Google
We started with the shrimp, delicious and hush puppy: very good. We also had the blackened tuna tacos, so yummy. We also had the fish and chips, not greasy, light, very good flavor. We ordered a carrot cake to go because we were told it was made from scratch : did not disappoint. The service was great. We will definitely be back!!! Awesome food!!!!

Google
We searched Google for a good crab restaurant as we were nearing Chesapeake VA in our way back north. We decided on Wickers due to menu options we could see online and good recommendations on Google. Recommendations were right! The food was Very good and amazing service, even though it was pouring rain When we got there the hostess was trying her best to get everyone seated quickly since the outdoor seating got temporarily closed due to the storms. Food was amazing and waitress was great. Will definitely return when we're in the area again

Google
The ambiance was good, there were a lot of people inside enjoying their seafood fix. Staff was friendly, we were seated right away, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered oyster Rockefeller - it wasn’t typical oyster Rockefeller where it’s baked or broiled on the shell. It was more like fried or baked oysters topped with cheese and stuff. Tastes good, but nothing extraordinary.

Google
Stopped here on our way to the outer banks, staff was so friendly and accommodating to our family. Our first time in the area and they showed us how to crack and open the crabs. Food was very good and had good options for our land lovers. Would definitely recommend stopping here when in the area!

Google
Hidden gem of Norfolk. They got the best seafood, and the bread pudding was to die for😘. Staffs were super friendly, Brittney and even the cook staff were able to make sure I enjoyed their food👌🏽.

Google
Let’s start with the food… we were a party of two and orderer appetizer - crab balls and fried oyster with spinach and cheese. It was supposed to be on the shell but it was served with pita bread that seemed like a day old. Bland and hard to bite into. The cheese balls is also bland, not much flavor. Service sucked. We were seated right away, taken our appetizer order but never came back for us to take our meal order. We had to ask. The waiter just kept passing us by. We were seated right in the entry. We also didn’t get a refill for our drinks even after I asked. We just left instead. My main course was not bad, I had the seafood platter. It was tasty and full of flavor but for what I paid, I could have gone to a much better and higher end restaurant. Also the red potato tasted like a left over from the day before and just heated on a microwave. I cook food and know what fresh food tastes like!

Google
That was the best seafood I have ever had in my life. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here tonight and they made us feel so special! We will absolutely be back!! The service was incredible, never had an empty dish on our table and our drinks always stayed full.

Google
Traveled from Pennsylvania to Virginia just to have dinner at Wicker's. I was overwhelmed. The Oysters, Crab legs, Shrimp and Sausage was outrageous. Started our meal with a Wicker's Islander, and finished our dinner with Key Lime Pie and Bread Pudding. The best restaurant and dinner in Virginia. 5 Stars from me !!!!!

Yelp
Great spot I travel often usually alone Sat at the bar and they made me feel like a regular Outstanding service Had crabs medium but were heavy and cooked well.

Yelp
If you're looking for seafood that feels like it came straight off the dock, Wicker's Crab Pot delivers the full tide-to-table experience. From watching the staff pull live crabs from baskets out back to digging into platters piled high with shrimp, oysters, and crab, this spot celebrates everything about Chesapeake seafood culture. As well as a very traditional decor and sitting area. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller -- rich, cheesy, and baked just right without drowning out the briny oyster flavor. The hushpuppies were golden and crisp, served with a honey-butter-style dip that disappeared fast. For mains, the Seafood Platter (fried fish, shrimp, oysters) was hearty, while the Lump Crab Tacos brought a punch of flavor with fresh crab and a creamy drizzle. The highlight, though, was the OG Steam Pot: corn, red potatoes, snow crab, shrimp, and clams, all seasoned with a Cajun kick that had us licking our fingers and wishing for extra bread to soak up the juices. Service was friendly and unhurried, which works perfectly in a place where you're supposed to roll up your sleeves and enjoy the spread. Prices are on the higher end (our table ran about $170 with tax and surcharge), but the portions and freshness make it feel worth it -- especially when you know the seafood didn't travel far to hit your plate. Final verdict: Wicker's isn't just a meal, it's a coastal Virginia experience. Come hungry, bring friends, and don't be shy about making a mess -- that's half the fun.

Yelp
The food was great! I never had crab stuffed shrimp before and was very pleased with it. The service was excellent. She was very attentive and even took back a drink that someone at our table didn't like. My only complaint was that it was extremely hot in the restaurant which isn't entirely on them, but you know it's a problem when the waiters are sweating from head to toe. Over, I was pleased! I'd definitely eat here again.

Yelp
My favorite seafood spot The best crab dip In the 757 and the service is always immaculate you get the freshest seafood and the drinks are delicious and strong

Sherri S.

Yelp
The worst. Had a party downstairs and refused to serve 3 women upstairs drink for the bar. Within 10 minutes they served 4 men at that the same bar drinks. The server was rude talking about customers behind the bar with other customers at their "no serving" bar. No manager in sight. Hole in the wall not worth your time or money!

Stephen B.

Yelp
Dinner tonight was delicious. Food was off the chain and matched by the service. Great fresh seafood. Local place has been around doing it right for a long time! Can't go wrong eating here. Crab cake sandwich is really excellent. And the She Crab Soup is delicious.

Yelp
This is my second visit in two weeks. I forgot to review my first visit but this one did not fall short at all. The atmosphere downstairs was a little more nosier than upstairs but probably because of the bar area. I love the option of the outdoor seating. The hostess immediately worked out seating for our party of five. She was very pleasant as so was our waitress. Service time wasn't super fast but good came out in a decent time. We ordered different meals and shared. Oyster rockafella , lump crab meat top with shrimp accompanied with string beans, snow crab pot, Dungeness crab, sausage, seafood mac and cheese, fried shrimp and hush puppies. Whew!!! Everything was great... no complaints from our first time guests either.

Yelp
So the good first! Service was absolutely amazing, did a reservation since its known to get busy. Asked for a back corner since we like to be away from the middle of the hussel and bussel. Plus we came for anniversary dinner. Got a great seat in the back were it felt secluded and was a bit quieter than the rest of the place. Got our drinks quick, I got the Wickers islander which was great would definitely get again. The appetizer of calamari was wonderful and we loved the sauce it came with plus they give you a good portion. The she crab soup was nice, i think it could use a bit more seasoning but thats just person preference as my husband liked it and finished it in no time.My husband got the fried oyster Po'Boy with hushpuppies and enjoyed it for the most part had just wished the bread wasn't so hard. I ordered the build your own steam pot with blue crabs, dungeous crab cluster, oysters, andouille sausage, potatoes. I did want crayfish but sadly they were out so we got some extra oysters. Oysters great, sausage and potatoes great. Sadly the main thing we came for..the crabs sadly they were over cooked and a bit tough and bland, I ate through a bit of it but ended up taking the rest of the crabs home to let others in the home pick at them and they agreed something was off about them and just ended up tossing them. Maybe it was an off night but I would definitely give them another try with something else on the menu just not another stem pot...definitely going back for that calamari lol

Yelp
Everything was PERFECT from the food to Brittany being our waitress. She kept it real and loved that from her. She recommended great choices and my lady and i enjoyed everything. We will be making this a normal date night for us. First time was everything. Thank you Brittany for the wonderful service you provided

Yelp
We stopped by on a weekend and had a reservation and so had an easy seat! With a pretty straightforward menu and tons of options, the four of us who are eating dinner are you able to get exactly what we wanted. The best part of the menu is that there are more than just fried options, which I find is often in the case near this area. I really like eating steamed or blackened fish options and this place had them both! with a super great vibe, decent drinks, and delicious food, I will absolutely be back. Sure parking can be tricky, but there's extra down the block if you need it! If you're looking for a low-key fish spot with fresh options, to include softshell crab there in season, this is it!
google avatar

Yan Y.

Yelp
We ordered the fish and chips, fried oysters, fried shrimp, and fried calamari to go using their online ordering system. Everything tasted rather bland, except for the fried calamari. The sauce that came with the calamari was delicious! I would definitely recommend ordering online. We had to change one of our orders, but you can't make changes over the phone -- you have to reorder at the to-go window. The wait there is rather long for such a simple order.

Yelp
I visited Wickers for the first time Sunday afternoon and got a dozen large crabs with heavy seasoning. Maybe 2 out of the dozen were large, the rest were medium and all the seasoning was at the bottom of the bag. However, none of that bothered me because the crabs were buttery, fresh, and delicious. I'm from Maryland and these were probably the best crabs I've had all summer. I'll be coming back for sure.

Veronica H.

Yelp
I am so disappointed in my to go order. We drove from Chesapeake to visit this place. I don't know if the food was bad because they were closing soon or what. Long story short I spent $109.26 on tasteless, thick, and hard food. I wanted to try the seafood macaroni. It was dry and it appeared that they made a crab cake and stuck it in the middle of the macaroni and chopped up maybe one to two shrimp. Cheese was not gooey and the overall dish was bland and dry. I also ordered the Rockefeller Oysters . Presentation was in a to go box were the toppings just glided right off the oysters. It was definitely not a Rockerfeller it was more cheese and bacon. I had to ask for lemons, like come on. Now to my husband's order. He had the Dirty Rice and added sausage. His food was in another brown takeout box that was not suitable for the meal. He said the rice was flavorful but the sausage was hard and over cooked. It wasn't what he expected either. He ordered 3 baked devil crabs that were not baked. My daughter said it looked like cat food. He also ordered She Crab soup. Looking at the take out menu it has a cup/bowl for size options. I don't know how she upsold him to a quart of soup. That cost $30. We get the soup home it's hot but thick like glue . I am just amazed because we haven't eaten here in years. I was very disappointed and it was not worth the drive. I tried calling but of course they were closed by the time we made it home. There was absolutely no love put into our food and the packaging for the to go items are not suitable for every dish.

L C.

Yelp
Friendly and attentive service, food was promptly delivered after ordering, and the place was pleasantly clean for a crab cracking restaurant. The Jimmies were pretty good (they hit the spot, but the meat didn't slide out of the shell), and the Crab Balls were just ok (they were a mid-version of Baltimore's crab puffs). Overall, it was the service that would make me recommend Wicker's.
google avatar

Elmer G.

Yelp
Great hospitality! Our server Caroline was the best. Very informative and friendly. We ordered a dozen steamed blue crabs (half male and half female) and the She Crab soup & some appetizers. Key lime pie for dessert. Everything was delicious and above our expectations! Highly recommended when you're in town!

Lori D.

Yelp
Was really disappointed. Can't eat poopoo shrimp....eeeeeew! Waitress says, oh we don't devein, obviously but why not??? All other restaurants do? Hushpuppies were cold. Waitress didn't offer to refill my wine or to bring water. Hubbie's tuna wrap was good. She crab soup was too. Overall would probably go elsewhere for seafood, like Dockside.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
Great service and great food. Had two pounds of crawfish with sausage and corn. Followed up with a slice of key lime pie.
google avatar

Gary M.

Yelp
Very casual ambience at the Crab Pot with an outside pick up window, Tiki Bar, outdoor dining patio, small indoor dining room and another enclosed porch type dining room downstairs. Lots of good options on the menu. We went for lunch on a weekday. There was only one server working the upstairs dining room. She was as busy as she could be but she never lost her smile and worked as quickly as she could. If the parking lot looks full, which it often does, go down the street half a block and park in the church lot which is reserved for WIcker's customers outside of church hours.

Thomas J.

Yelp
Food and service was good. Prices reasonable. Decor was familiar for coastal seafood restaurant.

Mary

Yelp
Had dinner there last Monday afternoon with my daughter who was visiting from the West Coast but she agreed, the food was fresh and well seasoned. The portions were adequate. The server met us with a pleasant smile and was timely in serving us. The building itself lends to a folkie type of environment but with the nautical display of art many stories be told. I will be back!

Katherine C.

Yelp
Best Fish and Chips I've Ever Had! Wicker's Crab Pot Does. Not. Miss. Crispy, golden perfection on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. They were absolutely massive. Like... borderline hilarious how big this piece was. I had to take a picture. Their she crab soup is also a must have. I was surprised at how much crab meat was in there! They definitely don't skimp. If you're a seafood lover or just someone with taste buds, Wicker's is a must. I'm already plotting my return. 10/10.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
The food was very good, our server was nice and knowledgeable. Atmosphere. Was pleasant and will be going back.

Bruce M.

Yelp
Great food and service, love the ambience. Everything on the menu looks so good I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Wicker's Crab Pot is a fantastic place to enjoy a great meal for lunch or dinner. They specialize in seafood and they have a great variety of different items on their menu. The crab cake are one of my favorites. They don't have a lot of filler, just enough to hold everything together. Check out Wicker's Crab Pot as soon as you can, you'll be happy that you did and you can rest assured that you are supporting our local restaurant community.
google avatar

Janice T.

Yelp
As a first timer at this establishment, I was very pleased with what I ordered. I had a cup of she crab soup, which was creamy and seasoned well. I also ordered a one crab cake entree which came with 2 sides. I chose the green beans and French fries. The green beans had to be the best I've ever tasted. I mean it was just seasoned with butter and garlic but it was done well! The French fries were spot on, with a crisp exterior, but soft on the inside. My crab cake was good. I had a peppering of crab shell in the she crab soup & crab cake, but that's expected with those types of entrées. Our server kept our drinks filled, but the amount of time for the food to arrive took quite some time considering the restaurant was fairly empty on a Sunday afternoon.
google avatar

Lori B.

Yelp
First time buying crabs from here as they came highly recommended. They were not good. I'm gonna be serious. They were packaged well but many of the crabs were OLD and some had barnacles on them. I've NEVER been sold crabs that were not handled with care. One was completed spoiled. I am not saying that all of their food is bad, but this batch should not have been sold and especially not for $160 bucks this was more like a 60 buck mystery bag to me. Do better.

Cathy D.

Yelp
Had two dozen BEAUTIFUL and FULL jumbo blue crabs today. Enjoyed picking for two hours. We can always depend on Wickers to have the best crabs around. Highly recommend.

Johnnie M.

Yelp
Had to try this place out for my birthday. It was out of this world. The service was good; as well as the food. I will be going back again for my birthday.
google avatar

Marianna F.

Yelp
We went here tonight because I longed for blue crabs. It came with corn on the cob and red potato wedges. The portions were generous. It said 1/2 dozen but I think there were 8. Some were a little small. Maybe that's why. It was $50. For the portions I thought it was quite a deal. My daughter got a "Build your Own". She chose 1/2 lb. Snow Crab, Andouille Sausage, corn and potatoes. I do not think she got 1/2 lb. of the snow crab. She should have said something. Her dish was over $30. This is my reason for three stars because I think she got shorted on the snow crab. We also had a dozen raw oysters. They were good. $18. Fairly good price for these days. The atmosphere is very friendly and we had a good time.

Johnette B.

Yelp
A complete waste of 60.00 food not seasoned and fried crabs aren't good at all ,No wonder fried crabs but1 get 1 and fish not seasoned batter fried awful .

Stacy B.

Yelp
OH MY GOSH BECKY! THIS FOOD IS SO GOOD! We recently had the pleasure of celebrating Becky's birthday at Wicker's Crabpot, and I cannot say enough about how wonderful the entire experience was. Our group was quite large--25 people--and yet everything went so smoothly from start to finish. Hunter and Hailey were incredibly helpful in organizing the event, making sure every detail was taken care of ahead of time. On the day of our celebration, Sarah was our waitress, and she was absolutely fantastic. She managed our large group with patience, warmth, and genuine attentiveness, ensuring that everyone felt taken care of. The food, of course, was the star of the evening. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious, with generous portions that left everyone raving about their meals. From appetizers to main dishes, every plate showcased just how great Wicker's Crabpot is at what they do. This restaurant truly knows how to make an event special. Between the outstanding service, the welcoming atmosphere, and the incredible food, our celebration was a huge success. Thank you to the whole team at Wicker's Crabpot for making Becky's birthday so memorable--we'll definitely be back!

Bill A.

Yelp
Every thing that a crab shack should be! The vibes are pure old school. Good food and great service. Happy employees. Don't miss seeing Britney in the downstairs bar. Parking is limited so try the off hours. Either way you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Looking for quality local seafood? This is a must-try in the 757! Went on a rainy day, not too busy, but not completely dead. If you got lost walking around looking for the front door, you're not alone lol. Staff is great - probably the highlight of the entire experience. They were very attentive and hospitable - something I definitely look for/am vigilant about in any establishment. Thanks Sara! We started with she crab soup. I would've taken a picture but I devoured it. It was my favorite thing on the menu so far. Very crabby, not watery. Not too thick and very mild and tasteful. The mid-Atlantic is known for this dish and they give it its just-due at wickers. We got the seafood platter and the stuffed shrimp with crab. Seafood platter: Oyster, scallop, shrimp, flounder, and a small crab can in a shell. you can only get it all fried or all broiled, no mix and match. Stuffed shrimp: good and tasty, pretty pricey for such a small amount of crab and shrimp was cooked perfectly, but just in a normal way. Dirty rice was really good but the broccoli was water as it was just steamed with no seasoning or edible presentation. All in all, everything was good and I'm looking forward to returning for another experience.
google avatar

Jill P.

Yelp
Cute little family owned business. We had crab soup, hush puppies, blue crab tacos, and boiled shrimp. Everything was delicious, but the fresh shrimp were the best! The staff was very attentive and friendly.
google avatar

Ema S.

Yelp
Blackened tuna was very good and very fresh, and they had AMAZING hush puppies and Michelle's crab dip. The dip is amazing and literally addictive. The waiter was friendly and quick, and very accommodating. It had cute nautical decor and there was lots of seating.
google avatar

Lisa O.

Yelp
SheCrab Soup is fresh, tasty and full of crab, with just a hint of sherry...a welcome accompaniment is there homemade hush puppies it becomes a meal
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
This past Monday enjoyed a quick in and out lunch with my daughter. They had just opened and we were only eat in guest there. Got our apps and lunch in a jiffy. Good food is always good for the soul.
google avatar

Andy K.

Yelp
Wickers is a local favorite. I personally like going during the warmer times of year as they have outdoor seating and often have live music. The crab boil is delicious and the atmosphere is suited as such. Wait staff has been hit or miss but not horrible. Cocktails are ok but nothing imaginative. If you are looking for a fun night out during a hot summer night go here and have a couple beers.

Rodney H.

Yelp
The only good thing was the fried deviled crab! It is like 3 restaurants in 1, as the waitress explained. Went for the fried crab but found out you can only get them to go. you can't go get them at the to-go restaurant and being them in to eat with your family because it is not allowed. You can't eat them at the outside bar because it is not allowed. The streamed crabs were dry and tasteless, the corn was . They charge gratuities for 6 and over. Which I don't mind but if I pay gratuity and owed .59 back to me I want my .59 back. Don't assume that I'm adding to that amount to the tip. If you charge for using a card and I pay with cash I want my money back. You didn't give me anything for free
google avatar

Suzette D.

Yelp
I like the fried crabs! When I go to Wicker's I feel a sense of nostalgia my father would always have blue crabs for us, steamed, fried and deviled. I once had a bad fried crab with barnacles on top of its shell. But overall this is my go to place for crabs. I have tried a few different places but they don't come close to Wicker's batter for frying crabs. The outside service is okay, I feel that the person who takes the order should be a little more patience, helpful understanding when taking the orders (redneck vibes).

Michele R.

Yelp
Ordered she-crab soup. I was so disappointed! It tasted like mayonnaise and butter with very little crab. Also ordered a dozen #2 male blue crabs. The shells were coated in seasoning but the inside crab meat was bland. FIRST TIME AND LAST TIME THERE.
google avatar

Tequila C.

Yelp
The food is always good at Wickers. We tried the Deviled Crabs this time (not pictured) and it was really good. The Mac and cheese, green beans and dirty rice were all seasoned so well. I definitely like the fried seafood platter better, but we are trying to eat healthy so the broiled platter was a good substitute. Wicker's will always be a family favorite.
google avatar

Patrick P.

Yelp
I recently took my two sons (12, 8) to Wickers to try crabs for the first time. You can tell immediately that the seafood in Wickers is fresh as they sell you crabs to go if you wish-this is not a chain restaurant like several others in the area. We ordered half a bushel of crabs and a few soft shell crab sandwiches. Everything we ordered was listed at market price as expected. Our service was a little slower but I chalked that up to it being a Friday night. The venue is in an older house with bar and outdoor seating. I would recommend wickers to a more mature crowd, my boys loved the experience and I certainly plan on returning.
google avatar

Lynn F.

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Had the crab cakes...delicious! Hubby had steamed blue crab and fried oyster po'boy. Great food all around. Finished with house made key lime pie, well worth the extra calories. Caroline, our waitress was the best. A+++ experience.
google avatar

Anthony M.

Yelp
Ok after a hard day me and my wife needed some good food and Wickers hasn't let us down yet! We were seated immediately at the table where we first tried Wickers We started off with the oysters Rockefeller and She Crab soup and the surprise of the afternoon was the oysters they tasted amazing and the She Crab soup has consistently delicious.I departed from my normal bowl and order a Shrimp and Andouille Sausage with corn steam pot and my with ordered her usual Caesar salad with grilled Shrimp and a broiled crab cake both cooked to perfection and portions enough for lunch the next day. As conversations went on around us in the room and the owner and hostess ensuring everyone was served and happy with there decisions, the room was comfortable and the service was attentive and helpful with the light Low the ambiance was definitely intimate and quiet as me and my wife enjoyed our food and shared great conversation Wickers knocked it out the park! Again

Yelp
We are visiting from the northwest and very likely move here (for work) by end of summer 2023. I wanted a great crab Cajun boil for our last day dinner. After all, seafood should be excellent here. Went to a couple of seafood restaurants (Asian and American) for the past two days and must admit seafood is EXCELLENT! FRESH! He picked this place claiming one of the restaurants that serves the best crab cakes. Before I put the review on CC and my steam boiled shrimp and crab, let's review the restaurant itself. 1. Didn't really order cocktails or specific drinks, just got an ice water with a slice of lemon. Hum. Yuck! The water has this distinctive smell (bad way). So I asked for bottled drinks; preferably bottled sparkling water or any bottled drinks. None. Hence, I got a coke. Something with their soda machine that... creates this yucky smell. this will be tough since I ordered spicy Cajun. If I order a cocktails, how many I need to tame the fire in my mouth. Will I get drunk and both my mouth and butt on fire? Darn! I should have brought my bottled water from the hotel. 2. Well, I am going to have a steamed boil. I need to wash my hands. Oh shit! Went to the bathroom, didn't even lock the door, I couldn't. The nasty smell, combination of fishy, damp, musty, aarrgghh so traumatizing! Gosh! I f-ing hate my husband by now. 3. Food. Oh gosh! I ended up eating only 1 shrimp and tell them to pack it up. I'll just give it to the bell boy at the hotel. I can't even begin how to write the taste of this food. Of course my dumb husband enjoys his salad because he didn't want to admit that the taste is below mediocre. It's NOT a boil like the Crab Boil restaurant. I ordered the garlic lemon pepper, didn't even taste any garlic or pepper. Cajun seasoning is NOT cajun sauce. I am definitely pissed! Well, the shrimp is pretty fresh and sweet. If you like a standard boiled shrimp, you may like this rest. Or, just go to a seafood market and buy shrimp and boil it yourself at home. Cheaper! If you want to come here, be prepared to smell a bad ventilation restaurant. Ugh.
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
The server was awesome she was running our whole area herself and was on point. The food was fantastic as well! The only thing is you're going to spend some money on the food so bring a healthy wallet. The restaurant itself was decent looking. Ambiance is nice. Glad they focused on what's important which is the food!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food, quick service from friendly staff. The waitress offered hush puppies as a small appetizer (free). I had the shrimp dinner- lightly breaded fried shrimp with a side salad, and one side. I chose the Mac and cheese as a side. Everything on the table was great with the exception of the Mac and cheese. It just tastes like cooked noodles with a glop of cheese on top. No salt and pepper added. Other than that, can't stop thinking about the salad nor the shrimp. Will def be back. I'll just order another side, no biggie
