"Ron Swanson is our spirit animal. Not so much when it comes to the use of tools or the great outdoors, but we heed Ron’s advice when he says things like, “When I eat, it is the food that is scared,” and “There will be alcohol there, so I will go as well.” We’ve got a feeling Whisk feels the same way about Ron’s life lessons, mainly because the entranceway is a shrine full of Ron Swanson art. By day, Whisk is a seven days a week neighborhood breakfast and brunch spot in West Town that also happens to be BYOB. They’re serving the usual brunch favorites plus dishes with a Mexican twist. And let’s be real, Mexican inspired brunch might as well be American classics these days, because who doesn’t love chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. There’s a ridiculous selection of sweet stuff, including Snicker’s-stuffed french toast and espresso-infused mocha pancakes, but those are usually best for sharing or as an extra dish for only a couple bites. At 5pm, Whisk switches over to their dinner menu, which is mostly burgers, plus a couple of breakfast items and alternative sandwiches. The music and art on the walls help maintain the casual feel, so you can pop in any day of the week for an easy bite. But the fact it’s also BYOB means Whisk is a place where you can rally the crew together at night. Not that Whisk is new, but it often gets overlooked in the big BYOB discussions amongst friends. And with the abundance of sushi and thai places that let you bring your own booze, a burger spot that’s also BYOB is a great change of pace. One thing is for sure - we know Ron Swanson would approve, because his ideal night out is “grilling up a thick slab of something’s flesh.” Food Rundown Whisk Hash House braised pulled pork with sweet potatoes topped with eggs and a chipotle hollandaise sauce. Mix it all together before you take a bite. Breakfast Burrito A classic breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, guac, chorizo, queso fresco, and sour cream, plus sides of chipotle salsa and house potatoes. The Old Timer Burger Burger patty with cheddar cheese, bacon, and a fried egg. Simple and good. If you want to be not so simple, get it “breakfast style,” which is pretty ridiculous and substitutes two pieces of french toast used as a bun. The Ron Swanson Burger Eight ounce burger patty wrapped in a pound of bacon and topped with bacon-mayo. Eat at your own heart failure risk. Smoked Turkey Sandwich If you’re at Whisk for dinner with your friends and a burger is too much, opt for this quality smoked turkey breast sandwich with gouda cheese, bacon, avocado, spinach, tomato, and chipotle mayo on grilled panini bread. Google
Whisk was an adorable crepe place that smelled AMAZING walking in. We chose to order a few and sit and eat them there. Their employees were all very kind. We got the Fair Day, Jourdain and the chicken basil. I usually have a major sweet tooth and my favorite one was the chicken basil. I felt like it was packed full of delicious ingredients. The other two were good but didn’t seem as packed full as the chicken basil. For the Fair Day one, it felt like it was missing something and we were hoping for thicker apples inside, it was more so like an applesauce. The Jourdain had some unique flavors but we felt was slightly lacking in how full it was. Overall- super cute place and because I loved the chicken basil, I’d come back to try some other ones. I’d recommend!

Google
Delicious and great prices! However we shared and it was very light and not filling but we just ordered more and got to try more! Cookies and cream was better than lemon curd strawberry one and the chicken basil and brisket ones were both good but the brisket is spicy with the jalapeño 😋

Google
Bristo is cute and has a nice playlist. The owner was really kind and helpful explaining the different menus! The food was delicious, especially the chicken pesto, which was my first savory crepe! Fair Day was sweet but not too sweet!

Google
I had the Normandy crepe with a honey/cinnamon latte. I’ve been to a few crepe places in DFW, and this might have been the best crepe I’ve ever had. When they say savory, they mean savory. Everyone was polite and very welcoming. It was an all around great experience.

Google
The Fairday crepe was not what I expected, but it was still good. I was expecting something similar to an apple pie for some reason. The Citron however, was amazing! The berry one was great too.

Riya Shrestha

Google
One of the best savory crepes I’ve had (Hen of the woods). Jordaine, a sweet crepes, was also very unique. Must visit when in Bishop art district!

Google
they delivered bad service. They brought my food one at a time and they forgot my coffee. We had to share the first plate with my friend and then we shared his plate because they came separately. The coffee never came so we had breakfast without coffee. The server was very unhelpful and forgot to bring the silverware when the food arrived.

Google
I tried the Normandy crepe and I am not sure I have eaten anything better. The buckwheat was crispy around the edges and unbelievably delicious. Love the new location! We will be back soon.

Yelp
Visited on a Tuesday around 1:15 PM. Dedicated parking lot (phew!). Few tables but there was business, even on a week day. Staff was lovely, if not a little busy because there was only two for taking orders, making delicious crepes, refilling water glasses, processing payment, etc. Even so, they did wonderfully. Fair Day crepe (sweet) was DELICIOUS! Everything I'd hoped it would be!

Yelp
DELICIOUS & AFFORDABLE CREPES If you're looking for a tasty brunch option, check out the crepes at Whisk Crepe Cafe. They have both savory and sweet options at affordable prices and the food is made fresh to order. It's a small cafe, so not great for big groups. I'm a huge fan of the Océane Crepe, which has smoked salmon, capers, sunny side up egg, chives, tomatoes, and creme fraiche. You need to get it with the buckwheat batter. It makes the crepe a little bit more crispier. You can't go wrong with any of the dessert crepes. If you like pistachio, I'd recommend the Jourdain crepe. You can also make your own sweet crepe for just $7! Whisk is moving location to Bishop Arts this coming December. Be on the lookout for their Grand Opening! Yelp
I'm happy to report that so far, Whisk has served me the best crêpes I've ever had in Texas. My husband and I ordered the Normandy crepe which is a savory cheese and egg buckwheat crepe and oh my, was it GOOD! It comes with a little salad and the whole thing was just perfectly prepared. I wouldn't change a single thing. Perfect. Yum! The place itself is very small however and there's only seating for a handful of people inside, along with a couple of tables outside. So although Whisk arguably serves some of the best crêpes in Texas, how are they supposed to provide their delicious meals to larger crowds, I wonder? I do hope they're able to scale the business because it's a real hidden gem. I would go back in a heartbeat whenever I'm in Dallas again! They stole my heart.

Yelp
I recently came back to this whisk cafe because the fam was craving something sweet and warm on a cold evening. I recommended Whisk because I enjoyed their sweet crêpes and was craving a traditional lemon and sugar crêpe. My partner ordered the Oreo version and our daughter chose strawberries and Nutella for hers. We all finished our crêpes and left empty plates so this visit was a success! We will definitely come back here again.

Yelp
Love, love, loved my lunch here earlier today. The restaurant is super cute and clean, the employees were very friendly, and my crepe was delicious. Will be back soon!

Colette E.

Yelp
Always a delight to visit Whisk! Love their specials and how fresh all the food is-made to order! They are super accommodating with allergies and staff is always friendly. Their cute indoor/outdoor seating takes me back to the scene of a Paris cafe. They cater too for a very reasonable price! Highly recommend!

Car S.

Yelp
Buckwheat crepes love that this is an option. I ordered savory, make my own: Egg - not enough egg, could not taste it. You probably have to add another egg or two to taste it. With fresh tomatoes, spinach. + $1 avocado - it's not the fruit, it's a mix with garlic and/ or onion; I hate that. The menu should say guacamole or something instead of "avocado" I skipped the cheese so flavor was blah The way they made it: they folded the egg in first Then add tomatoes and spinach - I like all my ingredients combined so this does not make sense. Then topped it with "avocado" aka guacamole. Meh. Not worth it for $14

Rachael B.

Yelp
Great spot and staff! Crepes were outstanding, my twins loved them and the owner or manager (French guy?) making the crepes was funny and super friendly. Would recommend this spot to anyone!

Sara T.

Yelp
I had no shame driving in the pouring Dallas rain to fulfill a craving. Luckily I live very close which makes it hard to fight the urge and not come here weekly. I ordered ahead and got the Nutella crepe with bananas. It was everything and more. Sooo warm and chocolatey. I've tried multiple savory crepes before and they were good. My favorite was the bbq chicken crepe but I don't think they offer that anymore

Brenda F.

Yelp
Friendly service and excellent crepes, especially the buckwheat crepes. The chicken crepes are a great savory option.

Jillian R.

Yelp
It was an incredible experience with amazing food! The service was amazing and everyone was very helpful. I am very excited for their location at Bishop Arts and will be back for more. Thank you to the staff and for the incredible food!

Berenice S.

Yelp
The crepas are good, but the best part of the experience is the lavender latte. It's the best and smoothest thing you'll try there.

Eddie I.

Yelp
Went here for dessert after a date night Great choice! Friendly staff and delicious crepes! We got the fair day crepe and the dark chocolate crepe with strawberries instead of raspberries and it hit the spot!!! Quick service!

Fatima C.

Yelp
I absolutely love love love this place! Their crepes are absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is so great! My forever go to is the Nutella and strawberry crepe and my mom's is the Fair Day one as she loves apple and caramel! Such a cozy place, and perfect for cute dates!

Shon J.

Yelp
Stumbled onto this gem after moving to the neighborhood! Had fun watching them make our order. Prices are fair. We will be back for a dessert one soon!

Gill S.

Yelp
A solid place that specializes in crepes. Location wise its not super obvious where this is located, but google maps will get you there. The inside is pretty small, so if they get busy, then expect to be standing or taking your food to go. The staff is nice but act like its there first jobs. They are open for lunch, brunch, and dinner, so its versatile to the mood. I was in the mood for more of a dessert crepe, so I went with the Banana and Nutella on inside, with Nutella and strawberries on top. Good crispy batter, fresh fruits, and enough nutella to crave the sweet tooth but not feel overwhelming. I'll have to come back to try the savory crepes next time!

Rebecca A.

Yelp
Great service and food! Loved that they have gluten free options. Got the 10$ deal w savory crepe, sweet crepe, and drink (not sure if this is a lunch deal or what but def recommend). Staff is friendly and helpful!

Timothy T.

Yelp
Great gluten free options! We had the Chicken Basil, Madame Du-Berry and the Citron. Great staff and wonderful food. We drove 30 minutes since it's hard to find anyplace with GF crepes, and we will be back!

Tonie ..

Yelp
I would give them more if that was possible. The crepes are not just beautiful but scrumptious. I got the peach crepe and my kiddos the Nutella/strawberries and the Oreo crepe. Great service, they even bring you water for your table.

Remy V.

Yelp
I was foul for not taking a picture before I took a bite. I just couldn't help myself. Best crepe I personally have had before. Like ever. I created my own and did the cookie butter with strawberries. Ahhhhmazing. The end.

Bre B.

Yelp
This would be a great place to stop in after dinner or for a quick snack. All of the ingredients looked fresh and of quality, I was most impressed by the process of them being made right up front! Service was just OK- what you would expect in 2023 The portions we're not at all what I was expecting. I may be used to the over stuffed American crêpes lol, these are definitely authentic French crêpes. They are made thin, crisp, and with only simple fresh ingredients. I only ordered one while my husband was smart and ordered three. When we left I was still hungry and he felt just right. So if you have an appetite, order 3! They offer a savory and sweet menu and you can choose their flavor options or build your own. The ambiance gives French cafe / small coffee shop. When you walk in they have a few tables, a long tall bar table in the window, and a few patio tables. Very clean and centered around the crêpe making station. We will definitely be back for a snack, dessert or to order 3!

Carrie A.

Yelp
What a wonderful little escape in the city, the crepes are amazing and the staff is great. There is a huge variety of different options and the crepes come out pretty quickly.

Gustavo R.

Yelp
Top-tier crepes! PERFECT date night spot (even though I went with some friends ha). Cool area - everyone can probably find something they'd like & a somewhat decent parking size. DELICIOUSLY handcrafted crepes with fresh tasting ingredients. I had Luka / The G.O.A.T. Crepe & it was iconic! Fig pairs very well with goat cheese. Avoid sitting outside - something about this area attracts a LOT of flies (all the food?) we couldn't stop swatting the flies the entire meal. Crepes start at $6 if you're building your own & go up to $13 (excluding tax) per dish! It's about the size of one pizza slice, but can be pretty filling!

Laura P.

Yelp
Lovely French crepe cafe has a crepe for your every desire: breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, savory or sweet, for a meal or dessert. We had the BIscoff cookie butter crepe, which was so delicious it improved us to make a Biscoff cheesecake for Christmas dinner! Dining room is charming, airy and bright. Crepes are delicious and served up hot and crispy. 5 crispy and delicious stars!

Eli T.

Yelp
This cafe is in a great location and the establishment is very clean. The employees were very nice and it was very fast service. I had the cookies n cream crepe and is was delicious. The crepe was soft and warm and the strawberries blanched out the sweetness perfectly.

Jacquelyn H.

Yelp
The food is delicious! The server was very nice. It would be perfect if the inside was a little larger and maybe a little more French!

Christian N.

Yelp
Whisk crepes were very good. The sweet ones were very tasteful and the savory ones were very satisfying. The oceane has salmon and capers in it and was good, but it could've had a sauce or seasoning inside or on the side because it was lacking a little flavor. Other than that it had good service and was very enjoyable.

Sean F.

Yelp
These crepes are amazing! The lemon curd crepe with just the right amount of tart and sweet.

Greg N.

Yelp
Had a late lunch here today. Ordered several different savory and sweet crepes, some of which we ordered for takeout. All were great, freshly made with fresh quality ingredients and well presented. The togo ones were boxed nicely as well. Dining in we were brought a bottle of tap water and some paper cups to drink along with the beverages we ordered. Wish y'all consider coming to Midlothian for a second location. There is a house just wrapping up the renovation in a new development in Midlothian that this concept would be perfect for. Next to Wilson's Seafood and Porch Pour.

Cara H.

Yelp
very good lunch special!!! came with friends & had a good time. in a cute little area too!

TJ N.

Yelp
Second time here (first was when they first opened). I enjoyed it and glad they have the nice lil' patio, relaxing with crepe on a Summery day, nice nice. Shared the citron crepe with strawberries. Perfectly savory, sweet, tart. Yes. I would have liked it to be slightly larger, though it's probably best for my waistline! ;)

Anna S.

Yelp
Delicious crepes!! I ordered the savory Hen of the Wood and it's so tasty. I'm usually not a big fan of crepes but wow this place amazed me. Will definitely be returning to try more of their crepes. (Maybe even a sweet one next time!) They have outdoor and indoor seatings - the group sitting next to us was raving to us about how delicious these crepes are before we even got seated. You can also order to go from them but dine-in has more options to chose from! The waitress said they have a different menu for dine-in and to go orders.

Catie S.

Yelp
While waiting on another restaurant to open, we got a S'mores iced Latte and a Nute-Latte. Both were great!! And the gentleman working there was very friendly!! There was seating nearby for us to enjoy our drinks.

Jasmine G.

Yelp
It was a cute little place with really good options for crepes and kind servers! They also have coffee.

Cindy M.

Yelp
The ambiance is one of a kind, the service and food is makes you feel like you are right at home.

Roma B.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick brunch on Sunday. Built my own crepe with chicken, swiss, pesto, creamed mushroom, and sautéed onions. The crepe itself was just the right thickness and not too thin. All the ingredients were very fresh and paired well together. The service was quick and the indoor seating was small, but cute. Planning on trying a dessert crepe next time!

Leslie L.

Yelp
In the app it says they close at 10pm, we came in at 9:30 and the door is closed. I was really looking forward for a crape, drive 25 min just to see employees closing the door and proceeding to make crapes for them selfs. Very disappointed.

Lindsey C.

Yelp
This café offers sweet and savory crepes and they have a great selection to choose from. My friend got the Chicken Basil crepe and I got the Cookies & Cream crepe - we both loved what we got. They only do patio seating now and it can be hard to find a place to sit bc there's only a few tables outside. It was pretty hot when we went and there were so many flies that would try to get into the food, so definitely didn't enjoy the experience. However, the crepes were delicious!

Sarah M.

Yelp
Just did an event with Whisk Crepes and wow what a fantastic concept! Freshly made to order crepes at your party? Yes please! Delicious and amazing service

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
Whoa! Sorry I had forgotten about this wonderful cafe. Just as charming as ever with hours simply floating by and pampered with impeccable service. Delighted to find two counter seats with one side facing their crepe station. Fun to watch the pour, spread, toppings, and, fold of crepes being made. Perfect was my wheat savory crepe this afternoon. Though a bit too seasoned for my taste, plentiful were the mushrooms, spinach, and, gruyere inside. Can't wait in coming back soon. Ahhh, a sweet crepe at teatime with a cappuccino next it'll be. CHEERS!

Kady L.

Yelp
Finally got to try this place! Came in the evening time. Was disappointed that we had to be seated outside and it was windy! I ordered the cookies n creme crepe which was good! Disappointed that our utensils kept flying everywhere due to the wind. Also it was like hard to ask for anything because everyone was cleaning. Will come back to try the savory crepe!

Taufiq H.

Yelp
Ran out of dark chocolate but they did put milk chocolate on my savory buckwheat crepe. The other crepe was a sweet one with lemon and fresh strawberries. Update on 12/27/2018. Back here for strawberries and lemon crepe. Not the cheapest but still great crepes Update on 12/28/2019 Back for buckwheat + lemon + strawberries. Awesome !

Jonna L.

Yelp
Customer service was friendly and went above and beyond! They made substitutions for me quickly and easily, and answered my many questions (in case you don't know me, I'm full of questions) I ordered the cookies and cream crepe and it came out quickly, at the perfect temperature, and honestly, I wanted to never end my experience. The venue has limited seating, but it's such a cute place. We have yet to figure out what the area is officially called, but it's within walking distance to Alta Yorktown. My phone was dying - from taking photos and such - and one of the employees offered to let me use her charger! Customer service 5+ stars Venue ambience 5+ stars Presentation 5+ stars Price point was average for crepes so 4 stars Over all - 5 from me :)

Mary S.

Yelp
I love this place and frequently go with my kids and their friends . Today I was sorely disappointed and will not return. My son gets the cookies and crème and instead of chocolate drizzle he gets berry drizzle. We have done this many times. Today I was denied the substitution. For no reason that I can see or understand. It's drizzle!! We will not be back.

Alfredo E.

Yelp
Best crepes in DFW so far, specially these are the best savory crepes. This is the only place we've seen where they get right the crepes are not only a dessert. Worth every penny.

Sara T.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place, real authentic french crepes, both sweet and savory. You can tell that the chief knows what is he doing. The servers were great people (shoutout to the girl in black jeans who brought the savory first then sweet, thoughtful!) The patio area is nice. Coffee is great! I might start coming here for regular morning coffees, my only complain is the quantity of coffee (so little for the price) Overall I had a good experience.

Keisha H.

Yelp
So I had been wanted to go here before I touched down from chicago... I have been craving crepes since I left Mexico. So when I found this place I was excited. Went late last night since they are open till 10 but they were closed for an event. I was disappointed but decided to come back today after the gym. Very cute spot. Small with a few seats indoors and two outside. No bathroom inside so make sure you go before you come. Now on to the good stuff. The crepes. I tried 4...yes I said 3 don't judge me The fairday- I was most excited about this one but it was just ok. The cream cheese filling consistency was meh. Not enough apples and the crepe wasn't hot. I did three craft my own 1.Salted Carmel with banana- this one the banana helped it but the salted Carmel (which is the part I was looking forward to) feel flat. It wasn't sweet or salted. So I wouldn't order that one again. 2. Belgium cookie spread (think biscoff cookie) with a chocolate drizzle and topped almond slivers. This one was the best I wish I would had added banana it would have set it off. Overall just ok. I was a bit disappointed. But Mayb go back to try some different ones. Mayb even a savory one.

Donovan K.

Yelp
Perfect little spot for a quick workday brunch! Not a whole lot of sitting room, so keep that in mind. They have a great variety of sweet and savory crepes. I had the chicken basil crepe and it was fantastic! The crepe was light and airy, with a nice crisp edge. The basil chicken filling was generous and very flavorful. It has a nice basil pesto drizzled on the top that made for a nice touch. No one in our group could find anything negative about the food. The service was good. She was attentive and helpful.

Santanu S.

Yelp
I was headed to Trinity Groves and wanted to have breakfast nearby. Being only a mile away, this place was ideal. When I told the staff that I was a first time customer, I was shown the sweet and savory menus. I was also recommended the buckwheat batter for savory crepes and flour for sweet. I strongly suggest adhering to that suggestion. I was here for breakfast, so I chose the #2 Specialty crepe which has the Spanish chorizo. Although I was told it was spicy, it was not. It was definitely flavorful. The taste of the buckwheat crepe itself reminded me of a paper masala dosa. When I cracked the yolk, it blended well with the ingredients. This morning, the restaurant must have ran out of clean spoons. I needed one for my coffee. When I saw none were available, I resorted to using a straw.
