While visiting Columbus, my family and I had dinner at Watershed Kitchen and Bar. Unsure of their parking situation, we rideshared to the restaurant. They have a fairly large parking lot. When you enter the establishment, you'll notice their gift shop that sells apparel, gifts, and spirits.
Prior to ordering drinks, I asked if they offered tasting flights of all their spirits. I found out that they only offer bourbon tasting flights. I hope that they expand to include their other spirits like strawberry flavored gin. It was hard to taste the strawberry flavored gin in the Strawberry Fields cocktail as the ouzo took over the whole flavor of the cocktail.
It was cool that their cocktails had a 90's theme to them. Among the five of us, we had six cocktails including DIY Basement Show, I'll Be Here Awhile, New Kid Ink Album, Nihilist Daydream, Strawberry Fields, and Zig A Zig Ah.
Before our food arrived, we had to move from their patio into their dining room due to a thunderstorm. It was nice that they had a table inside to accommodate our party.
For dinner, we shared two appetizers (e.g., Vegetable Fritters and Housemade Bread & Spread), two salads (e.g., Grilled Caesar Salad and Panzanella Salad), and three entrees (e.g., Braised Short Rib, Market Fish, and Mushroom Pasta). I loved how each dish was innovative in terms of combination of seasoning, flavors, and ingredients! Unlike most restaurant breads, their bread was made from bourbon mash grain blend. It kind of reminded me of Guinness bread. This Grilled Caesar Salad was unique in the sense that it was made with purple cabbage instead of romaine or kale. Unlike most Persian fish dishes, this Market Fish was a halibut instead of salmon or striped bass. Unlike most Mushroom pastas, they used a blend of roasted oyster and cremini mushrooms. By the time we finished our meal, we had no more room for dessert.
Next time, I hope to try their Duck Breast and K+B Burger!
