Charming shop offering seasonal array of small-batch, custardy ice cream made from organic milk.
"Back like they haven’t left, Weckerly’s specializes in French-style ice cream made with local, seasonal ingredients. It’s also arguably the best place in Philly to grab an ice cream sandwich with creative flavors (such as lemon berry graham, strawberry breakfast, and lemon blueberry)." - Ernest Owens, Eater Staff
"Weckerly’s is an old-fashioned scoop shop on Girard in Fishtown. And given how delicious it is, it doesn’t get nearly as much foot traffic as it should. They specialize in small batches of seasonal flavors, like honeysuckle and cinnamon toasted oats, which means you don’t really know what you’re going to get when you walk through the door—but we’ve never had a flavor that we don’t love. The best thing they do here is their ice cream sandwiches, which change just about as often as their flavors do, and have ridiculous crusts made out of things like shortbread and coffee cake." - candis mclean, alison kessler
"This Fishtown favorite for French-style ice cream is selling scoops and ice cream sandwiches via online ordering and curbside pickup. Follow along on Instagram to catch the next ordering window, and move quickly before everything sells out. Weckerly’s owners are currently working on a plan to reopen for walk-up orders." - Sarah Maiellano
"A micro-creamery with a mission rooted in using locally sourced ingredients, Weckerly’s has been scooping up its deliciously bold ice cream (think flavors like blueberry rhubarb swirl and lemon cookie dream) since 2012. While you might prefer more traditional ice cream in a cone or cup, the ice cream sandwiches (with options like black and white, blueberry cream, and a people’s choice made with coffee ice cream incorporating beans from Caphe Roasters) are equally satisfying." - George Banks-Weston
