The newly opened restaurant located just a short distance from its sister location, Jeune et Jolie, offers walk-in's only. We (party of 4) arrived and were told that the wait would be about 20-30 mins but it was less 5 minutes before they were ready. We were offered to wait at their bar prior to being called. Their bar is a standup bar, giving way to the busy wait staff and customers passing through.
We were seated in the back. We ordered our drinks at the table. Two margaritas, an amaretto sour milk punch, and (I ordered the Orange fluffy since the Red and Green Juice both had simple syrup). (My husband likes beer and was not impressed with the beer list so he opted for the margarita.) Everyone enjoyed their drinks. The margaritas had a smear of celery seasoning on one side rather than salt. The Orange fluff was freshly squeezed orange juice that was sweet but not too sweet and the froth stayed in the glass until I was done sipping through it.
It is recommended to share everything, so we did just that. They have separate stations for each type of food, so food comes out as soon as it's ready. We ordered the following:
Bread w/sea salt & butter: tasty
Olive oil poached yellowtail panzaella: very savory
Bucatini (pasta): the Meyer lemon was nice but didn't seem to go with the bottarga (at least to a few of us)
Mafaldine (pasta): my favorite of all the dishes (I would totally order this again and everyone agreed that they love this one)
Birds (Mary's chicken): quarter size which comes with hummus, garlic aioli (we all love this one), a few pickled vegetables, a wedge of lettuce with green goddess dressing w/seasonings, and flatbread. I am a fan of Mary's chicken but the piece I had wasn't as juicy or flavorful as I remember. Everyone who had it did enjoy it.
Cacio e Pepe (pizza): if you like Cacio e Pepe, you'll enjoy this one. Everyone really liked it, (except for me; I found that it was a bit too much cheese for me, but that's just me since I've cut out so much cheese out of my diet).
Pistachio tiramisu (dessert); light and delicious. It was too much sugar for me (but my tolerance was low for sugar). Everyone loved it.
The food all came out rather quickly that some of the dishes cooled rather quickly since we couldn't eat it fast enough to keep up with the pace of it coming out.
Ambiance: Seating inside and outside. Looks lovely, but it's noisy. Hard to have a conversation. They need something to absorb more sound.
Parking: Not sure if there's parking in the back. We parked on the street.
We wouldn't mind coming back here again to try other items on the menu. Our service was great overall.
