Bustling, long-running bakery crafting cakes, tortes, donuts & other treats since 1930.
"A Southwest Side staple, Weber’s Bakery has been pleasing Chicagoans for decades. Eaters might have to wait in line but it’s worth it for a taste of the European-inspired breads, cakes and pastries. To celebrate the holiday season, customers can choose specialty goods like gingerbread houses, Christmas cookies, fruit cakes and more. It's also a great spot for paczki, the popular Polish doughnuts." - Ashok Selvam
"Webers has been around for a long time (since 1930 to be exact). And if you’ve ever eaten those tiny pre-packaged glazed donuts at the gas station, this South Side shop is for you. Specifically their chocolate-covered cake donut. The chocolate icing has a rich cocoa flavor and isn’t too sweet. Plus, it covers the donut with the right amount of thickness to complement (not overshadow) the flavor of the cake." - adrian kane, john ringor
"Customers can get a teeny bit tipsy off of the paczki at this South Side institution, which adds a splash of brandy (sometimes grain alcohol) to the dough. This year’s selection includes apple cinnamon, strawberry buttercream, and lemon custard; minimum orders are half a dozen. They’ll be available from Thursday, February 8 through Fat Tuesday. Orders can be made in-store, placed online, or by phone." - Naomi Waxman, Ashok Selvam
"Atomic Cake: Born on the city’s South Side, this lesser-known dessert that dates back to the Atomic Age (aka the 1950s) is an indulgent combination of banana, yellow, and chocolate cake. The three layers are separated by glazed strawberries and sliced bananas with Bavarian custard, and topped with rich fudge and whipped cream frosting. Long-standing Weber’s Bakery calls its version a “Banana Split Torte.”" - Eater Staff, Ashok Selvam
"Weber’s Bakery in Garfield Ridge has some of our favorite donuts, but they also have a wide variety of sweet pies. You can order everything from standard fruit pies to pumpkin to strawberry whipped cream here." - john ringor
