"It’s no secret that the East Side gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights, but even the busiest bars in the area barely hold a candle to the crowds at Whisler’s, home to some of the best cocktails east of I-35. "Scranton Twohey’s East Sixth bar was an immediate hit when it opened in 2013 with its vintage goth aesthetic, ample outdoor space, and approachable yet intriguing cocktail list. The Old Fashioned here is a classic and look for seasonal drinks like the Sesame Street with toasted coconut tequila, cucumber water, lime, and aerated sesame oil. Sneak upstairs to Mezcaleria Tobala for a tour of mezcal. On-site truck Golden Tiger slings up chicken sandwiches and burgers." - Erin Russell

As for ambiance, there’s a lively East Sixth Street patio that is, thankfully, tented when it’s cold. But, for a more intimate experience, grab a corner table inside the dimly lit bar amongst the hundreds of twinkling candles and wafting scent of palo santo.
