I live near a number of Whole Foods but not a Whole Foods 365, so when we found ourselves eating lunch nearby, we took a pit stop to see how it was. For reference, it was a Saturday afternoon.
It certainly catches your eye - a new building with a bustling parking lot where you park on the bricked portions of the lot on 610. The building also houses Peli-Peli and Juice Society. We were in there purely to browse and browse we did.
The building is huge, bright, and clean. The fresh produce section is in a separate section that is refrigerated, which I loved. Prices were average though some were cheaper - especially if you're a member. There was a machine where you can print off a sticker for your produce for faster check out; I only saw one though. Fruit were next, but just outside the refrigerated "room". The display cases for refrigerated and ready-to-eat, prepackaged items looked normal but sported doors, which probably helps save electricity.
I briefly walked through a few aisles to get a glimpse at what they had to offer. Though they offer a decent variety of items, it's not completely all-encompassing. It had a lot of items that Whole Foods would also offer but displayed slightly differently with slightly lower prices (in general). Oh - they do have fresh pretzels here though, which your run-of-the-mill Whole Foods doesn't not have. Their labels are all 100% electronic.
Before we headed out, we stopped by Juice Society. It's a little shop by the entrance that offers health-conscious juices, smoothies, potions (read: interesting drinks with very interesting ingredients), and breakfast items like parfaits and smoothie bowls. The service was good and they offered to answer any questions we had. It also costs $$$. Most drinks dance around the $8-9 mark and their bowls are around $10 each. There were many items I was curious to try out and I ended up playing it a little safe and got a Crush Blush - a unique take on your banana-berry smoothie with a hint of rose. There were potions that featured mushroom powder and I sure do love mushrooms. After our large lunch... it was decided to pass for the time being. Our 12 oz drink came up to be around $10, but I loved it. There were the tart berries (maqui berry was in it too) and the banana but also a floral flavor from the rose water. No added sugars. Just perfect. Seeing as it's similar to how I make my smoothies, can't say I have anything to complain EXCEPT they either need a better blender or a wider straw. A lot of banana/berry chunks kept on getting stuck and nothing would come up. Can't say I love their prices either but as a once in a while treat when I'm in the area to try another one of their concoctions, why not?
Would I go out of the way to come? Perhaps not. However, if you live nearby or are in the area, I'm sure you could find fairly good deals and if you have a few bucks to spare, those drinks at Juice Society are definitely an adventure!
