First time here and came for a team lunch, as it out near our office in the hudson yards area. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese burger, with fries and it was delicious! Burger was juicy, bacon was crispy, topped off with sunny side up egg which made it more rich and creamy. Great spot when you're craving a burger and can accommodate large groups.

Very kind and attentive waitstaff. The restaurant was clean, inviting, and comfortable. We were seated right away. The food was just enough, we ordered a veggie burger and a chicken cheesesteak. The food was warm and tasted great. We really enjoyed the crispy fries and tots as well. The Arnold Palmers were good, well presented, and not too sweet. I would recommend Whitmans!

My friend and I went to Whitmans at 6pm on a Tuesday. Reservations were easy to make online. I would recommend making one because it was pretty popping! The ambiance is like a typical American joint, casual with occasional rowdiness from larger parties. We got the smash burger ($14), highline hanger burger ($16), bacon, egg and cheese burger ($15), and onion rings ($7). My favorite thing was the hanger burger. The burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare, which has been a rare thing to find these days. The meat was juicy and flavored well and the arugula complemented it nicely. Because the BEC and the smash burger have thinner patties, they end up tasting less juicy but still delicious! I was pleasantly surprised to say that the burgers are worth the price! However, I would pass on the onion rings the next time I return. The breading was not crispy and reminded me of soft shrimp tempura batter. There was also no flavor. Service was average. Our server did a check back and food came out quickly, despite the restaurant being busy. I would recommend checking out Whitmans if you are looking for a tasty burger and do not want to break the bank!

The silver lining cheesesteak is absolutely phenomenal. Complimented with cherry peppers, it’s the perfect blend of savory with pockets of spicy mixed in Paired with the sweet potato fries it’s a dynamic duo of a meal when visiting Hudson Yards. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable on the menu however once we’d received our food the service slowed down quite a bit.

We went here for lunch on a Friday. The place was decently occupied. What I liked about the place was they were able to make adjustments quickly. We wanted to have a chicken burger and they got us that although it wasn't on the menu. The house salad was good..! The mushroom vegetarian cheese stick was tasty. Overall, we loved the taste and the quality. Service is good as well. The restaurant has priced its items just right.

I read about how great their buggers were on Thrillist and they were right on point. There were about four burgers I wanted to try so my friend and I split two of them. We went with the Whitman Smash and Highline Hanger burgers. Both burgers had their high points, with the Hangers meat and the Smash sauce leading the way. The regular fries are a great side and both burgers paired well with the Stella's beer. Our waitress was very good and the spot was a great for eating and people watching. Glad I tried it.

This was SOOOOOO yum!!!! The FRIED PICKLES IS A MUST AND A PICKLE MARTINI YAS !!!!! The service was great and inside was super nice !!!! Like rustic cool and casual I'd so go back after work!

Whitmans absolutely delivers when it comes to burgers. The meat is the real star incredibly fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor in every bite. We ordered a few different burgers, including the Juicy Lucy and the bacon, egg, and cheese burger, and each one was indulgent and perfectly cooked. The sides were just as satisfying: the onion rings were huge, crispy, and golden (slightly oily, but still delicious), and the loaded tots and fried pickles were great additions to round out the meal. We also ordered a pitcher of beer, which was on the warmer side icy cold draft beer would have taken this experience completely over the top. That said, the food alone makes Whitmans a must-visit for burger lovers in NYC.

Came here for lunch with a group of friends right when it opened for lunch and got a large table inside that seated 8 of us perfectly. Overall food and service was good. Salads, sandwiches and burgers, take your pick. Most of us ordered burgers - several options to select from. There is a menu special as well which is worth taking a gander at. Decided on the Highline Hanger Burger - which was good. Had 2 orders tater tots to share. Down East Cider was good as well. Food came out fair quick given we came early and wasn't too crowded yet which was good. They have 2 dessert options on the menu too but everyone was too full to have any. Will have to go back to try it another time along with other options on the menu.

We found this spot on yelp! It was a nice small place to grab a quick bite. The service was fast and friendly! The food was good and fresh.

Whitmans is consistently good--solid, reliable food every time. Had the Juicy Lucy burger and it was cooked perfectly, juicy and flavorful just as it should be. The Brussels sprouts were also very good, crispy and well seasoned. Not a place trying to reinvent the wheel, just doing comfort food right. Always a safe bet.

We loved this place! The fried pickles were out of this world - crispy like potato chips and the sauce they gave was incredible. Trust me, you should order this even if you're not the biggest pickle fan (like me). Service was great. The waiter checked in after each food item was sent to our table. We got the Juicy Lucy burger which was very juicy, perhaps a bit too juicy. The bottom bun was slightly soggy but it was fun to see cheese oozing out of my burger nonetheless.

I had a pretty good time with great company here the food was amazingggg!! I'm like ready to go back this weekend lol. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, I tried the hot dog that was delicious as well. For sides I tried the sweet potato fries, onion rings and Brussel sprouts. ALL were delicious. We didn't have a reservation but you can make one we waited about 15 mins before we were seated. Server was nice however he could have checked on us a little more. But overall great food, ambiance is casual, good place to get some good food. Looking forward to dropping back in.

Quick service, solid meal, nothing particularly special but if you want a real burger, casual, no bs, this is the perfect spot. Got the fired pickles as a starter, were good. Drinks were okay, the straws were weirdly short for the glasses. Overall good experience.

Great spot to get an above average gluten free burger near Hudson Yards! My kid approved and loved the chips. I tried the fried pickles upon recommendation (not gluten free). They are definitely made there with the right balance of flavor and crunch. I will crave those for days until I detox but I may have to get another order before I leave the city. Not the fanciest place in the area but the staff is friendly, the food is good and the location is perfect. A win in my back and in my rotation for when we visit!

Got drawn in by the wafting aromas of delicious burgers! They did not disappoint!! I got The hound with hickory bacon and Gouda with matchstick potato sticks, and the Juicy Bluesy with Bleu Cheese and cooked to perfection, medium rare!! The hand cut fries are TDF - very hearty. The Arnold Palmer is legit!! GO!! Stick to your ribs food!! Next time, I'm gonna try the cheesesteak.

We were across the street at a Peloton class and were starving when we got done, so we were thrilled to stumble across this place. The menu had a great selection of burgers! I had the Smash Burger - it was great! My daughter had the Hound and my wife went for the Patty Melt - they both liked them a lot! We topped it off with the milk and cookies which were yummy! Our server was very friendly and attentive - everything about this place was great! My only disappointment: I was hoping to buy one of the cool shirts the servers were wearing, but apparently then don't sell them :-(

If you are craving for some comfort food - burger, fries and a beer, this is your spot! Conveniently located right next to my office. Makes for a great spot to catch up with friends. I have only tried the vegetarian burger and chicken sandwich, with regular fries. They have a nice collection of beers and wines as well.

The food is nothing crazy, but I did enjoy the Kale salad and service! I enjoyed that the burger itself wasn't too oily, but the cheese in the middle was falling out while eating it.

I like this place. I've been a few times; once for a beer and burger tasting, another time for a whiskey and burger tasting and once just to eat with some friends. The two events I attended were fun and reasonably priced and the burgers are very good, as are the fries. Last time I went just to eat, I got a cheesesteak and it was amazing, especially the bread. It was so soft yet strong and the actual cheesesteak part of it was good. Service is always super friendly and they have a nice beer list. There's a lot to love at Whitmans!

After walking the High Line, my husband and I opted to drop into this Whitman location for a late lunch/early dinner. With two parties waiting for seating on our arrival, we opted to sit at the bar. We learned quickly that to accomplish anything at this location, you have to speak up. The staff will walk on by uninterrupted and continue with their work unless you directly ask them for something. This includes getting a table/seat, ordering, getting the check, and more. We sat for some time, the bartender locking eyes with us twice, never once asking if we'd like menus or something to drink. It wasn't until we initiated the conversation that we were able to put in an order for food and drinks. Group upon group entered the restaurant, stood around for a while, staff passing them by time and time again until one of the diners would ask to be seated. They seemed to have plenty of staff milling about so I am not sure what the deal was with this phenomenon. The food itself was around a four star experience. I ordered The Hound burger with an applewood smoked bacon infused patty, arugula, smoked gruyere, potato crisps, on a potato bun. It was smaller than I anticipated but very juicy. The $15 burger did not come with sides, tacking on an extra $6 for tater tots. The burger was good but nothing about it was over the top amazing. Overall, a pricier endeavor than was worth the end result. Great playlist though.

We dined at Whitman's before a show at MSG. Although we made a reservation for 6 on a Friday evening, we walked right in to an empty restaurant and were seated right away. The service was friendly and the food was great. The Bacon, Egg and Cheese burger was unbelievably messy and fantastically delicious! The BBQ wings were very tasty. I ordered a Sidecar cocktail but they had no Cognac on hand. That's the only reason I gave it 4/5 stars. Fun spot and good food.

The burger itself was excellent, the tater tots could have been just slightly more crunchy. The feeling I got after eating that burger was that they'll all be pretty good on the menu. Service could have been better, but there was also a big party on 1 side of the restaurant that took up a lot of attention. I'd go back to try a couple other burgers eventually.

This was a great place to land on a rainy Saturday with a seven year old. I had this place on my list based off reviews. I was happy to see they had a kid's menu that doubled as a coloring sheet. We split a chicken cheesesteak and the brussel sprouts salad. They also have a full bar and were showing the World Cup. The fries were excellent and everything else was very em, Notes: it would be great to have the kid's menu on your website. This would have narrowed down our search considerably. Also, while a beef cheeseburger, veggie burger, and grilled cheese are good options, the addition of chicken fingers would help bring in families.

The worst hamburger ever!! Whoever was the cook on Saturday 9/13 /2025. I give them 0 stars for their food!! we asked for medium rare burgers and got well done. Never will go back. McDonalds is far superior !!!

Everything about this little place is great. Start with the amazing service. I called and made a reservation for 6... ten of us showed up.... no problem... the staff just moved some tables and chairs. All of us are old and crochety with Dad's Dad sense of humor... no problem, they'll add this to the dish, take away that... and bring more of whatever you need. Everyone loved the food, and because of a recent heart attack... I had my first veggie burger ever. Best veggie burger I ever ate. I arrived a half hour before the reservation, the 10th person showed up an hour after the reservation. No problem. These guys are just wonderful.

Nice spot to grab a bite. A pinch overpriced however my food was really good. I found the staff behind the bar pleasant and welcoming. Both address you as you walk toward them and check on you while there. A+ customer service. I ordered the bacon and egg cheeseburger and fries. Burger and egg were excellent, made just right. The bacon had a little crisp to it. All packed on a potato roll. Fries were really good too. The decor and vibe was cool, not pretentious. Nice place for families or a couple of friends getting together. Would return if in the area.

We have eaten here several times and we almost always love our meal. We stop in whenever we are near. I always order the same thing, so unsure why occasionally the food isn't 5 star worthy (as it normally is). Because of this, I don't make the trip out specifically to eat here but definitely worth it if I am in the area. Service is always great. Decent ambiance.

Whitmans is known for its burgers, so I had to try its most iconic one: the Juicy Lucy. The unique part of this burger is that they stuff the beef short rib patty with pimento cheese so that it oozes out when you bite into it. As a cheese lover, this made the experience more tasty and interesting than usual. Apart from that, the other ingredients in the burger were very standard and the burger was not particularly big. The staff are friendly but not that attentive despite the restaurant being very empty on a Sunday night (which was a bit strange), though there was a good amount of pick-up orders. The interior is mostly clean with ample seating (indoor and outdoor seating areas). Overall, Whitmans offers decent sit-down restaurant quality burgers (plus some other American options), though there is not much in terms of atmosphere. I'd give 3.5 stars if I could but I'll round up to 4 stars since the Juicy Lucy was kind of unique.

Burgers were amazing! Located close to the high line and Hudson yards. We were seated right away and staff was friendly and helpful with their food suggestions. Draft beer was fresh and delicious. My boyfriend liked his burger topped with potato chips pairs with sweet potato fries. I thought the high line hanger burger was delicious!! It was flavorful and loved the arugula, their fries were good too. Highly recommend this restaurant as it's a short walk from the shops and their burgers are great!

I ordered through grubhub for delivery. I ordered the Bacon, Egg and cheese burger with provolone and the blue cheese fries. Delivery arrived on time. Food was warm. The burger was a decent size for $15 and for NYC prices. Crispy bacon, fried egg, slightly gooey yolk. Perfect amount of salt and pepper. Provolone melty. Beef flavorful. It was cooked partly medium and partly well done. I would order it again. The blue cheese fries were soft. I like my fries cooked more crunchy. Overall nice cut. The blue cheese they make is delicious. I tasted garlic in it. I just wish there was more of it for the fries than a tiny side container I got. They were $6. I wouldn't get them again. Maybe the fried pickles next time. But I'm full so goal achieved :)

Stopped in this place to rest and eat and the classic burger was great! The sauce reminded me of Shake Shack's and was phenomenal. The tots were crispy and perfect! The atmosphere was laid back and cute. It's not a super large place but it is clean and roomy enough for small parties!

Came in for an easy reliable dinner at one of my friend's local go to spots! I got the lamb burger, fries, and Brussel sprouts. Both the fries Brussel sprouts were nice and crispy. The Lamb burger had some good sauce & the goat cheese complemented it well. The waiter recommended the season Brooklyn Brewery Octoberfest Märzen Lager as a pairing. It was a nice thick, dark lager which complemented the gaminess of the lamb burger well. I can see why you'd come to this place when you're looking for a casual meal in Hudson yards! Reliably solid food & beer selection, this is a great neighborhood spot for a good burger or sandwich some some good sides & a drink

Looking for a good burger? Try this quaint place which has good selection of quality burgers for decent prices. I tried the veggie burger, onion rings and side of brussel sprouts. This place isn't too far from the Hudson Yards shopping mall and not is pricey as the restaurants inside the mall.

My friend and I were looking for places to eat, and we walked by this place saw friendly crowds sitting outside. We then check out the menu posted at the door; the menu price seems fair, so we decided to give it a try. Great ambiance inside the restaurant feels like a sports bar, but it can also be a quiet dining place. We need to scan the barcode at the table to find the restaurant menu. Which I love, so I don't have to touch the menu. Bluicy Burger: if you are a blue cheese lover, this is for you. Beef patty stuffed with blue cheese that exploded in your mouth when you bite into it....it was so good along with red onions, arugula, tomato, and pickles. Their sesame bun was also impressive with full of sesame. Fries: it's done just right. Not greasy at all, I think it's air-fryer fries. Very addictive, I can't stop eating it. An excellent place for burgers, and I will for sure to return.

Get a Juicy Lucy, you know you want to! I mean, who doesn't want the sensation of molten cheese oozing out of a patty as you munch? But actually I think a patty with sliced cheese melted a top does just fine. I think compromises on taste are made to achieve the cheese melted texture inside a structurally intact patty container. The caramelized onions, veggies, and bun come together to form a surprisingly average burger experience. Service was iffy, even in a fairly empty dining room. Beers were nice!

The burgers aren't the most filling but they certainly are tasty. Good cocktails. Great ambience.

I was excited to try this place when I saw the reviews. I made a reservation for a Wednesday night at around 8:30PM, but there were plenty of open seats. We were seated promptly and placed our orders for an East Villi Cheesesteak, a Lamb Burger, and a side of fries. Our order took quite a bit of time to come out, but I was pretty disappointed. Both dishes were nothing spectacular. The lamb burger itself was dry and came on regular hamburger buns. I'm surprised this didn't come with fries, so we ordered a side of them. Not sure if I'd try this place again, as it was just okay. If I were to come back, id definitely try a different burger.

For a place that's meant to specialize in burgers this place completely misses the mark. We got the juicy Lucy (the burger this place is famous for) and the Beyond burger and both were very lackluster. The buns were surprisingly cold, the burgers were tiny, dry and barely had anything in them. The fries had no salt and weren't good either which sucks because it's hard to go wrong with fries. Atleast we got to sit outside which was nice but would definitely not recommend this place.

The place was really nice and cozy, expect for the fact that it was chilly in there and the air appeared to be on. I give the water a 9/10 because the taste was good, nothing bad about it. It was really cold even without ice. What makes it a 9/10 is the small tiny glass. We got the bowl of local pickles and they were pretty good, no complaints. I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare with American cheese no toppings, but unfortunately it came out with all the toppings. We got a side of fries and onion rings too, in my opinion the onion rings were a tad bit spicy in my opinion. And the batter looks thick but it is not at all thick. The fries were alright, I personally am not a fan of that fry style but a positive was that they salty. The service was good, no complaints really.

When you order a drink from the happy hour menu, you're treated to a complimentary slider with your first round. This added a touch definitely enhanced our overall experience. Also, you're able to pick from one of their fabulous salads as a side/substitute for french fries when ordering a burger or sandwich. In summary, Whitmans is a hidden gem that lives up to its reputation. If you're seeking a cool dining experience that combines great food, a vibrant atmosphere, and top-notch service, look no further. Again, their happy hour is a must -- it's the perfect way to start a memorable evening at Whitmans.

The food always slaps. Crew is always a vibe. Drinks usually hit too. If they're slammed things can take a little longer, but it's all love. My favorite spot in a Hudson Yards. All of the burgers are delish. The cheesesteak is bomb. Fried pickles = yum. Literally the best Cobb salad I've ever had in my life. Ask me anything. I've had everything.

Easy going and no frills kinda place for a classy experience + food. Our burgers were seasoned to perfection. Great cocktails.

Whitman's is my favorite Burger in NYC That is Whitman's in the East Village! When i realized there was one closer to my Apartment i had to give it a go, after 3 visits i am sure the only thing this and the East Village location share is the menu. First 2 visits i ordered my burgers cooked Medium, got them WELL DONE! So my third and last visit i decided to compensate and order medium rare, I STILL GOT A WELL DONE BURGER!! So if you like your burgers Dry no matter what level of "Doneness" you specify l, this is the place for you. Food usually comes out cold, fries are good but you'll have a max of 5 minutes to finish them before they're hurrying you out the door. I'll just get the L next time to go to the original

The ambiance of Whitmans is casual and the staff was attentive and friendly. Their sides were decent especially the Grilled Brussel Sprout, Corn and Fried Onion Ring. The fried kale was crispy but too greasy. We ordered most entree options on their limited menu and our favorite burger was Highline Hanger Burger. The hanger steak blend patty was super juicy and well cooked. We don't recommend their grilled chicken which was kind of dry and salty. However, Whitman is a one-time try restaurant for us due to the portion which might not be enough for male and the inconvenient location.

Not bad! A friend and I were looking for burgers after some shopping at Hudson Yards, and decided to stop by Whitman's. It was pouring and we were hungry so here we are. We arrived around 4pm and found that the place was pretty much empty. We were seated right away and someone came over to take our order: 2 Juicy Lucy burgers and the peppers. Service was satisfactory and the food was alright. Not the best burger I've ever had, but definitely not bad. Good place to go if you're up for a quick bite. The interior is cute though, very diner-esque but just a tad fancier - pretty!
