9 Best Irish Pubs in Savannah, Georgia | Eater Carolinas

"Filling the gap left by the closing of Kevin Barry’s Irish Pub, this new superpub in City Market honors Savannah’s strong ties to Ireland’s Wexford County through immigration. Designed by the Irish Pub Company with much input from Dr. Howard Keeley, director of Georgia Southern University’s Center for Irish Research and Teaching, the pub’s multimillion-dollar buildout sourced not only its namesake inspiration but much of the millwork, furniture, and artifacts that fill its 13,000-plus square feet. Behind the bar is a wide selection of Irish whiskey, while the upstairs level boasts live music, a small library of books by Irish authors, and mirror portraits depicting some of Savannah’s most famous residents of Irish descent, including the Southern gothic writer Flannery O’Connor. The menu further nods to the Emerald Isle with dishes like fish and chips, Atlantic salmon, and its three-day house-brined corned beef and cabbage served with soda bread and butter." - Colleen McNally Arnett

15 Best Warm and Cozy Restaurants in Savannah | Eater Carolinas

"On the Ellis Square side of City Market, this two-story super pub honors Savannah’s historic connection to Ireland’s Wexford County through immigration. Find a nook by a fireplace or the upstairs music room and nosh on a round of whiskey-glazed “shots” — lightly fried bites of chicken or cauliflower tossed in a honey whiskey — or the Emerald Isle cobb salad for lighter fare without sacrificing flavor." - Colleen McNally Arnett

So glad we stopped here. Read their historical story re: interior. The food was absolutely spot on and delish. Fish 'n Chips, apps, and Shepherds Pie-so yummy! Daniel, our server, was outstanding! We appreciated that he checked on us several times to make sure everything was okay. The decor from main dining to the bathroom was tasteful and a delight. Check them out if you're in town.

Google
Great recommendation! Excellent food. We all shared and loved everything we had. Clearly our table's favorite was the pretzel and corn beef and cabbage. But, all the plates were great. Enjoyed the live music upstairs.

Google
Fun atmosphere and AMAZING FOOD! Being able to choose between indoor and outdoor seating was also nice and they had live music on the street outside. The giant pretzel the best we've ever had. The corned beef and cabbage also amazing. Great customer service as well.

We met up with some friends, and only two out of seven of us had been there before. We had a great experience with Grace as our server and we sat upstairs, and had a pleasant surprise to find live music! We were hungry so we forgot to take pictures of our appetizers, but they were delicious! Pigs in a blanket, the Celtic Knot and the Whiskey Glazed Shots. Everyone was VERY happy with their dinner and one even had room for dessert! Well done Wexford! Can't wait to come back!

We had a really good time sitting out on the patio with our dogs. Our puppy said hi to everyone who walked by (and there were a lot of people!) They have a big menu with lots of options, especially for sharing. We got the berries and brie and a plate of their plain chips (which were less crispy than typical American fries and had a deep potato flavor). I got the tomato bisque and grilled cheese sandwich (which I asked for and got without the bacon on it) and I… did not enjoy it. I prefer smoother tomato soups with more tomato flavor and didn’t like the Gouda on the sandwich. However, my mom said the Cobb salad was the best she’d ever had, and all the appetizers were very good.

Google
First, we got a giant pretzel that was delicious. The 2 of us hardly put a dent in it. I got a salad and irish soda bread, and my husband got some sliders with fries. I also got a peach sangria that was excellent. It was a really nice place. We ate upstairs and it seemed that all the tables were tall, barstools height which I don't love but it was fine. Service was excellent, bathroom was clean, food was delicious.

Took a quick trip to Savannah. With so many restaurants in a popular city like this I always want to make good dining choices. Eating at the Wexford Irish Pub was a bullseye. My wife had the fish and chips. Great. Not so traditional compared to what I know (British). The crust was crunchy and crisp. Great. And the fries were amazing. Home cut. I had the Guinness Braised Pot Roast…the best I have EVER had. Came with little peppers (see photo) that were so good and unique. With all these food choices in Savannah it will pay to consider Wexford. And if you’re lucky, you may get Ashley, our server. So friendly…added greatly to the experience.

Google
This was a good place to eat with better than average food. I shared the chicken wings with my husband. They were good but nothing to write home about. I very much enjoyed the crispy Brussel sprouts. The best thing I ate there. My husband ordered a side of coleslaw and said it was good. There was a singer/musician out front playing for those eating Al fresco which we did.

Yelp
The food is fantastic! We sat upstairs by the bar. The bloody Marries are good, burger was fantastic and my wifes fish and chips were the best she has had to date. We are vacationing in HH and going there for lunch tomorrow.

Yelp
Service was outstanding, and their Guiness Pot Roast hit the spot! Check out Open Table if the reservations look full, and you'll likely find a spot.

Yelp
Best Irish bar you will find this side of the Atlantic. First the place itself is spacious and interesting. Several bars make it easy to get a libation and there is frequently live music. Food is fantastic. The Wexford is such a fine addition to the City Market - and a must visit. Have a Guinness!

Yelp
Absolutely will be going back to try more of their dishes, and 10/10 recommend trying if you are looking for a solid meal and great drinks. I Ordered the Pot roast sandwhich, it was so amazing. The bread it comes on is pretty dry but you are given Auju to dip it in, which helps with the dryness and pairs wonderfully with the slow cooked beef. Definitely ask for the house made spicy mustard to dip your fries in! The drinks are pretty decent sized and tasted great. I ordered a Garden G&T and it was a great balance of sweet and floral. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food, the tradition Ruben (something I will get next time), the chicken sandwich, cob salad, and fried battered veggies with sweet sauce. The inside is a tradition pub setting, obviously made with a lot of thought and devotion. Our server was patient as we stayed talking at our table for a bit after our meal, and made sure to check that everything came out correctly, as well as reminded us we could take our unfinished drinks in to go cups as we left! Definitely check it out

Yelp
First off, great Irish pub feel, decor is perfect. Nice menu, about twenty items I would like to try but I live in Detroit. I got the sliders because that's my mood. Now the bartender, Ryan, what a pro. Not a tap jockey that can make a margarita, he is a professional bartender, trust me, I know what that looks like. He could have tended bar in the 1920's. Totally on his game. What a pro, this guy could have served Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and they would praise him. I love watching pros at their craft.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice atmosphere but crowded and noisy. The food was OK but the salad was really lacking protein. But the others in my party enjoyed the food. The server was great she went beyond to give us good service.

Yelp
This traditional Irish pub in the heart of Savannah's historic market district is the perfect stopping point on a hot, busy day. There's an air conditioned inside to escape the heat- but we found the covered outdoor dining area to be perfect for people watching. We kept it simple for lunch, and shared a table full of apps. A delicious, flaky crabcake, an incredible whipped goat cheese dip served with pita chips and veggies, fish batons which were basically fish sticks, and pub chips- fries with beer cheese, bacon and green onions. Priced decently and perfectly located right next door to the Prohibition Museum, this is the perfect lunch spot!
google avatar

Yelp
A huge, sprawling Irish pub with multiple bars, dark interior, lots of Irish colors. Great vibe for sure. Took a while for me to be greeted, but after that, server kept close tabs, and another server even helped her to make sure my water stayed filled on this very hot day. I got the lunch special, pigs in blanket, salad, and fries. I wish this place served traditional pub fries or "chips," but these were okay. I also got the pretzel, which is HUGE, and could feed three or four people. I dipped both dishes in the spicy mustard (which is not that spicy) and the cheese dip. Both dishes were salty and hit the spot on a sweltering day. Typical Irish fare: fish and chips, burgers, lab sliders, pot roast, various types of Reubens, shepherd's pie, chicken pub pie, various soups and salads. Their city smash, made with strawberries and basil was delicious and I got a round two in a to go cup. Located at city market, it would be super easy to stop by here for a great meal then peruse the shops and art galleries or stop by the Prohibition Museum.

Yelp
The server Alicia is amazing! She's bright and bubbly and great with conversation and recommendation. The bar is loud but it's an Irish Pub and certainly delivers with drunk middle aged men...that said it was a nice spot that was well appointed with decor. The food was hot and good and portions were huge.

Yelp
Visiting the area for the area for the first time and if you're in the area - you know there are a ton of options. Today we decided on a Irish Pub. A really nice-looking place. Inside and out. Although we didn't partake looked like a full stocked bar. We decided on water and sweet tea. As for our meal: Wifey had her favorite, Shepherds Pie. Trust me she's an expert - LOL. She tells me, it was good. But nothing special. It was FULL of meat but lacked a bunch of flavor that she expected. The size was very fully but again (get this) maybe too full with meat. Me, I had the fish and chips. Fish was nicely battered and the fries were very good. The fish portion was decent, but I could of used a little bit more fries with the meal. Lastly, our server did a very good job. He was attentive and checked on us several times during our stay. So I would eat here again, but I do think the wifey might went with something else. So enjoy you meal.

Yelp
This was a first time visit to the Wexford. We were seated rather quickly on a Saturday evening as reservations were made online. We were seated on the second level of the restaurant, right next to the musicians stage. The live entertainment began just 15 minutes after our arrival, and we found it to be a delightful addition to our dining experience. Our appetizer of Whiskey Glazed Chicken shots arrived within about 10 minutes. They were tasty and heightened our expectations for the main courses. The main courses we ordered were outstanding. The Guinness Pot Roast, served with vegetables, was rich in flavor and required no additional seasoning. It also came with a delicious serving of soda bread. The Wexford Farmhouse Salad was impressively generous in portion size and tasted fantastic. We opted to add salmon, and it was cooked to perfection. Though it felt like we spent more time there, our entire dining experience lasted about one hour, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. I am definitely looking forward to returning for another visit!

Yelp
We've been here twice now. We've enjoyed both visits. The fish and chips from here are really good. I think their fries and fish could use salt. But they are still good. I had a side of peas instead of the chips. And if you like peas, you'll like these. I thought they were amazing. There's Irish music playing throughout the restaurant. It gives a fun Irish ambience. They also have live music playing outside. And outdoor seating.

Yelp
5 * friendly, quick service, excellent iced tea, and fabulous pretzel appetizer 2* burger looked unappealing, one member took one bite and didn't finish the rest 1* fish and chips were an utter fail. The chips were a shoestring style fry, overcooked to break-your-tooth hardness. The fish was ok-ish but the batter oozed of oil and just didn't taste good. Tried lemon, vinegar, and their tartar sauce, but nothing made it taste better. I love Irish pubs and, generally, have great luck with standard pub fare. Rarely do we experience such a huge disappointment. The service was fantastic so we might try again.

Yelp
Love that this place was pup friendly, covered outdoor patio & they even had little dishes for water bowls. Our server was super friendly, we came on a weekday around lunchtime & sat right away! I got the crab cake and my husband got the burger and then we ordered some truffle fries to share. The burger was definitely the best tasting then the crab cake then the fries. But honestly these fries were very underwhelming... disappointing that we spent like ~$12+ for those truffle fries when they were pretty,.. mid :(

Yelp
More than a 5 star casual dining restaurant! Great food & portions, wonderful/friendly service, enjoyable live courtyard music, perfect weather for outside dining!! Pam made us and our Golden feel very welcome and comfortable and ensure us that there was no rush to leave. We were seated in front of the courtyard to hear Ray Tomasino, the evening's live music entertainment. His music choices were right up our (and the other customers') alley. Pam participated in our banter to help us decide if we were sharing an appetizer (we had planned to do the goat cheese which she said was a great choice) and an entree. Unfortunately, we couldn't completely agree on the entree selection With Pam's participation, my husband chose the popular Chicken Pub Pie & I went with the best Fish & Chips. What huge potions and presentations that matched the awesome flavors. I wish we had taken pictures before we devoured our meals. I had the refreshing City Market Smash cocktail before & with dinner. After dinner, I had the Wexford's Iced Irish Coffee after asking Pam if I should get the Irish Coffee or Chocolate Martini. She didn't hesitate, the Irish Coffee. Pam kept the dog bowl full of water for our very thirsty Golden and brought out an excellent grilled chicken for him. Wexford may be relatively new, but they know what they are going. The interior has been carefully planned as if you were in Ireland. What a really nice evening we had.

Yelp
Ate upstairs which is very open and airy compared to the bottom floor. Ordered crab cake and it was fantastic comes with those little drop peppers that are so yummy! My husband got a sandwich that had onion rings on it. That's the item everyone should get in the menu. Soup was ok but a little salty and the chili was fine The bartender was so kind and friendly our drinks and food came out timely and the prices are average for the location in Savannah!

Yelp
Had a great birthday dinner here! My shrimp and grits were great, my fiancé's shepherds pie was not our favorite but we loved everything else! Fun live music and good service too

Yelp
We had our name on the waitlist but 2 seats opened at the bar. A girl was training and it was her first day and you couldn't tell by her performance. I ordered a drink that was very light and fresh with strawberry, basil, vodka and soda water. We started with the pretzel which my husband dug into before my pic. It was delicious. Then neither of us were going to order the fish and chips until someone sitting near us did and I am so glad we did. It may have been the best fish and chips I have had in ages. The bar had a laid back vibe even though it was busy. They had the masters on tv and everyone was super friendly. Will go back for sure.

Yelp
Great spot for a drink or quick lunch. Came highly recommended from our hotel concierge. We weren't looking for a big meal just something to snack on after a long day in the car. We ended up spitting the fish and chips which was a massive portions! The fish was light and fluffy. Not remotely greasy. The chips were fresh and crispy. Awesome service! Our server was kind and super friendly. Sabrina I think her name was. I love a cute Irish pub and this place didn't disappoint!

Yelp
It's a wonderful place to stop by and grab a drink. They had a bunch of beers on tap. They also had a menu that had some recommendations for mixed meals. We ended up ordering some food, and the cauliflower "wings" were delicious. The sauce they were prepared with was the actual winner, though. The fries were fresh and tasty. Our server arrived promptly, and we were even able to pay our tab using the handheld machine. Given that it's a Pub, you can expect great music, and they even have a space for live performances.

Yelp
I unhesitatingly declare Wexford Irish Pub the best Irish Pub in Savannah and one of the best I've ever been to. The food is Outstanding ! We had the following things recently and loved every one of them. First and foremost, the (real) Shepard's pie (made with lamb) is wonderful. The flavor is great, it comes out in a cast iron skillet and makes for a nice sized portion. The Irish Mac n cheese was really good too. It took me a minute to adjust and appreciate the real Irish cheddar in the recipe but I came to love it. You can add, bacon, chicken, shrimp or corned beef (my choice) to add some additional protein. While I didn't try the "Fishwich" fish sandwich, I was told that it was really tasty. Also, the French fries were awesome. They offer a nice selection of Whiskeys, Scotches and other offerings. The wine list is decent. Not Great but not bad either. I'm torn on the beer selection. It too is good but not Great. We were at another local (British Pub) that had a fantastic selection of craft, domestic and European beers. This would be my only suggestion for Wexford. Add about 5 - 10 more craft beers (draft, bottle, can) to the menu. Our sever Greg was awesome. He went out of his way to make it a great experience. I wish I knew the name of the bartender but he was really nice also. There is NO doubt that I'll be going back on my next trip to Savannah.

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was excellent. If anyone was in there previously when it was a different restaurant, you will be pleasantly surprised by all of the work done in there. They had live music the night I went and it was the perfect volume and very unexpected.

Yelp
I can't believe we discovered this place on our last day! It was exactly the kind of place we could've enjoyed more than once: friendly & cozy atmosphere, ideal location- in the middle of some great shopping, super nice staff, and delicious food! For apps, we ordered the pigs in a blanket and irish soda bread. The pigs were amazing and were served super hot out of the oven. I think they literally transferred the pigs from oven to plate to our table in one swift motion. The flaky "blanket" MADE this dish unique and mouth watering delicious. I ordered the chicken pub pie and legit, it might've been the best chicken pot pie I've ever had. Besides the fresh ingredients and super tender chicken, the sauce was amazing. It wasn't terribly creamy, which gives me heartburn, but had more of a thick broth consistency which went easy on me later that night. The best part was that it was served in a cast iron pan so it stayed steaming hot throughout the meal. *Perfection*! Especially on such a bitter cold and windy night! I would highly recommend this establishment! Awesome crew and a nice diverse menu! Will definitely come back next time we're in town!
google avatar

Yelp
The newest Irish pub in Savannah it is a gem. The decor is beautiful. They have nice separate area for the live music upstairs. The upstairs dining is more spacious than downstairs. It's very popular, reservations are a good plan. They have very nice outdoor seating area. The service was excellent. The fish & chips meal was delicious but the fries could have been crispier. The soup and grilled cheese sandwich was delicious. Definitely will recommend and return next time I'm in Savannah.

Yelp
Service, atmosphere, and food were amazing. I feel like we got one of everything and it was all great.

Yelp
Wexford was a pleasant surprise for an afternoon lunch! There were several small plates and appetizers that we ordered for a group of 5. They had live entertainment, and the tables were comfortable. All of the food was outstanding and I highly recommend the reuben, the chicken wings, the whipped goat cheese dip, and the pretzel! You can't go wrong sharing these items! Our server was fun, efficient and attentive! Our meal was not rushed, and there was live entertainment in addition!! This was a good time and if I lived in Savannah, this would be a hangout for sure!!
google avatar

Brandi C.

Yelp
First time here and it did not disappoint! We came to listen to the Irish music (Brendan Nolan) and enjoyed some Guinness. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I just wanted the fish batons. We both said it was the best fried fish we had ever had. The service was great! Grace was very attentive for the entire 3 hrs we were there We live 5 hours away, but will for sure stop back in on our next visit to Savannah. So glad to see a genuine Irish restaurant in downtown Savannah doing it right!

Yelp
Was walking around the area trying to find a place to eat and saw this place. Looked at the menu and said, let's try it. Good choice on our part! We sat outside which was so cute and aesthetically pleasing. They had live music and it was a nice ambiance. We ordered waters and when the waitress brang them over, she accidentally spilled it all over the table and some got on my friend but honestly, no big deal. It happens and it was JUST WATER! I'm adding this cause people need to stop getting mad at stupid stuff like that. We're all human and accidents happen. She was very apologetic and ran for towels to clean it then got him a fresh glass. Totally forgot what he ordered but I got the Shepard's pie. Was gonna get a chicken sandwich cause I didn't wanna spend too much and then my friend "yelled" at me that he's paying and demanded I get the Shepard's pie cause he knew that's what I really wanted. Lmao! HOLY HELL FREAKIN DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! Haven't had Shepard's pie in years and this was mouthwateringly good. I was in heaven. I don't usually eat salad but decided to give it a try since it came with it and even that was delicious!! This place is a little too expensive for me but if I know I'll be in Savannah then I think I'll put some money aside to go back. Two thumbs up from me!!
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
This place is stunning. The entire atmosphere is upscale Irish pub. You can clearly see that no expense was spared when doing a full floor to ceiling remodel. As for the food it was good. The presentation was spectacular, the taste was good. Irish food doesn't have a ton of taste traditionally in my experience so it was on par. As for the service, the waitstaff was excellent. They came to the table enough and also were pleasant and courteous. The hiccup we had was that the initial first impression was not good. Unfortunately, The lady that was the host(ess) seemed very overwhelmed and we were the only people waiting. I would recommend a different job for her as the role didn't seem to match the personality. The person that walked us to the table all the way upstairs was also awkward and didn't really say anything to invite us to the establishment. These two definitely didn't match the rest of the experience. Overall I'd recommend this place but I'll give it 4 stars for the first impression.

Yelp
Made a reservation and got seated upstairs, in a hightop not a booth as requested. The waitress was nice but not very attentive, maybe she was oversat. The food was good. In our party we got the burger, fish sandwich, sliders, and fish and chips. My fish and chips was tasty, perfect crisp on the fish but it was flaky and the fries were delicious. The soda bread to share...you got 3 slices lol. For $10 a pictured a small loaf but it is downtown savannah. I would like to try some other things like their corned beef and cabbage so may be back.

Yelp
A top notch total renovation of this historic property that is now home to Wexford Pub really sets the mood for the St. Patrick's festivities. Named after County Wexford, Ireland, in honor of the many Irish emigrants who settled here in the mid 1800s, the decor and menu do justus to the local Irish heritage. Our service tonight was efficient and friendly. Thank you! We started the evening with Pigs in a Blanket - Irish pork sausage rolled in puff pastry and garnished with spicy mustard and Guinness BBQ Wexford wings. All finger licking good! For dinner I opted for the Potato & Leek Soup with their Wee Salad. On this cool March evening I was looking forward to hot soup, but found it lukewarm and bland. The accompanying Irish soda bread was forgettable. I've eaten here several times now, and this soup was the biggest disappointment I've had at Wexford. The small salad was fresh, the lettuce greens were crisp and the choice of their Green Goddess dressing was yummy. We finished the evening with Lemon Curd and a slice of Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake. Do yourself a favor a spurge on a slice of this decadent, creamy cheesecake. It's simply the best! Their creamy Lemon curd tastes like they use the eggless Lemon curd recipe. It was good, but I'd prefer to spend my calories on the delicious Baileys Irish Cream Cheesecake. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Come for the food and stay for the craic! I brought my parents here on a Sunday night for dinner. There was a line to check in but we were seated on the second floor which was mostly empty. They had live music outside and a stage where someone was setting up to play. Our server Jake was friendly and helpful. Food came out fast! We ordered: Soda bread as an app: came as 3 slices with cold butter. The bread was warm though so just folded it around the butter to melt it a bit. This was a good holdover until the food came because I was starving! Shepherd's Pie - large portion! The lamb and beef was moist and flavorful. Lots of mashed potatoes on top. Side salad was good with their olive oil and vinegar, but I swear the oil might have been truffle oil! It was very fragrant and I forgot to ask. Chicken Pub Pie - they're not kidding about the puff pastry on top! It is a huge square of flaky, crispy goodness. The filling was classically flavored for a chicken pot Pie. My mom got the Emerald Isle(? It's their Green Goddess equivalent) dressing, and she seemed to like it. Fish and Chips - a large portion of chips that look hand cut. The fish was flavorful and crispy. The coleslaw was missing the listed craisins but my dad loved it with the bleu cheese all the same. All the mains were plenty for 2 servings each! Their Irish red beer was a local one from Asheville and they were using the proceeds from sales of it to help the city after the Hurricane. I got their strawberry lemonade mocktail. It did not seem to have bubbles from the lemon lime soda so I did not drink much of it. Next time: I'll be trying the post roast.

Yelp
This was one of my favorite Savannah spots a very fun lively bar and has great food and service. Definitely ask for a table outside by the live music & order the fries!
google avatar

Yelp
Very cool spot in what used to be Wild Wings cafe, it's cool That there's now a nicer looking Irish pub. There are tons of beer options. And the seating around the bar is so cool. I'm originally from The Boston area, so When I say I want to go to an Irish pub, this is what I mean! We came here late night on a Monday, and the bar was pretty quiet, but we like that. I imagine it gets swamped on the weekends! Looking forward to go back and try their food, but such a cool addition to the downtown area.

Yelp
Love Lisa the bartender!!! she literally was the best super fun and welcoming. also the lamb sliders are bomb i so recommend.

Yelp
Wexford Irish Pub has been a piece of Ireland in Savannah's Central Market since Aug 2024. Much of the dark wood interior was built in Ireland for assembly here! Well, on a Dec '24 weekday, we found ourselves a sunny nook in the back of this welcoming pub, enjoying great food and whiskey. The fish & chips was thick and juicy haddock in a lightly flavored fresh thick crunchy beer-batter crust. The Guinness pot roast sandwich was overstuffed toothsome and flavorful thin-sliced with a bright horseradish aioli on a toasted baguette. Their pan-seared cod was perfectly medium-tender over spinach and tomatoes with a splash of garlic. The whiskey list is extensive with several I havent tried before, so i went with a double-oaked Irish whiskey, Writer's Tears, and it was so warm and rich that i forgot to give my brother a taste! I mean, he could have asked before i finished instead of after, the drama-queen ;-) By the way, it was so smooth and fiery, and it had a nice sweetness without losing any bite. Welcoming staff, imported authentic decor, excellent food, and killer beverages. C'mon out to Ireland in the southeast corner of the City Market pedestrian mall!

Yelp
One of the best meals I had during my trip to Savannah. The pot roast was amazing. Would definitely go back to try something else on the menu. Service was also great, even with it being quite busy.

Yelp
The food was SOOOOO GOOD! My husband ordered the reuben, I ordered the Pub sliders, & we got the Irish Poutine Fries, Gravy, whatever else is on there for an appetizer. All of it was amazing & we left full. Jake, our server, was awesome & helpful when we ordered as this is our first time here. I loved the live music. The building itself looks old (i'm sure it is) & I thought it was gorgeous. The prices aren't cheap but it's also not an expensive restaurant. Good food is always worth good money!

Yelp
Wow...just wow! I attended the Grand Opening and then enjoyed lunch with a couple beers. Food phenominal. Beer and liquor selection excellent. Atmosphere is first rate. Entertainment is unmatched: live music outside 7 days a week @ 5pm. Live Irish music every weekend inside on second floor. You need to checkout the SECOND FLOOR. There are multiple bars and tables in 1st and 2nd floor but upper floor is my FAV. Stage on second floor for live music. The menu is quality gastro pub fare at reasonable prices...much better than crazy Plant Riverside district nearby. I enjoyed the LAMB SLIDERS which were amazing. They come topped with mint jelly and goat cheese. The HOUSE MADE CHIPS (fries) were best in Savannah! They have a good beer selection on tap. They carry HOP HOUSE 13 (AKA WEXFORD LAGER) which is made by Guinness and very difficult to find. Bar Tender said it's only available at two locations in US. It was really tasty. A Catholic priest sprinkled Holy water all around the pub today, so it's ready for shinanigans and follow-on confessions. Savannah Mayor Van Johnson admitted he was 2% Irish...who would have guessed??? Be sure to notice the names of the women when walking up stairs. They came from Ireland, one from each Irish county, to walk the St Patty's Day parade the first year women were allowed to participate in the parade.

Yelp
While City Market is a prime location for a restaurant, the locals don't always want to be here especially during peak tourism season. Wexfords is worth fighting the crowds to dine at! I came with a group of friends on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. We were able to sit at a table right away and received prompt service from our waiter. He provided all the best recommendations for drinks, and food. We started with a round of beers and cocktails. I ordered the lavender lemon drop which had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. Then we had Celtic knot giant pretzel and it was giant! The menu says "VERY SPICY" mustard but we did not think it was spicy at all. I had the ancient grains bowl for lunch. They were out of quinoa so it was served with cous cous. Still delicious. The potatoes provided the perfect amount of crisp and salt to satisfy my savory palate. I was truly impressed by the number of vegan and vegetarian options. Everything was labeled as such on the menu. I even noticed gluten free as well.

Yelp
First of all, we did have good service. But the food....ughhhh! It was absolutely tasteless! I had the flounder fish sandwich with hand cut fries. The sandwich had coleslaw & cheese on it....alll tastel, I add salt, didn't help, I added tartar sauce, which helped a little bit. The fries were limp & not hot. I left maybe 3/4 of it on my plate...uneaten My husband had the Reuben, the amount of corned beef was lacking, it was mostly sauerkraut & his fries were limp and not hot too. We complained to our server and all she said was "sorry"...can I get you anything else....ahhh, no thank you!

Yelp
Food at Wexford is amazing and portions are giant! Went in initially thinking we'd get the nachos as an app and share the fish and chips for dinner. We were stuffed after the nachos. Went back the following day for the fish and chips. Delicious! Service could be greatly improved upon, particularly at the hostess station. All three employees we encountered there seemed to not want to be there. If you're a host, your job is to make customers feel welcomed upon arrival. Unfortunately, that was not my experience and is the only reason I'm not giving a 5-star rating.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service first of all, I used to have this perception of Irish Pubs was fish and chips well I learned that's only a small portion of the great. This place knows how to pour a Guinness like they do in Dublin. This place is the real deal all the way from great appetizers to excellent Ruben, fish and chips. Great place with great atmosphere

Yelp
This place was just ok. Nothing special. We were seated and waited and waited and finally flagged someone down for water. Then waited and waited and our waiter finally appeared. Nice guy and helpful with the menu. Food was good not great. Certainly not something I'd go back for or would recommend.

Yelp
An Irish pub was not how I expected to spend Valentines night but oh what a treat! This place is located in City Market. The building itself if steeped in history and authenticity. We opted to sit upstairs because of live music. They had an Irish singer who played a few Irish times but also covers like Tom Petty really well. We started with the Wexford Old Fashioned. Excellent. I had the deconstructed Reuben and my husband had lemon pepper chicken wings. The appetizer wings are big enough for a meal. Both were excellent.

Yelp
It started out a little slow, I had a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich. That was good. My beer was cold. That's about all I can say for this place, touristy and OK.
