Beyond Meat Is Developing Plant-Based Bacon | Eater

"The Baconator sandwich is invoked as an icon of bacon excess, even appearing as a garnish in over-the-top creations like Epic Meal Time’s TurBacon; it serves as an example of how a fast‑food item can embody bacon’s grease-soaked, novelty-driven appeal and the broader cultural mania around adding bacon to everything." - Jenny G. Wendy’s Spicy Nuggets Will Return on August 19 | Eater

"A national fast-food chain that has been staging high-profile social media stunts around the return of its spicy chicken nuggets, which were pulled from menus in March 2017. The brand leveraged celebrity attention (including a Chance the Rapper tweet) to promise a reinstatement in exchange for two million retweets, teased fans with a cryptic Google Calendar “lunch” invite for August 19 and nugget-themed imagery, and has previously run publicity stunts such as a lifetime (non-spicy) nugget giveaway and even a mixtape of dis tracks aimed at competitors. The spicy nuggets themselves are celebrated by some critics for an intense, building heat, and the company’s sporadic reappearances of the item appear designed to create a cult-like, McRib-style phenomenon to drive excitement. The promotional push has also occurred amid criticism and campus protests over the chain’s refusal to work with tomato growers affiliated with the Fair Food Program, drawing public rebukes from figures like Amy Schumer and Alyssa Milano while the company so far has not announced a change in sourcing practices." - Greg Morabito

How Food Brands Pander to Millennials on Twitter | Eater

"Known for a transition from sharp-roasted burns to eye-rolling pop-culture riffs, this burger chain seized on a Chance the Rapper mention about a spicy nugget to launch a like-driven campaign promising to bring the item back if fans hit two million likes, turning an offhand tweet into a full-blown, attention-grabbing marketing stunt." - Greg Morabito

Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Nuggets Are Returning, Thanks to Twitter and Chance the Rapper | Eater

"After a two-year absence, its spicy chicken nuggets are set to return following a viral social-media push from Chance the Rapper, whose playful "positive affirmations" and the brand's challenge that 2 million likes could sway decision-makers prompted a rapid reversal; the company confirmed the comeback by Sunday night but said timing is still to be determined. While the moment has been billed as a feel-good marketing win, activists and celebrities—including Amy Schumer—have criticized the company’s labor practices, pointing out its refusal to join a program aimed at protecting farm workers from sexual misconduct and arguing that ethical sourcing and worker dignity should take priority over promotional stunts." - Jenny G. I was in the car driving home had to turn car light on so the picture isn’t great but my chicken sandwich was partially raw. Much more pink and wet looking in person. Sandwich felt COLD. And fries were disgusting soggy and greasy. Don’t come here. Please listen to other reviews. There’s 0 reason anyone should ever be served raw food.

It took a minute for someone to come to the speaker. The young man was really nice & friendly. He was working both the drive-thru & the front counter. He stated he was just told they were closing early at 10 & he was going to work both since it was slow & only had a few hours to go. The food was hot & fresh.

Some Wendy's are just better than others. This place is like going into a time machine to a better time. The burgers were better than I've had in a ling while. Thank you.

Where do I even begin: First off, the chick running the front counter was personality-free, not to mention rude. Second, their scanner was broken, so I couldn’t earn points in the app (they still let me use a coupon in the app, by inputting the discount in the register manually without using my app), which sucked because I have a lot of points. 👎👎👎

The manager needs to go. He’s rude to his employees rude to customers. I came into the store to get something to eat. Stood at the counter for 10 minutes no one greeted me at all. Manager comes up to the counter while yelling at his employees to grab something. Never acknowledged me at all. I just left. If I did that I my job I’d be fired the next day. He needs to be terminated asap.

I've tried to avoid going to this Wendy's since the quality has been lower than others in the area. Well they had a re-opening and I thought I'd give them another shot on my way home. Big mistake, halfway through my chicken sandwich I find it's only been cooked at the edges. I'll absolutely never be going back.

This place is so dead ,the workers have given up . Close it down , what’s the point of being open if you can’t even get the food out in a timely manner let alone talk to the customer ordering the food.

Google
Opens up late. One worker. Suppose to serve breakfast, store don't open til 10am.
