Sourdough croissants, honey pie, benne loaves, pizza

"A snug bakery that draws a line around the block, Weltons Tiny Bakeshop specializes in decadent creations and unique Southern variations, from crackly kouign-amann dusted with cardamom sugar to Lowcountry yogurt parfaits packed with peaches and golden sourdough loaves studded with benne seeds." - Jai Jones
"Welton’s Tiny Bakeshop is there for you when you’re craving a croissant in the morning or a slice of cake at any random hour. The bakery is indeed tiny, and usually has a line out the door with people waiting for handmade and naturally leavened baked goods. The line does move fast, especially when you’re chatting with locals and visitors about what you’re finally going to order when you make it inside. Highlights include the cadamom kouignn-amman and the seasonal kolaches—our favorite on a recent visit was a dreamsickle version, featuring candied oranges and a vanilla bean cream cheese. For lunch, both the croissant and muffuletta sandwiches are worth the visit alone." - Jai Jones

"Ever since Zachary and Hannah Welton opened Welton’s Tiny Bakeshop in 2022, there’s been a line out front for their seasonal pastries and sweets. The honey pie is a fan favorite, but the buttery chocolate chip cookies, seasonal handpies, and slices of chocolate cake are at the top of the list, too." - Erin Perkins

"Welton’s Fine Foods started popping up around the Lowcountry with its naturally leavened, slightly charred pies in 2019, and now it has a home base for its pizza parties at Welton’s Tiny Bakeshop. Most Sundays, owners Zachary and Hannah Welton announce the pizza lineup for the day on Instagram, which usually includes a hot honey and pepperoni pie or a seasonal selection, like a recent green garlic pie." - Erin Perkins

"At Welton's Tiny Bakeshop in Charleston I enjoyed honey pie and benne loaves from Zachary and Hannah Welton." - Dobrina Zhekova
