I won't repeat what other reviews have said; simply confirming that the price range, variety, and tastiness of foods is as reviewed by others; a delightful, culinary sampling of London's diversity. At least 10+ stalls, including vegetarian options. Pretty busy and lively during weekday lunch hour! The space is outdoors and is not covered, so bring an umbrella and/or coat as needed, and I didn't see a lot of place to sit and eat there, so it's mainly takeaway. Bathrooms: Not that I saw.

Amazing stretch of road with many vendors selling hearty portions of hot lunch with prices ranging anywhere from £4-£6.50. Fantastic pressed sammies layered with meats like salami, veggies, and chorizo, and made to order French crepes that are done up with quality marinated meats and sautéed veggies. Delicious and tasty stuff that you can pick up rather quickly and bring back to the office to nom or eat on the street. Other options include katsu, curries, mac and cheese, burritos, Thai and Indian box lunches, meat pies, paella, burgers, falafel wraps, and even an array of pastry desserts both home style (brownies and bars) and fancy (French macarons). Highly recommended for the casual and frugal eater looking for great eats in a jiffy. Super friendly people will answer questions rather patiently, especially if you have dietary restrictions. Rain or shine, they're all out there serving up delicious stuff with enthusiasm.

Oh Whitecross Market, as Jennifer Hudson would say: "I love you I do" (Dream girls reference). I have known and been a frequent visitor of this market for some time now and still enjoy it just as much as I did day 1. It is located perfectly between Old Street and Barbican which allows both City and hipster types to unite for lunch Monday's through to Friday's. As you walk down the street your mouth will instantly start to water out of anticipation for what you're about to eat - no matter what stall you choose you are in for a treat I assure you! There's Indian, Mexican, Italian, British, Turkish - basically any type of food you could ask for and all the stores are independent and local and serve fresh food made daily, right in front of you! My personal favourite is the burrito stall, you can't miss it as its a big blue van! The guaca there is just to die for! If you live/work in this area and haven't been here yet, I recommend giving Pod a miss and heading round the corner for a decent meal. You won't be disappointed!

I stumbled upon this wonderful market by chance I was looking for a great Flat White at Fix . Really great! A street filled with food stalls , Spanish, British, Thai, Indian, Italian ...It smells so good !!!! The price is good for the quantity you get . I opted for indian food .. So.... good . Big box for only 8 pounds !! I really love this place . 5 stars !!

Yesssssssssssssssssssss!! I knew there had to be a magical place like this in London, but it wasn't until last Thursday that I finally discovered the rolling goodness of Whitecross market. Food carts, food stands, taco trucks, meals on wheels, roach coaches -- call them what you will, but coming from the cart-infused land of Port, where lunch on the go was as literal as it sounds, I couldn't have been happier stumbling upon this glorious street, and systematically eating my way through it. This is a must stop for any visitors to London -- hell, this is a must stop for me on a weekly basis! Italian cheese and charcuterie, authentic falafel, Middle Eastern vegan food, Portuguese savouries, luxury fairy cakes, and yes, even the mythical London burrito truck...

I stupidly wrote this about Leather Lane Market... when it was actually mean to be here. Congrats to Larissa G for spotting the deliberate mistake! Food glorious food, hot sausage and potato... Okay so the song doesn't quite go like that but seriously this is one of the most impressive selection of food stalls all in one place. It runs every day during the week and has mind blowing coffee, mouthwatering foods and a small selection of plants and clothing towards the Barbican end. The food here is actually 5 killer stars and my only issue which spoils the whole thing is seating. It's fine in summer when you can sit on the street but in winter you are left with a bit of a soggy bench to park your backside on. It's totally worth a wander down here now during lunch times. Gives you a real taste of the area. The best place to get food is a little Spanish stall. It sells a combination of all the best food groups; meat, potato and cheese. These come hot in a box with a wooden fork for under a fiver. Wow, I'm dribbling on my keyboard...

Such good food and so much variety. Most places take Cards and deliver on both quantity and flavor. I've tried the Brazilian flatbread stall, the monster sandwich stall, and a great wrap stall, all were very good.

I went on a cold, December pre-Holiday Friday lunchtime with extra-wet rain pouring down. And I still had a blast. Well, not a blast, but I enjoyed walking amongst the vendors (umbrella in place), and having the displeasure to select just one offering for which I can eat as a meal. What a conundrum. Fish soup? Indian? Burritos? Lasagne? So much variety. Only one stomach. Damn you cows, with your 8. I will and must go back and try a bunch of the vendors. And I'm guessing a bunch might not have been present this time of year/day. For those who like street food, this should definitely be on your "to try" list. Not fancy... just solid and a nice mix of offerings.

The only downside of come to Whitecross market is the seemingly impossible task of choosing what to eat. There's so much on offer, it's almost difficult to make up your mind. Today, I went for the Gozleme, which is like a Turkish meat roll. Calling it a roll is an understatement. Mine was the size of a newborn! It's packed with meat, haloumi, and salads. It was hot, tasty, and perfect to eat on the go. And it is just £5. Unbelievable value for money. I ended today's outing with a white chocolate cookie from Comptoir Gourmand. This is what a Friday feels like :-)

This place is such an amazing lunch getaway from regular restaurants. Fresh food cooked right away, straight in front of your face? What more can you ask for?! Lines are long, but doesn't that tell you how good these food are! Burrito is delicious, Thai food, Indian, Italian, Turkish, Mediterranean, even desserts such as cookies, cupcakes, meringue, and sometimes macarons. My favorite still remains at the salad lunch box. Small salad box is around £3 ish and large is £4.20, both comes with a piece of bread. Fresh out salad cravings...mM! Other than food stalls, there are also a stall that sells fruits and vegetables, flowers, and a stall that sells household items such as batteries, toothpaste, garbage bags...etc. Sometimes even used books. Also, there's a magazine stall on every Thursday and Fridays, selling archives and sometimes current magazines at £2.50 each or 3 for £5! Magazines range from fashion magazines to interior decor, mens health, playboy, cooking, etc. A good little treasure gem where you can find a variety of magazines under super reasonable prices. Oh, and they also sell greeting cards and miscellaneous stationaries. You're gonna be missing out this hot spot if you dont check it out, y'all!

OH MAMA. Didn't realise this market is so close to my work, which is actually probably a good thing for my general health. However, now I do know and I'm planning on eating delicious food for a fiver or less here at every opportunity possible. There's a big range of options - Italian, Indian, Thai, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Brazilian, burritos, hog roast, salad, giant scotch eggs, some kind of crazy chorizo raclette combo - I shall sample them all! I've already been to 2 cake stands. There's also a fair few places to sit nearby although probably they get full very quickly in good weather. I can recommend the Italian stall in particular - you can get a large carton with 2 types of pasta for £5. Good solid pasta, I really liked the lasagna, gnocchi and cannelloni.

So much variety and so many delicious food stalls to choose from. This place is great to come when hungry and just find somewhere that smells nice for a weekday lunch. If I had to guess, there are 30-40 food stalls with all kinds of ethnic and English food. You want an Indian curry one day and Thai coconut curry the next, but then Italian or fish and chips the following day? Whitecross market is your place! When you're done, head over to the park just next to the beginning of the whitecross market and have a sit on a bench or some green grass to eat lunch. When you're done, stop by the Giddyup Coffee stand to have the most authentic Flat White possible (lee, the owner, is an Aussie). Love this place even if it is a 10-15 minute walk from my work office.

Big fan of this Whitecross Market as it is the closest market from our office! Fun fact, I never managed to go till the end...I'm always tempted to order at one of the stalls in the first part of the market: thaï, bibimwraps & co. This time, I nearly made it to the center, when I saw that french "galettes" place...delicious salty pancakes from Brittany, stuffed with only good stuff: spicy chicken dices, mushrooms & vegetables, spicy on top! Next time, I might just start from the other side of the market haha.

This market is amazing. Tons of options that are all insanely good. It's really hard to go to the end without stopping and buying something on the way. Specific highlights for me are the French galette place, the Brazilian kebab, and the Indian serving Chicken tikka that is close to perfection. Go, you won't be disappointed. Plus, it's not even expensive; 5£ will do in a lot of places.

Most Understated Food Market Around! This food market has it all, from Burritos and Curry to Crepes and homemade soup and not only is everything reasonably priced but the servings are huge! One place I need to rave about is The Salad Kitchen 126. Definitely not your typical salad, they have a huge variety including apple and grapefruit, strawberry, balsamic and feta, they make everything fresh including the dressings and to top it off the guys are the friendliest most genuine people you could imagine! Bonus, they sell Ozone coffee which is incredibly tasty!

It's not an authentic French galette but who cares? it is delicious! One of the best food you can get on that market!

First time I walked there, it felt like heaven! So much food from allover the planet, and the prices are amazing! Highly recommended.

I happened to stumble across Whitecross market when I was at the Royal Statistical Society for a work event. We had a morning meeting before the event, and I needed some lunch, and someone knew about this street market, so I was really excited about trying it out. There are a ton of stalls selling food. I recognized some of them (Luardo's burritos!), but most of them seemed new and interesting. I walked up the long aisle of stalls, and the first time I went I finally settled on the Bi Bim Bap wrap. FREAKING DELICIOUS. It's messy as hell though, but damn I still think about it. I also enjoyed how the wrap isn't a tortilla, but seaweed, so it seems super healthy (although I'm sure it's not). The second time I went, I took the Tube and came for lunch. I mean it's just a few stops down the Northern line, so it's completely doable, right? I went to one of the Turkish stalls doing wraps. And I definitely had to do it with the lahmacun (because I love them) wrap with the lamb meatballs. The meatballs were a bit dry, and next time I'll ask for extra hot sauce, but it was damn tasty. Why did it take me so long to find out this place was here? I mean it's not that far, and I do sometimes have to come to the area to buy my coffee for home and stuff. So I'll make sure to do that over lunch and come over here to get something delicious first!

I saw the most gorgeous hunks of roast pork belly this morning in my life as I was semi lost on East City Street. So I walk past this shop with these hunks of pork cooked displayed in the window... The door was open and I walked in. Asked the chap if I could buy a piece. He said oh no, our store Yumbo, opens next week. I said okay, so what are these pieces of pork doing here now? He said we are getting ready for sale at the Whitecross Market down the street everyday at lunch time. So I hunted them down at lunch. Actually I bumped into the same gent and he recognized me and brought me to the Vietnamese St. Food tent. There were the gorgeous hunks of meat. I purchased about a 12 oz. hunk for $7. Brought my prized pork belly to a local corner pub, 2 Brewers, to enjoy with a cold one. One bite and I saw fireworks and heard trumpets. It was as delicious as it looked. The skin was dead on crispy and crackling. The content of fat and lean pork was perfect. Very tender, like suckling pig tender? The bottom side had slight grill marks for yet another charred taste. To stumble onto great eats and drink like this is what being a foodie is all about. SCORE!

I'm half tempted to find the page in the quirky and cool London guidebooks that mention Whitecross St as a lunch destination and rip them out. I'll start with Waterstones, you hit Blackwells and the independents. It's either that or stand by tube and give intentionally misleading directions on how to get here. Because, frankly, it's busy enough as it is! And for good reason. There is so much to choose from, and you'd have to try pretty hard or be very unlucky to get a bad meal here. My default option is the burrito van, because for £5 you can get yourself on of the best in the city. The problem with Whitecross St is a serious case Fear of Missing Out (FOMO). It all looks, and smells, fantastic that your lunch cravings can't be satisfied by one trip here - you'll want to come back time and time again to keep trying it all; until you're lying on the floor smugly triumphant, food smeared across your face, and unable to do up your trousers. You have been warned.

The great thing about Whitecross Street market is that you could probably write 20 to 30 reviews on it (which is particularly amazing as it used to be a dive). On a Thursday and Friday the whole street gets taken up with stalls on both sides of the street with everything to make you want to skive off work. Anyway, my top tips: 1. Unnamed coffee cart - This is the same cart which migrates over to the flower market on Sundays. It is hands down the best coffee in London. Tellingly the person who runs it just won some national competition and is now officially the UK's best barista. Aside from the ribbing you can give them about being the best barista it is a great little cart and they seem to enjoy their job so much it makes me a touch jealous. I go every morning on the way to work, and if I can, for lunch as well. Every coffee is great. 2. Burritos - Very easy to find. Just go to the biggest queue and stand at the back. These are a slab of messy burrito joy. Go for the beef, guac and chorizo and try and wolf it down without covering your shirt with it. 3. Chorizo sandwiches - Just like those at Borough (and probably a rip off of them) but 90 million times slower. The dedication the guys who run it put into them is awesome but infuriating if you just want a quick snack. 4. The Vegetarian curry place (I can't remember the name atm) - This is the second largest queue and well worth it. Absolutely addictive vegetarian curries. Quick tip - only ever order a medium as they are massive. 5. The homemade pork pie guy - Normally only there on a Thursday or Friday he sells homemade pork pies of different varieties. They are impressive and tasty. The best bit is the yolks are still soft when he cuts them in half. 6. The falafel stall - What you would expect. Tasty. 7. The various cake stalls - They will make you fat.

Stream-of-consciousness at the southernmost Asian (read: Indian) food stand: Boy, it sure smells good. What's with the long line that's not moving? Ooh. £4.50 for a chicken tikka masala biryani (large only). I like large. And I like cheap. Uh oh. It looks like they're out of the biryani. At least... I'm not -obviously- seeing any. Wait. They're laying out a bed of steamed white rice. And now they're ladling chicken tikka masala all over it. I have to wait for them to make biryani from scratch?! Now they're dumping seasoning all over it. And more seasoning. And some more seasoning. I wonder what spices those were. I didn't know white sauce went into biryani, but it's starting to look reaaaally good... Yes, yes! Pour more of that chicken tikka masala juice from the other grill all over that rice. Nom! Yes, I'll take mine with some mint sauce, please. (I have no idea what sauce options there are, but that's what the guy in front of me ordered, and it sounded good). Woo! Biryani! -------- Noontime on a weekday results in virtual gridlock here. Ogling passersby and oversize prams don't help the situation, either. However, if the food is worth both the trek and the wait. I mean... a legitimately spicy (like, nose sweat-inducing spicy) biryani in volumes suitable for two meals (or two people) sure leaves me with some warm fuzzy feelings toward Whitecross Market (and in my belly). P.S. Come with exact change. If you don't, you might not get change back. Awkward...

Just great. A whole street of food trucks and street food vendors ranging from Indian (several to choose from), burritos, Turkish, Brazilian, British, Spanish, Thai, vegetarian, pig roasts and other MEAT stands, baked bread and cakes and probably many others too. I went for a biryani with 3 curries but didn't take note of the name of the food stall (note, make your names more prominent!) Maybe it was the same place Kevin went to in his review since I chose the medium size for £4.50 and it was huge and pretty tasty and hit the spot. In fact, a point to note is the prices which tended to be in the £4 - £5 range which in my book is where it should be for street food, for God's sake... Compare with slightly more snooty Exmouth Market which tends to a higher price point but I think the food on offer in Whitecross market is just as good. Next time I'm going to the Green Goat fish food truck since it was on TV the other day and looked pretty exciting (just felt more like Indian today). Might revisit the rating upwards after a second visit....

Wow. I love food markets, but Whitecross Market sets the bar that bit higher. Your average food market in London is typically composed of 8-12 stalls selling a basic variety of food from across the world. Whitecross Market has an amazing line of perhaps 30-40 stalls proffering food the likes of which I haven't seen much at other food markets: freshly served portions of steak and kidney pie, Indian food wraps, salt beef bagels, spit roasted meat, Asian food and a huge amount of sweeter stuff (most notably food market regular and supplier to Harvey Nichols, cookie and cake stall Galeto). One thing to bear in mind is that the size of the market increases as the week progresses, so to see it at its most impressive, you might want to go on Friday or Saturday. Still, this is well above average for a food market, enough to cause me pangs of regret over being based so far away to the south-west.

The Whitecross Market is super small. There were only about 15-20 stalls but there was a variety. Ranging from Japanese/Korean fusion, Indian, Turkish, Italian, coffee, sweets, etc. As per reviews on yelp and trip advisor, I got the chicken tikka masala from one of the Indian stalls and it was super bland. 3/4 of the plate was rice and the little bit of chicken I got only had about a spoonful of sauce on it. Huge disappointment. My boyfriend got the beef bulgogi bowl from the Japanese/Korean stall and it was tasteless. There was no bulgogi flavor, but the steak was cooked medium rare which was delicious.

This place is amazing, the whole thing is set up at about 11am and gone by 3pm. There's always a bargain to be had with almost everything coming in at about £5. You'll never be short of choice, with new stalls always appearing you can't get White cross Fatigue! MY personal favorite of all the vendors is the Burrito stall. For just £4.50 you can get a HUGE beef burrito and have it as hot as you like. If you do nothing else, make sure you come here. I would wholeheartedly recommend White cross street to anyone that can get down there.

Filled with lovely smelling food stalls, Whitecross Market tantalises the tastebuds of many an EC1 worker between the hours of 10am and 4pm (Monday to Friday, of course). As a whole, the food at this market is totally scrummy, as any non-scrummy food vendors will be quickly turfed out of their stalls. That said, I've never got anything from Whitecross Market that has made me want to strip off my clothes and promptly rub my body down with said foodstuff for the immense joy of consuming it*. This is the go-to place for lunch at least two times a week for me. The quality of the food that you can get there is great for the £5 most shops charge for a meal. It's a good mix of widgets and food - and though the widgets are fun to browse, the main draw is the food. Lots of different tastes mingle here: Thai, Indian, Turkish, Brazilian (their fish stew is amazing), American, and my personal favorite - the burrito place. I'm not playing down any other vendor, but my favorite has to be the burrito place, who sets up shop in an old camper van. The ingredients are fresh, the portions generous, and most importantly - the taste is great. I usually go for the veggie with chorizo, which has guacamole and meat for £5 (usually 50p extra for guac). You should be conscious of the amount of people that come to the market, so don't be surprised if you have to wait 10-15 minutes at peak times to get your burrito/falafel/burger. If you're here for the first time, make sure that you walk the entire street before choosing a vendor - there are plenty of tasty choices at the far end of Whitecross street (closer to Old Street). The one that pops to mind that I like is the two guys who've just stated a pulled pork stand - they used to do a mean fish, but changed to pulled pork recently - which is delicious.

I go here at least once a week usually. Great range of food and at a great prices too. My favourites are the falafel guys, he is so speedy! The veggie indian that offers 3 spoons of curry with rice for £3 bargain and the Sunny Olive stand where you can get a fairly weighty salad for £3 with free bread. Best to go earlier in the week as it gets really busy on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes. There is also a pub there that lets you take in food...brilliant!

What a treat! This is probably one of my favorite markets during lunchtime. It's down quite a nice pedestrian street like it's really busy as people lineup for the food carts. I would imagine too much time here and I would get really really really fat. When it is sunny outside it's a really great place to people watch as well. But when it's rainy there are also a lot of cafés and pubs to sit inside

Awakening! You know when you think you're living and then bam! It hits you there is some living that I haven't been living, and it comes in the shape of a Turkish pizza wrap. Chicken, lamb, salad, halloumi, salsa and hummus all wrapped up in a flat bread baked herby, tomatoey goodness. Buzz buzz buzz the busy suits, hover area looking for the best buy to fill their fat cat tums with tikka or teriyaki. Boiled, fried, steamed or baked they have it all. Winding queues weave a lattice, in and out, up and down. Where will it stop nobody knows. Deep breath, drink in the scent of spices dancing on the air. For a moment don't rush, take that moment drink it in and enjoy the many flavours of Whitecross Market.

As a food market White Cross ticks all the boxes! A fantastic range or high quality street food. Definitely a go to spot to grab some lunch. I had the Korean Beef box and it was delicious, followed by a fresh salted caramel and chocolate tart and fresh raspberries, how could you ask for more?!

I first went to Whitecross Market two years ago and after a hiatus I've started to return. It is definitely a place to go in warm/dry weather as part of the appeal is heading to the park to scoff down the great food. The whole street is filled with various stalls ranging from Indian food to Mexican and is usually packed with a strange mix of City professionals, Media types and Shoreditch hipsters. My favourite stall is the hog roast, which I only ever remember seeing on Fridays (it may be there on other days) where you can get a generously filled roll with crackling too, for £5 there is not many better meals in the City at lunch. My only tip for the uninitiated is to buy a drink from one of the shops before eating.

If there were an annual awards ceremony for London street markets, Whitecross would walk away with two categories: 'most improved' and 'least well-known'. It does seem this bustling alleyway is only known to the local builders and cabbies stopping in for their sausage sarnies, plus the office workers from the surrounding buildings who descend each lunchtime. I have a few favourite stalls, including, but not limited to, the bratwurst dude (does a mean currywurst), the Veggie Table crew (and their delicious haloumi burgers), Luardo's fajita van and Gastronmomica's range of delicious Italian cheese and breads. Did I just repeat the word delicious twice in one sentenc there? A sign surely... I feel it's only a matter of time before more people cotton onto the pleasures of a lunchtime mosey down Whitecross...

I seriously adore Whitecross Market. I am very happy to work right near it. My favourite things so far: 1. Buddha Bowls: brown rice, fried kale, curried veggies and seitan, and seeds to top it off. The woman who works there always seems happy. 2. Thai food from the vendor in a truck. The veggie pad Thai is far superior to the chicken one, not sure why. 3. Huge cookies from a French bakery stall. If you are ever in this area, it's worth hitting up immediately.

I'm in London 4-5x a year for work. Last trip was last week. On Monday, we walked over to grab a curry. It was magical. We went back 3 more times that week. One of those trips was to the wild game stand. I've never had venison before, but thoroughly enjoyed a venison burger with cheese and streaky bacon, cooked to a perfect medium. On another trip, had an amazing sandwich made with various cured Italian meats. WAY better than anything similar from a NY deli (where I work 2-3x a week). The other was a trip to the burrito truck. Magnificent! What are you waiting for? Left foot, right foot, get over there.

What was once an occasional couple of times a week thing, some years back, has now become a regular fixture. Lots of duang quality eats here- although I note, over the years, some of the oddities have dropped away ( there was an Albanian food stall for a while), in favour of a standardisation on a few food tropes - regional Indian, Thai , burritos, etc predominate, which is understandable given the lunchtime slot and the combination of Hoxton _gag_hipsters and fringe-of-the-City types who flock here. A great place to eat on the hoof, all round.

Excellent choice for lunch at the city of London. Very diversified food from many different countries. It made me want to try all of them. I chose the Brazilian tent and was not let down. I had a small feijoada. The dish was really really good. It was a large portion and even came with farofa.

This is a fabulous place to be. A smallish food market, open from 10:00 am til 3ish, along quiet, comfortable White Cross Street. You can stroll along for brunch, lunch or snack items, very cheap prices for very great value and the loveliest people. You can east anything from massive, East European sausage sandwiches to Vietnamese stir fry. My favorite however is (surprisingly?) the little juice stand with fresh pressed veggie/fruit juices, - because that is where you can get a condensed amount of vitamins and minerals for 2-3 quid, that you still need (this entirely from a nutritional viewpoint) after all the other schmatz stuff, however: nothing ever against a mountain of carbs! People are down to earth and sweet. Good life! Go there, be happy!

I happened to be working on Banner street recently and was lucky enough to come across this market... OMG it's like a wonderland for food lovers!!! There are food stalls and carts all along this narrow little street from one end to the other FULL of different types of enticing warm/sweet/aromatic delights! I never knew such a place existed in central London. You could literally try out a different cuisine every lunchtime if you are lucky enough to be working near here!

What a difference a year makes. I remember when the street was being dug up, and walking down Whitecross was dreadful. Now, after the new pedestrian friendly street has been completed, there's more room to maneuver between the stalls. Comprised mainly of food stalls, there's hot servings of Italian, Greek, Falafel sandwiches, burritos, baked goods, vegetarian food, a couple thai and indian stalls. On Fridays there's additional stalls, selling trinkets and the like. Although there may be bigger markets throughout London, this is a great little market for locals or city workers in the area looking for a quick bite to eat during lunch. The market is open Mon-Fri, from 10am-5pm, though most food stalls start packing up from 2-3pm.

Wonderful street market with aromas from all over the world to tempt your taster! It was near impossible to decide but being on the hunt for the best falafel in London, I tried Hoxton beach falafel. It was indeed one of the best I've found in London so far, reasonably priced and quickly made! I love this market. It's a shame it's only a weekday lunch time kinda thing. The selection of street food is amazing and there are a lot of fresh and innovative food ideas that make any serious foodie salivate! Good options for gluten and/or dairy intolerances. Try the buddha bowl (stall at top end of Whitecross Street, near Old St) or a gluten free crêpe from the French crêperie stall. I promise that whatever mood you're in you'll find something you fancy. So much choice. 100% recommended.

I stumbled across this place yesterday, mainly because I was looking for it, after getting bored with the standard City sandwich shops and Wasabi! Firslty, I was impressed at the dreamy aromas coming from the stalls, as well as the variety, Lebanese, Indian, Mexican, Italian that there was, not to mention cookies/brownies etc. Yes there is a lot of variety. Missing Mummy K's cooking, I decided upon the Indian stall which smelt awesome, and for under £5, you can't go wrong with a wrap. Mmm.. The wrap wasnt AS good as I would have hoped/wished unfortunately (my mum will be pleased) as I felt it was kinda lacking that x-factor I was looking for. However, I shall be hitting this place up for lunch once a week for the forseeable future. Thai next week!!

Wow - what a revelation! I stumbled across this street market by accident on a busy Friday lunchtime. Apparently I've been missing out as there was hundreds of hungry people happy to queue for 10 metres at some of the most popular stands. And what stands they were! All covered by bright yellow umbrellas, the food stalls ranged from paninis, burritos and pork pies, to caribbean, thai food and fruit as well as old-style fudge that invoke your long-lost Nanna. Prices seemed to be medium - expensive for some of the more 'organic' or specialty foods. The tantalising smell of roasting meat and spices will draw you to the area to enjoy the food, odd book stalls and even odder people. There even seemed to be a stage set up for a weird experimental drama performance that sadly, I missed.

Love love love this market! You can come here for any type of food you're craving. All the people working the stalls are super friendly and willing to tell you how fab their food is, if you know what I mean. Favorites are the burrito truck, Greek salad, and falafel wrap. And everything is around 5 pounds or under.

The salad boxes are fantastic, lovely varied mix, super cheap at £3.50, and packed to the brim! An extra of cheese always goes down well!

Great street market for lunchtime pre-cooked food. The food market was initially only held on Thursdays and Fridays but is now there every day. About 20 stalls sell hot food (think Thai snacks, Organic sausage sandwiches, Vegetable thalis) and more sell cold food (Portuguese pastries, fruit & veg). There are also a few DVD/household good stalls like a conventional market, and a great coffee stall (serving some of the best coffee in London).
