We are visiting from the northwest and very likely move here (for work) by end of summer 2023.
I wanted a great crab Cajun boil for our last day dinner. After all, seafood should be excellent here. Went to a couple of seafood restaurants (Asian and American) for the past two days and must admit seafood is EXCELLENT! FRESH! He picked this place claiming one of the restaurants that serves the best crab cakes. Before I put the review on CC and my steam boiled shrimp and crab, let's review the restaurant itself.
1. Didn't really order cocktails or specific drinks, just got an ice water with a slice of lemon. Hum. Yuck! The water has this distinctive smell (bad way). So I asked for bottled drinks; preferably bottled sparkling water or any bottled drinks. None. Hence, I got a coke. Something with their soda machine that... creates this yucky smell. this will be tough since I ordered spicy Cajun. If I order a cocktails, how many I need to tame the fire in my mouth. Will I get drunk and both my mouth and butt on fire? Darn! I should have brought my bottled water from the hotel.
2. Well, I am going to have a steamed boil. I need to wash my hands. Oh shit! Went to the bathroom, didn't even lock the door, I couldn't. The nasty smell, combination of fishy, damp, musty, aarrgghh so traumatizing! Gosh! I f-ing hate my husband by now.
3. Food.
Oh gosh! I ended up eating only 1 shrimp and tell them to pack it up. I'll just give it to the bell boy at the hotel. I can't even begin how to write the taste of this food. Of course my dumb husband enjoys his salad because he didn't want to admit that the taste is below mediocre.
It's NOT a boil like the Crab Boil restaurant. I ordered the garlic lemon pepper, didn't even taste any garlic or pepper. Cajun seasoning is NOT cajun sauce.
I am definitely pissed! Well, the shrimp is pretty fresh and sweet. If you like a standard boiled shrimp, you may like this rest. Or, just go to a seafood market and buy shrimp and boil it yourself at home. Cheaper! If you want to come here, be prepared to smell a bad ventilation restaurant. Ugh.
