Pretty decent, albeit expensive, lunch. That said, it's Aspen, so everything is pricey here. I was a little surprised to not have more restaurant choices on a weekend, but I guess we're in that gap between ski season and summer, so a lot was closed.
Even though we showed up a little after the lunch rush, they were busy, and we waited about 15 mins after putting our names on the list. Not wowed by backless barstools, but whatever. We were tired and hungry. The beer menu isn't huge, but we decided on a few to try. Ironically, we liked each other's beers better than our own.
We split the duo chip and dip app with guacamole and a spicy cheese dip for $16. More dips than chips, it was nice when the waitress offered to bring us more chips for the rest of the dips, both of which were quite good.
My wife had the french dip au jus sandwich, and I tried the crispy chicken sandwich. Again, both sandwiches were very good. A little surprised to see a sandwich or burger not come with fries, so we split a side order for $8. Glad we did that rather than get our own, because the fries weren't great. Kind of tasted like stale McDonald's fries, to be honest.
Service was fine, if not spectacular. My wife's water glass had lipstick on it. Water wasn't working in the women's restroom, and the first time I went into the men's, they were out of both soap and hand towels. In this regard, not sure the overall ambiance they're trying for hit the mark, at least with us.
