Yelp
First of all let me just say, reading the negative reviews on a business while it's soft opening or grand opening with all this its quirks and mishaps that may happen during the process, s a chicken sh#t move and not fair to the business orbits community. Having said that, we waited a few months so that those quirks and such may have played out and of course we weren't going to wait in grand opening lines. We also wanted to go inside and sit and see what kind of atmosphere the business had.
So we went on a Sunday afternoon before 5pm.
No lines, found a parking spot in the unusual parking lot, and went to place our very first order having never gone to a Whataburgwrs before. You can use a kiosk or go to the counter and give your order.
We had a couple of questions which they answered politely then we took our order number and sat down. I noticed after we went through, it started to get real busy. The tables were all filling up with waiting families and no food out. I started to get worried...
Around 15-20 minutes and here came our food. Then I noticed orders started arriving for other tables, one right after another.
My chili cheeseburger was good and I couldn't finish it, it was so much food!! My family had the chili cheese fries and they couldn't finish them, they were so filling! I had regular French fries which were very good, hot and freshly salted.
Good first time visit I think.
Some observations:
As a manager, I would have my people call out the order numbers as they walk around the restaurant dining room looking for those customers. Many of the order numbers weren't visible and it slowed down their table delivery
Also, they should collect the plastic order number tents. I imagine just leaving them there, they probably would be mistakenly swept into the trash with the other food detritus sometimes and that would add up $wise.
I saw no name badges on 80 percent of the employees.
The one lady who changed the garbage and cleaned up the stations also washed the tables down was back and forth helping everyone with various requests for condiments, napkins, etc. Somehow she lifted a big container of fresh iced tea over to the counter. I decided to try the fresh brewed iced tea and it was sooooo good!
So, form your own opinion and give them a try. Remember timing is crucial. If you go during their lunch rush and see the line is around the building and down Bullsboro, maybe wait and go at off peak time if you want to give them a fair chance.
