak. The baked potato was also done perfectly today. Topped off with a cilantro ranch side salad and a friendly and attentive server… made for a fantastic lunch.

Went for brunch. Hadn’t been in a long time and had a small kid in tow so wanted a place with a playground. It’s a pretty good playground too. Food was decent. I got brunch. Solid hash browns and poached eggs were perfectly done. Bacon surprisingly good (most places it’s either too floppy). Only disappointment was the biscuits and sausage gravy. Brisket looked very nice but not much flavor. Sausage grave was very bland but at least it wasn’t lumpy. All in all a good experience and will have to get this spot back in rotation. I wish Waterloo still did the cinnamon chocolate shakes like when they first opened. Those were amazing and I’d come in weekly if that was still a thing.

Google
Loooove this spot for cheap/good frozen margaritas, good food and awesome place for my toddler to play. They have a vast menu for me and my toddler and plenty of alternatives for healthier options. Hailey H was an awesome server, she got us everything fast, kept the drinks coming and closed us out including a box when we needed it; When a toddler is ready to go, it’s time to go. I truly appreciate your excellent service, when we visit this Austin staple that’s just down the street from home ❤️

Yelp
We came here for happy hour. They have happy hour and reverse happy hour all weekdays and more daily specials every day except Friday. We sat at the bar and had great service from the staff. It was neat to see the regulars and bar staff talking and acting like family. There was some music (they had a great playlist), but you could still hold a conversation. They also have an awesome playground so the kids can play while you wait for food! We had their Pinot Grigio wine off the happy hour list. It was refreshing and had a good taste. We tried their frozen margaritas. They were good, but not our favorite. We split the Bar Nachos and Fried Pickles off the happy hour menu. The fried pickles are the chips (the only way to have fried pickles in my opinion). They are thinly sliced and a little salty which added a great flavor especially with ranch. The bar nachos were also good. Unfortunately, the black beans were all sitting at the bottom and we didn't realize it until we were finished with most of the chips. So if you do get the bar nachos, make sure to mix it up before just digging in blindly! Both plates came with hearty portions, especially for the price. A lot of other things on the menu looked great. We definitely want to come back and try other menu items. Next time we might bring the kids to check out the playground!

Yelp
Got a pretty simple to-go order this morning that included hash browns in a breakfast order and as well as a side of hash browns Unfortunately, both of these hash browns were terrible - we each took one bite of the hash browns, and they were inedible (they were tough and tasteless - not sure if they were dehydrated or what) This was the most disappointing visit to Waterloo ever

Emma B.

Yelp
My husband and I had never ordered takeout from Waterloo so we decided to do so Tuesday. I had the tortilla crusted catfish with fried and coleslaw. My husband had the chicken ranch tacos. My husband said his was "okay " but my catfish was tasteless, the French fries appeared to be old and the coleslaw bland. On top of the excessive prices for subpar food they charged $2.30 to bag it. We won't be ordering anytime in the near future. It's sad because Waterloo used to be a great hamburger joint.

Zachary S.

Yelp
Stopped here for a late Brunch with the wife and kids. There are plenty of different options whether you are visiting for breakfast, drinks, or lunch. The food items were fresh and simple (indicating healthier) while still having good flavor. I had the hash, which I would characterize closer to home fries with fixings. My wife had the classic breakfast taco, which was good, but not enough for lunch on its own. The staff was generally attentive. I wasn't a fan that their portable pay system didn't show you the breakdown before paying, but the print out was fine. Otherwise a place for kids. Mickey Mouse pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausage or bacon with drink at a reasonable price. Also a good place to get some energy out at the play place. Only wish they had seating near the play place to let the kids play more, although I could see that being quite warm.

Jamie P.

Yelp
The food is hit or miss. This last visit I ordered their crispy chicken sandwich and tater tots. Their tots were flavorless, but had a good crunch to them. The crispy chicken sandwich was a bit dry too. Their burger on the other hand was good. Service is also hit or miss. Our server was fantastic. She was attentive and kind. There were a couple employees chasing after each other with whipped cream, almost spilling it on customers and making a scene, and then they continued to argue. It was awkward. I'm all about having some fun, but there's a time and a place for silly.

Sam G.

Yelp
What a great establishment in South Austin. I know from friends that have lived here for a long time that this place is a long time staple in the Austin area even though this is an expansion store and not the original in North Central Austin. It's bar food but it is a little bit better and definitely on the upper end of what you typically would expect. All the fried food is exceptional and has the perfect amount of breading and is fried to a Golden crisp. The tater tots and the breakfast items are also very well done. So many options to choose from I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Karah K.

Yelp
Food is always amazing! We love it here for the friendly environment and playground! But today was different.. we got there around 10:00 and let them know we had a big party ( 16 people) they said 11:00 would work.. well 11:00 came and they were very annoyed at us! Our tables were not ready until 11:39 and some people couldn't stay for lunch. The manager was very rude to us about the tables. We gave them ample time. We go to this location every week, but after this interaction I'm not sure anymore.

Craig C.

Yelp
Tonight we had a new item park chop seated and then baked mashed potatoes and green beans with Texas toast and it was great. We never had it before and it was tender and flavorful. Grandchild had macaroni and cheese with fruit cup and it was good.

Paul D.

Yelp
This time I once again had the Fish 'N Chips where the menu described the fish as hand-battered, crispy, light & delicious. It was served with hand-cut french fries, jalapeno tartar sauce & malt vinegar and for the first time a Yuengling Flight. It was a perfect choice as I sat at the bar. It is a great option if you want to be separated from kids where this place is very family friendly with a playground in the back. The fish tasted very good and easy to dip into the tartar sauce which both had great flavor. Just the right amount of fires compliment the meal. Meanwhile I enjoyed the light taste of the beer and was quite good.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
I've been here twice for lunch and both times were pretty good. I wouldn't consider the food amazing but I think that could be because their menu is so extensive that they couldn't possibly perfect any of them. It's nice for people that like to have a lot of options. They have a children's playground out back that is nice to have for the kiddos that can't sit still at the table! Service has always been good. The Blueberry Refresher cocktail was exactly what I wanted - something fruity/citrusy that was refreshing on a warm day.

Ronnie W.

Yelp
We ate here twice while visiting family. The first time they told us it would be about 20 minutes and it was much faster and they were packed. The second time we went right in. The first lunch, I had the Peppercorn Blue Cheese, delicious wine sauce with bleu cheese crumbles. The second lunch I had "The Works" burger. Big slices of bacon and large jalapeno slices covered this large burger. Both meals I enjoyed the sweet potato waffle fries. Our table ordered the Gringo Tacos, a patty melt, the Pulled Pork sandwich and the Waterloo Salad. No complaints about any dish. The service was good, the food was great and we really enjoyed our meals.

Marissa G.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to stop by Waterloo for breakfast. We walked in and there was a sign to seat yourself so we walked through the main dining area to the back that looks out onto the playground. I liked the bright and open atmosphere. After we sat down within a few minutes someone came to greet us and take our drink orders and give us menus. While looking at the menus another person came over to check in on us. When our waitress came back she brought us our drinks and took our order. I ordered the Waterloo Has which had seasoned potatoes, avocado, chives, green and red bell pepper, a choice of bacon, ham, sausage, chorizo, or veggies topped with two eggs. I chose Sunnyside up eggs. The hash was decent. I loved the eggs and the potatoes and bacon mixed together. I could barely taste the chives and bell peppers. The Avocado was a nice fresh ingredient to add to it. My husband ordered Kimi's Chicken and Waffles. He said that the brown sugar cinnamon sugar and maple syrup made the meal good. He said that the chicken tenders were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I'd say that the atmosphere was bright, the service was good, and the food was decent. For families a plus is that they have outdoor seating and a playground for kids which is great on sunny days.

Yelp
Update *****Thanks for reaching out customer service is clearly where you shine it was a few weeks back in a Wednesday the food included fried fish chicken strips and some other stuff there were 8 of us that got sick I'm not sure what all everyone ordered but the group chat after was clear never get deep fried food clearly cross contamination happened off raw /under cooked goods or 8 out of 11 people would not have had that reaction ***** Under cooked fried foods i went with a fairly large group the servers were amazing but the food is why you go 8 of us got ill a few hours after all 8 has fried food hmmmmm the 3 that didn't get sick did not have fried food sorry not a good thing to have as the 1st time you try a place

Alisa P.

Yelp
I LOVE Waterloo. For any meal breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. The service is always great and I love the variety of the menu, especially as someone who's gluten-free. Their cinnamon pecan gluten-free pancakes are to die for.

Russ I.

Yelp
Best family oriented restaurant and perfect for all ages. Very affordable menu, great burgers, Tex-Mex and soups. Excellent long term staff, great playground - kids just love this place! Local soccer teams, dance students, and a favorite stop for our firemen. Cool merch, gift cards, and ask about the pies! Never a dull moment. Its my first choice for family and friends.

eric c.

Yelp
Coming here for over a decade. Kids used to play outside on the playground/fort We had a drink and an app just inside where we good still keep an eye on them. Fast forward to last week and 2 of our sons had drinks and apps with us while we watched part of the football game. Pretty nice for a spot to be both good with small kids and adults. Service was friendly, food was pretty quick and very tasty. Everyone was happy from chili to burgers to salad to chicken.

Adriana B.

Yelp
For a nice neighborhood this restaurant is in very poor taste when it comes to ambience and food quality. The only positive is that a has a playground i. The yard which is nice for some. The service was good, we had a nice waiter but won't be back because of food and ambience.

Lyssa C.

Yelp
My first time at this location tonight, I stayed about 2 minutes if that and left, & I won't be back; which won't be that upsetting to the bartender/host working from how it felt. I have been to waterloo icehouse a few times at different locations and loved it. This was my first time attempting to go this location near where I live, to have a drink and read a few chapters of my book with my dog now that the sun had gone down. I showed up at 9p with my dog and as soon as I walked in, the dark semi-long haired bartender (I assume he was also seating people because he was at the host stand) stopped talking to a customer picking up a to go order & said "our kitchen is closed". Caught off guard, I said "I thought you all closed at 10, I just wanted a drink." He then said "well you can have a drink, but there are no more servers here." Confused by his statement & that he said they had no servers- I asked if I could still get a drink, & if they allowed dogs inside, seeing as I had my dog with me; & because it was so abruptly awkward from the beginning- I asked if that would be okay & said that I didn't want to be a hassle. He then said "you can sit out on the patio, but I'm not going out there." He said all this in front of another customer that was picking up a to go order & I got embarrassed at how dismissive he was. Being a server for 10 yrs+ myself; I felt like he was making a point to let me know he did not want to serve me & I felt like I was either inconveniencing him; or he was annoyed that I was even wanting to come in. I was so uncomfortable in front of both of them I chose to just leave and told him, "I guess it sounds like a hassle," & said I would go somewhere else and walked out. I was embarrassed at feeling like I got a negative vibe for even coming in at 9p the moment I walked in. Yes, they close at 10- but I just wanted a drink and to sit out with my dog for a bit and read for an hour. I had just gotten some bad news, and ended up just going home instead and it ruined the last bit of my night I tried to salvage by trying to relax. It was uncomfortable to feel like I was turned away in front of another customer just because I walked in an hour to closing and wanted to sit on the patio for one drink. I won't be back, but thanks anyway. I'm sure others have had better experiences, I wish I could have been one of them.

Jenna T.

Yelp
Love this location! It's so perfect to be able to watch the kids play while we eat. Service was excellent. Food was meh. Burger was good. Chicken fried steak was mostly breading and a tiny portion. Don't bother with the sweet potato fries. They're limp and tasteless. Problems in the kitchen with the cookie dessert led to ordering the brownie which is not a brownie at all but a mediocre dry chocolate cake saved by chocolate chips. Go for the playground. Get the burgers and fries!

Priya N.

Yelp
Waterloo is a great place to have brunch. The place was packed so there was around a 20 minute wait until a seat was available. The chicken fried steak breakfast platter was alright. The steak was lacking a bit flavor and was slightly harder to chew. I do not have a picture of the chicken fried chicken and that was spectacular! The bacon was crispy and the biscuits were amazing. The gravy wasn't the best but that could just be me. The hash browns were crispy but could've been better. I wouldn't get the chicken fried steak again but the chicken fried chicken is where it's at.

Jon A.

Yelp
This was on Saturday night January 13th around 6:45. All I was looking for was the order I paid for. Even gave a tip when I completed the purchase online. Have always had good service when dining in but carry out was very disappointing. Thank you

Justin N.

Yelp
If you have kids and you want a chill place to come visit with a place for the kids to play, this is your spot. It is big, nice layout and has an enclosed playground. Staff is friendly and have enough people that you are not waiting very long for a table in or out doors. Food. This would be my only hesitation/complaint coming here. It is ok but in no way great. I have had many things on the menu from breakfast eggs, waffle, biscuits, to burgers, fries and more. Best described as mediocre IMO. Lacks in flavor/seasoning by a lot and can be over cooked. It does the job of putting food in front of me but would not hype it up in any way.

Charli V.

Yelp
Came here last weekend to grab some breakfast after a early morning Zilker session for our puppy. I love how pet friendly the patio is, they have endless treats, water, and poop bags for use. I will say, it's not fun after rain though bc the dogs will get extremely wrecked in the dirt/mud. But other than that, Waterloo was extra accommodating and friendly, I ordered 1 migas taco, which is a mixture of eggs, cheese, and tortilla inside a flour tortilla. I recommend saucing it up because flavors were a bit bland. The avocado toast was delicious. I liked that I could order a half order for variety, but next time I'll just get the full order bc it was so good. It seemed like the restaurant is back hosting 100% capacity but all employees were wearing masks so I felt safe. Especially outdoors. Hope to be back soon!

James H.

Yelp
The Emily's Pan Roasted Chicken was succulent & crispy chicken breast skin with mashed potatoes & green beans was delicious. The young waiter had full command of the restaurant's technology to process the order. The wait staff knew to offer the children's icecream from the kid's menu. Peanut safe for our son.

April M.

Yelp
Sit in the bar, those people are fun. The locals/ regulars remind me of cheers. Alec and Josh keep that place clicking. Order the bar nachos... secret menu.

Robb S.

Yelp
It's in the hood and I sometimes forget it's an option. Solid food and good service. Noisy at times but great for after soccer lunch. The kids can play out back while parents relax is a bonus!

Alyssa B.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood spot and I'm glad to have a location down South. It's a trusty place to watch a game, especially any Longhorn game which will be on every screen in the place. The menu is extensive and there's something for everyone. The food itself is average, nothing great but it does the job. The beer is ice cold and the service is friendly so can't complain too much.

Judi A.

Yelp
I don't know what has happened to this place but my food was awful. I don't eat a lot so a kid's meal works. I got the hamburger and fries which Waterloo fries used to be some of my favorite. Hand cut and crispy. What they served me tasted like they had freezer burn. I had my friend taste them in case it was me and, nope, the fries were bad. The server (who was really good) got me a new order and they were equally bad. My friend said that her burger was okay and she had tator tots which were fine. I might go back for drinks but i don't think I will be eating there again.

Robert R.

Yelp
The location is very convenient. Greeting and service was great! Food selection, limited. Food quality, good but unimaginative. Nothing special here. Price, Austin high without reason. I continue to go here, and I recommend it but don't get high hopes for something special.

Melissa G.

Yelp
This is our favorite Waterloo to visit and bring family/friends to when they come visit us from out of town as the menu, food, and drinks really can accommodate to any one's taste and flair. Super easy parking and plenty of space inside to set groups of 6+ if you got that many with ya! Bring the kiddos too as there is a nice playground outside to keep them occupied between waiting time for food and after eating to burn off those calories. Be careful in summer time as the slides and handles can be a little too hot but there is a large tree and benches for you to sit down and cool off. The food is always on point here and never an issue on getting what we want here. They even have advertised specials for their steak night, happy hour, and other themed specials. Be sure to ask your server what special(s) they got going on before you dive into the large menu. I really love the ambience here at the bar as I can see myself meeting up with my girlfriends for some Deep Eddy cocktails and catch-up convos. If you are coming as a couple and it is busy the bar might be your best bet to order food and drinks without hardly a wait. Super pet friendly where the patio is as well so might as well bring the whole fam as there is plenty of space, options, and happiness all around from the service, food, and the ambience.

Ara A.

Yelp
Great place to take kids and a great place to relax and just chill. The food is excellent as well.

paul m.

Yelp
Sorry man, I get inflation and everything, but this place hasn't earned the right to charge 3.95 for a cup of coffee, and a mediocre coffee at that. I've looked at all the other menus in town and this is the highest I've seen, even more than the elevated diners. Come on, guys. More expensive than the airport!!

Agent M.

Yelp
Such a good restaurant for brunch! I love this place's golden waffle the most, but their brunch selections are beautiful too. Mom tried avocado toasts with wheat choice, she loved it so much. I tried their combo meal with: tortilla soup, house salad, and loaded potato was just a wonderful as well. I definitely come frequently, bring more people with me. The location for Escarpment is good as well. The servers working at this location are so kind, professional and fun to interact. They were being really patient for customers who needed time to select the menu. Very well trained. The pricing range is very good too. Not too expensive as other brunch cafes tends to be, it is rightful prices with the good amount of food on dishes. Reasonable pricing, good amounts, delicious quality and taste.

MJ H.

Yelp
This for management to realize. Bulldog hotdog $11.95! Bun was dry, a pinch, it crumbled. Cheese oh was it supposed to have some, I do not recall. Chili was lacking being cooked, just to cover the crumbly bun underneath, the weiner was good quality thats about it, which I did enjoy. I'd been wanting a hot since seeing the advertisement for July specials. Here it is July 18th, thinking if this is a special for the month, let it be served especially delicious!

Molly L.

Yelp
Y'all need to update your hours on Yelp because what is listed is incorrect. That said, love the quick service!

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
Great service and great food at a reasonable price... I highly recommend this place and it's great for a family with children they have a playground... I ordered the wonderful Waterloo, chicken salad, and tortilla crusted catfish it was wonderful.

Maggie S.

Yelp
Perfect for a quick and casual breakfast, lunch, happy hour, or dinner. Good service at the bar and it's always full or fun Regulars. Very few bar menus have a great salad, this is one of them! My favorite is the Greek.

Skante M.

Yelp
Worked there for a few months Shay the manager is the most annoying person on this earth. She is very rude all the severs are great but the management besides Steven is horrible. The food is 3/10 worst fries ever. Lots of roaches in the back of the place. If you go there ask for Josh or Steven they are the only two people that give a shit

Mele F.

Yelp
This was such a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a place for lunch that our family could all enjoy but we were all looking for different things. This place we had driven by many times and never stopped off. So glad we did. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our plates. Super tasty salads, catfish tacos, hamburgers and the best most amazing thin and crispy sweet potato waffle fries that everyone kept taking from me. They are a must side dish ! Be sure to get your own so you don't have to share. Place has a great ambience, spacious tables, outside play area, clean restrooms and nice staff. We will be back.

Joe A.

Yelp
Went to Waterloo after Jena reached out and invited me back. I ordered a burger and it was great. I'll definitely be coming back and thank you Jena for making it right.

Douggie P.

Yelp
I'm a regular here and their food never fails to impress. Their tots are iconic, the atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is amazing. Shout out to John, who drew us dinosaurs for us to color. He reminds me that there is still good in the world.

Joe Y.

Yelp
They're trying hard and doing a great job. Nice casual ambiance. Ultimately this is the local version of a Chili's. The food quality just isn't there. Stick to simple dishes.

Jen M.

Yelp
Service was great, the menu has a ton of options, their salads are awesome and the kids menu comes with ice cream. The play ground keeps kids occupied while you enjoy your partner.

Angel S.

Yelp
Great place to bring the kids, have a burger and beer and just kick back for an hour and a half. It won't be your favorite burger or chicken salad but if you have kids you will absolutely be back, for sure. You can beat a place with the ONLY playground in Escarpment Village. Waterloo in general is an Austin institution and I get why. Only problem with places like this are they feel so big you can feel forgotten about. Service was fine but just slow and forgettable. It was mid day so that can always lead to that. All good though. If you're in the area though, and the kiddos are hungry and you want to kick back, this could be your place. UPDATED (8/20/19) I received a message from a team member here named Veronica and she has absolutely stepped up to make me feel like my experience would never happen again. Really great to feel like they cared since I absolutely did. As someone with years of service experience, great job Veronica. Talk to you soon!

Katrina B.

Yelp
My family of 6 had dinner at Waterloo tonight and it was a great experience! All of the kids ate all of their food (which is unusual) and my daughter said the fish and chips were the best she had ever had! My husband and I shared the steak Philly and it was pretty delicious. Two of my kids had the pancakes and they said they were great. Staff was friendly and efficient. We are always looking for family friendly places to go and when they have a playground, it makes it that much better. We live in Round Rock and I would love to have a Waterloo closer to us. Highly recommend if you have kids and want to do something easy, fun, and has tasty food.

Karol M.

Yelp
I've been a Waterloo Ice House fan since there was only one location on S. Lamar, so I was happy to see one near my new neighborhood in SW Austin. This location is a lot smaller than the one on 360N x 2222 and fairly rustic with that old-Austin vibe. It has a bar in the front, an indoor table area, a covered patio table area in back, and a small playscape out the back door. Families eat there on weekends and some evenings, so it gets loud in there; otherwise, it's a good place for professionals to meet during the day for lunch or meetings or happy hour. The Waterloo menu has an array of burgers, salads, soups, tacos, and a full breakfast menu. The food I've ordered has been well-prepared and fresh. I'm addicted to their onion rings and will probably gain weight ordering them every time I eat there, but at this point, I don't care. Comfort food rules. They have happy hour drink specials each day of the week, including various tap beers and top-shelf liquor. The wait staff is extremely efficient and friendly. I've been impressed with every server I've met over the past month. It's a low-key, affordable place to grab a bite with a friend or the family or even by yourself, so yeah, I do that, too. As often as possible.

Yelp
The food at Waterloo is often kind of ho-hum. Inventive sauces and exciting, flavorful culinary inventions aren't really their thing. They don't put anything but salt on their diced potatoes, for instance. They make hearty, often fried fare in a friendly atmosphere where the severs have been working for years and years. It's a nice neighborhood place where you don't really have a favorite but you keep going because the kids like it. I've probably been to this Waterloo over 200 times, and I keep going, because it's local and friendly. If they stole one thing a quarter from the Kerbey Lane menu I'd be ecstatic, but I'll keep going even if they don't.

Yelp
Crawfish season is ending in June. Come get your live crawfish boil while they last. You can't get crawfish this fresh anywhere in Phoenix no matter how much you pay. And these crawdaddies were huge. Normally Americans don't eat the yellow stuff inside the crawfish but this is the most nutritious part of the crawfish. Many Asians eat it because it is great for your health according to Chinese Medicine. The key to eating the yellow stuff is to pick ones that have bright yellow color and suck it out. If the color is dark yellow or pale yellow, do not eat. Generally I never eat this in Phoenix because the crawfish is never fresh enough, even when you order "live crawfish". But with fresh, live crawfish here, this stuff is very nutritious. Great experience here. I love the way the managed the all you can eat crawfish. You can get in line when you need crawfish. Wait is 1-2 minutes. Very fast. Beats having to tell a waitress you need another order of crawfish and then wait 15-20 minutes. Nope. Not here. Whenever you run out, walk out to the live crawfish boil outside and get your next crawfish tray. You can get 2 trays at a time. Service was fast with the crawfish which is amazing because this place is packed to the bone and it's a pretty huge place with plenty of outdoor and extra room seating. The boil started at 12 Noon. I arrived at 12:01 and already there was a 20 minute wait. lol. There was a live band playing music. Not the best but hey, it's free. I don't normally drink alcohol. But hey you can't go to an Ice House, eat crawfish, and not order beer on a hot day in Austin. It just doesn't work. For beer, I tried the Live Oak Hefe on tap. Great refreshing taste to wash it all down. I got the Tortilla Catfish to go with cheese tater tots and bacon green beens. The catfish was the best I had all year as compared to what you can get in Phoenix. Very fresh. Great taste and the green dipping sauce was awesome!! The cheese tater tots were great as was the fresh juicy green beens. This place rocks!! I will visit here whenever I am in town.

Yelp
I can see why this place is such a hit in circle c. Food come in large portions, pricing is on point, service and staff are super nice, tons of seating, and an amazing play area for kids. It hits all the circle c marks. That said, the food is mediocre. Fried pickles were too salty, onion rings lacked flavor and crunchiness, the fried chicken burger was dry and tough. That said, I did quite enjoy the catfish bites, prob best part of the meal.

Yelp
I wanted a quick breakfast with friends. This was ideal. Service was friendly and prompt . There is merchandise but the food is still good. Several vegan options. My friends enjoyed pancakes and eggs. The wait w for a table was reasonable. Located in a strip centre there is ample parking.
