This was my first, and last experience I will have at Whiskey Red's Restaurant. I went there this past Sunday to enjoy a bridal shower brunch with one of my dearest friends. Outside of the beautiful view of the Marina, and the fun we eventually had amongst ourselves, the staff, (more specifically the manager Daniel), was very rude and unprofessional.
The multiple issues were as follows:
Even though we had reservations for this special event, we were made to wait to be seated because our tables were not ready. Secondly, he attempted to sit our party at tables not in proximity to each other, which was very frustrating because it defeated the main purpose of the bridal shower; to share this experience with the full bridal party. When the manager was asked by the bride's young adult daughter to accommodate us sitting together, which should have been a given, his quick and apparent agitated response was, "You guys are killing me!!"
Thirdly, he proceeded to make us stand in the vicinity of multiple tables as they placed two tables together after our initial complaint, while the guests already enjoying their brunch appeared to be uncomfortable with us standing around, (our reservation was at 10:30 am), so the restaurant had few guests.
He then told us they were short staffed, and backed up in the kitchen, (how was that possible when their restaurant had just opened at 10 am, and why would you tell your guests that before they were even seated?) They provided us with one server, which wasn't the biggest issue, it was the fact our entire party wasn't served their meals at the same time. In fact the bride's table was the last table served. Additionally, they made so many of the meals incorrectly, (and let's not forget most our meals came without any seasoning), at least 4 meals were sent back 3 times, so they eventually had to take some charges off the closing bill.
Further, the manager Daniel never came back to see how we were doing, after all things considered. He didn't even think to ask, "How is the food? Is everything going OK?"
The crux of the day, was when the server had the audacity to tell us to lower our voices, we were too loud. Excuse me!! It was a bridal shower, so we were playing customary bridal shower games, and all in attendance were extremely grown, and classy. Further, our party was seated outside, so the boats, canoes, kayaks, and other various water activities occurring simultaneously adjacent to the restaurant were louder than any noise their staff alleged we were producing, and were complaining about.
Suffice it to say, had it not been for my friend's bridal shower, and us maintaining the day was all about her, I would have expressed my annoyance, and disappointment with their unprofessional service at the restaurant. Hence, this detailed review. Working in a service oriented profession myself, I don't believe the customer is always right. However, the sum total of our disappointing experience at Whiskey Red's Restaurant left way too much to be said.
