West End Hotel

Arthur is the property manager and he is very kind and understanding and professional. I have enjoyed renting here when I’m in a pinch because of him!! This place is a temporary living space so you must expect that it’s not a 5 star hotel but it is pretty good for the price. You can pay weekly and you have a private room and a decent bathroom that is shared in the halls. They keep the place clean and they spray for bugs often. Great location, pretty clean and awesome management. It’s LA so there’s gonna be interesting people in and out of the space, but overall it’s convenient and safe.

Great hotel ; very affordable. Arthur is a great manager and the rooms are very clean and shower and it’s a safe area. I would recommend this ! I’ve stayed here off and on and have always had a great experience.

DO NOT LISTEN TO Jim Krisvoy. He was NOT living at this motel in 2018, so he would NOT know anything about which managers managed this motel and which ones didn't. They (David & Louise) used to rip off their tenants by forcing us to tell them our credit scores. When a guest is staying at a hotel or a motel, it is not based on their credit score at all. That was David & Louise's way of picking off who should be paying an extra $200 a month, and who shouldn't. Every time that they make you change your name at that motel, that name then has to reserve that room for longer than 30 days in order to have a tax-free stay for the rest of the time after the 30 days. It was a scam!!! I am glad to know that this Motel has improved and has gotten rid of those two managers.

RUN!!!! This place is a nightmare! Biggest mistake I ever made, the owners and management will lie to you and make you pay illegal taxes that legally had to all be paid back after the first 30 days, but they fraudulently misrepresented that they were a hotel and kept charging multiple tenants these fees and illegal $200 fees with no receipts and then when you demand your money back will file invalid eviction papers. The Housing Dept and City Attorney have also responded to this situation and are investigating. However, they clearly aren’t aware of Wrongful Eviction lawsuits that make them all personally liable! There is lead paint, (paint chipping off the walls) roaches, no air conditioning, no heat and the building is just not kept up. And why would anybody want to be harassed? Imagine you’re living in a building and the first incident the manager tells you that he “accidentally” ended up on your Facebook and found your modeling pics, then he starts asking for you to show him more pics, and then you find out the psycho building manager Arthur Chang has run around asking tenants if they are sleeping with you? You could not creep me out more than this guy did -like what a psycho! I woke up to text messages about this from a tenant who stated Arthur was running around asking tenants where I was, and looking over his shoulder trying to see who he was texting, and then asks him if he was “doing” me and I was livid! Disgusting trash human!My lawyer almost fell over when I was showing him the videos of the owners wife Anita Tabaroki and this building manager threatening me to give them $200 with NO receipt….. So will update once they are served on the WRONGFUL EVICTION suit!!!!

If you have to be anywhere near Culver City, including Sony Theatres, this place is right there. Prices are below what you will pay anywhere else in the area. Manager is a Lady, the Mom of the gentleman you will usually find working the front desk. They live on site which has obvious benefits. Nice guy. He likes to bike, so if you want to get on his good side, invite him to a ride! Certainly a place to consider if you need to stay for more than a night or two. They have weekly and even monthly rates. Parking can be a problem. There are parking garages nearby. Lots of things to do re restaurants, movie theater, even a Trader Joes within walking distance.

When I was living here, David and Louise both manage this place. They were clearly ripping me off every month, as my stay with the monthly. They told me that I could not get a hotel room if I did not have great credit, so I filled out the form. Then, they told me, after 30 days, I would not be able to stay there, because my credit was bad. When has credit ever had anything to do with a security deposit for a hotel? Then, David told me that I needed to change my name on the hotel room every 30 days that way I can stay there despite my bad credit. What he was really doing is making sure that every 30 days of different person was listed under the room, so he can charge me the taxes. The taxes range between $150 to $200, and he will pocket this for himself. Anyone who has worked at a hotel in Los Angeles knows that after 30 days of living there, your state becomes tax free. By changing my name every month, he prevented me from receiving my tax free credit. And that is not the worst thing that they have done to me there. It's just that this stuff has happened so long ago, I am choosing to try and let it go. If you're looking for a place to stay on a short-term basis, I would recommend this place. However, the longer you stay here, the longer you read the David and Louise trying to run a scam on you.

The location of the West End is fantastic, near convient stores like 711, restaurants, cool boba drink spots I would go to often with friends. The place was remodeled recently so it's nice and clean also there was a nice cleaning lady working there everyday so she kept things neat. Rooms had tv too

The West End is undergoing a number of scatter shot technical & aesthetic fixes & wouldn't recommend moving in until sometime early next year...maybe February...but based on how this has dragged out..probably later. Also..this is located on Sawtelle Blvd Blvd in West L.A. The rip off managers mentioned below must be at different location..because they have never been here. Sounds like a dump with very bad management.

A hidden gem tucked away in a great location. The old exterior gives it character while the black and white tile on the inside shines with cleanliness. It's chic and the history combines with the beautiful interior to create a 5 start hotel.

I was this place best customer off and on for 6 months in 2024. All I did was go to work. Which I chose the place because it was near my job. I stayed in multiple rooms in that span. You use the bathroom and shower behind others who are not clean. Never complained about no heat or a/c. I bought my own devices to keep warm & cool. My own food and cleaning supplies. The lady does a great job with cleaning but on the weekends she's not there so I would clean the bathroom i chose. The area is filled with addicts and homeless in which the community is use to it so it wasn't any complaints. Also has roaches & bed bugs. They do try to minimize I've seen people come spray but keep in that in mind.For some reason I was unable to rent. I became all the way homeless then. I didn't understand how a bad credit score disbars you for renting a weekly. This is not an apartment.you have all signs inside you still running illegal procedures to rent to people judging a credit score. The management "I will not say the name" WOULD NOT GIVE A REASON. Was it because I'm a black individual that's was around a lot that worked everyday that looked out for the place that had bad credit score. The only thing I did wrong was smoke Marijuna (which is legal) After months of not being there I did something for payback. I broke in and slept there. The 2nd time I was caught but I didn't care. I wanted the police to know my story. Everyone to know the story. It's not a good place. But it is if you only have this place. Price a bit lower for a week than a hotel on this side of town. For as long as this place been around; it should be better. I've worked in the area 20+ years/ I know more than the manager think I know. With that same credit score the manager denied me to rent a weekly; I end up getting an apartment and car With the same credit score and same income. The same fucking day he said I couldn't stay anymore.An apartment and car. This was a weekly I got denied on.

Stayed here for a few weeks. The manager Arthur and the staff were professional. The building was clean and orderly. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and good service.

As a 20-something single female, this spot is NOT ideal. The Assistant manger boasted about how "safe" it was because there are "strong men" in the building. He tried to reassure me by saying there were women my age in the building but never had I seen any, unless "my age" is middle age with no makeup and a a look of exhaustion then yea! The communal bathrooms are horribly kept, toilets are either not working or just left in disgusting condition. Having to walk/run down the hall to pee in the middle of night seeing a HALF NAKED MAN's door open to his cluttered smoked filled room is creepy enough. Their security cameras were turn DIRECTLY to my door! Management would notice when I brought someone home or even when I wasn't home! Housekeeping does half done job, the room I stayed in was one of many NOT RENOVATED rooms and still has stained blue carpet yet they charge $299! The drunk and unmedicated veterans from the VA posted on the corner offer a unsafe vibe ( I've been followed)unwelcome comments and police sirens all hours of the night! They only a second star because when I got out of an abusive relationship I could only afford this weekly spot, and granted it's in a shit corner of west LA ,everything else that surrounds it is 5 stars. Japantown,Westwood,UCLA,the Big Blue Bus, and the tennis courts ! Honestly Ladies, PLEASE stay clear for your own safety!

I was falsely 5150'd at this hotel after paying for an extra day there. I'm a graduate from UCLA. My neighbors were noisy. The exterminator was there. I want to sue.

I am currently staying at the West End Hotel located at 1538 Sawtelle Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90025. I have been a resident for several months. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I have had a number of my personal belongings stolen from my room (shoes, expensive purses, etc.). If that was not enough, I have found gigantic roaches in my room and there is a stench that constantly permeates the building. The area around the hotel is full homeless people. This hotel charges exorbitant weekly payments which, given my experience, is a rip off. If you value your belongings and your safety, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

This place is horrible. My stay included *WARNING* bedbugs and assorted incests of the roach variety. Not even close to being a good place to stay.

My first visit to Los Angeles and extremely happy with our choice of hotels. I was worried about safety and walking the city however this area made me feel safe and I never worried even out walking by myself. The staff are friendly and helpful always greeting you with a smile. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable we had a view of Lake Michigan.

Hey, so this place is really nice and in a great location in West LA near UCLA, Westwood, and all that good stuff. While I was there, I loved the Lobby and cozy rooms. Nice, clean, and in a walkable area...

Don't waste your time here. Even for the b.s. advertised price of $210 a week. I stayed here 2 weeks, got bit by bed bugs every night. I had to pay key deposit and some weird tax so week 1 I paid 279, then he said I have to pay the tax for 3 weeks until you're considered a "resident", then you pay $210/Week. Week 2 I paid @239 only for him to decide he no longer wanted to rent the room to me. How ironic I got kicked out before being able to get the rate they initially advertised. What a bunch of thieves. Another friend at the hotel says scott charges them an additional $100 because the GF is pregnant. Imagine charging $100 for an unborn child to be at the hotel????? Be aware that the maid and manager scott like to help themselves into your room when you are not around. I locked both locks when I left, and one day I came home and the top lock was unlocked. Never again......take your money to Hollywood hotels. At least you wont deal with bums and extra sketch people right outside everyday.
