Wei’s - Fort Greene

Me and my buddy came to visit NYC. My buddy's family owns this place so I had to check it out. The waitress was really sweet, polite and pretty cool to talk too. The inside was really clean and a comfortable feel. The owner came out to meet me personally and conversations with him. Such a cool guy. The food... OOOHHHH the food!!!! I had the Chicken Lo Mein and that was one of the best Lo Mein I have ever had. I was informed that the owner makes the Lo Mein from scratch and it was worth it. Me and my buddy tried the dumplings, chive pancake and pickled cabbage. OOOHHHH amazing. I wish I can give 10 stars but Google only allows up to 5 stars.

My wife and I have been looking for a good neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I think we've found it. This small, unpretentious spot has an excellent menu and delicious food. We started with hot and sour soup and pork and chive steamed dumplings. Both were very well done. Our favorite hot and sour soup is made by Beijing Restaurant in Montreal, but this is not far off -- spicy, strong vinegar flavor, thick with chicken and mushrooms. Our main course was steamed Chinese broccoli with garlic, and Wei's special chicken (pictured). All very well-prepared. Reasonable prices and pleasant service.

I always order the salt and pepper shrimp and it was a excellent dish however recently I noticed the shrimp being used is not the same quality as before. It’s much bigger and rubbery which brings down the taste a lot, also the portion has decreased. I hope the restaurant goes back to the old ingredients to maintain a better taste.

Wei's is amazing, I normally go to the Williamsburg location, so I have Fort Green a try, Amazing food, there are some different items from the Williamsburg menu, #spicyshrimp hit the spot and the #dumplings were spot on. #chinesefoodnyc #nyceats #brooklyneatery #chinesefood

Always a delight coming to Wei’s! This location is smaller than their Williamsburg one, but it’s vibey and intimate and the food is just as delicious. My go-to is the spicy tofu entree and the phenomenal spicy peanut wontons for an appetizer. But I’ve tasted plenty of other dishes and have never been disappointed. This place rocks and I highly recommend it!

I finally paid this place a visit and when I did I learned that they also have indoor dining! Very chic cozy and inviting! The front house is nice and clean, of course we don’t know what the back house looks like anyway, I went straight to the counter and requested takeout. I ordered Egg Fried Rice and General Tso Chicken, the service is nice but serving size very small and the Egg Fried Rice wasn’t what I expected and certainly Not what I paid for $8.50! Not a real value for the money you’re spending. Barely any egg if at all! I was so shocked I took photos of what they served me. Unfair not nice. Not even onions or scallions! Just plain fried rice with some soy sauce! I tried to upload photos but unable to.

Love Wei’s restaurant, but the Fort Green location I would never revisit. It was my first time going on Thursday night. The greeter was polite, but the woman serving me did not say hi or introduce herself at all. She was more nicer and made conversation with other tables, did not thank me for my visit and she seemed to not want to serve me at all. Great food, but will definitely go to my regular Williamsburg location next time..

Hot & Sour Soup is delicious! Tangy, just enough spice. Vegetables are crisp and fresh. Huge portion

This place was soooo good. I came fairly late and was so happy they were opened at 9pm. Party of 4. The staff was very accommodating. Salt and pepper shrimp is a must. Scallion pancakes were tasty. My friends enjoyed the duck. We also ordered shredded beef and a side of bok choy. I'm very pleased

I'd give this spot 10 stars. Not one thing disappointed us here . First off we were warmly greeted , the hostess continued this welcoming caring demeanor throughout out stay. We were offered the wine/beer list but opted for water since we were on out way to a beer tasting afterwards. I ordered the hot and sour soup of course ( my personal ultimate test). OH MY Goodness!!! I honestly questioned if I've ever had real hot and sour soup before this. I was blown away by the deep rich flavor. Don't laugh, but my eyes welled up with tears of joy, I'm often not that moved by food but boy oh boy, this was beyond amazing. I knew right about then I would only want Hot and Sour Soup from Wei's. I immediately called the hostess over to tell her how delicious this was, she was smiling but not too surprised she boasted that it's because they make everything fresh. You could tell it was the truth. The portion was enough for 2 and she noticed my hubby wasn't eating any and asked why. I said he's not a big fan. She urged him to try and served him some.His eyes lit up. He devoured a bowl right away and said he probably never liked previous ones because they never tasted great like this. After that every dish we had stayed on level . I think this is the most well seasoned grub we've had. Sesame, soy sauce, garlic, lemon grass onion, and every spice and herb - all very potent and flavorful. We had the fried chicken dumplings- even the dough by itself is seasoned . The Spicy Phoenix Chicken wing were fried to perfection and the fragrant spices shine through. I misread it as a hot spicy wing but I was wrong no heat but spicy and delicious still. We shared the Hand pulled Lo Mein with beef. The noodle was slightly chewy and great switch up from traditional lo mein noodles. The beef was tender and veggies fresh. I imagine this place is packed later in the day. I was glad we went early, it was unplanned but this area has a lot of food choices within walking distance. We simply didn't want to endure a long wait time so walked in as it was empty. The place was clean, and has a huge bathroom that I'm thinking can accommodate a wheelchair. The hostess said they have another location in Williamsburg. I'll be a regular at this one because it's closer to where I live. The food, service and ambiance were all on 10 star level perfecton. It's also located on the Clinton - Washington stop of the C train and the B25 bus right out front. Parking around here is a bit tough but public transportation is a winner for this location. I can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu and pair up the dishes with the suggested wines and beer.

Food is delicious. You could make your whole meal with just the garlic string beans. Just what the neighborhood needed

Easily one of my favourite joints in all of New York. Gorgeous dumplings, incredible hand-pulled noodles, and pickles with a kick. The service is spectacular and the ambiance is on point. Love the decor, and the music makes this place all the more magical. Great place for a date, sound-wise. Please check this place out!

I really wanted to love this. The interior is cute and I was excited to have a quick place like this near me. Unfortunately I found that it fell kind of flat, so much so that I had a few bites of everything but decided not to bring it home because I didn't care for it. Here are my food notes I wrote as I was dining: - Pork Belly & Veggie scallion pancake roll: pork belly had an off putting smoked flavor, very saucy but muted, almost soggy, scallion pancake was nice tho - Spicy peanut pork wontons: very mild peanut flavor, lacking in seasoning, chili oil plopped on top but flavor not infused - Chicken Lo Mein: chicken lacking salt, tastes like a microwave meal - No tables at 7 but half full by 7:30 on a Friday I think because this is the only Chinese sit down restaurant in the area For me, it's a miss and I won't be back. Service was fine. 2.5/5

Cute and small. I had this restaurant on my list for some time since it opened. I had some time and had a hankering for Chinese, so I parked across the street, paid the meter, and came in. I waited in the doorway to be seated while the server took a noisy family's order. I probably should've seen this as a sign to leave, but i stayed. The music was great, and the vibe was clean, Asian, "Urban hang suite." Very cute, yet minimalist. Eventually, i was seated with a glass of water and a menu. It was really cold outside and strangely enough. Cold inside the restaurant as well. After sitting a while, I only unbuttoned my coat because it was still too cold to take it off. Even after 15 minutes waiting, the restaurant itself was freezing, soooo strange. I looked at the menu, and a lot of the things that I saw online were no longer listed on the menu, so I selected shrimp fried rice. Simple, right? No. The shrimp were cut into pieces, and there were clumps of unseasoned rice, all through it. For the price, I was expecting more flavor, quality, and ingredients. I added some soy and chili oil, and it was edible. But coming across mystery crunchy bits was not my idea of a good time. Maybe I'll try the salt and pepper shrimp one day (it looked tasty), but it will definitely be warmer out.

I just ordered from there now, and I couldn't stay and eat. I'm starving and Ive been working all day. I don't like the service . They didn't ask me if I wanted to stay they just figured I wanted to take out. And when I walked inside there were two people sitting down eating. Like wtf!!!??? They seem prejudice and racist. Yes this happened today Friday 10-25-2024 around 6 pm . SMH! I'm so dissatisfied. There's no sauce to go with my foo. they provided me with only chopsticks. They did not proved me a regular utensils, like a Spoon or fork, I had to ask the lady to provide me with a spoon. I'm so mad !!!!!

Have been eating my way through the menu and been joined by neighbors who also love Wei's. The place is small and spartan. The service is friendly, professional, and welcoming. The food is terrific - if you know what to order. If you're looking for the usual greasy corner Chinese Sesame Chicken or General Tso's - go elsewhere - and don't order those dishes. Try the Salt & Pepper chicken, the Hai Pai Beef, Wei's Favorite or Wei's spicy... also, the dumplings are hand pulled lo Mein are ON POINT! Scallion pancakes are lovely, the vegetarian selections are excellent. All of the soups are great. I treasure having this place so close to home.

At last classic Chinese food like from the 90s , but I don't feel awful afterwards. Plus a cute location. Sooo happy to have such a great place with nice people.

I ordered takeout from Wei's on a sick day--hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, and pork soup dumplings. The order arrived in terrible condition, whoever packed the food put two soup containers into a plastic bag that was too small, causing them to topple over. The soup dumplings were also packed crooked. The hot and sour soup was completely destroyed so I didn't get to try it. The dumplings were broken, all the broth was gone, and the dipping sauce was also destroyed in the bag. And the egg drop soup was bland ..... really disappointing. I wanted to like this place.

If it's as good as the Wei's on Borinquen, it's got to be great. I'll be ordering the green beans with garlic sauce and some soup dumplings.

I ate here recently with my family. We really enjoyed the food. The lo mein was really great as was the fish dish. Only four stars because the ambiance isn't great.

We live around the corner and have now ordered 3 times from Wei's! Have loved everything we've ordered and the service could not be friendlier.

Good quality Chinese food. Nothing too exciting. Just the dishes you know made better probably. I will be back. It's inexpensive and delicious and shoiud be part of your rotation too. However, if a Chinese restaurant opens up in the area that is in fact, exciting, it might give Wei's a run for its money. For now, let's be thankful we have one spot, and it's good.

Delicious authentic asian cuisine- not any easy find in this part of BK that is not 'Cheap Chinese' from a whole in the wall. we received f courteous service and it's just a real neighbourhood find!

Very different than Wei Williamsburg location, in terms of food quality. I ordered the General Tso tofu, and the chicken dumplings. The tofu was rock hard, extremely over cooked small bites of tofu, pretty much inedible or you may break a tooth. The chicken dumplings are bland, and I'm surprised as they are my favorite dumplings at the Wei Williamsburg location. Very disappointed in the meal here.
