Whole Foods Market

For some reason this is the worst Whole Foods I've ever seen. Pizza is always dried out and burnt. Food bar isn't maintained. And the selection is bad. Fried, greasy garbage. I just passed on the entire food bar. It all deserved to be in the trash can. And, the coffee/juice bar was closed at 12noon on Saturday. What the hell is going on with whole foods Malibu. Its been poorly run for years.

This is THE WORST WHOLE FOODS. What a joke! The staff never says hello, goodbye, nothing. It’s very strange and off putting. Management, I would advise you tell your staff to be friendlier, it’s very odd. Next… The pizza SUCKS at Malibu! Always old and fried! Much better at other Whole Foods locations. Next… Why is the coffee and smoothie counter ALWAYS closed? Last, (I could on and on) the paper towel dispenser is ALWAYS empty! Maybe add a foot door opener so we don’t have to touch the bathroom door handle every time. Get it together Malibu staff! 😡

Service at the coffee bar was extremely slow the first day I was here, and the second day there is simply no one here and a line of people waiting. An employee just showed up, prepared a drink (for themselves?) behind the counter without acknowledging the line, and then walked away. Poorly run store!

Perfect as always with Whole Foods. Anything you need and always fresh including meats and fish. 🐟 conveniently located in Malibu. Selection is impressive as expected.

Offers a wide selection of high-quality, organic, and specialty foods in a clean and well-organized environment. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, and the store carries many unique items not found in typical grocery chains. Prices can be on the higher side, but the quality often justifies the cost.

Has to be worst food bar in the entire Whole Foods chain. Why can't they fix the food bar. It's literally horrible trash. It's been horrible since the store opened. It's not maintained properly. And the selections are garbage. A lot of unhealthy trash. It's Whole Foods. How about some healthy options? A lot of fried garbage. Doesn't anyone at Whole Foods care?

The ready to eat food here is pretty good. They have outdoor seating and it’s near many shops and restaurants. It’s about 5 minutes walk to Malibu Lagoon Beach and 2 minutes walk to Malibu Country Mart. Most of these pictures are the surrounding.

Get someone else to run the hot food bar. EVERYTHING was burnt. Hard to burn EVERYTHING. The entire hot food bar needs to be thrown in the trash. And, it's a bunch of fried garbage. I got the potstickers (only thing not burnt) and they were inedible and I spit it out and threw them away. A total waste of money. It's always garbage. Why can't whole foods operate an edible hot food bar in Malibu? Ponderous.

The best WF I've ever been to. Immaculate, well-stocked, and the people working there are kind and helpful. One of my favorite things to to in the 'Bu is grab a sando and either sit at the tables in front of the store and munch while I people watch or take the sandwich to go and eat it on my favorite beach. I should also note that the sandwiches are quite reasonable, about $12 for the fully kitted out turkey wrap I grabbed yesterday. And of course, they have all of the other goodies you've come to love Whole Foods for, from skin care products to fruits, fresh sushi to baked goods and always great beverages. I do wish that there was more parking available on those hot summer days, but such is the price of living in So Cal. The lot was wide open on a Sunday in early April. Thank you, Whole Foods Malibu, you are essential.

Worst Whole Foods I've ever been to, staff and employees VERY RUDE! Couldn't believe how they treat customers, very toxic environment, steer clear of this place.

Very clean store. They have a great hot bar area and a huge outdoor seating area. Located across from the malibu country mart. Great deals with a prime membership. Still get some deal without prime.

Didn't know this was over here even though we're always down the street to enjoy Broad Street Oyster CO's amazing lobster rolls! We were looking for coffee in the area and they had a Blue Bottle at this plaza and that's how we found out there's an entire shopping center here with a Whole Foods. Stock was great, layout was different from our location but the thing that stood out the most were the desserts case with individual pastries! It almost felt like they loaded the fruit tarts more than they do at ours. Delicious and great spot. Parking is a decent size but surprisingly hard to find a spot due to the location. So many shops around and probably the only Whole Foods in the area so it took us a minute to find parking. Overall great location! Beautiful scenery and weather. IG: @ammysalamii

Harder to find anyone dumber or less helpful than a Whole Foods employee at the Malibu location. Any question will be met with a look of confusion and shoulder shrug of ignorance. And, they don't properly maintain the hot food bar, Pizza bar or juice bar. Juice bar usually closed. Its 3pm on Sunday and juice bar isn't serving juice or drip coffee. Expresso only. WHY? The indifferent and ignorance of Whole Foods Malibu staff is mind numbing. And, staff is constantly saying that they are understaffed. Why?

Customer service at sandwich department was the worst, Lady was facing me and didn't acknowledge or greet me, I said hello to her and asked if i can order from her, she just ignored me so i left, whats up with these snooty people don't work there if you don't want to help people or make food. no stars if possible, made me sad to deal with people like that when I'm just trying to order food and enjoy my Sunday

Please come shop in Malibu if you're a resident or coming in from Westlake , especially at the small businesses! But today I will be discussing how excellent the Whole Foods has been. As a fairly new resident, I have never had a negative experience at the Whole Foods Malibu. The customer service is always on point and they even have such a great selection of fruits and vegetables! And shoutout to the amazing Jeriah in the sandwich section, he goes above and beyond for his clients like myself every-time I come in. Managers, take note! He is a definite keeper! Anyways, this Whole Foods never disappoints. Will be recommending to all my new friends who move to Malibu going forward! OTHER MALIBU RESIDENTS - please go out of your way to support the other small businesses in Malibu too because it is still closed to the general public :)

Hot breakfast is inconsistent. Some times there is; sometimes there isn't. Coffee Juice bar... can't say; been here va 3x - it's been closed. Try to ask one of the 7 staff standing around and no one has an answer. Closed because there was a call out? Not enough staff possibly? What are all those workers milling around doing? Too bad. Store is nice but service lacking.

Passing by, I noticed this Whole Foods and decided to stop by their sushi counter to grab a quick bite. The selection was limited so I requested what I wanted and the staff made it to order immediately. I was super pleased with quality and service!

Review is only concerning the "Sandwich counter": Food:B, arrived at 12pm and the sandwich station was out of Aoli, tomatoes and pickled onions and after handing me the sandwich I had to hand it back because the sandwich maker forgot to include the avocado, so he reopened my sandwich and stuffed in the my sandwich so it obviously fell apart when eating it. Service: C, Train your employee! Cleanliness: A Value: C, reasonable priced but bad execution. Ambiance: B, fair

Came here to order an iced latte they were very short staffed and my drink took 30 minutes to come out. Horrible customer service. Management please ensure staffing levels are appropriate.

Just here to review the pizza! I do pizza almost every Friday night, sometimes I make it at home sometimes I do take out. I've had every pizza place around Calabasas already so decided to try Whole Foods to experience something new. They have fresh ingredients and the dough is the same I use to make my own so thought it would be pretty good - but it was a bit of a miss. I'm guessing it would have been better eaten right when it came out of the oven but it's a grocery store so wanted to take it home... We put it in the oven for a little to heat it up but still fell flat. The cheese and toppings kept falling off and the flavor was not horrible but not good. Would I get it again? No. But the dough they sell in store to make your own is great!

Maria at the juice bar has great customer service and works very hard to provide customers with juices and quality care. Unfortunately some customers are rather demanding but she handles their requests like a saint. I've seen some people not respect that the juice bar is closed for 30 minutes so she can have her lunch time and press her to make juices during this time. She is so respectful and courteous despite this. Respect her break time please!

Maria D. at the juice/smoothie bar is an extremely kind, dedicated, and certainly underrated worker. Her service was top notch and her effort too as she rushed around taking orders, making drinks, and cleaning with wonderful contagious cheerfulness. My only complaint, similar to a review below mine, is with the management not offering her any additional help in the form of a second worker. It is crazy that this nice lady needs to work so hard to do the jobs of 2-3 people by herself!

It's always friendly, helpful and Maria at the juice bar is amazing. We go often as it's no hustle, no big lines, friendly and delicious. It's fun just to relax after the day at the beach with good pizza and drinks from juice bar

This is a great new location in Malibu and much needed since there was not much in terms of groceries around. Bright and spacious store, well stocked and very appetizing set up. Great local products and plenty of easy parking.

Maria in the smoothie bar is the best! She makes great smoothies and is always friendly to me and other customers. I come back looking for her as she even introduced me to having beets added to my farmer's garden large smoothies! I highly recommend that smoothie and if you have her take your order you will be a happy cust

Maria D at the juice bar is amazing! She's extremely dedicated and on point. But management I find it abysmal that she's not afforded a second staff member. She's taking orders and working the cashier while having to make all the drinks as well. Give a a damn raise and more help Whole Foods. A lot of us come here SPECIFICALLY for her

As a Floridian, this Whole Foods was great compared to the ones we have at home. Great service and very clean store. They had great deals on liquor just in time for the holidays too! We don't get the pleasure to purchase liquor at our home Whole Foods so this was a great surprise.

Maria, one of the Barista's at the coffee bar helped us out with a drink we wanted. This lady was so sweet and polite she really made it pleasant to order and she asked how our day was, lots of people don't do that anymore. Thank you Maria for making it a pleasant experience.

Just like everyone else says Maria is such a wonderful person/worker, however this store is so incredibly wrong for only letting her work alone, she is so overworked and it's genuinely unfair and inhumane the line is always so long and I'm assuming it would be hard for her to use the restroom if she needed. This store is so understaffed it's honestly embarrassing for yall. I couldn't get a smoothie, and I couldn't get anyone at the bread counter because there's literally only like one person working. I hope you guys fix this because it's genuinely awful.

Brown butter cookie latte made by Maria D is SO GOOD. ITS AMAZING. She is such a compassionate and kind person. She asked us how the lattes tasted right when she gave them to us + asked if we had any modifications. 10/10! I just wish they had someone helping her out at the stand because she was working alone despite such long lines. She kept reassuring people in line that she would get to us soon. Despite the lack of assistance, Maria works so efficiently.

Maria D is an outstanding worker. She is very nice and does a great job at the espresso bar!!! She offers phenomenal service and is a very kind hearted lady.

We were at the store yesterday, Sunday, the Father's day, we went to the juice bar , there was only one person working, Maria D , very fast and hard worker , taking care of all customers. she was definitely doing more than what she was supposed to . And she was not allowed to accept any tips. On a day like that , there should be more people working on each shift, so people would get out faster. I give the 5 stars because of Maria D.

I witnessed the most amazing thing at the Juicebar. Maria was helping two gentleman, obviously pro basketball players. They were so taken with Maria her kindness and beautiful energy they both tipped with 100 dollar bills. She politely thanked them and handed the money back. The store rules forbid it.Her graciousness and glow can't be bought.The store is so lucky to have her.

Maria was the best! Awesome service and a great açaí bowl! She was very kind and put extra care into making our bowls.

Pastrami sandwich was good. However, be prepared to wait for a long long time. The two workers aren't well trained having to constantly look at cheat cards. They move slow and doesn't seem to multitask very well. If you have the time to wait, then it's all good. Otherwise, I'd think twice. I won't comment on ambience... it's Whole Foods.

I came in today for Amazon return. A man was doing the return was not a friendly person. He gave me an attitude when I told him the package he tried to put the sticker on after he scanned the code was not the right package. I never had this experience with anyone that works here before. I will continue to shop here and I hope I will a friendly service.

I bought me a green smoothie and it was really good and refreshing.The service was excellent the time I walk in she already greet very friendly.I asked to add ginger to my smoothie and she did so I offered tip but she don't except tip. Thank you Maria the smoothie came out good you shine up my day

Whole Foods in Malibu is truly a fantastic market with great quality, excellent selection of fresh produce, meat and fish plus all kinds of drinks from all over the world. Love their coffee, snack bar and their bakery. Most of the breads here are delicious. And worth mentioning service here is truly exceptional.

Ordered an Americano from Maria D. @ the Whole Foods' coffee bar. It was right on the money and I told her just that. I've been to coffee shops all over the world and there have been plenty of baristas that don't know how to make a perfect Americano. Definitely not the case w/Maria D! Maria D at the juice bar was the kindest whole foods employee i have ever come across. She has a very positive outlook and is almost always smiling. She works really hard as it seems she works as the cashier and makes the smoothies. I hope she is well appreciated by the whole foods management. Shes such a wonderful lady! This is the most hit or miss Whole Foods out there, but my last experience was great so let's go with that. Hot food bar was bussinnnn. Crispy chicken tenders, fresh chicken curry, and most importantly, the best Greek orzo salad. Also a fan of getting the tuna or salmon roll/nigiri combo. Extra fresh most days of the week. Produce is amazing quality for Ralph's type prices. Best pink lady apples I've had in a while.

Whole Foods in Malibu is excellent...immaculate store and service is great, especially Maria D. At the coffee bar... she is so sweet and works so hard. very appreciated!

Maria D was very kind to stay an extra few minutes before taking her break to make me a shake at the smoothie bar. She suggested an alternate milk option and the shake tasted great and was what I needed as I had no energy. Thank you for your kindness.
