I visited this Whole Foods early. There are two floors. A fresh fish counter is downstairs with items for baking, dry goods, and general household cleaning goods. There is a beauty products section downstairs too. Upstairs, the grocery selection offered different choices to other super, but at a price. There were lots of prepared salads and hot food available. Fresh baked goods and cakes were plentiful and with unusual variety - Angel Food Cake was tasty. The staff were approachable and very helpful including the checkout staff. I enjoyed my visit. Parking in the area is limited and the parking wardens are prominent.

Google
Its ok but things are heavily priced for no reason. You can find most if not all products in your average tesco or asda. They sell things by weight rather than just putting the price quite irritating actually. Store is visially quite boring to look at reminds me of a aldis or a lidl. Best part is the fresh fruit and veg honestly

Basil

Google
probably the biggest branch in the UK! It’s a great place for anyone who loves healthy, organic food. They have a good amount of vegan products, but honestly, they could do a little better in terms of variety. That said, be prepared to pay a premium because it’s definitely on the expensive side. Still, it’s worth a visit if you’re looking for high-quality food and snacks. The store is spacious, and the atmosphere is really nice, making it a pleasant shopping experience overall.

Great selection of fresh produce - huge selection of vegan friendly foods. Shelves are always well stocked.

Google
Whole Foods offers a great selection of fresh produce, organic goods, and specialty items. The store is clean, well-organised, and the staff are generally helpful. Prices can be a bit high, but the quality makes it worth it for many shoppers. I love it.

Google
Whole Foods Kensington is my go-to whenever I’m in the area. Always clean, well-stocked, and full of quality organic and specialty items. The hot food is great - steamed salmon is my favourite. The produce and bakery sections are excellent too, and I can usually find things here that aren’t in regular supermarkets. Staff are friendly and helpful. It’s not cheap, but the quality and selection make it worth it.

My favourite market in New York!!!! I’m very happy to see this market in London! Always fresh food! I’m very happy to have dinner here when I don’t have a time to cook! The best food court! Thank you so much!!! Good price!

Yelp
What can I say, this Whole Foods although quite "bougie" if I can use that term! And of course in the most positive light, it was quite a delight to see the difference in this WF and the ones at home. They had a full food court on the 3rd floor with restaurants (full service, sit and order) and ala carte type food where you pay in one place. We ate, then went shopping. I found some truffle potato chips that I absolutely loved and then while eating discovered why I loved them....they cost 10 pounds! Good Lord, but they were divine. We bought food for dinner...and it was all wonderful. London does Whole Foods well, is all I can say!

Yelp
Probably one of the bigger and better location of Whole Food in the UK. Having seen many locations already, this one is definitely worth an exploration. With two floors of everything one can possibly imagine, nothing can go wrong. There's a wide variety of produce, bakery goods, holistic items and home products. The employees are very friendly. Extra bonus is the massive kombucha section they have.

Yelp
Loved having it in London easily found items, staff helpful even giving directions. Food varied and fresh. Great location as well.

Yelp
When you travel for work for a living. Its always a must to try to find some place to procure sustenance when you're away from home. Specially something quick and easy. I usually come here for some good bread. Pancetta and cheese. Maybe a bottle of wine or two. Just so i can wrangle my jetlagged body to sleep at the end of the night. Sometimes i would go upstairs at their food court. Buy myself a slice or two of pizza. Or maybe a sandwich. Or sushi,,, or even dumplings. Whatever you fancy, they have it upstairs, ready for your mouth pleasure. This place is pretty good. Great locations, the shop is very well kept, plus their cashiers are very quick and efficient. I would continue to come shop here in the future. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!

Yelp
This location was in the center of London. it was similar to other WF in its products but unique in its urban location. It did not have its own parking area. Shoppers seemed to be limited in what they could buy because they could not load items into a nearby car. They seemed to have a larger area with prepared foods that could be consumed on premise or taken away to be eaten the customer's residence.

Yelp
I have always loved this store! Go early to avoid the holiday lines and social distancing during Tier 4 Lockdown

Linda R.

Yelp
The grab and go food selection on the street level is incredible. The food is fresh and great value. Many gourmet meal selections rather than sandwiches offered by competitors. Hot selections are good and make a fast decent meal. Good selection of salads and veggies. The only criticism is that the cake slices were a little dry.

Yelp
We fly here regularly and just found this supermarket including food court on upper floor. All my pictures show just some of their stuff. Price wide, I don't call them cheap but for those who can afford, they are very good. May be we call what we pay what we get and they have everything and. On eminent. I particularly want to mention a young man Ricardo, from Argentina who works at the Allegro Coffee store was super nice. He went out of his way to help my girlfriend to show her where to get a non-alcoholic beer, so I wanted to give him business. Then I observed that it's his kind personality to help other customers as well. A big thumbs up. I have no hesitation to come back when I fly here again.

Yelp
Definitely does not compare to the US stores--small, cramped, the fruit section is lacking--yes I know it's the dead of winter in a island country, some of the fruit was over ripe to the point it had dark spots--I would not see that at Whole Foods in the US. The cut fruit looked fresh, but the pineapple gave me a bit of a stomach ache. It might have been from the acid in the pineapple. That said, I was definitely happy to see it in London, since I could not find organic apples anywhere.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of Whole Foods Markets and this one has to be the most spectacular. Three floors! Located in a former London department store. Top floor is a food court and huge seating area with multiple restaurants. So many options! Loveddddddd!
google avatar

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE Whole Foods Market! This location is huge with three levels. The food is so fresh and delicious. My favorite ready to eat meal is the veggie burrito and tortilla chips.

Ri N.

Yelp
Nothing great about it, has a good selection of vitamins. I did also have pizza from their ready made section and sat in their eating hall and the pizza was good, much better than you would get at a pizza hut or most other pizza takeaway. The price was not bad either.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin. This store is something! They have everything and I do mean everything. This store is every foodies dream. The store is very organized and extremely clean and its 3 floors. Yes, you read that correctly 3 floors. Okay upon entry you're greeted with sweet smells of baked goods. Pastries, breads, cookies, the smell was intoxicating. I mean my eyes were falling out of my head looking at all the pastries. After I wiped the drool from my face, I was smack dab into the hot bar. Pasta, backed chicken, Indian dishes, soups, stews, veggies of every kind. I mean the variety is endless and too much to even list. Deli meats from everywhere can be found here. Nothing makes my mouth water than delicately salted cured meats. Prosciutto, Salami, ham, pepperoni - lovely. Right next to the deli you will find an array of fresh pasta, hand made in house. Displayed in a uniform appealing manner. Duck tortellini, black truffle tortellini and various ravioli - it is truly every carb addicts dream/nightmare. You can find wine on the ground floor the selection was endless. Who knew there are 30 varieties of Prosecco? And for those of you who love to test out various wines, guess what? You can do that as well. They have tables set up where you can test or order glasses of wine and beer. I believe the also serve food until 8 pm in the wine area. I never thought I would even think that Whole foods would be a place to have a coffee date...but it is! The wine area is casual, modern and quiet, no TVs here. Cheeses of all kinds are one of my favorite things to eat and again Whole Foods does not disappoint. When a grocery store has a room just for cheese, you know they're serious. Words cannot do this room justice, you'll just have to look at the pictures and take my word for it. The bottom floor is dedicated to dairy, produce, cosmetics, seafood and a bulk spice bar. I've never seen duck eggs in a store. Not only did I find them here but you can buy it by the piece. The top floor they have bar/lounge where you can relax. The only way to accurately describe the top floor is an upscale food court. Pizzas, smoothies, a few baked goods and so much more. It's a nice place to have a quick nibble before shopping. The rest: street parking is terrible and lot parking is expensive. Three hours in a lot was £ 21. Prices: somethings are expensive but worth the price for organic, locally sourced foods. They do carry a lot of gluten and dairy free foods and other specialty foods. Luckily I managed to get out of there only spending £15. A mecca of tastes and colours to feast your eyes and belly is the only way to describe Whole Foods. I would suggest going down and exploring the treats and smells that are offered. I know I will again.

Yelp
This is a Church / Temple for all things health and wellness. It's the ultimate supermarket for foodies or anyone with a cookbook that requires odd ingredients. My boyfriend required hazelnut oil for a recipe so we popped in for that and ended up with organic goose fat, organic onions and oranges, carrots and rye bread before I thought our shopping basket looked way too virtuous and added in a deliciously rich slice of rocky road packed with marshmallows, biscuit, cherries and walnut. The ground floor is all fresh produce and cheese whereas the basement floor has store cupboard ingredients and a huge section dedicated to high quality chocolate brands (ok I snuck some Montemuza choc into the basket too) The top floor is full of cafes inc the marvellous Bone Daddies, and it's a great place to kill time if you're in the Kensington area. It's not cheap, but there's a lot of choice - from salads and sushi to burritos. Anywhere that serves good burritos deserves 4 stars.

Yelp
Thank you, Jeff Bezos! Pair your Airbnb with this well-stocked and familiar bit of Americana grocery/ready-to-eat. No, it's not cheap, but relative to the host of mediocre restaurants in the area, it's a quick and healthier option which leaves more time for seeing London. Very good wine selection. Mediocre beer and craft ale selection (stay in the US if you want a really good IPA). Good breads and pre-made salads. Easy checkout. Apple Pay.

Yelp
I had been coming here pretty frequently to grab food and I've never had an issue. Last night, I got one of their poke bowls, and now I have food poisoning. I was up all night with horrible pain, and I can't even keep water down. DO NOT GET THE POKE. Never have I ever had an issue with poke from any other place, even larger grocery stores like Whole Foods. This made me never ever want to eat poke. So anyway I really liked this Whole Foods till their product gave me food poisoning. Don't make the same mistake.

Yelp
Whole Foods boasts five locations in London. I moved here determined to live near one. And thanks to a two month sublet in Kensington, I got my wish: the gilded aisles of this massive food emporium were but wee steps from my bedroom. I could spend hours here browsing and after a couple of visits I quickly realized that the tariff, pretty much without fail, would never be less than £40. The staples of the American life I left behind can all be found here: from 365 every day value refried beans to Amy's pot pie with organic vegetables and cheddar cheese sauce. The largest of the London locations, this store has a huge Whole Body with every lotion, candle or shampoo you could want for, an expansive chocolate counter, an entire restaurant floor - replete with sushi, juice and salad bars, gelato, almost any food you can imagine - and a cheese room. Sure, there have been the occasional missteps, like the guacamole made with olive oil (why!?) and the inept burrito maker on the top floor. But oh the good this store has brought me - from delightful banter with the cashier to the purchase of housewarming presents, it always makes me happy. I even met a couple of new friends when I interrupted their smoothie slurping and World Cup watching! "Are you homesick?" they asked, "Is that why you're in Whole Foods?" Not so much, I admitted. Thank you Whole Foods Kensington for making my landing in London soft, but absent of trans fats, and sweet without high fructose corn syrup. Coming home late from work your green light welcomed me like an old friend. Now I'm moving from W8 to EC1. I'm striking out, to a life without Whole Foods nearby. But I know you'll be there, just a tube ride away, if I need a little pick me up (and don't worry I'll bring at least £40 for the pleasure!)

Yelp
During my week stay in London with my wife we rented a flat off of AirBnB in Nottinghill. Since eating out for every meal can be exhausting, we stopped by Whole Foods for some essentials and some not-so-essential snacks. We originally were going to try out the local grocer but once we saw this giant mecca we knew it was too convenient to pass up. Wholey Cow this place is magnificent. It's probably one of the best Whole Foods I've ever been in. When you first walk in there's an expansive selection of sweets and breads straight from the bakery. Their bread selection and price is wayyyy better than anywhere in America. In fact, this place got me re-addicted to carbs. And yes, everything else was great. We picked up plenty of cheese, champagne, digestives and other snacks. But seriously the bread alone was worth it.

Yelp
Ever hear of Thirsty Thursdays? No? Ha Ha! I'm a little reluctant to share but here goes. On thursday nights they have a wine tasting paired with food prepared by the restaurants of Whole Foods for.... Wait for it.... £5. On High Street Kensington! I know right?! You'll only get maybe an ounce of each 5 different wines but the wines we tried ranged from £15 to £19 per bottle and the food served were of Whole Food quality. 2 were from the restaurants on the top floor and what a great introduction to their eateries. They have an Asian organic vegetarian restaurant upstairs, a wine bar, shabu-shabu place and a few other I can't remember. It's my new favorite spot on Kensington. I'm a light weight so by the end of the tasting I was buying things from the store I didn't need and now I'm wondering what to do with Spelt flour. (Details: Thirsty Thursdays from 5-8:30 for £5/ person. Pay at the entrance and pick up your glass with tickets.)

Yelp
The first time I went to Wholefoods was in Atlanta, US. I was speechless, overwhelmed and over the moon. Although the local Fresh & Wild chain here still retains their name, they have been bought out by Wholefoods and the signature store in Kensington is a massive beacon shining on the rocks of new age organic shopping. The shop is totally posh and here it's all about choice. Hundreds of varieties of cheeses, olives, breads - you name it, it's here in absolute abundance. You can even grind your own peanut butter. I am ashamed to say that I do love shopping here. Everything is so clean and ordered - far away from the real organic experience of wet soil and dusty potatoes. The mega salad bar caters for every taste and upstairs is the cafe restaurant area where I had the most unbelievable honeycomb caramel ice cream. Somehow I doubt the Old Kent Road won't be home to the second store, which is just as well, as I don't have a credit card big enough.

Yelp
On holiday we spent £200 on produce. WF offered to provide free delivery within two hours. Three hours later we call to inquire about delivery time, to which they responded the delivery had been made and signed for. After sending an employee to verify we were not trying to defraud WF they agreed to shop our original receipt and deliver. Meanwhile I determined they dropped our goods at a neighbor's. Three hours later still no groceries. I called for an update and to inform them I found the original delivery at the wrong residence. Waste of money and holiday. Poor. They offer no regrets either. Terrible service. Shameful.

Yelp
This place is the mecca of grocery stores. I was in London on a research trip and staying down the street at the Hilton Olympia in a tiny, uncomfortable, and shabby room. I was traveling alone and don't particularly like eating dinner out alone. This Whole Foods mega-store was my oasis. Really, it was everything I treasure as an American: big, clean, and over-abundant. This Whole Foods is more than a grocery store. Upstairs, you can also sit and have a latte, drink at the wine bar, get a smoothie, or eat a plate of sushi or tapas. There was some sort of celebration/ extravaganza going on when I was there one evening with glasses of wine and free samples. I don't actually even tend to go to Whole Foods when I'm at home in the US--for me, Trader Joe's and farmer's markets are more affordable. But considering London prices, Whole Foods really is okay. I managed to pick up a dinner from the soup/salad/side/ entree bars for 5 pounds.

Yelp
I want to live here. I don't know how to describe it. this is absolutely the Uber Whole Foods. massive and amazing, with a food court, coffee bar, sushi bar, vegetarian/vegan cafe, wine bar, and a fantastic loungey area with comfy chairs, blazing cold A/C, and a nice view of Kensington High Street on the top floor (and free wifi!). ready-made hot and cold food to go, bakery, cheese, wine, household stuff/gifts, and more on the ground floor. you could really spend all day - not to mention all your money - in there wandering and eating. gluten free people, this is the promised land. a happy note that Genji (the sushi people - at the food bar on 0 and at the actual sit-down upstairs) offer gluten-free soy sauce upon request. my sushi (brown rice & salmon maki) was delicious and fresh. there are about a billion other GF options, both grocery-wise and readymade food wise. Saf, the veg cafe upstairs, offers numerous GF options. no shortage of choices.
google avatar

Yelp
I love, love, love Wholefoods! Even if there was a Trader Joes here, I'd probably be a tart and love them both equally. I went to buy some fancy cream recently and the price at the tills was higher than that displayed on the shelf - and they insisted on giving the whole expensive thing to me absolutely free. This is what customer service is about. Honest to god, even browsing here makes me so dang happy! x
google avatar

Yelp
I am kind of forced to give this place a good review because, omg~ it's WHOLE FOODS! I was really surprised to find this when I was in London, simply because I have always thought of it as such an American creation (born out of Austin, TX no less!) and I loved seeing all of the different varieties foods you don't find at a US Whole Foods here in London. I liked the store a lot because it was very large, the selection was great, and so any unique things I have not seen before. If I lived here, I would come shop here every week! Although I'd probably be way broke too ... The food court was pretty awesome too, some familiar offerings but also some really unique to London offerings such as huge huge made to order salads. They even have a desserts area with almost all the desserts you can possibly think of. I could live in here!
google avatar

Decisive M.

Yelp
Spend everything in your wallet because nothing is cheap. Much much smaller than typical American stores and not even close to the selection. The cheeses are always the same; the head of it's department is so rude, he refuses to order anything special and unless your French will give you bad service. I think the best place inside the store is the produce. The fish is so overpriced it is astonishing and you can get better at other fish mongers or local markets. Great selection of nuts and teas. Vitamins are better than H&B but pricey. So yay.
google avatar

Mari B.

Yelp
This Whole Foods was quite nice. Huge Large selection of foods. Large chocolates section. Excellent food court! Lots of variety including a coffee bar, dessert bar and gelato bar! It's not a cheap place but where in London is? They also have a wine bar and areas where they sell food, they also sell alcohol too- which is always nice. I loved the walk here from my hotel. The frozen foods ie: ice cream (one of my faves) was freezer burned. I'll be back when I am back in the UK.....someone pls invite me back to the UK!:) Nice bathrooms too....well, OK bathrooms I mean

Yelp
Whenever I need something different, hard to find, or unique I know I can almost always find it at Whole Foods. Going to Whole Foods isn't just grocery shopping, it's an experience! You could walk around just looking, your eyes getting wider and wider as you pass each aisle, completely forgetting what you came into the store for. The best part, if you are feeling overwhelmed you can go to the restaurant and have lunch or enjoy my favourite, cinnamon hot chocolate! Once you have had a moment to regain your senses and tackle the store again there is no limit to what you can find. If you are having a hard time finding something ask for Linda! She is amazing, yesterday see devoted herself to answering all my questions and even went with me from the produce section, which is downstairs to the bakery, which is upstairs, to help me find what I need. Now that's what I call customer service!!! In Whole Foods I can exotic mushrooms, fresh meat and fish, cheese, wine and if I don't feel like cooking a take-away buffet. Everything you need you can find here and if it's not in Whole Foods, you really didn't need it anyway!!!
google avatar

Briona L.

Yelp
This Whole Foods is lit! Not to be a hater, but it's way cooler than my hometown one. oops. The entire upstairs is a food market with ALOT of different food to choose from. I saw Mexican, Asian, Chicken and so much more. I ended up getting a bowl from Work St. It was pretty good! It's assembly style bowls. Pick your meat, Pick two veg, Choose your meat and add toppings. I went with a chicken bowl with eggplant, mix veggies, curry sauce and garlic on top. It was quite delicious, but could've used way more sauce. Besides the hot food, of course Whole Foods has everything under the sun. You cannot help but to buy everything here. Don't come hungry, you will leave with a lot less $$ than you came with. lol. Trust me.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
Whole Foods is a great place to shop if you don't mind spending the extra cash. I typically go to Sainsburys and Waitrose, but I will head over to Whole Foods every 4-6 weeks in order to stock up on organic stuff. It's such a great store, I just wish it wasn't so expensive compared to the non organic stuff you find elsewhere. Why does organic food have to be so pricey? Pros - An amazing variety of organic products, high quality meats and cheeses, and lots of hard to find international items, fastest Whole Foods lines I've ever seen, great customer service when you need it.. Cons - About double the price of non-organics you can find at any supermarket.
google avatar

Yelp
It breaks my heart that this splendid homage to foodstuff with all the grandeur it lends to common grocery shopping is losing money. How can you *not* fall in love with this place? From the inspiriting seasonal displays that inevitably await you when you first walk in, to the tempting pyramids of baked goods, to the most resplendent takeaway salad bar in all of London - I have been won over as a diehard Whole Foods shopper and fan. If you haven't explored downstairs, you've missed the exotic assortment of coffee beans that you grind yourself there on the spot (I'm partial to the heady Kenyan and fruity Guatemalan blends), and the great bins of bulk dried goods (so you can bag just the right amount of everything from cereal to lentils), and the gourmet meat and cheese counter with its plethora of unusual delights - sliced to your exact liking. All this, and there's still too-many delicious-looking readymade food options upstairs, if you wander up there you start to wonder if you should bother to cook at all. There are also periodic special events... from Christmas sampler tastings to your more traditional wine and cheese affair. While it has come under fire for some missteps, I believe Whole Foods does do its best to source locally and deal with ethical and humane food providers. The best part is it manages to do so while providing a fun and polished place to shop - I don't think any other grocery store in London quite matches their high level of enthusiasm for food and tradition.

Yelp
Wholefoods has it all.. The best products. An array of food counters to eat in store. High price tags to go with. Seriously though, name any product and it's here. I love trips to wholefoods, as the aisles are full of products you don't see in an everyday supermarket and there's always samples to try and discover something new. This review falls down mainly because the serving staff were totally clueless when it come to taking my order. I tried to order a jacket potato and it took 3 people to explain what toppings were on offer. I finally got advised, but even then it was you can have one main and two side fillings, which confused me further in all honesty, as there was no lists of toppings or anything.. Boo! Aside from the poor service experience, this place is cool, you should check it, if you're in the area. Ps I hear the burritos here are very good...
google avatar

Farhan R.

Yelp
This place is V. pricey, for most of the ready made food, but I guess the quality is pretty good.. Again, eating only Paleo is a little challenging, but you can find yummy things to eat! Just don't plan on spending anything less than a tenner for a meal with a drink :)
google avatar

Rosanna H.

Yelp
Ethos needs a check. Unfair dismissal for employees. Lots of food waste at end of night could be counterbalanced by discounting their food towards the end of the day like other food companies so more people can enjoy it.
google avatar

Yelp
Welcome surprise to any American abroad! Selection- as good as my hometown Whole Foods...plus more :) Price - Similar, if shopping in WF anywhere lowest prices aren't goal Cheese shop - fromage, etc...amazing and they will vacuum pack for preservation if needed Do it! Visit this shop and make a lovely meal or 2 at home or hotel or Airbnb

Yelp
Foodie heaven!! I love the juice bar and food to go section. And the prepared Guacamole, the Cookies, the rolls...... Restaurants at first floor are great too.

Yelp
When I worked in Kensington many years ago, this building was a department store. Much as I liked the department store, having visited Whole Foods a few times on visits back to the area, I really wish this place had existed then. I absolutely adore this place and spend hours wandering around. Yes, it is a little pretentious and expensive, but I still love it. It focuses on organic and healthy food, with a wide range of gluten, sugar, dairy free products, which is great for people who want to do that. They also sell organic and eco friendly health, beauty and home products. I've seen some really odd products, and bought them! I've seen products that I've not come across at organic shops in Manchester, and bought them! Every single time, I spend a small fortune, usually in the grocery section and the hot food counters. If I lived in London, I'd definitely come for fresh food as it looks great, especially the veg. Oh and the spices make my heart sing. Today I had a spare few hours and strolled around Kensington, and came in here of course. I spent £13 on some mustards, chutneys, some matcha blend tea bags, raw chocolate bite things and some sachets of cacao/green tea drinks. It is a lot considering you could get mainstream products for less, however, as someone who likes trying different foods and who is conscious of being more ethical in my food purchases it's perfect. For anyone reading this from Manchester, Eighth Day in Manchester has a similar range/type of products though is a much smaller store so Whole Foods have a wider selection. But it is that sort of place. Highly recommend this place, even for tourists down for the day, there are still things you can buy to take back home.

Yelp
Forget Valentines, Wholefoods is my new crush... Just moving to work in the area I get how this place is so addictive. I go most lunchtimes as there is usually a few tatsy things to trial. They also do great events - I went to the recent wine and chocolate pairing = yum, yum! People really get confused and think this is an expensive store, and in some ways it is however it's expensive because the goods are high end, if you price compare with other places (such as waitroise who stock some of the things here, but completely lack the range), it's on par. Things however that make wholefoods stand out are: The high level of quality of produce and brands Grind your own peanut / nut butter Stocking uistanable brands who are passionate about what they do LOCAL brand avaliabity Freshness of the produce Range (seriously, who knew you can get easy open fresh coconut?) Produce for problematic diets - i.e. gluten free, Paelo etc I absolutely love these guys, I wouldn't do my whole shop there, but I know where to go to get my treats!

Yelp
Yessssssss!!!! I love Whole Foods but this by far is the best location I've been to thus far. Visiting from the US I was swept off my feet by the building in which Whole Foods is located alone. Let's further indulge on the 3 levels of shopping and dining that this location offers! One entire floor is dedicated to in-store dining. Salad bar, taco station, sushi, ice cream, and burgers to name a few! Cooked to order, take it to go, or sit down and be served. This Whole Foods is one to be multiplied. Or maybe not... I think I'd eat out every night if there was a Whole Foods like this near my home.. lol... Yes, it's "just" Whole Foods but this location takes the cake! Despite the difficulty of making a choice of what to eat, I went with the taco bar. I had a customized taco salad with jackfruit, rice, beans, salsa, cheese, jalapeños, and guac. This was delicious!! Don't judge me but I also got a side of the macaroni and cheese. This was delightfully cheeeeeesy!!! If you're in the area, shop and dine at Whole Foods! PS please open a location like this in MN US!

Yelp
I made my first visit to this store the other day, interested to see if the hype was justified. It seemed reasonably busy, so clearly it's tapped some sort of market here. I liked the displays, which were very impressive, and there's no denying they have a huge selection of products, including some very unusual items (eg exotic fruits) which would be hard to locate elsewhere. But, like others, I found it all a bit overwhelming - it could take ages to do a conventional shop here, as well as bleeding your wallet dry - much of the produce is very expensive, and cheaper versions are available at M & S nearby, or Waitrose, where the quality is likely to be comparable. They had a huge promotion on champagnes for the Christmas season, but again the prices weren't that competitive, and I'm not sure that the major champagne brands qualify as 'whole food', being neither organic nor produced to any specific conservation standard. I didn't try the dining area upstairs, and was disappointed in the free samples on offer on my visit - maybe early evening is not the best time to try. Overall, it's worth seeing once, but it's not somewhere I'd go back to, unless I wanted something exotic to impress dinner guests.

Yelp
Reminds me of WF at home but here's the difference: - Fresh baked bread and pastries in a little hall for you to hand-select - Downstairs: make-your-own muesli bar and a small spa area - Upstairs: coffee, juice bar, crepes, make your own yogurt, salads, soups, pastries, porridge, burritos! you name it! £2 for wifi - goes towards charity though, gives you all day access.

Yelp
Despite this being the 186th review of the place I am hoping to bring some value in considering the place as a eat-and-study spot. The Fulham branch of Wholefoods is my usual lunch destination so I was confident in the general quality of their food but I never had a chance to really taste their baked goods. And so after grabbing some essential organic butter and organic olives I decided to go for their organic chocolate brioche bread, organic walnut roll and organic kalamata olive roll. Upstairs a really generous seating area can be found with some food stalls distributed around. The pizzas and bbq did not look very convincing (generally I would advise to get your food downstairs) so I grabbed some salads (good flavour combinations) and went on to taste the baked stuff. I have to say the dough quality was good throughout but I was quite underwhelmed by the amount of walnuts/chocolate/olives added - quite cheap guys. Anyway, if studying is what you are after, the free wifi, generous tables, food and coffee options all around and decent sanitary facilities provide what is needed. Just bear in mind you will need headphones as this is a large eating hall and gets quite loud.

Yelp
If you think of spoiling yourself with high quality food, the Whole Food Market in Kensington definitely will go beyond your expectations. This market has one of the biggest selections of natural and organic health food. You'll find everything from fresh breads, local seafood to shinny red tasty tomatoes. As a Swiss I always end up in the cheese cave, which is freezing cold, but has the ripest Brie and Vacherin. Also the bread selection I am a fan of, the English toast is nothing to compare with the organic breads with difference seeds and organic dark flour. This is not the place to buy everyday groceries because the bill is adding up fast just by a little bit of gruyère, salami, artichokes, chives, precooked chicken, organic couscous, olives...you name it. Especially when you go there like me being very hungry eating yourself with your eyes through the delicious food arrangements. This place is to be visited if you have guests who need to be well looked after. If you want to cook an exclusive dinner Whole Food Market has the delicious delicatessen to go with it. Or you might go there because of your favourite bread; special herb or a certain vegetable you simply can not get hold of somewhere else.

Yelp
Known as the 'Harrods of the food world' this American store caused a bit of a hype when they opened one in, surprise surprise, Kensington (!). Still, as a food lover, I had to go and check it out. And oh boy was it fun. Horrifically over priced yes, but for those who can afford it is an awesome place to shop for you food you know is healthy, mostly organic and of very good quality. For those of us on a budget, it does not hurt to visit occaisionally and pick up a few treats, for example the banana bread or exquisite brownies from the bakery, strategically placed at the front of the store. There are three floors to meander around, and hope that there are cheeses and dips to sample. The ready made meals are all too tempting. The restaurant and cafe area upstairs boasts every type of food you could wish to eat, from mexican to sushi, crepes to special Italian gelato. A yuppies dream. My dream too, but I can't really afford it.

Yelp
Like Shopaholic, I had heard a lot about Whole Foods from friends in the US and read more in the press here, but I was disappointed from my Saturday morning foray. I went planning to nibble my way round on free 'tasters' instead of having breakfast, and managed to snuffle up some cheese and a few pieces of melon, but there was surprisingly little on offer and so I succumbed to a hot scrambled egg and gruyere bagel, which was saltless and tasteless and weighed heavily on my stomach for the rest of the day. I had also hoped to buy a delicious fish terrine for a dinner party that evening, but the charming Brazilian girl on the deli counter had never heard of 'terrine' and I was unable to find one anywhere. The Spanish food bar on the ground floor looked reasonably inviting, with its legs of Serrano ham poised in their carving stands seemingly borrowed from the inquisition, but I found the first floor eating areas had less character than a departure lounge. Full marks though for the large number of check-out desks and friendly staff - and don't forget that they give you £7 off your bill (if it's over £100) so that you can pay for the NCP car park in the street next door.

Yelp
I entered Whole Foods with not a small amount of trepidation. Any place that makes particular effort to highlight just how many tills it has at the store entrance is setting you up for a bit of a surreal experience. And, well, it didn't disappoint on that front. It's hard to work out how Whole Foods maintains its soulless feeling when ostensibly it's a pretty decent concept. Big store without too many corporate overtones sells good quality food and drink to the affluent masses of mid-west Lahndan. Hmm, now I've written it down, I'm beginning to realise. The stuff in here is good quality, easy. There's delicious bread here and amazing cheese there, all laid out attractively on tabletops rather than packed in cellophane and shoved in shelves. It's like the world's biggest deli. They even have samples. Mmmmm, samples. Come to me, cranberry ciabatta; get in my mouth, chunky guacamole. Hilariously though, the prevalence of samples at the front of the store does tend to encourage the mind to think that everything laid out is free. Of course, no it is not. It is a pain au chocolat and it is a tenner. The challenging prices of the store meant that my friend and I went for an extended walk around in search of samples and didn't end up buying anything. I went in as I thought it'd be a good place to pick up the hard to find ingredients... left a little disappointed that there was no mograbiah or pectin to satisfy my demands. Not even in the 'freefill-take-as-much-as-you-want' section. Woe. I grew tired of the novelty of putting my hands in the big bags of coffee beans and monkey nuts pretty quickly and hightailed it outta there - away from the raw food, gluten-free this and macrobiotic that - past the 28 tills, through the free bread section and out again. It was fun I guess. But I shall leave it to the Sloaneys and the Gwyneth Paltrows of this world to enjoy in peace.

Yelp
I'm with AlexHunterit reminds me of home (new jersey)...only better. Though, this store is not as big as the one we used to frequent in Princeton, NJ, it contains some great new ideas like the wine bar and the cafe on the upper floor. Whats great about whole foods is that although many products are expensive for the average shopper, they have a full line of products, 365 brand which are quite affordable, even less expensive at times than their equivalent at some of the major UK supermarkets. My wife likes to get her shampoo and conditioner here. In addition the store brand baby wipes are affordable. Walking through whole foods will get your senses roaring and lips smacking. While we were there the server at the seafood area was up on a stool giving instructions to a crowd on how to cook a particular fish. One of whole foods trademarks has been there absolutely exemplary customer service. It was great to see it was in full gear. Ohand if you like samplestake a trip here. You'll find something to try down every other corner. I had a sip of wine and cheese when we were there.

Yelp
Frankly, I've never been a Whole Foods fan, so take that into consideration as you read my review if you're someone who generally likes the Whole Foods experience. I think that if I were someone who liked shopping at Whole Foods, I would probably rate this one 4 stars. I stopped in here a few times while in the area, looking for fresh fruit, fruit juices, and pastries. The selection of juice and certain fruits I was looking for was much broader and their prices lower at the Tesco on Gloucester Rd, where you can also find all those non-food items, such as from the in-store pharmacy, that supermarkets carry. Whole Foods, of course, won out on pastries - except that the particular pastries I happened to choose were not very good (couldn't finish eating either of them). Worth a visit if you're a tourist who doesn't have the time or inclination to look elsewhere for better value.

Yelp
I used to be a big big fan of Whole Foods. It was always a special treat to come here, and get things I couldn't get elsewhere (albeit at extortionate prices) and leave smugly, my arms weighed down by paper bags. I don't know what's happened, but the charm has worn off for me. I still love putting my trolley in the thingamabob that gets it downstairs for me. I still like wandering the aisle and laughing at things (vegan meat jerky!). But last time we left with a piece of cake and heavy hearts. The prices have just gone too high, the things not special enough... It also seemed like the wine section was taking over like a weed; as a non-wine-drinker, I noticed that half of the cooler by the wine area is now full of alcohol, whereas before it was food. I also think there's less of the food in the self-serve-eat-now section. I was less than impressed with the sweetcorn too. I was going to buy some but every one I checked had at least 2 inches of inedible kernels. The silks were dry and crunchy so I guess it was just all a bit old. They also closed half the queues early (the section to the right is meant to be open until 8pm, and at 7.50pm it was closed) which meant we had a queue that snaked all the way back to the wall and clumped up by the juice bar. No longer a special place to go, but still clean and staffed by nice people. Just a bit meh, really.
