The Best Dim Sum Restaurants In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Wentworth is right next to Triple Crown, and is a great backup if you don’t want to wait. Though they only serve dim sum from 9am-4pm and the space is small compared to the other banquet-style spots, it’s still a solid choice for large groups—there are tables equipped with lazy Susans that can seat up to ten people. Their menu isn’t extensive, but they have great siu mai, har gow, and some fantastic crispy chive dumplings that we wish we could find in Jewel’s snack aisle. More filling XL options are also great, like the spare ribs and chicken feet combo that comes with rice, Chinese broccoli, and only costs $6.45." - john ringor, adrian kane, veda kilaru

The Best Restaurants in Chinatown Chicago | Eater Chicago

"We’re big fans of this spot on the main stretch of Chinatown. The live seafood is, predictably, what many folks are here for — ginger and onion lobster, Hong Kong-style dungeness crab, and steamed oysters with black bean sauce, just to name a few. But the daytime dim sum options are solid as well, and there’s a sizable bubble tea menu." - Jeffy Mai

Chicago’s Best Dim Sum Restaurants | Eater Chicago

"Dim sum by day and family-style restaurant by night. This is one of a few places in the city that is favored by the older generation, lots of family gatherings happen with tables piled high with baskets of fun goh and siu mai. Good value for the price and quality of food, along with comfortable and easy seating. No frills, but a good solid choice." - Karen Lee

Wentworth Seafood House - Review - Chinatown - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Wentworth Seafood House in Chinatown has a solid dim sum selection that's ideal for when you don't want to wait an hour to eat at the other, more popular spots in the area. Though they only serve dim sum from 9am-4pm and the space is small, it’s still a reliable place for large groups since they have tables that can seat up to ten people. As far as the food goes, they have delicious siu mai, har gow, and crispy chive dumplings. Their XL options on the dim sum menu are also very good, like the spare ribs and chicken feet combo that comes with rice, Chinese broccoli, and costs $6.45." - John Ringor

We brought a friend here for her first dim sum experience, and it didn’t disappoint. The dim sum was fantastic—flavorful and perfectly prepared. We also explored other dishes, including the clam and egg custard. While the custard’s silky, smooth texture was excellent, it could have benefited from a bit more seasoning. Another highlight was the steamed sea bass, which was simply exquisite. The delicate flavor of the fish was elevated by a subtle sweetness from the dates, complemented beautifully by the slivered ginger, green onions, and cilantro. The combination of flavors and aromas made this dish truly memorable. Overall, a wonderful dining experience!

Google
Fast, efficient service, I really enjoyed the tender steamed fish (came with soup made from the fish). The magicarp roasted milk tea is really delicious and creamy, not too sweet.

Google
Fast service and great food. My partner and I ordered an entree and a smaller dish and was never pressured to order more. We got (one) lobster soft noodles stir fry and salt and pepper egg tofu. The lobster was moist, juicy and sweet from freshness. The egg tofu was crispy outside and steaming hot and soft inside. Complimentary hot tea with the meal. Total for our meal came out to be around $60. Would come back to try other dishes. Very popular spot for Asian family style dining!

Wentworth Seafood House offers an authentic Chinese dining experience with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The decor features traditional touches and a comfortable dining space, perfect for both family gatherings and casual meals. The service is attentive, and you can sense the pride the restaurant takes in creating a welcoming environment. Food Highlights: 1. Beef Chow Fun - The beef chow fun was flavorful with a great balance of tender beef, fresh bean sprouts, and well-seasoned noodles. The wok hei (smoky flavor) was present, making this a delicious, classic dish. 2. Clay Pot Tofu and Seafood - This dish came bubbling hot and was packed with generous portions of seafood and tofu. The sauce was savory with a hint of sweetness, enhancing the dish’s rich flavors. Each bite was hearty and satisfying. 3. Fried Bean Curd Rolls - Served in a traditional bamboo steamer, the fried bean curd rolls were crispy on the outside and filled with a savory blend that paired well with tea. It’s a great choice for those who enjoy dim sum staples. 4. Steamed Custard Buns - These delightful buns are a must-try! The steamed exterior is soft and fluffy, giving way to a warm, sweet custard filling. Each bite is a comforting mix of creamy and mildly sweet flavors, making it the perfect dessert or treat alongside tea. They’re satisfying without being overly rich, a wonderful finish to the meal. Wentworth Seafood House embodies the essence of Chinatown dining. With its flavorful dishes, friendly staff, and comforting ambiance, it’s a spot worth visiting whether you’re in the mood for dim sum, seafood, or classic Cantonese dishes. Be prepared for a relaxed dining pace, which lets you enjoy each dish to its fullest. Would definitely return to explore more from their extensive menu!

Google
Wentworth Seafood House, located squarely on Old Chinatown’s main street, serves delicious, well-priced Chinese seafood and traditional dishes. As with most Chinese restaurants, it’s best and most affordable to come with a larger group and order multiple dishes family-style. It was crowded on a Friday night, but my group of 7 were able to get a table without much of a wait. It’s fairly spacious inside with a lot of seating, but can get a bit cramped when full. We ordered the following dishes (**= especially recommend): - Pan-fried beef with rice noodle: always a classic and go-to in any traditional Chinese restaurant; this one was cooked and flavored perfectly. - Eggplant Casserole**: super good! the eggplant was really delicious, creamy, and intensely flavorful. - Salt & Pepper Egg Tofu**: I’m always a huge fan of egg tofu, and this one was cooked very well, retaining lots of flavor with a crispy exterior and soft silky interior. - Walnut Shrimp: always delicious and a classic. - Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab**: really delicious! This dish was flavorful, crispy, and well-fried. - Sweet and Sour Fish Filet: this one was not a highlight; I wasn’t a huge fan of the sweet and sour sauce and felt the flavors were too simplistic overall. - Szechuan Style Mixed Seafood with Vegetable: this dish was just okay; the seafood was a little overcooked and tough in texture. Though you really can’t go wrong with most of the restaurants in Chicago Chinatown, Wentworth ranks highly for me with its flavorful, diverse, and traditional dishes; lively vibes/energy; and affordable prices. Our total was ~$19 per person. I did find the food to be a little too salty though; I was chugging water by the end.

Delicious food and large portions--had to get takeout boxes for most of our food. Bass was so tender!

First time visiting this dim sum spot and I'm glad I did. Located in the older part of Chicago Chinatown on Wentworth Ave. They will validate your parking ticket to be just $2 for 3 hours at the 2 parking lots off Wentworth in Chinatown. Serving up dim sum and Cantonese cuisine with lunch specials at $8 per plate. We ordered dim sum of chicken feet, beef chow fun noodles, tapioca fried ball, and rice roll. You won't find servers pushing the dim sum carts here, but the food was delicious. They also serve boba drinks, but I didn't try. A smaller place with old music videos of Cantonese singers playing in the background. Bonus points if you speak Cantonese, but not a must. I'll definitely return!

Been coming here for a few years and I'm always amazed at the customer service and the delicious food. Highly recommend this for your family to come enjoy some authentic food.

Yelp
This is a really nice dim sum place in Chinatown. We got a variety of dishes and all were good! I especially loved the taro cakes and pumpkin porridge. The taro cakes tasted fresh and like they were homemade. Very flavorful too. The pumpkin porridge was new to me. It's a really huge portion. It's nicely cooked with a mild taste of ginger. The xiao long baos (soup dumplings) were relatively okay/average. Not comparable to the best soup dumplings I had. Overall I would revisit this dim sum place if I'm craving them again.

Yelp
Always order dinner from here. Trying dim sum for lunch. It wasn't too busy but we got the last table for two. Only large tables were available I think they should stick to dinner. We didn't like the dim sum here. Not much taste and things were a bit cold. At least we tried it and can stick to our favorite places. We ordered a few usuals and tried a couple new things. The potsticker had a good amount of filling but it was cold. Yes pan fried and it came out cold. The preserved pork congee had no taste but came out with the fried dough you normally have to order extra. The Siu Mai's were small and didn't look appetizing. Then we ordered a chicken sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leave and when we opened it, it smelled spoiled. We returned it and they took it off the bill. And they didn't question us. They asked if we wanted to reorder and we said no. So we are sticking to dinner here only.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning and super thankful to be seated early. There was no wait! You order through a piece of paper selecting what you'd like to eat. Make sure to put what size you would like in the boxes or else they will automatically give you the largest size. The food was delicious but the service was another story. My party and I didn't get the best service. We'd ask for extra bowls and condiments, but it seemed like we were annoying the servers instead. Even when asking for the bill, it was hard to flag them down. When it came to leaving, the server saw that there was a low tip added to the bill and became unhappy. They cornered my one friend (three vs one people) and demanded more tip money. They didn't let her leave until they got her credit card to tip more money. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this was going on and thought she was using the restroom. This experience was quite fustrating/traumatizing so I will not be going here again. The food isn't that worth the customer service experience.

Yelp
Came for a weekday brunch for dim sum. The place was not busy but by the time we left it was pretty busy. We ordered from their menu, they have a pretty standard offering of items. There was 1 item the chive deep fried dumpling was the only one that was really different from other dim sum locations. We ordered a wide variety of dishes, the rice rolls with either spare ribs or beef tendon was pretty good, a decent portion size with lots of rice rolls. The standard shiu mai, hai gao were all pretty tasty and some of the shiu mai were quite large in size too. Overall a good decent choice for dim sum. They also have weekday lunch specials for $9.95/dish, we got a beef noodle dish, not a lot of beef in that.

Yelp
Portions are small. They use alot of green onions and onions in the entrees as fillers to make the portions look larger. They use little protein. Prices are high. Service is decent.

Yelp
Amazing prices for lunch boxes - the websites shows $7.95 but they have raised the cost to $9.95. They have many favorites such as Yang Zhou fried rice for under $10. Food is legit and they prepared the items quick (under 15 min). This place is usually very busy and I always get satisfactory ratings for any entree's I order. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went for dim sum and was pleased with what we got. There's a slight ramp walking in--although it feels narrow for a wheelchair, it's technically doable. We got a seat by the window, so it was nice and bright. The servers were attentive and helpful. What we got: Scallion pancake - This was surprisingly one of our favorite things we ordered! Nice layers and crispy. If you like the doughy, chewy kind, this one might not be for you. E-fu noodles - Super flavorful. I feel like it's hard to mess this up, but some places do. This is a very kid-friendly dish--noodles with sliced veggies and mushroom. Turnip cake (lo bok goh) - Flavor was great--maybe a little more seafoody than other places. Texture wasn't bad, but also not my favorite. This was light and tender but not as delicate as I like. It has some chunks of radish that are slightly tacky in texture instead of really smooth and silky. Still would order again because it tastes great. Rice crepe (cheung fun) - Another surprise! We got pork--my husband thought it was barbecue pork (char siu)--but it was just this tender, tasty marinated pork. The meat was juicy and not dry at all. Soup dumplings (xiao long bao) - Always a fun dish to order when a restaurant has it. These were pretty good! The broth wasn't fatty and the meat tasted good. The dough was a little thick but it's hard to get it all right. Our kids like this too. Chow fun - Such good flavor! Just wish it was crispier. Another kid-friendly dish! Shrimp dumpling (har gao) - This was ok. I think the outer wrap could be thinner and the shrimp could've been shrimpier. But a classic dim sum order that we just can't not get it. Pork dumpling (siu mai) - Also just ok for me--a little too much mushroom. But if you like mushroom, then maybe this will be excellent. Walnut bun - Wow! K best for last. This was our kid's pick, and boy was it the winner. Try this! And make sure to eat it while it's still warm. The inside is like this rich, nutty, not overly sweet, filling that's almost custardy. The bun itself was so soft and just a nice had a nice chew. 10/10 would order just this if I only wanted dessert. We also got this sampler dish with chicken feet, spare ribs and vegetables. It was not too greasy. I don't do chicken feet too much, but this was just ok. The sauce wasn't too spicy, but not my favorite either. Texture of it was good though. I think that's what people like about chicken feet?

Yelp
Overall, the dim sum was delicious and blew my taste buds out of the water despite that it doesn't look much in the inside, and complimentary tea was offered with dim sum free of charge. The dim sum order include siu mai, shrimp w/chives dumplings, hand pick onion (scallion) pancakes, hometown fried dumplings, and pork crepes with egg.

Yelp
This is definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Chicago! They have a wide array of dishes, and they do pretty well in being authentic. They have a slightly smaller space, but they have adequate round tables to seat larger parties and we were able to be seated pretty quickly despite it being packed. A lot of the dishes reminded me of my childhood growing up, and the seafood dishes are actually pretty quality. Definitely recommend the lobster noodles and the sweet and sour pork (bone-in of course). My Chinese parents who usually don't like eating out thought this place was pretty good as well so this place also gets the Asian immigrant parent approval as well!

Yelp
Just something so homey and authentic about this place. Definitely come with a group to do family style.

Yelp
I came here for dim sum and I am open to coming here again to try out some of their dinner menu. Quality- everything I had here is well cooked and fresh. I liked the siu mai, congee, and stir fried string beans the best here. Quantity- it is a bit in the pricier end for dim sum. I expected more congee and string beans. Atmosphere- nice clean restaurant with plenty of space. Service- it took a while to get our food.

Yelp
Dim Sum means a little bit of heart, and I think Wentworth Seafood House represents that well. This is one of our go-to places for casual dim sum dining and take-out. Menu has variety, everything is made with care and reasonably priced. We've consistently had great dim sum and warm service.

Yelp
Great spot in the heart of Chinatown. They do have lunch specials and a good size menu plus decent selection of boba tea. Staff was pleasant, tables were clean. Restaurant was busy during lunch time.

Yelp
I've never been to a dim sum place where they didn't automatically have soy sauce and chili oil on the table. None of the food needed the soy sauce but I wish they had chili oil. The food was super well seasoned and I enjoyed all of it. Normally I'm not a big fan of chicken feet or daikon but they cooked it soooo well. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. I would definitely come back. Soup dumplings were a big pass as no soup in them.

Yelp
Our favorite seafood Cantonese restaurant in Chicago. The waiters have decent English skills but of course the primary customer base is mandarin and Cantonese speakers. They offer dim sum on weekends and it's one of the best in the city. On their seafood menu we like to get the steamed egg with clams, the lobster noodles, and the soft shell crab. Market prices are pretty reasonable so we love getting banquet style seafood here!

Yelp
Our party of 4 returned here for a Friday lunch.  It's been 4.5 years since I was here, and I really didn't remember it, but they have a comfortable and airy space.  It was fairly busy at the time but service was quick and attentive. We had an 8 item lunch comprising of 6 dim sum items and a couple of entrees (a chicken feet and spare rib rice and a mixed mushroom rice noodle dish). Pricing is reasonable and quality is decent although the rice in the pot of rice was ordinary white rice and not flavorfully cooked clay pot rice.

Yelp
Wentworth Seafood House is an authentic Cantonese restaurant on the main drag in Chinatown. The place is relatively small when you think of the larger "palaces" that serve dim sum, but it seems to still accommodate quite a number of people. When full, smaller parties tend to be seated in the communal large round tables. And the place does get crowded during prime time. The food here is solid. We came to Wentworth Seafood for their dim sum lunch menu which is a bit limited, but they do serve the basic and more popular items. Their pork sui mai and shrimp har gow were very good. The crispy shrimp and chives dumpling is a different take to the typical steamed dumpling version. The pan fried turnip cakes were decent size. They also have lunch specials to choose on their menu. The beef chow fun was tasty. The only disappointment is their wonton noodle soup. The soup had no flavor and the entire dish was bland. Service was friendly and good and the food came out well paced, but possibly by accident. Wentworth Seafood House is a great alternative to the larger seafood restaurants for a well priced and casual place for dim sum and typical Cantonese food.

Yelp
Went to the Wentworth Seafood Restaurant and did not eat seafood. Not a large restaurant, width and depth of a single store front. Seating was comfortably spaced. Large traditional Cantonese menu. We didn't order any seafood. The non-seafood selections were plentiful. Sorry I have no menu photos and I can't identify the soup from the online menu. Serving the soup on the burner kept it hot. I think the soup was lamb based with tripe. The flavors of what we ordered were good Cantonese. If you haven't tried princess chicken this was a good one. Usually served cold with a ginger and onion sauce on the side. Rice cane the way I like it in a large bowl to split into individual bowls. Validated Parking is $2 north of Cermak less than one block away. This restaurant has good Cantonese food and I will definitely come back for either their dim sum or for seafood. Service was quick and attentive. Tea refilled quickly.

Yelp
Favorite were shrimp dumplings, siu mai and shrimp noodles. Everything else was okay. The round fried dumpling was made with chicken when it's typically made with pork so it was dry. Service was good but we got sat at a communal table since we came at a busy time which was okay but be aware that might happen. Overall decent dim sum for the price.

Yelp
Good quality food and -serving sizes - overall delicious. Also try Chicken Dumplings.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Chinatown with my family, dim sum is usually our first choice. It always reminded me of the dim sum house in Hong Kong and went with my parent on the weekend for breakfast. There is couple good option and this time tried out dim sum from Wentworth Seafood House. They just open up as we arrived and the place get filled up pretty fast. The food is decent and I like their claypot rice. I got the one with chicken feet and spare ribs.
google avatar

Brad K.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Chinatown. Everything we ordered was delicious - and I'm not the biggest seafood fan. The clams with vermicelli noodles in particular were surprisingly delicious. I'm also a big fan of pea shoots, they were wonderful as well. Steamed bass, salt and pepper shrimp, short ribs, chicken corn soup - all wonderful. I came with a large party - five adults and four young children. Like many places in Chinatown, they were able to fit a large number of tables in a tight configuration. You'll need to make certain children are able to stay clear of the walkways. It went smoothly, and we were able to have an enjoyable experience together.

Yelp
Great spot for seafood in Chinatown! Had a wonderful meal and great service. Would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
We ventured into this place during the Chinese New Year's prade and this place was packed like every other place in Chinatown, but the wait wasn't too bad. Everything was tasty and service was good. I enjoyed the free hot tea. Portions were good and menu heavier on seafood items as you would expect from their name.

Yelp
Great place to get a quick bite to eat. Everything was amazing from the food and the service. I always pass this place every time I'm in Chinatown. My to go place is always happy lamb but since I go there often I decided to try something new. We had the walnut shrimp, the steak beef with king mushrooms, the crab Rangoon, the salt and pepper squid and the magikarp milk tea. Everything was so delicious. We enjoyed every single dish. They have live seafood dishes, definitely will be back for those and other seafood dishes. The ambience is family friendly and they have tables for big parties. The service is amazing, they are very attentive and make sure you're well taking cared of. We will definitely be back to try other dishes, this place has become one of our favorites.

Shana D.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant based on yelp reviews. The place was packed which we thought it was a good sign. We ordered fish fillet and tofu casserole, young chow fried rice, and bok choy with garlic sauce. Everything was tasty but a bit too greasy. Fried rice was a little bit too salty. Overall food was good but compared to NY Chinatown this was a step down. Therefore I give it four stars.

Yelp
I have been to almost every restaurant that serves dim sum in the Chinatown area. Wentworth Seafood House has the cheapest prices and some of the best tasting items! My family and I came in on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast. The inside is not too big, but was packed with locals. We had to share a table with another party (just like how it's done in China!). They do make sure you are okay with that option before actually sitting you, so no worries hehe. We ordered 8 dishes for 4 people. We got the crispy chive dumplings, crispy shrimp rolls, Baiyun chicken feet, shrimp crepes, spare ribs over rice noodles, seafood pumpkin congee, and two orders of the grass jelly puddings for dessert. Everything came hot and pretty quick considering the amount of people they had. The best part of WSH is that their crepes are freshly made in house, unlike other dim sum places that serve reheated frozen crepes. My sister and I also got a large passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly. It was very refreshing and not too sweet. I highly recommend coming here for some quick dim sum eats. Beware of Thursdays though, because it is the only day of the week that they are closed!

Yelp
Legit Cantonese place. We were surrounded by other family and friends enjoying dim-sum. Pretty much all Cantonese spoken here. You know that quality of dim sum is good when your shrimp rice noodle roll (ha cheong) contains three huge deveined shrimp. not chopped up pieces. and the rice noodle is thin, just right. btw, the style isn't the "burrito", but the pushed to one side style. And yes Shu Mai and Har Gow are good too. And supplement with congee. you won't regret that.

Yelp
Wentworth Seafood House has recently and very quickly became one of our favorite recurring restaurants to order take-out from. So far we have tried items from their breakfast and lunch menus. For breakfast, we are fans of the shrimp crepe and pork and preserved egg congee. The crepe are silky thin and likely why they are so clingy and difficult to separate by the time we get home with the food. The congee is decently packed with ingredients and it comes with a small side of cut-up dough fritters. We have also tried the wonton noodle soup. The noodles were a bit overcooked and it came with bean sprouts instead of the usual lettuce. But to offset those, it actually came with six pieces of wontons when most restaurants only serve it with five pieces. For the lunch boxes at $7.95 each, we have tried the stew brisket with bean curd, fried fish filet with fried tofu, sizzling beef with black pepper sauce, mix mushroom with rice noodle, and Yang Zhou fried rice. The dishes are flavorful and the entrée portion size is standard with a lot of rice packed in there. I would normally split my lunch box into two lunches and even after that, I still had a lot of rice left over. Can't wait to try their dinner menu!

Yelp
We ordered the Lobster with soft noodle for takeout on Lunar New Year. It was amazing, and a great deal for $35 after tax! I called in to order, just to make sure they had it. I just told them "lobster with soft noodle" and they understood. They asked if I wanted one or two lobsters. For the two of us, one lobster was the perfect amount of food. To pick up, you just tell them your phone number. The lobster is prepared into easy to eat pieces and cooked in a ginger/scallion sauce. I love that the sauce is subtle, because it provides space to really taste the lobster. In addition, there's a sticky coating on the lobster, possibly from tapioca starch or sweet potato starch. This coating absorbs the flavor from the sauce, and is really fun to eat off the shell. This style of lobster reminds me of the type of lobster I've had before at a Chinese wedding. The noodles weren't anything extraordinary but they were great to eat with the lobster. There is plenty of street parking as well as a parking lot on Wentworth. They do sell boba here but there are also a lot of other boba shops to check out in the area. I highly recommend the lobster with soft noodle and will come back next time we get a craving for it!

Absolutely delicious!!! The food is great! The service is amazing! They're so attentive and kind! It's also such a cute place to eat it! Overall, it was a great experience and I'm glad to have gone while visiting Chicago. It was also very affordable :) Serving sizes are huge too!

Yelp
You know it's authentic Chinese when you step in and nobody gives a *amn about you! And I love it that way! I had dinner here twice two days apart. I really enjoyed their food, and service was actually quite good, once seated. Once I had their large fish fillet and I got amazed by how good it was. The space is not that big for the number of clients. Yet, it is not too squeezed. A great option for eating authentic (I think) Chinese food.

Yelp
I went for dim sum and everything I had was very good. I ordered the Xiao long bao, shrimp chive dumplings, crispy shrimp rolls, takoyaki, and the Chinese sausage rice. I enjoyed every stash although some were surprising. The Chinese sausage was not what I've had at other places but I did enjoy it very much. The shrimp chive dumplings were like a pair of crispy crepe with the shrimp filling in a pocket in the center, then stacked as 4 pairs on top of each other. Unfortunately I enjoyed the food so much I forgot to take pictures :(

Yelp
We ordered a different kinds of dim sum, all are delicious, especially the rice roll, one of the best around the area, and their prices are reasonable. Sure will come back again.

Yelp
Absolutely authentic delicious food. The atmosphere is typical for a restaurant in China (used to live there) and the prices are reasonable. The service was so-so: not very attentive but once we had our order in everything was delivered Chinese style- in the order the kitchen had it ready. Overall it was great and we highly recommend the green beans, the eggplant casserole and the Kung Pao shrimp based on our order. It was a real throw back for us.

Yelp
Took my adult daughter for crab for her birthday special treat. Everything was perfect. Very good service, nice atmosphere and delicious food. She was amazed at the Dungeness crab and I was thrilled with my lobster, which was prepared just the way I ordered it. We won't wait for another special occasion to go back.

Yelp
The food tasted okay but somewhat lacked wok hei, but was still appreciated. I reviewed it as 2 stars mainly because at that time I decided not to give too many tips according to my feelings of the environment and the time when having food (and also not so much service), but when I filled out the receipt, the waitress immediately came up and took it to check, after which she came back to point out that the amount of the tips was too little (not so polite). I stayed silent and refilled the receipt to the "appropriate" extent in her opinion. This experience existed in my brain for quite a while. I have to say this is the oddest thing that I've ever came across when exploring restaurants in the US. I know their work should be respected and appreciated, but I think I also have the right to act following my heart, and tell the truth. Thank you.

Yelp
We've tried a lot of dim sum restaurants in Chicago, and Wentworth is one of our favorites so far! They're located in the older part of Chinatown so they don't get a ton of traffic from tourists or people who aren't as familiar with the area, but they have a great variety of food and the service is very good. The turnip cake was my favorite, with a great dried shrimp flavor which is very authentic. The congee was my next favorite dish, and a great portion size for a very cheap price. I liked the shrimp dumplings and the spare ribs and chicken feet had pretty good flavor - enjoyable but not the best I've had. Overall it was a great meal and definitely less expensive than some of the other dim sum restaurants in Chinatown. If you're looking for a tasty and authentic meal, I'd recommend checking it out.

Yelp
This is the real thing, and every dish we had was fantastic. We were able to be seated quickly because we were willing (and happy) to join two other parties at one of the large community tables.

Yelp
Solid Cantonese spot in Chinatown! Walnut shrimp and pan fried noodles were very similar to what you'd find in Flushing NY. Place was a little busy but didn't wait for lunch. Definitely one of the better canto spots in Chicago!

Yelp
This place is a hidden treasure. I've been walking past it for years and finally decided to go in. It was sooo tasty! The mixed mushrooms over rice noodles is so craveable. I could easily eat a few plates of it. I ordered a bunch of dim sum too and each was fantastic. The Lychee bubble tea was also really good. Apparently you can get a gigantic crab, but you have to order it ahead. There was a table of like 8 people taking pics and stuff with theirs. The staff is friendly and patiently answered all my questions. The food is solid, and well priced. If you haven't tried it, stop passing it by! You'll be glad you are here!

Yelp
Fresh & Delicious Dishes every time I have eaten there. The prices are very reasonable compare to other restaurants in Chinatown. Service is always good & the servers are friendly. The ambiance is nice & comfortable.

Yelp
I really liked the food here! We also requested to have our dishes without onions and garlic and they did honor that request for every dish! It was relatively busy but the food came quickly and was very tasty. The menu is very easy to navigate with photos of their dishes along with the names. In addition, a small bowl of rice is provided per person as well. I would definitely recommend the king mushroom with egg tofu on vegetable (which the vegetable is baby bok choy).

Yelp
I liked that they pick up the call fast when I called to order. I was looking forwards to a good, whole crispy chicken with juicy meat inside. It was neither. The chicken was super dry and it did not taste crispy, just chewy. Also the lady asked if I wanted the head , I said no. When I got my order, it looked like a half chicken with the head. I also ordered the salt &pepper squid, walnut shrimp, & pea tip & egg tofu. The salt and pepper squid was also very chewy with no crispiness to it. The walnut and shrimp tasted good, but mostly had a lot of broccoli to it. The pea tip and egg tofu was good, they have the right amount of saltiness to the dishes. I have mixed feelings about ordering from here again, because of the price points and it isn't excellent tasting, although I heard the dimsum here is good. I may try that next time.

Yelp
Ordered fish fillets, Mongolia beef and egg tofu. Fish fillets and egg tofu tasted good. However Mongolia beef is a little tough. I guessed you should not ordered beef at seafood restaurants. Price is good. Service is quick and good.
