The Best Savannah, Georgia, Restaurants | Eater Carolinas

"Old-school and expanding Savannah intersect at West Broad Bandshell. In a storied building on MLK Boulevard, soul food and Korean street food come together on a well-planned and reasonably priced menu by Tanika and the Chef Catering. Tteokbokki (street-food-style Korean spicy rice cakes), shrimp and creamy grits, and slow-braised short ribs headline with the support of gluten-free onion rings, Korean corn dog bites, classic cocktails, and other delights." - Kiki Dy

Newest Restaurants to Check Out in Savannah, Georgia | Eater Carolinas

"514 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard has music and soul food again, with a South Korean spin. West Broad Bandshell opened for dinner and cocktail service last month. The menu draws from co-owner Tanika Lamar’s mixed heritage. Here, diners can enjoy uncommon combos like tteokbokki (street-food-style Korean spicy rice cakes) followed by old-school shrimp and creamy grits. Other standouts include the pork katsu sandwich and slow-braised short ribs." - Kiki Dy

We LOVED everything about our experience here. Angi took wonderful care of us, but the entire staff was so warm and welcoming - and the food was over-the-top exceptional! We tried the sweet and savory Korean corn dogs, the perfectly lightly hand-battered onion rings, the best housemade veggie burger (no bun), the made-me-feel-very Rich boy, and the ceasar salad topped with highly flavorful shrimp. Oh, AND the cornbread was smack-yo-mama GOOD, too! Can't wait to try the whole menu! BONUS: They also have parking!! We'll be back ASAP!!

Google
Wonderful experience! We came for a drink and fell into the temptations of dumplings! On a cousins trip and came looking for an outdoor patio and drinks. We each picked a different drink so we could try multiple. The cosmo is amazing too. Keegan and Michael both made this incredible. I highly recommend ordering the BBL. It's a blackberry ginger mint drink of bliss. Great atmosphere and service.

Came in to try some new food and was happy to find the place! The Chicken sando was awesome! Super crispy and flavorful. The bibimbap is tasty and kimchi salad as well. Brandon was a great attentive server and made an awesome cocktail as well the cocojito.

Today we had a spontaneous late lunch at West Broad Bandshell, and we’re so glad we did—it was absolutely worth our time. The restaurant is nestled in a beautifully restored historic building, which adds charm and character to the whole experience. The food 👀 Visibly stunning and even more delicious than it looks in the photos. Every bite was packed with flavor and creativity. You can tell there’s passion behind the menu. Tanika and her staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their energy made the experience even more memorable. If you're looking for a spot that blends soulful hospitality with bold, flavorful dishes, this is it. Highly recommend—this place deserves all the love!

Delicious! The pork belly on the Southern Seoul BLT was so tender, seasoned to perfection, & the fatty parts melted in my mouth. The sweet potato fries & dip are really as good as everyone says, & I enjoyed the kimchi Bloody Mary. Our server Angi took great care of us & you can tell she’s genuinely proud of the food she serves. We’ll definitely be back.

We went on a Tuesday which was not crowded at all. They had a live artist which was nice for the atmosphere. Baylee our waiter was not attentive at all. She would literally leave us as we were speaking to her about the options on the menu. We had to clarify and ask multiple times on our items, beverage, and a take away box. She did not mention the specials for the evening whatsoever but the bartender happened to stop by and mention them to us. The bartender was also thoughtful enough to mention for us to move away from the speakers before the music got started. The food was excellent, we got the Korean wings, shrimp and grits, and the chef pasta. All were flavorful and warm. However our appetizer was brought to us cold; we were hungry and did not mention it even though the server only had three tables and was not busy except for chatting. Overall I think this would have been a great experience if we had a different server.

Google
This place is a true gem. The incredible ambience with soft lighting and beautiful decor. The service was perfect; our server was attentive and had great recommendations. And the food was to die for. I took my mother here after our first Ghost Pirates game and it was so nice they are also open late. Don't let the lack of any bright "open" sign fool you as we almost drove by assuming that maybe the hours weren't updated on Google. So glad we didn't. They are open until midnight I think everyday except Sunday. Can't wait to come back!

Google
On a recent trip to Savannah, my daughter picked this place for dinner after seeing a TikTok video. IT. WAS. FANTASTIC. What a cool vibe! I dug the dim lighting, and the music mix was great and not at an overwhelming volume. I very much enjoyed the Korean style BBQ, but the absolute highlight was the cornbread appetizer. It's like the best cornbread in the world had a kid with the best pound cake in the world. Phenomenal.

Yelp
If you've been sleeping on West Broad Bandshell, consider this your wake-up call. This unassuming spot on MLK is, without exaggeration, one of the best places to eat in Savannah. The service is warm and welcoming, in that "you actually feel like family" way that's so rare to find. On my first visit, I ordered the Union Station Burger, and it immediately became one of the best burgers I've had in Savannah (and I've tried plenty). My colleagues were equally impressed: one had the Shrimp & Grits and raved about it, while another demolished the Rich Boy shrimp po'boy like it was her last meal on earth. We all left talking about how soon we'd be back. Less than a week later, I returned with my sister for a Sunday appetizer spread, and this is where Bandshell really shined. Here's what we ordered: * Lil' Romi's Famous Corn Bread Cake - This cornbread was unreal. I don't even like cornbread, yet I've dreamed about it every night since. Sweet, buttery, and perfectly crisped on the edges, it's worth the trip alone. * Korean Corndog Bites - Mini Korean-style corn dogs with a gooey mozzarella center, coated in crispy golden panko and dusted with sugar. Crispy, cheesy, and everything I hoped for. * Sweet Potato Fries - Simple but executed perfectly; hot, crispy, and comforting. * Loaded Jazz Fries - The star of the show. Sidewinder fries topped with bulgogi beef, cheese, scallions, bacon, aioli, and ranch. While eating them, I thought: "this might be the best thing I've ever put in my mouth." Then, in a surreal moment, another customer walked in, pointed at them, and said they had come back just for those fries. That says it all. * Hand Cut Onion Rings - Just onion rings on paper, but these were absolutely divine. Thick-cut, golden, and perfectly fried, with a house-made sauce that made them irresistible. * House Dumplings - Crispy and flavorful with pork, scallions, and ginger. Good overall, but if you have to skip one dish, this would be it. Everything else is just on another level. * Nappa Kimchi Crunch Salad - My sister ordered this one, and it was fresh, crunchy, and layered with flavor thanks to the sesame-lime vinaigrette and vegan kimchi. She ate every bite. Every single dish impressed, but the real magic of West Broad Bandshell is how they balance creativity and comfort. Their mix of Korean-inspired soul food is genius, and they execute it with care, flavor, and flair. If I could give them six stars, I would. Just go. I promise you'll thank me later.

Yelp
My friend and I got food delivered while in town. I got the pork katsu and fries, and my friend got the shrimp and grits. We got the TTEOK to start. The delivery guy was at the restaurant for a long time waiting for the order. He said they had to remake one of the entrees but he didn't know why exactly. Something about the shrimp? Anyway, it wasn't hard to tell which entree was the one they had to remake because the other entree was cold, as was the app. So the shrimp and grits came hot and fresh, and delicious. The TTEOK app, the pork katsu and the fries were all cold. They might have been good when they were hot and fresh, but none of it was very appetizing cold. So, instead of making both entrees over so that neither of us had a bad experience they only remade the one and the other food was left to sit and get cold. Not impressed. This is a rookie mistake.

Yelp
We were greeted and seated upon entry! The restaurant gives you an old tavern feel! The food is made to order! We ordered the Hand-cut onion rings, Crispy Sweet Chili and the Calamari! The food came out quickly! It was fresh tasty! I enjoyed the crispy wings the most! Two of our party liked the wings so much they ordered wings for their entrees. I ordered the Green Line Bibimbap Bowl with Bulgogi Beef! My egg was a bit overcooked but my server ordered me another egg over easy and brought it out. The tofu was crispy. I enjoyed the bowl! All the components worked well together I personally wanted some yum yum sauce or sriracha mayo to bring it all together. My friend had the Shrimp and Grits and it was so good! The grits were creamy, the jumbo shrimp were cooked to perfection & the dish was cheesy! I plan to order that on my next visit! .

Yelp
Okay this is definitely a hidden gem in Savannah. It's the perfect fusion of Asian and soul food. We ordered the dumplings (perfectly crispy), the shrimp po boy (with Asian twist it was INCREDIBLE), and the stir fry. All the food was so tasty! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Only complaint is the restaurant is small and the service was a little slow, but I think they are new and working through kinks!

Yelp
This is an easy walk from home and one of our favorite lunch spots because they don't mind if we sit and play cards! The food is delicious, they are in our regular rotation of restaurants we frequent . Our server, Angie, has waited on us almost every time and she is a great server- polite and professional. The menu is so fresh and delicious make this a stop if you want some really good food!

Yelp
Very nice place with good atmosphere, excellent staff and good vibes. Bar is excellent with lots of specialty options, and menu, while not extensive, has a wide array of options for every taste. I had the ribeye which was good but my date had the salmon which looked and tasted better. Calamari starter was excellent. This restaurant has live music on Tuesdays and comedy on Thurs (I think). Will be a great venue to see future jazz acts. Looking forward to returning.

Yelp
Tried this restaurant for the first time, walked in and was immediately impressed with the vibe and setting. It's got awesome lighting, unique designs with the setup and it immediately relaxes you. They had several drink options including mocktails and some lower ABV options so plenty of variety was available. We had 7:30 reservations but a table wasn't ready so the host offered us to sit at the bar until one was ready, perfectly fine with us. The bartender was awesome and he took care of us, after about 20 minutes we still weren't sat and the place was busy but not packed as there were tables free and again, we had reservations. The bartender asked us if we wanted to order food and we told him we were waiting for a table and when he realized we had reservations he went and followed up with the host and sat us immediately. Now we're at a table we have our menus and drinks our bartender brought over to us. There was another waiting period of about 20 minutes again, servers walked by but none stopped by our table until we asked one of the staff members if we could have a server. Once they realized we hadn't spoken to anyone it was corrected immediately. Look we had nowhere to be so again this isn't a huge problem but they did seem either understaffed or slightly disorganized, I'm leaning towards understaffed. Now we were finally able to order and honestly, this food was so good all prior sins were forgiven. They brought us some cornbread cakes on the house, im not a huge cornbread fan but these were incredible, my fiancee loved them, we dug in before getting a photo lol. We started with the Loaded Jazz Fries which are sidewinder fries with Bulgogi beef, cheese, ranch and an aioli sauce, these were incredible, crispy fries, delicious beef and the cheesy enough and it was a huge portion that could've been a meal itself. I wanted to order the braised short rib but unfortunately they had just run out, my backup order was gonna be the pasta with steak but they were also out of steak, so I went with grilled chicken pasta. I wanted to note that once we ordered the food came quickly and was hot, my fiancée ordered the KTX fried chicken which was Korean fried chicken with mac and cheese and collard greens, they tell you it takes 20 minutes for it which is fine I mean, it's fried chicken so it should, and I want to reiterate it came to the table perfectly hot and it's all huge portions of food. The pasta was solid, I would probably order something else next time but it's not because the pasta wasn't good they just have so many other options I'd like to try. For dessert we had molten lava cake with ice cream, another delicious choice. All in all it's not a perfect place but the issues we had were ultimately minor and were corrected when we brought them to the attention of the staff. There might be a slight wait to be seated even with reservations but the bar is a good option and truthfully the food is worth it. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later.

Yelp
I have been several times to west broad bandshell and it never disappoints. The service is always friendly and fast. The food is served hot and has great portions. You can tell they really take pride in what they do. On Tuesday nights there's live music. Justin St.Claire is a great entertainer. If you haven't been, you are missing out!!

Yelp
Service was prompt, direct and friendly. Lunch/brunch menu at 2 pm Saturday. Full bar. Hands down best bloody I've ever had, "you wouldn't believe me if I told you" was the answer given from the maker. Incredible take on a southern creol brunch.

Yelp
Could have been so much better if the steak plate was just hot. Otherwise the glaze on the steak was very tasty but wasn't pleasant to be eating it cold. The pasta Alfredo sauce with shrimp was also tasty but a huge bowl of pasta and only 5 shrimp. Service wise, we were arranged to order but after receiving our meals could t find our server for ages to get a knife. The complementary cornbread is delicious. We were there on the 1st Friday of the month but no music. I think the place has probably lost its luster since the early reviews.

Yelp
Best wings in the City! And they have late hours, this is one of my new favorite spots!

Yelp
This is exact what Savannah needed. We really enjoyed our dinner here. They just opened up earlier this week and the food is perfect. No kinks to work out there. We tried the KTX chicken which was crispy, crunchy deliciousness especially with the sweet and not too spicy sauce. We tried collards, green beans, Mac and cheese and succotash sides. My favorite was the succotash- they put a Korean twist on the flavors and it was so yummy! My husband enjoyed his tender galbi dish served over mashed potatoes with daikon and carrots. We can't wait to come back again and again! Great friendly service too! Owners were really nice.

Yelp
100000000% recommend! The staff, the atmosphere, the food. So impressed! Every bite was full or flavor. The drinks were also delicious. We ate every bite. Each dish had its own flavor palette yet they all blended very well. I will forever recommend them to anyone wanting to try somewhere new!

Yelp
Stopped in here visiting from Iowa on a complete random stumble! Met the owners right away and they were super conversational and welcoming. Regrettably, We had just eaten lunch before walking in but they shared some phenomenal grits. Being a bourbon and gin fan they talked us through different options and even let us sample some. No doubt this place is being operated by some fantastic people. The food I saw coming out looked amazing too. GO HERE AND SUPPORT THESE LOCAL PEEPS!!!

Yelp
My girlfriend was recommended this place and we went to try it out. The food was amazing. I had the Union Station and my girlfriend had the Green Line Bibimbap Bowl and we both were silent the whole meal since we were so engrossed in the food. Our waitress was also really nice, and she would always get us just what we needed without us even having to ask. The vibes were great as well with good lighting and music. They also happened to have a Trivia night going on which we learned happens every Wednesday at 7:00. We really enjoyed this, and even though we lost, they still gave us a free Blueberry Cobbler just for playing! We had a great evening and will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Huge improvement from the previous establishment. Great food, drinks, atmosphere. People that actually know what they are doing and how to run a hospitality buisness.

Yelp
Awesome food and great entertainment. Me and some friend went for the trivia night. I got the shrimp and grits and cannot recommend them enough. Service is great as well. We go back regularly for the food and trivia!

Yelp
Saw some great reviews and decided to give West Broad Bandshell a try. It exceeded all expectations! The hostess was warm and enviting, the bartender knowledgeable and engaging, the owner friendly and hardworking, and the food was incredible!! It was hard to decide with so many unique and flavorful options but we landed on hand cut onion rings (they were out of Korean Corndog bites and based on the look of them I could see why, we will definitely be returning to try), The Rich Boy, and Chef Romie's Pasta. Everything was as delicious as it sounds, great portions, and reasonably priced as far as good food in Savannah goes. We will definitely be back to try more and would HIGHLY recommend!

Ashley J.

Yelp
The service, food and atmosphere was great! I have no complaints! Thursday is comedy night. The show was entertaining. Good vibes all around.

Yelp
What went well? Everything. When did these guys pop up??! Incredible food, fast and friendly service, a fantastic atmosphere and a super convenient location. The cornbread cake they have is to DIE for. It's SOOOO good. If you're a soul food lover don't sleep on their green beans as a side The Korean inspired flavors really elevate this spot. Definitely one of our new favorites! Gonna be a regular spot, get in here before this place gets crazy popular and packed!!

Yelp
We arrived on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. There were quite a few tables open so it didn't seem very busy. We had a booth with 4 patrons. Unfortunately, No one came to our table, so after about10-12, minutes we mentioned that to the hostess. She was very kind, apologetic, and said someone will be right over and she brought us some water. She added that they will provide us complimentary bread for the wait. Meanwhile several other people who arrived after us were seated and attended to by a server. The place isn't that big so it wasn't like they couldn't see where we were. We even saw the hostess mention to servers that we'd been waiting. We continued to patiently wait, sipped on the water the hostess provided us, still, no one came over. After 20 minutes of waiting, we decided to give them almost 10 more minutes for someone, anyone, to come to our table before we left. And nothing. No one still came to our table. So we decided to leave after about 30 minutes of no service. None of us had been there before, and we were excited to try it because we had heard good things about the food, but all four of us were extremely disappointed with the lack of service or even acknowledgement. Usually a server will come over and apologize for the wait and tell you they will be there shortly, that they are slammed or something, which we would have accepted; but, no server did even that, and it was really disappointing. Hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else eager to try this place.

Lissy I.

Yelp
Our lunch here was delicious!! I had the bimbimbap salad with tofu and my mom had the crispy Napa-- both so good! Friendly staff, quick service, and great ambience.

Yelp
The food is amazing and bartenders. We enjoyed wings, salmon burger, and an old fashion from the bar. It was DELICIOUS

Yelp
Me and my sister arrived on a Saturday at 8:30PM, after making reservations several days in advance. Unfortunately, before we were seated, we were told that the kitchen was held up for 45 minutes and they will call us on the phone when its ready. We asked if we could just wait, then we were told that they won't be able to seat us because they had an unexpected number of people that walked in earlier. So apparently they ran out of food.... Or something. We don't know... It's a very tiny restaurant, they even have chairs up against the windows so people can eat at the windowsill. They seem to be popular, based on reviews so maybe they should consider taking reservations only so they won't have to kick people out that made reservations days in advance. It was disappointing and it felt awkward to say the least. They could of at least offered us a complimentary drink at the bar and then told us the bad news.

Laura B.

Yelp
Great food & vibes! We enjoyed Sunday dinner and our drinks were so good. Jocelyn was a terrific server.

Alyssa B.

Yelp
The food here was amazing! I've never had soul food before, and this was a great place to try it out, especially with the added hint of Korean flavors. It had a great vibe, it was slow while we were there, but if it was busy, I imagine it would feel like a cool jazzy club or something!

Susan M.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. The food is fresh, expertly prepared and simply wonderful both in preparation and presentation. The chicken was amazing! The owners are on site, friendly and engaging. Our server was well versed on the menu and appropriately attentive. Easy street parking. Sometimes there is live music. The ambience is casual and welcoming.

Millia J.

Yelp
This little gem has fire food and drinks. Great spot for families, couples and solo folks. Food is seasoned and a good menu variety.

Yelp

Yelp
This place is gorgeous, real and delicious! Had an amazing time there and can't wait to go back for their Sunday Supper!!

Yelp
I'm hesitant to leave this review because I want to keep this place a secret. Food was outstanding, cocktails perfect and the live entertainment out of this world! Brandon, our bartender was fabulous and Michael the owner was so welcoming and sweet. Highly recommend!

Ashley S.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks!!!! Brandon at the bar is an amazing asset do not let him go!!! So worth the visit they will never disappoint!!!

Yelp
I refuse to go back, the owner is so proud of the atmosphere. Their food sucks and i wont be going back after hearing a rumor they stole this place from the previous owners.
