First things first called to park app not working use a browser. I had so many elderly folks in the parking lot trying to figure it out. Yes, it's downtown you have to pay for parking. Lol.
I made my reservations on OpenTable for Valentine's evening since I knew it would be busy. A lady did call not so much to confirm but more if we don't call back, they're canceling our reservation. Yikes. My husband called right away, and the first thing she said was, are you calling to cancel? Umm no! Calling to confirm the reservation that we made several weeks ago. Anyway, that was a little weird.
But once we got to the restaurant, everything was smooth sailing. The staff was friendly.
Started off our evening with cocktails. I got their Parisian pear which was recommended to me by the server. Oh my goodness, it tastes like a gummy bear, flavorful if you like sweet things. My husband got the wild sage margarita. He liked it said it was on the stronger side, which he preferred. He later ordered the Spokane, which has a hint of grapefruit. He enjoyed that one.
For appetizers, we got the chickpea cakes, their delicious, pear salad unfortunately we ordered a small, not knowing that it was going to be super tasty and should have ordered a large, and we also got the salmon tartare. For whatever reason, that salmon tartare did not sit well with us. It didn't taste right; something was off? I hate hate hate sending food back, but it had to be done. Instead, I ordered a small lobster bisque soup much much better.
For our main entrées for Valentine's evening, they were serving fresh sea scallops. Oh my gosh, they were so good I was dying with every single bite just so so good perfectly seared the sides that went with the meal perfect portions.
My husband got the sweet chili glaze tofu that came with vegetables and rice. It was actually pretty good. I wouldn't mind getting that next time.
The table beside us got filet mignon which looked pretty scrumptious, and a burger. I couldn't ask too many questions as it was Valentine's Day, and I didn't want to bother them. I already took a picture of their food because I wanted to post it on yelp.
For dessert, we got the cheesecake that was special for the evening and the coconut cake which they are known for. I'm not the biggest fan of coconut, so I didn't try it, but my husband said it was good. If I'm gonna be honest, cheesecake tasted like a grocery store, nothing impressive considering that our appetizer drinks and entrée was out of this world phenomenal. Highly recommend this place great food!
