"This casual hotel is the perfect choice for a more budget-friendly escape to Monterey—rooms start around $190 a night midweek and go up to around $300 a night over the weekend. It’s located just a short walk to spots in downtown Monterey, the aquarium, and Cannery Row. With large double rooms that sleep four, it’s a great spot for a getaway with friends." - allison green

We absolutely loved our stay at the Wave Street Inn! It’s a charming boutique hotel that perfectly captures the coastal charm of Monterey. The location is unbeatable, just steps from Cannery Row, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and beautiful ocean views. It made exploring the area incredibly easy and enjoyable. The hotel itself is cute, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, with a modern coastal vibe that feels both stylish and comfortable. What really stood out was the warm hospitality from the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and eager to help, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

Perfect location with great employees and covered parking. Great little gem of a hotel, parking is underneath hotel. Walking distance to cannery row, the aquarium and lots more. Employees recommended local restaurants. Nice quiet hotel. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful stay! Awesome location! Very CLEAN and comfortable. You can hear people walking at times above you but it did not bother us. We turned AC on and never heard anything else. Parking was easy and goes until the next day after check out if needed. |There are fire pits in the courtyard that are lit nightly for s’mores and they gave us a snack bag at check in. |We also found every staff member we encountered to be friendly and so helpful. (Thank you, John, Carol, and Jennifer!)

Google
the staff was very helpful and pleasant. there are trolleys you can use to help with your luggage if you need. we arrived an hour before check-in and were still able to check in early thankfully. check out is noon, so that's nice. it's definitely not a quiet spot. the rooms open to a central open-air area. there were birds squawking and kids running around, but it's a hotel near the ocean, so you can't expect it to be quiet. the fridges are tiny & no microwaves in the rooms. any negatives are definitely outweighed by the location and proximity to the dining, shops, & activities

My teenage daughter and I stayed over the Easter weekend. We very much enjoyed our stay here. The Inn is very conveniently located, everything was in walking distance. The beach, shopping and food. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Love that being so close to the ocean the windows opened and we could get the sea breeze and hear the seagulls. Room was clean, hotel was clean. Yes, you do hear people walking in the upper level rooms but it wasn't bothersome. The parking is small but very convenient. I will be back! Will recommend to my friends.

We stayed at Wave Street Inn for 8 nights while exploring central California. This is the loudest hotel we have every stayed in. There is zero sound proofing and it is unbearable. We were originally put in a room on the second floor and we could hear every step the people above us took. The door for the closet and bathroom is shared (rolling farm house style door) and every time it is opened or closed in another room you can hear it. The hotel should really use quieter doors knowing that they have a sound proof issue. After two nights, we called asking if we could move to the top floor, or checkout early. They very kindly accommodated us and moved us to a top floor room which helped with at least one direction of noise. You could still hear the conversation happening in the rooms next to you. The hotel was clean, the location was great, and staff were very kind, but the goal of a hotel is to get a good night’s sleep, and this place does not do that. If you stay at this hotel, bring ear plugs and a white noise app, and be mindful of others and don’t have conversations in your room for hours on end late at night.

Google
Perfectly located within walking distance to local resteraunts, shops and cannery row. Rooms are nice and cozy especially if got kids. Little noise from those walking upstairs but otherwise quiet. Parking garage ($17 a day) is small but convenient grab spot early. Highly recommend

My family and I, we love this hotel. |The location is perfect. It’s so close to the Monterey Aquarium, the beaches, both far from Carmel and the Carmel Valley. Yet, it’s in a quiet street, so you can rest well at night or take a nap during the day.|The rooms are well furnished, cozy and always clean. Great wifi, parking on premises is always available. |Last, but not least is such wonderful and welcoming staff!!!|We’ve been here many times and we’ll be back for more.

Yelp
I decided to stay here for 1 night on my way down from the bay area after attending graduation ceremony. Everything is pretty much the same as my previous review. The parking is now $17/night instead of $15. As a reminder when staying here always choose to stay at the highest floor so you're not bothered by noise from the room above you. I'm not sure what happened here when they built or remodeled this hotel. They must have used the cheapest materials because you can hear all the noise around you and above you coming from the different rooms MORE so than other hotels i've stayed at. They put me on the 2nd floor, I was going to ask them to put me the top floor but since i'm gone all day and I go to bed late, it really didn't really matter too much. I paid $395 for 1 night (included was the $17.00 and tax)...it's pricey for this type of hotel but because of the location and apparently there was an event going on, it was still the cheapest hotel that was decent. Last thing i wanted to add, all 3 employees that i talked to at the front desk during my stay was all very friendly. One thing I really appreciated was that they let me check in when I arrived at noon.

Yelp
Quaint and cute fire pits on the second level were lovely not too many amenities other than that , one block from Cannery Row. Staff was kind and knowledgeable king size bed was comfortable. Parking was $17 a day. s'mores kit was $25.

Miriam P.

Yelp
I loved it here! It was a walk to the Monterey aquarium. The location is so convenient. It's also across the street from a rite aid. The staff here was so welcoming and sweet. The room was spacious and clean. The parking was perfect as well it's so nice to be able to leave your car and just walk everywhere you need to go. I would stay here again.

John O.

Yelp
Hotel is not even close to the quality of its rating. Unless you are on the top floor, you will hear everything from the room above you,Everything! I would highly recommend staying somewhere else if you want a good nights sleep!

Lori I.

Yelp
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION This cute inn is walking distance to everything Monterey. This is important because you don't want to have to drive and park in Monterey. We walked to the aquarium, to Cannery row, down to the Coast Guard pier and we could've even walked to Pacific Grove. Staff: John was the best. Not just at this place but the best of all the hotels we stayed at everywhere. There was a female I spoke to on the phone & she was great too but we only had live interaction with John both days. From My notes: Parking $17 underground. No on-site restaurant, laundry or hot coffee, as there is no "lobby". Only 1 elevator. Take the stairs. Use the outdoor fireplaces to chill. Bring earplugs. Lots of street noise. The Wave Suite we stayed in was a 2-room suite directly above the front desk. You walk into the first room which had 2-Queen beds, then you walk thru a doorway which has a living room (sofa bed and seats) attached to the bathroom. The doorway had no door so you don't have much privacy between the rooms. My husband had to do a bunch of zoom calls while we were sleeping, so it would've been nice to have a door. I believe the "family suite" has a door between the two rooms so if you need privacy, that would be a better choice.

Corinne E.

Yelp
This was the perfect stay for my work trip! The room was clean and comfortable, and I loved being able to open up the window for some fresh ocean air. The view was stellar, and I enjoyed the little seating area by the window to eat and watch the activity on Cannery Row. There are so many things within walking distance, that was the best part! After work, I would walk to dinner or to shop, and was only a few minutes from Fisherman's Wharf. The front desk staff was very nice and informative, I'm sorry I don't remember his name to share. They even give a little snack goodie bag upon check in! I definitely plan on visiting again.

Jessie B.

Yelp
I don't often leave poor reviews, but I'm writing this after a terrible night's sleep. I was very excited about to try this place. I was most excited to find that this place offers a family suite with enough beds for all of us (2 Queens & a King in a separate room). After spending the exceptionally hot-for-the-area day at the Rebels & Renegades Festival, we were all looking forward to a shower & some air conditioning. The parking garage is small & parking was tough in my Durango. A minor inconvenience. We walked into the room (415) & it was super hot. I immediately turned on the AC under the window. The door to the King bedroom was locked so my husband went outside & into that room (416) then opened the door between the two rooms. Side note: this set up is strange. Why is it two separate rooms with 416 doesn't have a bathroom? But whatever. Here's where it went downhill for me. 416 also does not have an AC unit. We called downstairs to see if they had a fan or something but they did not have one available. The room was so hot even with the window open & the AC on in 415, I couldn't stay in there. My mom & daughter shared one Queen, my son & I shared the other & my poor husband stuck it out in the hot room. The beds were comfy enough but little things I noticed (sure, I noticed these things after being irritated about the lack of AC) were like dingy looking throw pillows on the bed, the toilet paper holder is hanging on by a thread. It's not the worst place I've ever stayed in BUT at about $500 for this one night, I'm very disappointed & wish I'd saved the money & made the 3 hour drive home.

Deb K.

Yelp
It's a great place to stay. It's very clean and in a convenient location . They have wonderful and kind service from the staff (carol, John and Jennifer). We will stay there again.

Jan P.

Yelp
Big waste of over $700 for 2 nights. They even charge extra $17 per night for parking. Check in was uneventful. Cute little bag of snacks. Security measures are good for elevator use. Room was boring. King bed, cheesy furniture. Decent bathroom. Awful water pressure. Took forever to rinse off. Location is fine but so are other hotels. This is not an Inn, it's just a motel. Desk closes at 10:30pm. No frills. Nice to have outdoor fire pits but didn't partake. I would definitely check out other lodgings if back in the Monterey area.

Orlando D.

Yelp
Very disappointed with Wave Steet inn. I was charged fees for a reservation that I did not make. I spoke to the hotel property staff member, and she reassured me that they would refund my charge. I have followed up over the last two months with the same staff member and was given the same message that they will refund my charges and contact me with the follow-up. 1. 58 days in, and I have followed up 4 times 2. No refund to date 3. No call back from management 4. I'll report business to my credit card company Will not do business with this motel moving forward

Stephanie D.

Yelp
We had a great stay in the hotel . It's very clean and we even got to check in early. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and kind. I like you have to have your room key to get into the elevator keeps random people away . It's in a great location easy 7 min walk to the aquarium and just steps away from Canary Row. Definitely a good bang for your buck so nice being so close to everything. I would definitely come back for another stay. Thank you to the staff at the Wave street inn for your great customer service. Another added perk is on site private parking it's 17 bucks but well worth the money .

Cecilia C.

Yelp
Great location, very friendly staff. Thank you Jon and Carole. Would definitely stay here again! Walking distance to so many things. Room was clean and bed was comfy.

Mike H.

Yelp
Great location. Great service. Would stay here again. Walkable to everything. LOVED IT!!!

Jamie W.

Yelp
Totally acceptable for a one or two night's stay in Monterey. First off, the location can't be beat. Just a block in either direction of great restaurants, the best antique store in Monterey and the attractions. The rooms are a good size and the bathroom is nice. The elevator is a pain the butt as there is only one so be prepared to maybe wait. $17/night for parking is reasonable for the area. They give out a nice little goodie bag when you get there which I thought was a nice touch.

Marc W.

Yelp
We had a very nice stay here at the Wave Street Inn. We got a king size bed on the fourth floor and to our surprise, it had a great view of the bay! The rooms are clean and spacious with an enormous TV and instant hot water. It is in a great location right on Cannery Row, walking distance from restaurants and the aquarium. Be mindful that parking is $17/day (that was bit of an unpleasant surprise), All in all, I would stay here again. Our room with the view was 409, but you can also get 415 or 411.

Emily R.

Yelp
Wave street Inn was the perfect hotel for your trip to Monterey!!! It's walking distance to everything you need. John, Carol, and Kristen were terrific. They made booking & check in very smooth. They were all so kind and accommodating for our entire stay( thank you guys!!!) I recommend walking to the antique mall it's two blocks away from this hotel and it's WORTH IT! Parking was 17$ a day which wasn't terrible because everything is walking distance. I also recommend walking to Sea Harvest for some Fish & Chips it's right behind the hotel. Conveniently there is a Cvs right up the street incase you need anything. It was very windy and cold so we were not able to utilize the fire pits :( but so cute Room was very clean 10/10 Stay here!!!!!

Yelp
Location is great. Over the top expensive for what it is. No closet in my room. No ironing board, no iron, no breakfast. Parking extra fee. Stuffy. But this is the post COVID era to gouge guests. The pendulum will swing eventually and I will remember these folks when recession comes around.

Kristal P.

Yelp
The location is convenient and the staff were nice. We received two goodies bags of snacks when we checked in which my kids enjoyed. Our room 207 had mold and the bedding was horrible !

David K.

Yelp
This is a remodeled (some paint and sliding bathroom doors) motel/inn. The good, Clean room, good location 3 blocks to aquarium, close to restaurants and shopping,, mini fridge, safe. Plenty of towels. 24 hr front desk. The bad, super thin walls, in the morning could hear all the sliding restroom doors from surrounding rooms, this could be remedied from an updated roller? My home has sliding barn doors and are extremely quiet. My neighbor knocked on my wall at 10:01pm, my TV was on, not too loud either. Wall type ac/heat is loud (but newer and updated) Booked room 3 days in advance, checked price day of check-in and it was $100 less. Sucks. Could of stayed on the waterfront hotel for that price, which will do next time. Live and learn

Yelp
Planned a mini weekday getaway with my mom and I wanted for us to stay somewhere that was walking distance to the wharf as we scheduled to go on a whale watch tour the day we checked out. After doing some research, the Wave Street Street Inn seemed perfect for us. The staff was able to check us in a bit earlier than the usual check in time and we were given a bag of snacks which was a nice touch as it was something we brought for our tour the next day. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds and very clean. It's nice that the stairs were on the side of the street so it was easy for us to go in and out when we walked to Cannery Row, dinner, and to the wharf the next morning. We were able to check out later at 1 pm which was the max and it gave us enough time to walk back from the wharf after the tour ended at noon. When checking out, they told us that I was able to leave my car parked there for free (as I paid for parking when I checked in) for the day if we planned to stay around but since we were heading back to the wharf for lunch before going home, I didn't take them up on the nice gesture but will definitely note that for our next stay. The inn is a great location as you're able to walk all over Cannery Row and, the price was reasonable, rooms are clean, and staff is friendly.

Stacey F.

Yelp
Not bad. It took quite awhile to get our room, and when we did, we had to promptly go back to the front desk as our room hadn't been cleaned and there were mussed beds and used, wet towels strewn all about. We were given a different room and that one was clean. The facilities are a bit older, but not bad. The outdoor common space had some nice hang out spots that we utilized. I would recommend that they replace the walls, though, with glass fencing. It was a shame to sit outside and hear the ocean but see nothing but blue, wooden siding all around. Parking on site cost me almost $10 more than the garage across the street. So research that upon your arrival. The location is great, though; an easy block walk to Cannery Row. As for COVID-19 precautions, housekeeping staff and front desk staff all wore masks. There was hand sanitizer at the front desk and a glass shield. Hallways were wide enough to allow you to avoid patrons who stopped wearing their masks (and some of them, their shirts ans shoes) after checking in, but that isn't the staff's fault. We would stay here again if we were on a budget.

Terry K.

Yelp
I love the location of this place because it's so close to all the good restaurants and tourist attractions-you can walk to Fisherman's Wharf as well as Lover's Point if you desire. Additionally everyday services are close by as well- drug stores, cleaners, office services etc. Likewise there are numerous less traveled eateries in the surrounding New Monterey District as well as various shops. I enjoy people watching from the street facing rooms as well as the partial ocean views- I'm willing to put up the street noise. If you prefer quieter rooms simply choose those to the rear of the property. The rooms are always clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. The room safe and mini fridge are welcome pluses. Any issues that arise are quickly taken care of by the willing helpful staff-Christine,John and Carol. Wave Street Inn is my go-to place to stay in Monterey!!

Mary M.

Yelp
AWESOME Hotel...great for families. I would have given a five but there aren't microwaves. The parking is tight but that's every hotel in Monterey. This is my fourth time staying at this hotel; I stayed when it was Otter Inn, and it's been nicely upgraded. The Cafe across the street has amazing food. We went to Denny's one morning it's just down the street. Easy walk to the Aquarium. We stayed on the 2nd floor, no view of the ocean but it had the firepits, which the kids loved. AFFORDABLE, CLEAN & CONVENIENT

Yelp
Take your business somewhere else! I highly recommend go to another motels or inn around the area. I can tolerate the the thin walls, the $17 per day parking, the lack of amenities and weak water, but I cant accept rude customer service /front desk person. We stayed in this inn last memorial weekend, and this guy named JESSE was so rude. I really hope the management see this review and talked to this guy. This Jesse is really bad in customer's service. To management: if your employee is not happy with his job, he should not be in the front desk! Last memorial weekend, this JESSE seems like having a bad day! When Jesse checked us in, he was grumpy, no smile, and rude. He snapped and said, "you can look for another place to stay" HELLO!!! It was already around 8:30 pm, long weekend and it Saturday. UNBELIEVABLE! I cant believe this guy said that...!!! Dude, there was no need to be rude to customers like that!!! Nobody was rude to you! You snapped first! I really hope the management see this review, coz your employee JESSE is ruining your business with bad customer service! Hi Tim, DONT BOTHER!!!! I bet you just say that to all complaining customers!!!

Rochelle R.

Yelp
Very beautiful hotel! John the front desk was pleasant and defiantly made our stay at the hotel even better. He was helpful and very attentive to our needs. The rooms were clean and very modern. Lots of charging outlets, king size bed and beautiful view of Monterey! Walking distance to all the tourist spots and restaurants!

Mike And Dana O.

Yelp
What a comfortable stay! This team provides service levels that we've seen at some of the best hotels around the world -- really. The location is central to all things Cannery Row, with nice walks to Pacific Grove and the Wharf. Firepits and tables nearby make a great spot to relax with friends and family; this was truly a bonus for our group! Recommend higher floor with ocean view. Can be a little noisy early on weekend evenings but, it's Monterey, things wind down early.

Carla B.

Yelp
Conveniently located off Cannery Row, check in was a breeze, convenient parking, rooms were a nice size, beds were comfy, room was clean and the shower was awesome! Will definitely stay here again!!

Uvence M.

Yelp
The staff are very professional and the rooms are always clean. I've stayed here three times now. Great views from the room and everything is walking distance.

Sabrina D.

Yelp
We booked through Hotels.com for the weekend of April 5-7, 2019 to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. It was $233/night for a standard king, pretty pricey to me, but we enjoyed our stay very much. I called earlier in the week to let them know we were coming for our anniversary and to request a room on the top floor. They made a note of it and to check back the same day to see what they had available. We arrived and checked in Friday night around 6:30. Parking garage had ample parking. Lobby is very tiny. We were greeted by a professional young lady, but not really friendly, as she didn't smile during our interaction. She ensured that we had a top floor room and gave us our room keys. We got a welcome bag of snacks: peanuts, granola bar, and 3 pastry claws. She verbalized the hotel WiFi to us, but I think it would be easier as a courtesy to write it for your guests. Elevator is a bit slow, but functional. I didn't see any stairs. We were given room 308, which had a nice bay window view of the street and partial ocean. Room was clean, modern, pillow top bed was comfortable, bathroom had a single barn-style sliding door with a glazed glass. I always check for bed bugs and they passed the test! I didn't see any. Our king room had a stand up shower, but I was hoping for a tub. No biggie. I love how the toilets conserve water! Flush up for bowel movements and flush down for urine. Bathroom came with a vanity mirror, hair dryer, and your usual bathroom products. I really love how their bar soap smells! The barn door slides to cover the closet if it's open to the bathroom. The carpets felt really plush and clean. The side tables were spacious and had roomy drawers (also quiet closing, if you try to slam it, it slows and closes quietly on its own), each bedside sconce had an on/off button and adjustor to dim/brighten the light. Nice touch if I wanted to stay up to read a book. Each side table, the TV stand, as well as the alarm clock were equipped with charger outlets for your phones and Apple products. Be careful moving the alarm clock because I think I accidentally pushed the button, it went off and woke us up at 6am! The room also came with a desk chair, 2 lounge chairs, a small spherical table in between, Keurig machine, and a fridge. As with many hotels, walls are thin, but I always bring my own ear plugs to block out sound. Hubby said there was an annoying bird making noise in the morning, but not the fault of the hotel. I called down to reception because it wasn't the top floor as I requested. There are 4 floors in the building. Her excuse was all the rooms on the top floor have no view and all the ones available were double queens. Not true because I've seen pics on here where it says a 4th floor room and it had a pic of a bay window. No need to lie, I used to work at a hotel. Just say all the king rooms on the 4th floor are taken. I didn't want to take up a double queen room with just the two of us, so I didn't want to be THAT type of customer/guest! We didn't get to use the 2nd floor fire pits and chair area. This hotel is centrally located and walking distance to everything. There's Sea Harvest next door, which we didn't get to visit, but always looked busy. We needed to get water and milk our first night, so we walked to CVS, which was only the next block away, pretty much across the street diagonally! We even walked to our massage treatment at Monterey Day Spa, only 3 blocks away! On our walk back, we discovered Cannery Row Antique Mall, only 1 or 2 blocks away! I spent 3 hours there, and when hubby had to poop, he walked back to our room and came back to the antique store no problem! You can even walk to Starbucks and many other places nearby! We walked on the trail our last morning to Fisherman's Wharf to get clam chowder. Only a mile there and then a mile back. Service was great because my husband called down to request more coffee pods, as we only had decaf, and they came up right away to bring it! I don't even think we waited 5 mins! Checkout was smooth. The lady at the desk had a smile and was very courteous and friendly! My only negatives about the place are the parking fee for $16 /day, and the fact that they don't have a microwave. I wish they had a microwave to heat up our leftover food. I'd stay here again, but because of those, I'm more likely to hunt for other hotels first that do have a microwave and free parking before considering Wave Street Inn again.

Paige H.

Yelp
The hotel was clean, our room had an ocean view and Jesse from the front desk was amazing! He was super friendly, had great restaurant recommendations and was just a nice guy. Will definitely come back here!

Dominique S.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, clean rooms, the decoration is simple and functional. They are located close to the Aquarium and parking is FREE! I travel with a 3-year-old on board. He loved the second-floor fireplace and sitting area. Plus, the employees were welcoming and helpful.

Katie F.

Yelp
Underwhelming to say the least. Pros: The bed was comfy, had a large TV and prime location. Cons: No formal lobby area and lack of amenities.

Adriana S.

Yelp
I already miss being in this hotel and Monterey had a wonder stay here definitely will stay here again when we go back Staff was nice Room was nice and had a good view. I've seen some reviews where people say the air conditioning was loud It wasn't even that loud atleast in our room I had no problem with that. And loved that it's walking distance to everything I will definitely recommend people to stay here as well (:

Bobby P.

Yelp
Excellent hotel. Booked last minute for a little getaway. Street-side room had a nice window overlooking the ocean. Very clean, well maintained. Staff was friendly, courteous. Super conveniently located two blocks from Cannery Row. Comfortable bed, good shower temp and pressure. It's a wonderful place to stay if you find the fancy local hotels too expensive. It's relatively quiet but this is Monterey so expect seagulls and some traffic. I will be back!

Jeff L.

Yelp
It's a pretty nice hotel and recently renovated. It was Centrally located close to everything which was nice. The only and main complaint we had is the rooms don't have a latching mechanism or a chain on the door and it's very unsafe for a toddler. He was able to easily unlock the deadbolt. This is honestly a simple fix and would be a good idea for family rooms. We had to place our suitcase in front of the door to ensure he didn't escape. The beds were also almost too soft and seemed broken down. The bathroom was nice size but didn't have any way to lock the sliding barn door. Overall we were happy and will most likely stay here again.

Ria A.

Yelp
Upon check in you are greeted with a goodie bag filled with peanuts, granola bars, and Gardettos. We get to our room which is nice, but the first thing we hear is loud squeaking of the ceiling from the people above us. (It's a 4 floor hotel, we were on the 2nd). The floors/ceilings were so thin you could literally hear every step. It drove us crazy so we had to call to see if we could get a room on the 4th floor but were told they were sold out hmmm. We left to have dinner but came back to the same annoying sound ugh!! The location is great and the staff were nice. I don't think we will be returning unfortunately.

R B.

Yelp
Its a nice hotel located in between the wharf and cannery row, however, not alot of amenities. Its my goto hotel in Monterey, mainly for location and price. They have done some upgrades from when I went last to years before, even changing the name but all in all, its a good hotel.

Sarah G.

Yelp
Me and my significant other came here for our third year anniversary and honestly loved the entire stay. The location is perfect if you're not crazy about finding/paying for parking near the beach hot spots or the warf-- everything is within walking distance. I was able to avoid stepping foot in my car the whole trip! However, the hotel does have a daily parking fee -- which I personally didn't mind since that was the ONLY parking fee I had to pay. The inn is mostly quiet -- and the staff were always very helpful and kind. There are fire pits downstairs -- a feature that had a hand in helping me pick this location (Open flames are a great child/family deterrents). I would recommend this inn for couples who just want a simple, quiet getaway. Our fourth year anniversary is coming up soon in the next few months and we plan on staying here again!

Yelp
We stayed here Friday-Sunday July 2021 in room 201. Pros: -Friendly staff! I was able to check in 1pm instead of 4pm allowing my toddler to take her afternoon nap. The lady on the phone was so nice and offered her recommendations for a room on the quiet side considering I am a light sleeper. -Location Location Location! Seriously, the location was perfect! A block away from Cannery Row, and the beach. We visited for the aquarium which was only a 10 min walk. -AC, very hot water and large tub, TV had Comcast and lots of channel options for toddler and adults to enjoy. Cons: -We heard everything!! From the cleaning lady upstairs, the room next to us talking at night, every car and motorcycle driving by, and every time the room above us would use the restroom, shower, close the closet door or just walk around! Bring headphones and melatonin to get yourself some sleep. -Beds/pillows were a little too soft for our liking. You literally sink in and don't have much back support. -the bathroom sink had a leak! Got most of our toiletries wet, every day. We wrapped a towel around the faucet and by the end of our stay the towel were soaked and leaked on the floor. -Price was a little high for how run down/small our room was. You have to pay for parking, $17 each day. Parks are very close together and bare when leaving at night. Even with our AAA discounts the price we paid wasn't worth the value.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised at the location and condition of my room at the Wave St. Inn. My room had recently been redecorated with a soothing ocean theme and relaxing blue and orange colors. It was very tastefully done. I had a filtered bay view of kayakers and fishing boats. It was a stone's throw from Cannery Row but not subjected to the noise. I was close to many excellent restaurants, too. A nice touch was receiving a "goody bag" with delightful snacks upon check in. This hotel provided excellent value for the area and I will definitely return.

Yelp
I was really pleased with my stay here. The staff, room, and amenities even during covid were great! They even had fireplaces available for people to use! We had an ocean view from our room. Very nice and quiet inn. Highly recommend.

Yelp
So I just stayed here last two nights and I am pretty impressed. It's not a hotel and it's not a motel....it's a little bit of both. Location is AMAZING, you can walk to the Main Street where the Monterey Bay Aquarium is at in less than 5 minutes. It's clean and modern. It's quiet too except for the birds, I suggest taking ear plugs if nature bothers you. I would recommend it.

Yelp
Once we parked our car, we walked everywhere! Perfect location for this cute little hotel. It's about a block walk to Cannery Row and another block the opposite direction to even more shops and restaurants. The room is decorated so cute! There's no amenities really but who needs them when you are a short walk to EVERYTHING?! They have a cute fire pit and chairs on the main deck that is a perfect way to end your day. Super easy check in, friendly staff, and safe location. I'll be back for sure!

Yelp
I wished I could give this cute hotel a 10 star rating! They were so accommodating with hotel price adjustment, early check out without fees and such personable staff. The room was cute and comfortable as can be. Literally one block up off cannery row from Ghirardelli. Location was everything! We loved the fire pits and the beautifully decorated rooms. We have found out new spot when in monterey! Christine goes above and beyond and does everything she can to please their guests. She's an angel and the sweetest!!

Yelp
Great looking hotel, very close to Cannery Row, about two blocks. The rooms look great the bathroom is amazing. The front desk staff are friendly and professional, the night time guy gave us a spoon at 8pm because I forgot one at the restaurant. BUT the rooms are not sound proof at all!! From 2 am until 6 am all I can hear are seagulls and the people in the room above me. It sounds like the floor is an inch thick. You can tell when they go to the bathroom because they slam the barn style bathroom door. The good thing is the air conditioner is so loud you can't heard them over the noise it makes..... I fell asleep at 6am to wake up to house keepers in the room above us at 8:00..... I will NOT becoming back here. Fuck this fancy place.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE this boutique hotel!! It looks industrial and sleek!! The interior of the room is modern and cozy and CLEAN!! Did I mention clean? Thanks!! The housekeeping did a great job!!! The staffs are friendly and helpful!! Excellent location of down town Monterey!! The only thing they can improve is the water pressure of the shower head, and the cream for the coffee. I can use a lot more cream, and no powder please;) The cream is minor but the water pressure really took away a whole star (and I am glad it's not winter), a nice full-strength hot shower will definitely enhance the experience much further and earn the extra star!!

Yelp
Amazing stay. Can't believe how hard it is to find a clean hotel in the area that's not going to cost an arm and a leg. This hotel was very clean and thankfully our room was ready ahead of time. A very short walk to Cannery Row which is a major plus. Only a few downsides to the room which didn't bother me plenty because it was 1 night. But for families staying a few nights you might want to consider these things. I stayed on the second floor which isn't an issue as the elevator is right by the ($17 a day) parking structure attached to the hotel but from our bathroom we can see a parking lot and Main Street behind us which again not a huge deal just noisy and the seagulls went crazy each time an alarm went off. The room was clean and very nice but very tiny. The space between the bed and the tv and desk was very tight which made a walkway bare minimum. I didn't like how there were no screens on any of the windows and if you left your front window open anyone can jump through and come in without a key. The fridge barely kept any of our food cold (ended up tossing most of it because it was slightly warm) good place to store drinks. The bathroom didn't have a lock so I was walked in on multiple times. It's just a slider door with no way to secure it close. If you're with family just leave it open lol. Again I'm extremely picky with hotels and did tons of research. Everything was great the staff and the guy at the front desk extremely professional and welcoming. Even got a nice snack pack at check in. Just minor things that could help increase the scores but had a great time. On the floor I stayed there were fire pits too where you can hang out and enjoy the warmth and cold breeze. Overall definitely would stay again and recommend it.

Yelp
Pros: The room was modern, clean and the staff was super friendly. The room had a great view of the ocean. Plenty of covered parking. Room rates are reasonable. Cons: The bathroom door was a barn door style with opaque panels. It did not do anything for inhibiting light or sound projection. Also, the walls seem a little thin. Overall: I would stay here again and I would recommend it.

Yelp
Lovely little remodeled inn in the heart of Cannery Row! You can walk to the Aquarium in 5-10 minutes. The decor is modern & beachy. The bed is comfy & cozy. The bathroom is roomy & nicely done. The tv is actually large enough to enjoy watching from the bed. There's a Keurig in the room with coffee pods, but only powdered creamer. My advice to this is bring your own creamer, because you have a mini fridge in the room (or get the minis you don't have to refrigerate). At check in we were given a bag of snacks which was a cute idea so you can sleep in & have coffee & something to nibble on in the room without feeling like you have to run out to breakfast first thing. The bathroom has a nice sized tub & shower combo, although the water pressure is on the light side. The price of the room was very reasonable for the area. Parking is $15 but they'll let you stay parked there the day of checkout until 4pm. Also, the check in process was easy & the girl at the desk was friendly & helpful in offering eating spots. Overall great spot & we'll for sure be back next time we're in Monterey!!! Side note: went to Lalla Oceanside Grill for dinner & it was great!

Yelp
I use to love coming here with my family. With everything going on in the world it would have been nice to get away and enjoy one of my favorite places - Monterey. The new manager - Christine - is a total bitch and has zero customer service. I feel sorry for the people who have to work under her. I made a reservation I wasn't going to be able to make and as soon as she answered the phone she had an attitude before we even began to have a conversation. I was polite and told her the situation and she LIED at first about not being able to cancel my reservation. Then told me I'm not allowed back to her hotel after she cancelled the reservation. What??? Is that even legal to tell me I can't come back when I'm a paying customer? I have never had an issue here until her. She took whatever bad day she is having out on me. Beware of manager.
