The Best Brunch Spots In San Diego - San Diego - The Infatuation

"Wildland’s fantastic homemade breads shine in everything from their pastries to pizza, no matter the hour. For brunch, we love the spacious, all-day cafe’s two sandwiches equally: their pizza sandwich—egg, pesto, mortadella, stracciatella, parmesan—and the breakfast sandwich, which tucks fennel sausage breakfast into a flaky, buttery croissant. Their dog-friendly patio is expansive and relaxed, and might even inspire you to stroll through Carlsbad Village for locally-made glassware and custom wood furniture in spite of all the errands you intended to run afterward." - candice woo, cora lee, ligaya malones

San Diego’s Best Brunch Restaurants | Eater San Diego

"Wildland, a new all-day restaurant, bar, and bakery from the same team behind Jeune et Jolie and Campfire in Carlsbad, has already firmed itself as a community anchor. A Tokyo-style standing bar bisects the sprawling, 8,000-square-foot dining room; behind it, a coffee counter buzzes with activity at all hours. Stop by in the mornings for hot or cold espresso drinks and compelling breakfast plates like the pizza sandwich, a folded pizza stuffed with a runny egg and mortadella. Excited to come back here and try some other dishes for dinner vs lunch. I got the Pizza Sandwich and it was good, I would get it again, I liked the small side of pickled carrots and cauliflower. Overall, the sandwich was filling and tasted great. I was definitely full after having it, and barely had room for the cheesecake. The cheesecake was not extremely rich, but rather light, which I did not expect. I usually do not get dessert, but I wanted to try it. Then my friend got the pizza and coffee cake. He mentioned he enjoyed it, especially the coffee cake.

This restaurant is a solid spot and gets a five out of five in each category of service, food, and ambience. Everything we had was fresh and local to the season. All the dough for the bread, the pizza, and the pasta is made in house. You can really taste the quality. We tried the flowers nonalcoholic drink, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. We also tried the olive Ciabatta bread with the apple balsamic vinegar, which was delicious. The ricotta sourdough toast was also phenomenal. We also ordered the little green salad, which was so so tasty! The dressing and the sourdough crumble was chefs kiss. We got the margarita pizza, which is a classic. We ordered the Mafaldine pasta and the sauce was delectable. Would highly recommend this place for a date night, or even a birthday celebration! You really can't go wrong. Our server was also friendly and attentive.

We came here for a walk-in dinner and it was lovely. Beautiful restaurant with attentive staff and the food is delicious. The Panzanella salad with poached yellowtail awoke my palate, citrusy and delicious. The mafaldine pasta was buttery and divine. And the pork plate with polenta was one of the best things I’ve had in 2025. We had some refreshing cocktails to accompany dinner. But they have beer, an extensive cocktail menu and wine. The pistachio tiramisu was the perfect ending, creamy and the pistachios were not hard to bite but still added texture to the desert. Great place for a date or dinner with friends/fam.

We came here for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was and how great the service was. Colleen took such great care of us. Lamb meatballs were a little tough but came on top of beans which I thought were potatoes.. The Mafaldine pasta (add chicken) was delicious. The woodfire cabbage was recommended and we're so happy because it was one of the best things we are Also got a kids pepperoni pizza which was more than enough for the little one. And they brought out a little birthday cake as it was my birthday. Shootout to one of the managers who was super kind to our little one! Can't wait to go back and try more food!

Google
Smoked Fish Plate - we selected the smoked salmon, charred octopus, and pastrami kanpachi. It was fun to try the different seafoods and it came with delicious accompaniments like bread and cream cheese Charred Maitake Mushrooms - this was my favorite dish of the meal. It came with several large pieces of maitake mushrooms and it was served on a cheese sauce with more cheese and meat on top. This is a must order if you enjoy mushrooms! Bucatini - the pasta was fresh and tender. The lemon sauce was very good. The dish would be better with some protein. Lamb Meatballs - meatballs tasted great and it was served over a bed of beans. Delicious and filling. Pistachio Tiramisu - this was a disappointment for me. It didn't taste very strongly if coffee or pistachios. Ricotta Cheesecake - this was delicious. Would recommend ordering this. I enjoyed the meal but honestly, I would rather go to Campfire or Jeune get Jolie.

Google
Went here for lunch with my sister (my first time hearing about this place) Absolutely incredible restaurant with the products being made 90% in house. The Nduja pizza was spectacular everything from the spice of the meat to the rustic sweet taste of roasted fennel. The chopped salad was light and refreshing especially for the summer. Mafaldine pasta was a fun shape and the marjoram tomato butter sauce was delicious. Definitely will be recommending this place to others and I definitely will be back to try out the dinner menu! Thank you!

Google
Such great atmosphere! Food is all so wonderful and good. Had a great time at it’s my friend and cocktails were nice too. The service as honestly the best part which is saying something cause all the food was top notch to me. Recommend getting a pasta. Definitely my favorite dish.

Google
We had such a great dinner at Wildland in Carlsbad! The Mafaldine pasta was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. We did have to wait a bit longer than expected for our drinks, but the manager went above and beyond to make it right. Not only were the drinks taken off the bill, but we were also treated to a heavenly slice of lemon cake, seriously to die for! Amazing service recovery and such a warm, welcoming vibe. Highly recommend this spot, don’t leave without trying that lemon cake! Thank you, Wildland team! We’ll be back for sure 💛🍋🍝

Yelp
Food is properly made in house and desserts are home made. Service is professional. The place is kid friendly. No frozen processed food like most restaurants around here. I will definitely go back! We had a good time.

Yelp
Wildland in Carlsbad is an absolute gem! I came here for dinner and was blown away by the incredible flavors and quality of the food. We started with the charred maitake mushrooms and sourdough bread--both were perfectly executed and packed with rich, savory depth. The pasta was outstanding, with fresh, handmade noodles and beautifully balanced flavors. We tried the rigatoni and bucatini, and each dish was a standout in its own way. The cocktails were just as impressive! I had the carajillo, and it was smooth, well-balanced, and the perfect way to end the meal. The ambiance and service were also top-notch, making for an all-around amazing dining experience. Definitely a must-visit in Carlsbad!

Yelp
If you've been looking to find the best pizza in Carlsbad, look no further. San Diego Foodies went there tonight and we all agree. Steve says: "It's just like Pizza from New York. Best crust" and later continues with "I really like the crust". Well, I have to second that. I am a chef. I make my own Pizza at home and THIS is worth coming out for! The second thing you notice is how kind and caring the staff is.... just like its' sister restaurants across the street, Jeune et Jolie and Campfire. They really 'show' up at Wildland, looking to satisfy! We sampled their smoked fish platter you can get for breakfast and lunch for sure. They smoke their fish in house. Lots of love and attention to the food, as always. Ana says "Great texture and it's really fresh". We also were blown away by the Chocolate Ganache Buckwheat Tart with cocoa nibs. And they do pastry here for breakfast and lunch, worth any trip! A simple egg sandwich, which I am still craving months later, becomes the most amazing experience. And pastry with cardamom? Mike drop? No. Mouth drop. Behind this Restaurant, a newer restaurant with only 22 seats is going in and we can't wait to try that either! Thanks Chef Eric. We love to watch you continuously create the best around! Chef Marian San Diego Foodies Carlsbad Foodies

Yelp
Came here for dinner with a friend and we were both thrilled with our experience. Food was incredible, the waitress helped us navigate the menu perfectly and suggested some amazing recs. Can't wait to come back for brunch and dinner again!

Yelp
This place has such a nice vibe. It's spacious, clean, modern, and cute. You order at the counter and get a number for your table. Huge indoor space, including a private room. Outdoor seating also available. The avocado toast had guanciale and was delicious. This was probably the best avocado toast I've ever had. Everything about it was so flavorful. Great texture on the bread. Unfortunately , the shashuka missed the mark. It was too watery and quite one note. The chickpeas were also underdone. Americano was a little acidic. Drip coffee also slightly acidic but not as much as the Americano. The restrooms were nice as they were all individual full bathrooms vs a stall. Sink included in each. Parking could be found on the street or nearby at the train station. Plenty of parking on a Saturday morning around 930am.

Yelp
The restaurant is so beautiful. Came here for a galentine. We didn't have reservations. They said 1 hour wait in a Saturday night at 550, but we got dated at 620 pm. They text message you. Make sure to check your phone. We didn't and we noticed at 650 pm that they texted us. The hostess was so nice and they were able to get us a table when they got a cancelation right away. Decor - so pretty! Clean and open and simple. Service - the staff are so nice! Every single one that we encountered was so polite and well communicative. Food - 1) very green salad - too much dressing. Loved the ingredients but wished we either asked for side dressing or wish they put less dressing. It was too rich and too salty. 2) turnip appetizer- it was good and nice to try but I wouldn't order it again 3) ricotta ang pasta - this was my favorite! However they only give you like 7 or 8 pasta noodles. I wish they put more in there. 5) mushroom appetizer- this was good and simple 6) chicken - the sauce was good. The bacon is so good just as recommended. The chicken was tender. Liked the dish. We are ordering all three desserts too. Overall, everything was great!

Yelp
I meant a colleague for lunch who lives in the area and she recommended Wildland. She told me they're the same owners as Campfire which I really love. We came at the end of January so it had only been open for a month or two I think but the menu is typical Carlsbad which is a good thing. Farm to Table fresh ingredients. Huge indoor space as well as nice front patio. Pastries looked at amazing! Staff was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend the chicken soup. I'm still dreaming about the savory lemony hearty yumminess. I had to try the smoked fish plate - you get to pick 3 to 6 different smoked fishes served with delicious crusty bread. She got a green salad which she really loved. And we split the olive oil cake which was light and sweet but not overly sweet. I cannot wait to come back here.

Yelp
I have been to Campfire, which I enjoyed. We heard that the same owner opened this place, so we came on Sunday afternoon to check it out. The place is beautiful and spacious inside. They also have some outdoor seating, which is where we sat since we had our dog. There are not many shades, so in the summer, it will probably get a bit too hot, so hopefully, they will get some cover. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich and opted for bacon instead of sausage. The bacon was more like pancetta style like thick cut and delicious. The egg was cooked perfectly (runny) and the sauce was very tasty. I ordered a poached yellow tail with bitter green and it was so delicious! The veggies tasted super fresh, and the poached yellowtail was tender and went very well with the dressing. It was pretty busy but the food came out super quick. I also had a vanilla bergamot latte which I've never seen anywhere else, and I loved that bergamot flavor with vanilla. Their pizza looked very good so next time we will come back to try more dishes!

Yelp
Food: We ordered Hangar steak, mushroom appetizer, Goddess salad and pizza & Miami Vice cocktail and red wine, Lo Service: Jared, was super friendly and professional-Excellent service Ambiance: Super cool, industrial & modern with a chill vibe Noteworthy: Our food wasn't exactly the best experience but the way Jared, the server, and Brittany, the General Manager, handled it, was a class act and it definitely deserves a 5 star, plus we will be back because of the way it was handled. Thank you for the excellent customer service.

Yelp
This was my fourth time to the restaurant, but our first time for dinner. We started with drinks, they were mainly ice and juice, no alcohol at all, and they were $16. The chicken soup is delicious, second time having it. I ordered the bucatini, which was good, but the portion was small and never offered Parmesan cheese, which would have been a great addition. The homemade pasta had good flavor. My husband ordered the flank steak, he said it was tasty, but was A La carte. We shared the pistachio tiramisu and it was average. Service was very good. It was over $150 for two people. It was so loud we could hardly hear each other talk and the lights are so low, that multiple people in the restaurant were using their phone lights to read the tiny menu. Probably won't return for dinner.

Yelp
Great new place from the team from Campfire and Jeune et Jolie! A much more casual family friendly place that is quick, large, and has delicious food. Order at the counter and sit at the generous seating areas with easy self serve water, plates, to go containers as needed. We shared the wild pizza (lots of funky flavors with the bleu cheese and charred radichio), the smoked fish platter (especially loved the octopus and gravlax), the quarter chicken platter (great garlic tum and spicy chili sauces, fun pickles, tasty romaine wedge mini salad), and the yellowtail panzanella salad (our least favorite, a bit bland). We loved that they make all their own delicious breads, doughs, and pastries. The pistachio tiramisu was also amazing - salty, crunchy and just the right amount of sweet and coffee flavor. The olive oil cake was sadly a bit dry and low on olive oil flavor (depending on which bite you ate). The cardamom brioche bun was alright - wished it was slightly more sweet and milk bread like. Overall a great place for a weekend brunch/lunch. No wait at 11AM on a Sunday. We look forward to coming back for dinner sometime!

Yelp
Fun place with delicious food. The line on a Saturday at 1pm was long but we decided to comeback at 2:45 and there were only 2-3 people in line. Order at the counter and they will bring your food yo your table. I had a pizza sandwich and substituted mortadella with avocado then "stole" a little bit of chicken from my husband's dish and voila what a great sandwich! Huge place, beautiful decor with plenty of seats outside as well. A must try if you are in Carlsbad!!
google avatar

Yelp
Wildland is a solid a-ok. Order at the register, get a number, choose your table. Plentiful seating indoors. Smaller area outdoors with heat lamps. Self serve water stations with prefilled carafes, coffee accouterments, and extra plates make it easy to get what you need. The aesthetic is mostly wood and has a classy hipster vibe. We tried the pizza sandwich and steak & eggs for brunch. Pizza sandwich was with mortadella, which I learned is a higher quality bologna. Not a fan, but that's personal preference. It was good otherwise. The steak and eggs were tasty. It came with a parsley celery onion salad that was a bit overpowering, but again, just personal preference. Prices are on the higher side, but expected and aligned with the vibe and location.

Yelp
After our a morning walk, we had a small breakfast at the newly established brunch spot, Wildland. They open at 0800 and it's perfect for early risers. Fresh open concept dining area and ordering takes place as you walk in and a number is given to your table. Outside patio is very dog friendly and plenty of room to spread out. We tried the Avocado Toast and Breakfast Sandwich. The Avocado Toast was delicious with fresh tomatoes, Guanciale (Italian cured meat), smashed avocado topped with a pasteurized fresh charred egg on a fresh roasted sourdough bread. The Fennel sausage in the Breakfast Sandwich was overly salted so order beware if you are adverse to salt. Charred egg was a nice touch! Bread was devine as they make all breads in house. Food prices have jumped along with all things inflation. Quantity isn't necessarily good quality. So far at Wildland, quality is impressive. Wildland was created by the chefs from Jeune et le and Campfire.

Yelp
Finally got to come visit the newest addition to Carlsbad. I live to find cafes or restaurants that are casual, find your own table and enjoy a cup of coffee on the weekend. They had a line out the door when I got there around 11:30am but only took about ten minutes to order and then there were still plenty of empty tables for me to choose while I waited for my order. I loved seeing so many families and friend groups out tables together--I even saw a whole birthday party and they brought a tablecloth, cupcakes and party hats all for the toddler! Such great energy and the service is super attentive to you. I would encourage anyone to come here for brunch and I'm sure their dinner is just as cozy.

Yelp
Had to come try this place because I really enjoyed Campfire and Juene et Jolie. The restaurant was quite spacious and very open but a tad bit dark. Service was very good, quick and efficient. There were some hit and misses with the food. The charred maitake mushrooms were delicious and I enjoyed the mixture of the Parmesan cheese and mint. The smoked fish plate (olive oil poached yellowtail, charred octopus, and hot smoked pastrami kampachi) only tasted whatevers and wasn't anything special. The bucatini pasta was my favorite of the night and it was very refreshing and light with the Meyer lemon taste. We also ordered the Nduja pizza but felt like it was lacking something and just didn't fulfill my taste buds. I'm not much of a lamb person but the lamb meatballs were yummy and did not taste gamey. The sauce was excellent for bread dipping as well. The roasted clams were a tad overcooked and chewy. We ended by ordering all 3 desserts on the menu. My favorite was the olive oil semolina cake which was light and not overly sweet. The pistachio tiramisu and chocolate-buckwheat tart were both also very enjoyable as well so you can go wrong with any of those three desserts. Still need to work on some consistency for this place but I am not opposed to coming back to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
2nd attempt.... Pretty much a rinse and repeat of the first. Amazing location, beautiful decor, ambiance etc... That's about it. The setup is pretty bad and they forgot my food order again. Had to remind the waitstaff twice about it. They eventually figured out where it was and brought it to the table, of course the wrong item, they finally corrected and it was meh. The latte eventually came into my hands after the meal of course. Overall, hoped for improvement but this place isn't quite there yet. Wanted a pony, got a goldfish...

Yelp
Monday, December 30th, 2024 12:00 Pizza Sandwich ($17.00): mortadella, stracciatella, egg, pesto, parmesan, pizza dough; giardiniera on the side - very big sandwich stuffed generously with fillings (I had to take out some of the mortadella since there was so much) - pizza dough was very fluffy and chewy--yum! - egg was cooked perfectly with lacey whites and runny yolk Service: - order at the counter then find a table, the staff will bring your order to your table when it's ready - I waited for 10 minutes to place my order then 15 minutes to receive the food - staff was super friendly and attentive Ambiance: - very abundant seating indoors/outdoors - decoration and design are all immaculate, this is a perfect place for getting together with friends or family

Yelp
We went for the first time today and had a margarita pizza and the shaksuka. The pizza was so delicious! It was cooked to perfection and the ingredients tasted authentic and fresh. One of the BEST pizzas we've had in San Diego. The Shakshuka was good. It was a little heavy on the fresh herbs on top for my taste. We each had ice teas and the bill was $58. Staff was super friendly and helpful and the food came out fast. I would give it five stars, but I don't like having to order at the counter. So, I guess I will just have to return for dinner where there is table service. Stay tuned..

Yelp
Fantastic local spot to check out! The ingredients made in house were so fresh and great quality. We loved the Rigatoni oxtail, as well as the Mafaldine pasta. For cocktails we ordered the Bellini and Espresso Martini. Both were great. What really stood out here was the service. Our waiter was Hyrum, and he was great! Great attitude and very personable. He had plenty of recommendations, to which we ordered and loved. We were told the wait time was going to be over an hour, and it ended up being less than 30 minutes. However, I'd definitely trying to make a reservation. During morning you order at the register and seat yourself, but at night you're seated at a table with full service.

Yelp
I had some high expectations about this spot with all the hype online. Went with my boyfriend on a Friday evening. Great ambiance with simple, modern interiors; clean outdoor patio; decent service. Food was shareable but sadly, underwhelming. The clam dish with spaghetti was overpowered with nduja sausage. The lamb meatball dish was slightly dry; it also lacked some acidity to balance the meatballs and waxy beans, only 3 slices of roasted tomatoes on the dish. We only enjoyed the smoked fish assortment starter. No one checked on us about our food; water refills weren't prompt but was eventually done. I was reluctant to tip because of my slight disappointment but did anyway with my bill and that it was a Friday night.

Yelp
Wildland was lovely! From the moment we walked in, I was struck by the trendy atmosphere. There was plenty of space to spread out. They even have a separate room available for private events - perfect for those special gatherings. I started with their breakfast sandwich, which was an absolute flavor bomb. Every ingredient sang in perfect harmony, and you could tell they use quality ingredients. My friend tried their pizza sandwich, served on the most perfectly soft, pillowy bread. What really set this place apart was the exceptional service. When we ordered a sandwich and mentioned we wanted it without pork, the manager personally came to our table to suggest avocado as a substitute - talk about going above and beyond! Only downside is it's a tiny bit pricey, but that is to be expected for the ambiance and ingredients. Will I be back? Absolutely. This gem has earned a spot in my regular rotation. I'm already planning my next visit to work my way through more of their creative menu offerings.

Yelp
Love love love and so glad this place is here! What an amazing addition to the neighborhood. It's an absolutely stunning location and the food, ambiance and service were all fantastic. We went for dinner and our party got bread for the table, lemonade, mafaldine, land pizza and the hanger steak. The malfadine was one of my all time favorite pastas and our friends said the steak was melt in your mouth good. Can't wait to come back for dinner, lunch and breakfast

Yelp
Nice ambiance, kids friendly, service is always great! I tried almost half of their menu, and everything I tried was yummy! My go to place!

Yelp
We went to dinner at Wildland for a big birthday celebration and had a great time. Jefferson was our server and he was fantastic! The decor was open, fun and contemporary with great lighting, tall ceilings and a large, open kitchen. The food was served as appetizers or large plates where you could share. This was super fun and enabled us to try many dishes on the menu. Jefferson guided us to his favorites (lots of mushroom dishes, bucatini, pizzas) and brought us the pistachio dessert to sing happy birthday. It was a great experience and we will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was top notch! Only availability was outside and it was a cold night. But they have outdoor heaters, and we came prepared with jackets and beanies! Seating is comfortable. My favorite thing: pistachio tiramisu!! If come back just for that. Ricotta toast was ok. Oxtail rigatoni was ok. Cocktail was inventive (sour milk punch), but wasn't a perfect fit for me. Come for the ambiance, service and dessert!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this new spot! There's so much room and doesn't feel crowded and the decor is lovely. Specialty coffees are pricey but yummy, i have yet to try the dinner. The French toast brioche was delicious. Service is pretty quick too

Yelp
Our first time here for dinner! It was fabulous! We walked right in as they don't take reservations for parties under 12. This is a great place to gather though, very family friendly and great food. They make their pasta and pizza dough in house so I'd recommend any of those! We tried so many things we were stuffed. The salad was delicious, and the bucatini was my favorite entree. The pizza is also amazing (the dough!) love to see this new addition that offers an all-day restaurant concept that doesn't compromise on quality at all. Thank you to John Resnick and Eric Bost for yet another spectacular spot to feast! Highly recommend checking this new place out!
google avatar

Yelp
French toast and breakfast sandwich were delicious! Wait wasn't long at all (11am on a Friday). Order at the counter, which I am not a huge fan of but it worked out okay. A small drip coffee was $4 and no creamer or sugar at the table. There is one Creamer/coffee/water station, so I had to balance two coffees to the station, prep them there and juggle my way back to our table, which was a drag. And to top it off there wasn't any sugar packets only "sugar water". Vibe is cute, dirt floors outside and very specious inside. It's very exposed so if you're not in the shade or inside it gets really hot even at 11a.

Yelp
Stellar breakfast at Wildland. The space is beautiful and inviting both inside and outside. I've been excited to try this new restaurant and now I already can't wait to return. The avocado toast was excellent, on their thick fresh homemade sourdough. The fish plate was also exceptional - I tried the anchovies, yellowtail and steelhead gravlax. We started with a perfect cardamom almond brioche bun and some of the best coffee I've ever had - from steady state (try the honey olive oil latte).

Yelp
The newly opened restaurant located just a short distance from its sister location, Jeune et Jolie, offers walk-in's only. We (party of 4) arrived and were told that the wait would be about 20-30 mins but it was less 5 minutes before they were ready. We were offered to wait at their bar prior to being called. Their bar is a standup bar, giving way to the busy wait staff and customers passing through. We were seated in the back. We ordered our drinks at the table. Two margaritas, an amaretto sour milk punch, and (I ordered the Orange fluffy since the Red and Green Juice both had simple syrup). (My husband likes beer and was not impressed with the beer list so he opted for the margarita.) Everyone enjoyed their drinks. The margaritas had a smear of celery seasoning on one side rather than salt. The Orange fluff was freshly squeezed orange juice that was sweet but not too sweet and the froth stayed in the glass until I was done sipping through it. It is recommended to share everything, so we did just that. They have separate stations for each type of food, so food comes out as soon as it's ready. We ordered the following: Bread w/sea salt & butter: tasty Olive oil poached yellowtail panzaella: very savory Bucatini (pasta): the Meyer lemon was nice but didn't seem to go with the bottarga (at least to a few of us) Mafaldine (pasta): my favorite of all the dishes (I would totally order this again and everyone agreed that they love this one) Birds (Mary's chicken): quarter size which comes with hummus, garlic aioli (we all love this one), a few pickled vegetables, a wedge of lettuce with green goddess dressing w/seasonings, and flatbread. I am a fan of Mary's chicken but the piece I had wasn't as juicy or flavorful as I remember. Everyone who had it did enjoy it. Cacio e Pepe (pizza): if you like Cacio e Pepe, you'll enjoy this one. Everyone really liked it, (except for me; I found that it was a bit too much cheese for me, but that's just me since I've cut out so much cheese out of my diet). Pistachio tiramisu (dessert); light and delicious. It was too much sugar for me (but my tolerance was low for sugar). Everyone loved it. The food all came out rather quickly that some of the dishes cooled rather quickly since we couldn't eat it fast enough to keep up with the pace of it coming out. Ambiance: Seating inside and outside. Looks lovely, but it's noisy. Hard to have a conversation. They need something to absorb more sound. Parking: Not sure if there's parking in the back. We parked on the street. We wouldn't mind coming back here again to try other items on the menu. Our service was great overall.

Yelp
Love this amazing addition to North County in the Carlsbad Village. Fabulous aesthetics, and a great vibe, both inside and out. Service: Fabulous Food: Very good with a few comments. Wood-Fired Eggs; white was runny, if not your thing, order your eggs charred. I asked for a one shot latte/whole milk, it was beyond strong and only filled half way, with the rest foam. I asked for more hot milk and it was handled quickly with a very friendly demeanor. Avocado Toast was delicious as was the coffee cake. It got quite busy, but they are heavy staffed and the line moves quickly. I will be spending more time here in the future than I should be, and looking forward to it. :)

Yelp
My husband and I are big fans of Campfire and Jeune et Jolie so we were so excited when we saw that the same restaurant group was opening up a more casual dining experience. We came here for brunch and ordered green juice, orange juice (fluffy), a pizza sandwich, and steak and eggs. Everything was absolutely incredible and the service was great even with the busier weekend crowd. We will definitely be back for more and look forward to trying their lunch and dinner menus! HIGHLY recommend!

Yelp
The place is open and welcoming! Dining indoors and out, with patio heaters available in the evening for the outdoors. We were fortunate to dine in the evening and also with breakfast! We will definitely be coming back! For breakfast, we enjoyed the breakfast sandwich and French toast. Both are absolutely scrumptious. The fennel sausage in the breakfast sandwich was a nice elevated touch! And the French toast was buttery and flavorful! In the evening, we ordered the fish plate (octopus, yellowtail, and smoked salmon) - all absolute delight for your taste buds! We also go the cacio e Pepe and margarita pizza was yummy and a great balance to the rest of our dishes. The Roasted Clams were soooo good! Fennel sausage was light in the dish allowing the clams to pop with flavor! The full chicken plate had so much variety, it was full full exciting surprises. Service was kind and patience. Food came out at different times due to the different kitchens. I liked this because we were hungry. We will be back!

Yelp
Wow, what a beautiful space and addition to State St. The interior design, branding details (from their employee apparel to bakery boxes), and playlist feel well-curated yet original. Every employee I interacted with had a smile on their face. I tried the Turkish eggs on my first trip and personally felt there was too much cilantro (even though I love it) and the baguette was slightly over toasted which made it tricky to break and eat. This wasn't a dealbreaker as my coffee and bread another day was beautifully done. The restaurant promises that it will be a community space, and even though many restaurants may say this as a trendy way to bring people in, Wildland walks the talk. Long community tables, elderly buying their weekly loaves at the counter, WFH-ers on their laptops, and friends catching up outside with their pups in the morning patio sun. Excited for this to be my new 10 minutes away-from-home joint.

Yelp
Almost 5 stars but needs a few improvements. We went to the soft opening for dinner. There is a lot of buzz and action going on. Fun atmosphere and huge place. Looks similiar to its sister restaurant Campfire but with higher ceilings. Very noisy inside but not bad outside. Food was GREAT except too salty. I like a lot of salt but this was overpowering. We had the the Margarita Pizza and it was sooo salty but otherwise the sauce was delicious. They could have put a lot more mozerralla on it though. Some pieces had no cheese. The crust was out of this world perfect. I would suggest offering a few more pizza types to choose from. The menu was very devoid of vegetables. I am a big veggie person and the only veggies offered was one plain salad and turnips with pesto sauce. I loved the turnips and the pesto was amazing (except too salty again). My friend thought the turnips were too hard and boring but loved the pesto which we spread on top of our remaining pizza to take home. I suggest they add some vegetable sides or a few more vegetable or salads to the menu. We had the smoked fish sampler which was excellent!!!!! Portions were good sized. Prices were reasonable especially compared go their sister restaurants. Service was PERFECT! And that is impressive for a first night opening! There were not enough meat or fish entree choices (mostly all we saw was chicken) Suggestions for improvement: *Chefs need to go lighter on the salt *Need a more extensive menu and bigger writing on the menu. *There is no signage with the name on the outside of the restaurant so it's hard to find when driving looking for it. * Some of the outdoor seating is on sand not grass or cement so there is no place to set your purse/bag. And some of the tables are right next to the sidewalk (where we sat) and you can touch the pedestrians walking by. It's a little strange - I suggest a taller fence or greenery to separate the tables from the pedestrians. *I didn't love the dessert options

Yelp
Was walking by and wanted to try a new place. Came for coffee which was good. Came to sit but the paper cup kinda wrecked the hang out vibe. Condiments for coffee was a big deal. I had a cappuccino and like raw sugar, just got a cup of sugar. Ambiance very cafeteria like, loud. Atmosphere is modern but a tad cold. The coffee however was on point and very delicious.

Yelp
My husband and I have visited for lunch and dinner, and we're very much looking forward to sampling their breakfast offerings soon. High quality food and a nice spacious dining environment. Despite being very busy during both our visits we were accommodated quickly and efficiently, and the staff were all very kind and helpful.

Yelp
I am WILD about Wildland! I ordered the pizza sandwich, since I don't eat pork, I substituted with Avocado. It was absolutely delicious... and the dough was perfect & soft. The Vanilla Bergmot Coffee is a must! Beautifully foamy & smooth. The staff is friendly & everyone had an uplifting vibe. The customer service is on point. I am excited to come back here with friends & family! P.s. their drinking water is reverse osmosis water

Yelp
This was a busy place on a Sunday afternoon! Firstly that vanilla bergamot latte is to die for. Get it and you will not regret it. The service was quick, the food came out quickly. For the prices though I did feel as if it was a bit high for essentially a quick service restaurant. I did have a good time but will not be back.

We came to try this place for brunch for the first time. Service was great and friendly. Got several savory and sweet items. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

Yelp
Love this place. The quality of the food is a step above the rest. Pizzas are phenomenal, cooked to perfection, salads are top notch and the grain bowl was filled with flavors that scream attention to detail. Pops of seasonal ingredients, acid, salt, etc. Latte and specialty drinks were unique and perfectly balanced. Carlsbad has really stepped up its food game and the people behind Wildland are in the drivers seat. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Really beautiful space! The decor and attention to detail is immaculate. No reservations which I never like but the line moved quickly and there was plenty of seating. Got parking right in front which is probably rare so yay for me! Really beautiful outside area and it's dog friendly. The food was excellent! I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich more than the pizza breakfast sandwich but both were good and the French toast was nearly perfect, although I wouldn't of minded a little fruit. The only complaint is the price, I understand everything's getting more expensive these days but for the three of us gals it was $130 including tip which is a little pricey for brunch, considering there was no alcohol on our tab. Overall great experience just wish locals discounts were a thing!

Yelp
We went this past weekend, and the restaurant was busy, about an hour's wait. My daughter and her boyfriend enjoyed the drinks, while my wife, and I started with some of the waiters suggestions, Ricotta Toast and the Charred Mushrooms along with Chicken Soup, everything was very tasty. For our main courses , we shared a couple of Pizzas, the Cacio e Pepe and the Nduja , as well as the Lamb Meatballs and the Mafaldine Pasta, everything was delicious. I can't give it 5 stars, since our waiter did forget one of our items

Yelp
Wildland is wildly good!! I have pretty high standards when it comes to food and this is hands down some of the best food I have eaten in a very long time! We got a sampling of a lot of things, the Pizza Sandwich was incredible and what an interesting concept and flavor profile. Breakfast sandwich, so flipping good! Pizza, the dough was top-notch. Pastries, could almost rival the real deal pastries I've had in France, the ricotta danish, wow! THE BACON!!OMG THE BACON!! The BEST bacon I have ever had, do it and thank me later. By far the best coffee I have had in San Diego, the olive oil honey latte, highly recommend. When we got there the line was out the door which is always a little scary, however I could not believe how fast the line moved and then how quickly we found a table (the place is spacious and beautiful) and how quickly the food came out. The staff was absolutely incredible, everyone was soooo friendly, helpful and kind. We even had a couple out of the norm requests and they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. This place is absolutely kid/family friendly. If I could live at this restaurant I would, instead it will just be my new go to.
