"One of the biggest party scenes in the city is happening at the only rooftop pool downtown: Waterproof at the Statler Hotel. The crowd is young, and while cabanas and poolside tables are available to reserve with a drink and food minimum of $350 for four to 10 people. Not suggested for kiddos." - Courtney E. Smith

"Looking for rooftop fun in downtown Dallas? The Statler’s rooftop has snow globes and winter cabanas that can be rented for a private winter cocktail hour, or the standing-room bar is open (it’s free to access before 3 p.m., and there is a $10 cover after). It’s also offering high tea service on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by reservation. And this winter experience will be around until February 11." - Courtney E. Smith

"The hotel and Primo’s will roll out a limited menu at Waterproof on the Statler’s 19th floor. The preview pop-up will last from May 1 to May 15, and it will be open late: hours run from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Frozen and on the rocks margaritas starting at $5 will be available all day, with DJs and bottle service nightly. According to Waterproof’s Instagram, the pool isn’t allowed to be open yet and the venue is observing the governor’s 25% capacity rule, so reservations are highly encouraged but not required. “We can only operate at 25% occupancy— reservations are not mandatory,” Waterproof wrote in the comments of its post." - Adele Chapin

This is a really cool bar to hang out at during the day. What better way to stay cool in the summer heat than in a rooftop pool with a drink in hand. The food and drinks are great but there is very little free seating. Any seat with a table has some kind of minimum purchase, although you’ll probably meet that minimum just after your first drink (roughly $25/seat). While the lounge chairs are free with no minimum, there are only a few and even with the small amount of people when we were there, they were all taken. Most of them were taken by people in the pool that didn’t use them in the two hours we were there. I’d say if you don’t want a minimum charge for your seat be prepared to spend all of your time at the bar or in the pool. The servers definitely focused on those that payed a cover charge and rarely checked in with the rest of us. They were helpful when they checked in though. The bartenders are good and friendly as well. During the day the atmosphere was great and relaxing. I’d expect a much crazier vibe in the evening though as they have DJs and advertised parties regularly. Also, the pizza was amazing, highly recommend the BBQ chicken! If you’re looking for a relaxing pool with a bar during the day this is a great choice!

We were here for a promotion party for my beautiful smart daughter. We had a great time. The food was so-so to me but the ladies who were our waitresses were on point and super nice. I loved the rooftop vibe and the valet parking but I surely thought it was going to be a nicer lounge. The "VIP" area we reserved doubled as some sort of storage area in the back corner. I thought that was a little odd. Overall, though, I had a good time and I'd go again. Nice lil' spot for a chill vibe!

If you're a fan of Espresso Martinis, the one served at the Waterproof in Dallas might leave you sorely disappointed. Instead of the rich, bold coffee flavor you'd expect, this cocktail was a lukewarm blend that lacked depth and balance. The espresso flavor was muted, and the overall drink was overly sweet, masking any complexity. The presentation was lackluster, with a thin layer of froth that quickly dissipated. For a city known for its vibrant cocktail scene, this Espresso Martini missed the mark, failing to deliver the robust and invigorating experience that defines the classic drink.

Service is great. Drinks are the worse. Asked for expresso martini, had to returned because it was literally just coffee, came back the same… Beer bucket does not have enough ice and all who live in Dallas know how hot it is, beer gets hot within minutes. Out waitress was fabulous and supper friendly and courteous, also very helpful!!! Kudos to her. Nice place, bad cocktails!!!

Great ending to our night atop the Statler. Music was great and atmosphere was chill, not over crowded and the views were amazing. Could not have asked for a better place to finish the night!

Google
The Negatives: the wait staff at Waterproof can be a bit slow, which occasionally led to delays in getting our drinks. Another aspect to consider is the pricing of the drinks. They tend to be on the higher end, which might not suit everyone's budget. One thing that struck me was the size of the cabanas. They were indeed smaller than expected, so if you're looking for ample space to relax with a larger group, you might need to adjust your expectations. The Positives: the views of downtown Dallas are truly stunning. Whether you're gazing at the skyline during the day or admiring the city lights at night, the panoramic vistas create a captivating backdrop for your afternoon getaway. I thoroughly enjoyed the music and vibe at Waterproof. If you're seeking a spot with a vibrant atmosphere, good music, and nice views, Waterproof is definitely worth a visit.

We went on a Monday so it would be more chill and it totally was. Sam the bartender was so nice and so were Ernesto and Ari. I’m sure it gets busier and since it’s a small pool I would absolutely recommend going on slower days or earlier in the day while the sun is still peak. Had a great time for my birthday 10/10

Beautiful Views! Recommend for a nice outing in Dallas! The decor, rooftop, music and overall atmosphere makes it worth visiting ✨️

Yelp
This was my First time experiencing The Statler Dallas and the Waterproof Independence Day Pool Party. I truly had a Blast...even met people from Sarasota FL., Albany GA., and even beautiful people from Houston, TX. There was a freeze on How many people that could enter in for a while (there was a little) chaos. The Dallas Police ended up being apart of the festivities as well as security. There were also some issues that weren't properly explained on the Yelp page as well. I'm thankful that Rahad (who was over the Waterproof reservations/rsvp) I was able to enter in for free before the cutoff time which was 6:30p.m. Some events are worth the experience this way we learn for future events.

Yelp
I was looking for a nice cocktail bar in the area, and Waterproof came up in my search. I saw that Waterproof was the rooftop bar of The Stratler hotel, which I've already been a fan of thanks to its Bourbon & Banter speakeasy. The bar was super easy to get to. I popped into an elevator and found a button that went up directly to Waterproof. My ID was immediately checked by the receptionist and then I was on my way to exploring the bar. The indoor lounge was just as beautiful as the outdoor pool area. I sat at the bar, but it felt like it was makeshift. When I looked under the bar to find purse hooks, for example, I noticed the string of LED lights under the bar that needed to be realigned and straightened. The bar staff were nice but not really attentive. They were more busy chatting among themselves than engaged with their customers. We would have to call out to a bartender to draw their attention. I'm a gin drinker, and there wasn't a specialty cocktail on their menu that had the spirit. Honestly the menu was uninspiring. I got the concept of the pool-themed cocktails, but there wasn't anything that jumped out at me that I had to try. I ended up choosing a Wet Meletti, which was like a Bourbon Sour. It was OK. I thought that the flavors weren't proportioned, because it was incredibly bitter from the grapefruit and wasn't balanced out with the lemon and the meletti. I didn't stick around for a 2nd drink.

Yelp
Waterproof, nestled in The Statler, boasts a cute venue with a charming ambiance. The friendly bartenders enhance the overall experience. However, the downside lies in the overpriced and small drinks. Despite the aesthetically pleasing setting, the Rum Punch I tried was mediocre. It tastes purely like heavy cream and cinnamon; the alcohol was an after thought. The venue's highlight is undoubtedly the opportunity to witness the skyline while being downtown, making it an attractive spot to kick off the night. However, due to the combination of small drinks and high prices, it might not be the ideal place for an extended stay. In summary, Waterproof at The Statler offers a visually appealing setting with friendly service, making it a cute starting point for a night out. The skyline view adds a nice touch, but the pricey, petite drinks could deter visitors from lingering for an extended period.

Yelp
Received very rude service from the hostess on the evening of Sunday, September 29. She was more interested in flirting with the security than helping customers.

Sara G.

Yelp
Waterproof at the Statler Hotel offers probably the best view in Dallas from its rooftop pool. The atmosphere is lively with afternoon music and cocktails. I had a skinny margarita and an afternoon dip in the pool. The panoramic cityscape from this vantage point is unparalleled.

Steven R.

Yelp
I used to love the Statler and Waterproof, but commmmme onnnn... Showed up with friends expecting Bourbon and Banter + Waterproof. I overheard the bell staff up front telling people how to get to B&B but even staff apparently didn't know it was closed for a private event. Went up to Waterproof instead. It was a little busy but not crazy. However, they only had one cocktail server for the whole place! They had these snowglobe things outside for $300 F&B minimum which is fine but they also were pretty light on the outdoor seating and had most of it closed off to keep people inside. It was slightly cold but a great night to be out there with heaters. We found some seats inside but it took a full 15 minutes to flag someone down to get an order taken. We were never offered menus so ordered from the cocktail menus on Waterproof's website. Server said they are out of date and there's a special menu now so she had to navigate us to that and we started over. The drinks were delicious and server was friendly. No complaints on those fronts. And I suppose the view is worth the $15 drinks, which I know to expect around here. However, there's something very cheapening about the experience to be served those things in plastic. Two of our drinks came in highball and martini glasses that were plastic but did look nice. The other two were served in straight up plastic cups, the same as the cups they have out at the water station. That was very surprising. Side notes: there are ornaments on the table and little decorations that are supposed to light up, but the batteries are dead in them and probably not being replaced. The DJ was great. He could have been somewhere much better than this. Anyway, I guess I'll keep coming here for the view and the ambiance but the place gives a definite feel of not delivering on the luxurious experience that I used to see here. Not a huge problem but just falls short of the standards Statler set for itself. If this were somewhere else and it hasn't been $80 for 1 round of drinks it could have been a 3-star experience. There are small customer experience enhancements that could really move the needle here. Menus on tables or available when you walk in, since there was no host(ess). Even a QR code to scan. Info on the website about the outdoor seating situation. Redirect the cocktail menu to the seasonal menu if it's not in service now so people don't try to order from it. Maybe a second cocktail server on a weekend evening. Think from our perspective as customers...

Yelp
I came to visit some friends in Dallas and they wanted to show me around downtown. First stop was to The Statler Dallas, a nice boutique hotel off Commerce. We came here specifically for Waterproof, which is a rooftop bar on the 19th floor. This place has spectacular views in all directions. The space itself is pretty big with a pretty small pool smack dab in the middle. It reminded me of a Vegas pool where everyone wants to just stand and enjoy their drinks inside of it. We didn't plan on staying long so we found a spot to post up and enjoy a few cocktails. There are cabanas and seating areas that are available for a fee as well. The DJ was on point and had the crowd engaged. Drinks were super overpriced for subpar drinks. Overall, it's a pretty cool spot. A good time was had for sure. Will I need to come back? Not really. It was a one and done kind of thing for me.

John U.

Yelp
This top roof bar exceeded expectations with its open pool, breathtaking views, and a vibrant atmosphere. The crowd emanated a welcoming and dope vibe, complemented by beautiful women adding to the overall allure. The music was on point, creating a lit ambiance. A must-visit for those seeking an elevated experience with a perfect blend of aesthetics and atmosphere.

Yelp
Came on a Friday afternoon and was able to quickly grab a couple drinks and get seated with a friend. The view was beautiful but we were definitely hoping for sunnier weather! It was about 79 degrees and my friend and I were the only ones in swimsuits! There was plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Thankfully, since it wasn't too crowded, we got wonderful photos and had plenty of space in the pool. Drinks came out quickly, but when we ordered food, the wait was super long - over 40 minutes. The food was typical bar food...tasted good, but left something to be desired. Whipped ricotta could've used some more flavor (or maybe just salt) and the toast with the Calabrian shrimp was a little burnt. The drinks tasted alright but could be stronger...for cocktails, the Fountain of Youth was pretty refreshing.

Yelp
Play by play of my experience at this joint. Step 1: I order a gin & tonic and pay with CARD. Total $12.45ish. Perfect, can't wait to look at the skyline and enjoy a refreshing G&T on a hot summer night. Step 2: My wife orders a margarita, I pay with CASH, hand her a crisp $20 and begin to walk away with drink and get informed that the drink is 23 DOLLARS, and I'm 3 dollars short. As she counts my 17 dollars (all in one's) I ask for a RECEIPT. She says the system can't run a receipt on cash purchases.... When I ask again for the receipt and question why bottom shelf tequila is 10 dollars more than house G&T, she informs me that this is a rooftop bar in Dallas. Looking for someone to confirm that a house margarita cost $23 at the statler rooftop bar and I will drop the case.

Yelp
Great ambiance in a rooftop bar. Music was on point and the drunks were just right. Perfect place for an after dinner date or to people watch and relax! Will definitely come back here when in the area

Sydni L.

Yelp
Sam, Ernesto and Ari were the best while we were there. A lot of these reviews say it's super crowded and unenjoyable but we went on a Monday so it was completely empty when we got there and never got very busy. The tacos are great and the drinks were also delicious. Definitely recommend going on a week day if you can to experience the chill vibe if you're not into the busy party vibes. Loved it.

Neema S.

Yelp
Bought tickets for the Winterproof experience last Friday. I'll start by saying, I really don't think you actually need tickets. No one checked our tickets or asked for our name when we walked in because it was fairly empty. So save your $20 lol. The decor outside for Winterproof was underwhelming, the igloos you could reserve for a F&B minimum were just okay. We were there for about 30 minutes and never had a server come up to us for our order. We tried going to the bar, but the bartenders were also only tending to who seemed like regulars. After 30 minutes of still not being looked at we left and went to another hotel nearby with a much better vibe, decor and service. Not impressed :(

James Z.

Yelp
Cheese board was great, alcohol was not worth $25 and if you set a reservation make sure you read the fine print. They have 200 minimums to sit outside and it really isn't worth it.

Amethyst G.

Yelp
Got bottle service here one night for a mini reunion with a good friend from high school. Service was top notch from valet to being seated. Seating at our table was a bit uncomfortable but the ambiance, crowd and service made it worthwhile. Julie was very attentive and made sure we wanted for absolutely nothing. Surprisingly, they serve an AMAZING BBQ Chicken Pizza. I can't speak for the other food but even this simple dish was executed to perfection.

Aneesh B.

Yelp
One of the worst rooftop bars/ lounges I have ever been to. This place is supposed to be a more high end experience with a beautiful view of the skyline based on the picture but the service you get is absolutely horrible. I did my due diligence as always and called ahead of my reservation. I called ahead of time and they said they had everything taken care of and made sure they had everything taken care of and they had vegetarian food available. When I got there, I realized the place was packed for the Euros and the volume was unbelievably loud(couldn't hear the person I was with without yelling), which they didn't communicate before. They made me pay a $20 entrance fee bc of the watch party for the euros if I remember correctly (which was not communicated before as well) in addition to the $50 minimum they had. We sat down for literally 2 minutes before we decided to leave but when we asked for a refund for the entrance fee, they said no and when I tried to reason with them that I just got in, they shrugged and said "it's not up for discussion" and to leave if we're not staying. I own a luxury space of my own and if I saw my staff handle that situation in that manner, they'd be fired in the spot. Save the time and energy there are way better lounges around Dallas with better service.

Laudia T.

Yelp
We waited for two hours for our bottle, I do not blame the bottle service girls but shame on the statler for coming up with these over booked sections with little staff, crammed tables but still charging us 500$ for a bottle of Tito's this "section" got sat on the patio with a table with 6 chairs, I booked a vip pool lounge ticket for 8, I asked the server if we could move and they told us no, again trying to understand the server side, understand they are sold out. They had multiple bottles on my tab on the end of the night and I had to clarify which I actually had. Which was one Tito's not five. I was super close to other tables there can be some confusion but that was a super close call and kinda sketchy in my eyes from an industry person just trying to enjoy the holiday.

Cory G.

Yelp
The food, the ambiance, and the service are all top notch! The staff are always friendly and smiling,, the music is always on par and the vibes are always amazing!! If you haven't been here, you should definitely check it out!

Monica S.

Yelp
This rooftop bar located above the Statler Hotel has amazing views... and that's about it. Service: poor customer service, if you get acknowledged at all. My party of 3 had two rounds of the same exact drinks. My brother purchased the first round and his bill was about $48. I purchased the second round and my bill was about $36. We have no idea how that could be. Drinks: sub-par and served in plastic cups for $14-$17. The bar area had a horrible stench as well. It was almost as if they hadn't washed their rags. atmosphere: nice decor. leaves more to be desired in terms of music. only 4 unisex bathrooms. seating areas could use a cleaning more often as used towels are left behind. pool on the rooftop is also small.

Joanna V.

Yelp
Llama llama sho mama she high no drama llaaammmmaaaa My first time at a rooftop bar (this one) was somewhat awesome, since it was my first time ever in Dallas as well. Lounging at Waterproof was a last minute choice and it was a cool pick for a rooftop lounge, cityviews, and conversations. We were here for a small birthday get-together which was enjoyable because of our company. Although their bar menu claims to be a full bar, they didn't have the first four drinks I ordered... seriously. A cocktail from the menu was also unavailable. The bartender said they were not a cocktail bar, while their menu clearly had a list of cocktails... horrible. -2.5**× for the bar service issues! As for another first timer, I got a gin and tonic. It was mildly flavored, so I just went with a couple of them... rolling eyes. The crowd was small and its indoor ambience was formal, but not so much the bartender... He didn't even offer up suggestions after declines on the initial four drinks... really. Food is served here, however expect a wait. It wasn't brought to our table either. The best part was the outside with the lounge couches, beds, and small fountain pool. There were mist blowers which made the air cooler with the humidity. Thank goodness the clouds covered the sun a bit, or it would've been scorching. A hallow metal llama watches in amusement. That was my favorite part along with the views. 2.5**× stars for the outdoor lounge.

Candy R.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday afternoon, and I really enjoyed the vibes and the view. I had made a reservation but there was no need for one, it wasn't busy at all only a few tables were occupied. I heard this was one of the best views of downtown Dallas and they were right! We ordered a few drinks at the bar and sat next to the pool. This is the perfect spot for a date or hanging with your girl friends. When it gets hot I plan to come back and go swimming. I noticed there were kids there which is nice to know you can bring your family although I believe at night kids are not allowed because it turns into a club with bottle service. The staff was really nice and accommodating. If you love rooftops I highly recommend coming here!

LaNitria T.

Yelp
It was fine, not something I'd have to try again. But nice views and fairly clean restrooms.

Kunal S.

Yelp
The best view of Dallas downtown from the center of it on a high rise roof top! The statler is an epic landmark in the Dallas downtown area , and this rooftop deck just elevates the game . I didn't go there for a pool side gathering but I wish I had. The setup is great for a bachelor party or girl night , and music / DJ setup can get anyone grooving . The vibe is very high energy and the drinks are good ! I expected more from the cocktails but the view makes up for it . Go there , it's worth the cover charges on Friday nights .

Rutaba M.

Yelp
I had to wait in line for a while to even be able to get in because they only had one iPad to check people in I reserved a table and confirmed with staff multiple times, specifically Erika but when I got there and they pretended like they had no idea what I was talking about and said all the tables were already sold out, but the tables were all practically empty outside The bathroom line was insane and people kept cutting Needless to say they need more staff and resources I stayed for half an hour, which was literally in the bathroom line and stepped outside for a moment, and then left so complete waste of my money and one of the worst New Year's Eve experiences ever

Bree K.

Yelp
This rooftop was definitely a whole vibe. I reserved a cabana and it was super nice. The host and waitresses were super nice! The only thing I will say is the food wasn't anything we really wanted to try since it was very minimal. We grabbed something afterwards, but we really came to drink! Lastly, the pool was out of service this day, so I'll definitely be back to try & experience that!!

Lorenzo H.

Yelp
The perfect place for that Iconic photo. Few roof top bars in Downtown Dallas, give you the opportunity to take a truly Iconic photo, but Waterproof at the Statler offer's just that. I must admit the vibe is not for everyone, with limited seating, pricey drinks, and thumping sounds, it can be a bit much for some demographics, but those who enjoy a poolside party, with a private bubble cabana, and a younger demographic, will find Waterproof wonderful! My Miami root's know exactly which friends to introduce to Waterproof when they're in town. If this sounds like the place for you, you'll find us dancing near the pool! Xoxo Lorenzo!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
drinks are ridiculously priced for no alcohol I was getting the same drink the whole night last two where staight cranber juice my friends tried it I told the manager he just walked offfff

Nisha R.

Yelp
Cool, hip, trendy and fun place with a great vibe and amazing views. This is a good spot for meeting up with friends for a Sunday Funday. The view is definitely the best quality. The rooftop overall is a bonus for this downtown Dallas hotel. You can Self Park for $5.00 or Valet Parking is $10.00 with validation. My experience overall was decent. The staff is lacking on customer service. Our waitress was not the best. I wasn't impressed with the quality of service. The drinks are pricey. Not enough alcohol. I agree with others about overpriced cocktails. The shrimp were tasty. Definitely better than what I expected. The shrimp were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Our group really liked them. So the food was good or at least this appetizer was a winner. The inside and outside areas were clean. Plenty of seating if you get there early enough. People were wearing their masks. Decent music playing to keep it lively. I'm glad to have finally tried this spot. I don't like they CLAIM they can't split checks up. I bet if one person didn't have enough to cover it they would figure it out. I don't like chasing my waitress down for my bill or more drinks. I would probably come back and chill on the rooftop. This place has potential, but lacking in areas and there is room for improvement. It's kind of OVERRATED.

Jenny D.

Yelp
This rooftop pool and nightclub was connected to the Statler hotel. The overall hotel itself had a great decor and created an encapsulating experience. I did not stay at the hotel but I did find it unique how there were 3 different bars within the building this one being on the roof with great views of Dallas. Great upbeat vibe with fun music, not too pricey for drinks and one of a kind views with a pool!

Alianna F.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great along with the view. The service was as quick as they could be on a Saturday night. However, we ordered 6 of the same drinks as a group and each one was very different. One drink had way to much bitters in it, so we were unable to finish it. For $100 I would have expected our drinks to be consistent and good.

Amir T.

Yelp
Reserved 2 tickets online, total $39. Then $25 for parking and $40 for 2 drinks. $101 just to walk in and see that there is absolutely no place to stand yet alone to get in the water. I'm guessing the entire roof top is about 3000 square feet and they had about 100 people there. What's the point of making reservation? We finished the drinks and walked out in about 10 minutes.

Austin H.

Yelp
Phenomenal drinks, wonderful ambiance, however stock height trucks will not fit in valet parking.....

Margret H.

Yelp
The view is beautiful ‼ We bought tickets to sit on the sofa for the Frank Sinatra show . The host tell us the sofa is for someone else. We could sit and wait to see if the guest come, after seeing our tickets. I wouldn't recommend you go. You can go other rooftops for free and still have a beautiful view.

Luiz Victor D.

Yelp
This rooftop is amazing! Great views and they have a pool that you can enjoy. Going over there with friends is always fun, they have a Dj playing music almost every day I think which is pretty cool. The bar is good and servers are friendly although, the bar could be inconsistent, last time I left unimpressed by the drinks. Can't miss this place if you love great views and music !

Anna S.

Yelp
The view are amazing Drinks are amazing Can't wait to come again Would recommend to bring all your friends here

Darius H.

Yelp
Where do I begin? The ambiance is to die for; and, the high-rise-landscape views of South Dallas are absolutely breathtaking. From the Director (Rick) all-the-way down to the gentlemen in the photo (Bartender: Herald), the staff was extremely on point with their outstanding customer service skills --with a few minor exceptions. Today I witnessed Harold, along with a few other staff members, hustle their behinds off in severe raining conditions. The energy they all produced to maintain the upkeep of their establishment was unremarkable. I've never seen such pristine-crisp effort and dedication. [Herald can be seen drenched after his patio duties in the rain] I by far am absolutely pleased with the entire establishment, and must say Security did a phenomenal job at making me feel safe and secure 19 floors-high-in-the-sky as well. 5 stars!

Jaclyn N.

Yelp
Is zero stars allowed???? Michelle a with booking reservations was very inconsistent at confirming my reservation for 8 people. I had to call the number, which was no longer in service, call Statler to transfer me to new number, which didn't have voicemail set up, to getting the directors # Julie, and I called her and she answered saying she's on vacation... eventually it got fixed but I finally got a confirmation about my reservation after all that (when I asked for the reservation a month ago) Upon arrival no one was at host stand and I stood there for 5 minutes "waiting for the manager to come back upstairs" so I began asking a server to just seat us, and she tried to seat us in a 4 person snow globe... people were preoccupying the 8 person snow globe so either they can't manage booking well or I'm not even sure. We weren't able to even get into the snow globe until about 30 minutes past the reservation. Finally for drinks ordered, wrong drinks came out, claiming they don't have liquor that's listed out on the menu, I had to bus our table to clear up space for the food.... Pizza came up and I saw it sitting at the bar for a good 10-15 minutes before they brought it to us... the idea of the snow globe is cute. And that was quite literally the only enjoyable thing about it.... I would NOT recommend coming back here and if you want the snow globe go to the Adolphus instead!

Melissa M.

Yelp
My first trip was off putting, my second and third trips were great! The first time I went we got a drink and were told that because we only got one drink we were not allowed to sit anywhere. The seats were for people who bought $25 worth of drinks, we eventually got another drink which added up to $25+so we were now able to sit. SMH. The second and third times we weren't told of that rule. The location is amazing A you can see all of Dallas. Other than the view, there's nothing else that separates it from other bars. The view is the reason to go.

Tyra H.

Yelp
I came to Waterproof without a reservation, and that was perfectly fine to use the pool that was up top. The pool was very clean and very refreshing after a hot summer Dallas day. The drinks were very good - I ordered the "Downtown Daquiri" (Rumhaven, lime, pineapple juice, Angostura bitters) & it was delicious. I also ordered a pizza - "The Basic B" (pepperoni or sausage, red sauce, mozzarella) & it was so fresh and delicious. The employees & bartenders were very friendly and made sure to get us anything we needed. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
A classy rooftop bar located on the top of The Statler Hotel in downtown Dallas. There isn't that much seating overall and once full the lineup will start in the lobby of the hotel. Paid street and lot parking nearby and valet services are available. Atmosphere (4 out of 5): Compared to rooftop bars in general, this isn't anything too different. Pop music in the early evening turning into louder more upbeat music as the night goes on. The lighting is provided by artificial fire lamps. There is an infinity pool in the middle of the roof, with reserve-able "igloos" around - essentially heated private enclosed igloo-like structures available for booking at a min-spend. Service (4 out of 5): Service was very classy and our server was very attentive. We also had the manager come by to check in on us in the middle of our stay. Surprisingly, the glasses our drinks were served in were plastic, not glass, which slightly ruined the "upper-class" feel of a rooftop bar. We didn't order any food, but rather shared a bottle of Prosecco which was served promptly in an ice bucket. Was refreshing. Value (4 out of 5): For one of the few rooftop bars in Dallas, there wasn't actually a significant upcharge for the food or drink. The prices were similar to that of a higher end ground-level bar and I was pleasantly surprised at the prices overall. The skyline views wasn't anything too special compared to other larger cities (it was near the best you can get in the middle of Dallas), but was still enough for the fancy atmosphere. Overall, I'm a fan - expectations were pleasantly met, and then some.

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday & bridal party here this past Saturday. We had a table with amazing views. And that's where it stops. Our waitress was really cool and so was the head security gentlemen of the evening. However there were some unwelcome racist undertones said to my friends what were uncalled for! Although they admitted wrong doing and comped our table I still believe The management here needs to train their staff on customer service and keeping their racial opinions to themselves as well as conflict management. It was completely unacceptable. We had a party of all professionals from government to business owners so... don't come at us a way because of what you think we are because of skin tone. DJ music was ehhhh.... def didn't get anyone dancing, it was a lot of folks standing around if not in their cabanas holding up the glass wall, BORING! We wanted to dance but the music wasn't it... vibes were all just whatever. Also... my educated guess leads me to believe that the architect of this building is a man. Who in bloody hell makes a nightclub with only 4 unisex toilets for all of us to share?!? It's 2021 have you not studied that women need more toilets? There IS very well studied data on it. And not to mention there was no toilet paper so I went to the bar to get cocktail napkins and past it around to the zillion ladies standing in line. On a side note: we got the mushroom ravioli & shrimp pasta and it decent. Nothing fancy, but it got the job done.

Yelp
Super cool rooftop!! It's on the 19th floor of the Statler hotel and being from Chicago, I was impressed. There are comfy couches and cabanas you can sit in and they give each guest a blanket plus you all feel warm from the fire places. The view of the entire city is amazing - especially at night when everything is lighted up. Cute place for a date too. The drinks were good but I was expecting a little more from the fries. It was given in a box with sauce in a little box like it was to go so I wished the presentation was a little better. Overall, I would come back next time I am in town.

Yelp
STELLAR SERVICE! I had a private event at Waterproof on Sat and I am completely satisfied. My event was from 6 - 9pm. I was treated with respect, care, and concern by every single staff member. Everyone that interacted with me made me feel like my satisfaction was their number one priority. This includes the catering staff, management, waitresses, event planner, and the security guards. My guest and I was shocked that the food not only appeared delicious, it was delicious. The ambiance is amazing. My goals was to provide a wonderful evening for my guest and the staff at Waterproof helped me accomplish my goal. The staff was so accommodating and had wonderful attitudes. I will definitely consider them for future events. I have only two concerns. One of my guest paid with a credit card and the waitress lost the credit card on the way back with the ticket. This same guest said they picked up a random credit card on the floor when they first arrived. They should definitely do more to secure the credit cards and make sure they don't fall out. The other concern is there is a small area on the patio floor that does not feel secure. It feels a little wobbly. My guest had such a good time that neither of these concerns was a big deal to them.

Yelp
Cute, quaint rooftop bar with a nice vibe! Like that there's an indoor and outdoor area. Hung out here with my alumni chapter after taking photos downstairs. The white peach Margarita is a must! The toasted ravioli was also very delicious. Beautiful sight lines to Dallas landmarks.

Yelp
Basically ruined my husband's birthday dinner. I reserved one of the snow globes weeks ago and was so excited to surprise Hubby with the intimate, COVID friendly environment and great city views. Unfortunately, our snow globe was ripped and it was freezing inside. They could not (would not?) offer an alternative and honestly didn't seem too concerned about it. Seriously people, customer service goes a long way.... So, we left. I am so disappointed I couldn't give Hubby the birthday experience I wanted to...and will not recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
Don't let the photos fool you! This is a very small rooftop bar! You need a reservation to sit anywhere but you call also visit without a reservation. Overall I thought it was a nice location and you get great views of the city! Great place for an intimate date!

Yelp
Dallas is graced with a lot of good rooftop bars, but Waterproof has the best view. It is relaxing in comfy seats on the patio by the beautiful (if small) pool, or there is limited seating inside. Panoramic views of downtown Big-D from either spot. Good bartender, although he may need help. Average table-service; attractive - but she never offered us drinks on the patio, so I kept having to walk back to the bar. I like the fact that the elevator entryway is locked; the door-staff can easily deny entrance to under-dressed or rowdy visitors. The Statler has several viable bars; from rooftop to basement. We'll add this to our rotation!
