"We love London. No really, we do. That being said, approximately three bites into Wild Flor’s glazed pig cheek pappardelle, we were willing to ghost the capital and set our Oyster card on fire. Such is the delicious power of the refined yet entirely inventive dishes at this seasonal wine bar and restaurant in Hove. It’s just a 10-minute drive from the pier, or you can go for a scenic 30-minute walk along the seafront. We promise the brief excursion is entirely worth it. The long drinks list is an instant crowd-pleaser and includes aged wines at good value, as well as a Negroni that will convince you that missing the last train isn’t such a bad shout if you can stay in their moody dining room forever." - heidi lauth beasley

"A group of lifelong friends own this relaxed neighbourhood restaurant, and they lead the service with obvious pride. The room takes on a modern bistro style and there’s a pleasingly unpretentious feel to the place. Well-prepared, seasonally changing dishes – try the goose rillettes with redcurrants in the winter – have a similarly unfussy style and good depth of flavour." - Michelin Inspector

"We love London. No really, we do. That being said, approximately three bites into Wild Flor’s glazed pig cheek pappardelle, we were willing to ghost the capital, set our Oyster card on fire, and start talking shit about our ex, Big Ben (just a big clock really, isn’t it?). Such is the delicious power of the refined yet entirely inventive dishes at this truly memorable seasonal wine bar and restaurant in Hove.  It’s just a ten-minute drive from the pier, or you can go for a scenic 30-minute walk along the seafront. We were so impressed by Wild Flor!! We took a friend for her birthday and the staff were so attentive. They even wrote her a birthday card from the staff and some ice cream with a candle. Our server (I wish I’d got his name as he was fantastic) was really good with us, I have a lot of allergies and intolerances and he was so good and even remade a drink for me to take out an ingredient. The food was lush. Really really recommend eating here especially for a special occasion!!

This is hands down my favourite restaurant in Brighton. James and the team are always so warm and welcoming. The space is intimate, with understated but tasteful decor, which just adds to its charm. The food has been consistently excellent on our recent visits, and last night was no exception. We went for the Burns Night special, paired with the suggested wines (and whisky!) – absolutely divine. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I heard this place was very good, and my expectations were high. I was not disappointed. In fact, I was very, very, very impressed! The place is beautiful, has a nice homey feeling, it is decorated with very good taste. The service is warm, friendly, competent, and genuinely caring. You can see that they love what they serve, and their smiles are not the prefabricated types of smiles that are fake and insincere. The food is excellent, and the wine list is great, plus it is priced very honestly for the quality of the wines they have. I am used to London prices and this sort of fine dining in London would probably be astronomically priced. I ordered the oysters to start with, then the Dexter tartare and the beans with peach, almond and lavender. Then I had the herb crusted hake with courgettes and raw prawns, a side of potatoes with seaweed and lemon, then the blackcurrant chicken ice and the peach dessert too. This was accompanied by a great Vinho Verde ( 2 glasses ) a perfect pairing suggested by the lovely staff. When the hake came I switched to another incredible wine, again, perfectly matched , a Chardonnay from Santa Barbara ( another 2 glasses) . The desserts were matched with a Riesling for the peach, and an Oloroso for the blackcurrant choc ice, both perfectly chosen by the fantastic staff on duty. This is definitely one of the best meals, if not The Best meal, I ever had in Brighton. Minor things I noticed that by no means detract from the skills of the chef were the lack of lavender taste in the salad of beans, peach, almond and lavender. I did not notice a hint of lavender, but the dish still tasted good and was fresh and delicious. The second thing I noticed was that in the blackcurrant choc ice there was a bit very subtle addition of honey, or honeycomb, possibly in the decoration on top of the chic ice. I am a big dessert person, and I do love cakes, ice creams, etc. But I am not a big fan of honey, and in this specific dessert, the blackcurrant choc ice, it was unnecessary. Still, if I had to rate this place from 1 to 100, I would give a solid 98. This is good that deserves a trip from London! I can’t wait to go back ! Thank you to all of you guys you were magnificent!

1st time here for Octoberbest. Food was great, service quick and friendly and nice atmosphere with not so much noise to distract you despite being fully. Surprisingly good!

Whilst the restaurant is pleasant and has good ambience, the food is simply not at the level to command the top tier prices being charged here. I had a mixed experience: starter and main were both pleasant if unremarkable, but were very expensive for what they were, and not generous portions either. Sides were very poor value and quality was sad, the lowlight being greens (literally a few generic winter leaves in a bowl) for £7. It took just under an hour for the mains to arrive and it was very quiet. Service was fine. Honestly, I think this restaurant needs a bit of a reality check.
