Great staff and staging make this store a hit! Sharon at cash wrap was a delight especially because she's from the south and genuine. Beautiful selection from gifts to must haves. The men aren't bad to look at either.

This is my favorite store. This is my third time visiting here. The store has a great selection of items and stylish, so you never get bored just looking around. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. I would like to visit this store again when I come to San Francisco from Japan.

Williams-Sonoma is famous for cookware product, but the store at Union Square is also famous for their beautiful Christmas decorations. And the most special is their Gingerbread Village. This year is a stunning build with the theme of the book “Around the world in 80 days”. You must see it for yourself.

Interior designed like an elegant layered cake; Lovely of them to offer popcorn as they pick your wallet with their prices. avoid the staff , esp that chatty Kathy - a salesman who talks forever and flatters your taste for being a gourmand and sells you products you don’t need ; put popcorn in his mouth to shut him up. Love their kitchen towels and Turkish bath towels

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sachi at Williams Sonoma! She went above and beyond to help my husband and me during our visit. We were looking for a specific pan, and while it wasn’t in stock, Sachi made sure we could order it and have it delivered straight to our home. Her friendliness, professionalism, and genuine care for her customers truly embody what excellent customer service should be. She was an absolute gem to work with! However, there was two unfortunate incidents during our visit. Sachi needed assistance with the computer system and requested help from two of her male colleagues at separate times. One of them was shockingly unhelpful, and the other went so far as to berate her in front of us. It was deeply uncomfortable and entirely unacceptable to witness. Despite this, Sachi remained composed and professional, refusing to let their rudeness interfere with her focus on helping us. Williams Sonoma, please recognize Sachi for her exceptional customer service and address the behavior of her colleagues. No employee should have to endure that kind of treatment, especially not someone as dedicated and delightful as Sachi. Thank you, Sachi, for making our visit memorable for all the right reasons—you truly went above and beyond!

Love this store but the gift wrapping I had to pay extra for was a disaster. Took forever and longer than quoted, which is expected for the holidays but they forgot to wrap half my items and gave me a whole hassle about a receipt for other items I brought back to have wrapped. The gift wrapping is the whole reason I came here and they made it a hassle to the point where I’d never come back.

Black Friday sale is mid. Nothing really in store. You ask them to order them they don’t know how long it will take. Some senior moment staffs I was being very patient with, but like they can’t even get the pan off the shelves?? They ask me to order it from my phone and type it in the serial number? 400$ pots and pans and they need a month and half to ship ?? This is the reason why people don’t shop in store anymore

So we originally went next door to get our Jewelry cleaned. Decided to stop by here and kill a little time. Was not looking at buying anything but this black fella with long dreads was seated explaining an espresso machine to a different customer and he was super passionate about the machine and annoyingly on point about the specifics and function of the machine. I thought myself knowledgeable about coffee and this chap made me feel so basic but in the most positive way possible. He was sooo passionate about the machine and his espresso. Down to explaining the function of the machine, its heating elements the automated tamper, the steaming function, the durability of the machine. He went into the finer points of why steaming the milk is far superior than frothing. The best beans for the dollar, Then he walked me and my wife though the machine operation from start to finish and why the newer Nesspresso machines were not as good as the older ones and how the pods were / are a rip off and the Breville was so much superior. He made me an espresso from start to finish to show the function of the machine and with no sugar it was pretty damn good. This fella taught me a few things in the 10 min he spent with me explaining the machine the financial cost break down of owning one and I would have never thought I would have gotten so much knowledge from a man selling machines to be knowledgeable about the finer points of a good espresso. Made my whole night...And this is not a knock on the fella selling it. I just have not seen a proper sales person selling a product in a long long long while. To William Sonoma Eric Wynn is the type of employee you want in your stores. He was patient, knowledgeable, and personable. Although I did not execute a purchase tonight as soon as I can bring myself to buy a 2,200 dollar machine I will be buying one from you based on the interaction I had tonight. My own wife who had told me no, absolutely not when she saw me eyeing the machine was impressed after the presentation so she was even saying well if it fits under the counter I can get one. If anyone. cares it was the Oracle machine. Auto grinder, auto tamp, milk temp control, broiler heating elements, cup warmer...... Just a simple to use sexy machine. And this chap explained it in such detail with a level of passion I had not seen in a long long while......

Yelp
This review is for the browsing experience only, and the very helpful and friendly staff we encountered along the way. At the front door, are two GIANT ranges, one in black the other red. This drew us in. These things are bigger than our kitchen, and totally amazing. As we traversed the store up the stairs, we were amazed. So many fun, and expensive, things to ponder. Do these expensive knives really cut that much better? We enjoyed every floor (4!), and the walk up and down. As in most of my recent reviews, the best part was the old pictures on the top floor, including a picture of the first Williams-Sonoma, in 1956. Very cool! Lastly, as a testament to how amazing this store is... It is located right next to Tiffany & Co., and Thuy wanted to keep looking here, and not go next door to Tiffany & Co.

Yelp
So frustrating to see a bunch of negative reviews for this store location that are actually online orders or other locations!! This location is fantastic. First of all, the store is MASSIVE with multiple levels to browse. They have a great selection of appliance models, including a huge range of Brevilles. One of the staff members (Eric?) gave a wonderful in depth review of all the Breville espresso machines. He was very knowledgeable and explained which machines would be longlasting and worth the investment. Highly recommend chatting to him if you are in the market for a Breville. I love how spacious, organized, and clean the store is. They even have cucumber water available to drink, along with samples of in store demos. Everything is fun to look at and all the staff are friendly without being pushy. The store feels high end but not snobbish. It's a very welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
I am dissatisfied with Williams-Sonoma for not being up front about their return policies. I bought an air-fryer online from their web site. The air-fryer did not fit into my kitchen correctly and I returned it to the nearby retail store for a refund. I did not receive the full refund since Williams-Sonoma apparently withheld $30.00 for shipping fees. This was not disclosed in advance and I only realized it when I inquired about the missing $30.00 to their very helpful customer service 800# department. The item was sent to me via UPS and I returned it to a nearby store. When I spoke with customer service, they were very professional and they tried to escalate within Williams-Sonoma. I am not planning on shopping with them again.

Yelp
This store is still open and amazing! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the products are always great with a good variety and I love their seasonal items and displays.

Robert C.

Yelp
ordered a curtain rod from William Sonoma. Several parts did not work which I did not realize until I had drilled holes in my wall. they refused to give me a refund

Aidan B.

Yelp
Just wanted to give some kudos to Eric! I've ran into some odd problems with my breville espresso machine, and every time Eric has been so welcoming and helpful, he seems to always know the answer to whatever technical issues I'm dealing with, his help and kindness makes my day every time I go into to this location, thanks Eric!

Yelp
I purchased a pizza oven bundle and thought the product looked great and was excited to order for a friends wedding gift. After ordering the product for 399.99 and being charged for it, I was waiting to hear from my friend about their new pizza oven! About a month later I find out that the company cancelled my order as they assumed it was fraud. This was an annoyance, but understandable. I then apologized to my friend and went to re-order the product, but it was now an extra $100! After calling to explain the situation, Williams-Sonona confirmed they had cancelled my order, but then refused to honor their original price! This was of no fault of mine that they cancelled the order, and now I would pay an extra $100 for the product? How does this make sense to anyone? Terrible customer service, all this does is push me to go order from a competitor.

Karen W.

Yelp
Bought a turkey breast for Thanksgiving (says serves 10-12). VERY SMALL and not correctly described. Customer service refuses to do anything about it...like supplement more turkey to accommodate number of guests! Never buy from them again! Overpriced as well!

Sherri W.

Yelp
Horrible customer service on lost order. I paid for 3 day shipping. Item was shown sitting at UPS station for 6 days with no movement. Twice I called in and asked for help and they kept putting me off telling me to wait. It's now 11 days since I placed my order with 3 day shipping and had to demand they do something now. They refuse to expedite replacement order. They offered to just refund money, no focus on customer retention. Supervisor refused to pick up call. They said they did all they needed to. Won't shop here again.

Christina C.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years when I visit the city. I had the most amazing experience because of BJ. I had a question for her regarding my wedding registry and she went above and beyond to help me add items that I wasn't able to add online. She provided so much value and made the experience fun. I don't remember his name, but there was another employee standing in front offering Alton Brown brownies and greeting everyone. He was amazing as well! This location is always so organized looking and it's fun to see what's new. All of the employees are always so helpful and cheeerful.

Yelp
I usually visit and purchase from this store or the one in Beverly Hills when visiting Southern CA. I have discovered a great kitchen soap that I keep at the sink at all times, the Spiced Chestnutm. The fragrance is subtle and pleasing and works wonders in cleaning off the hands when cooking, or just coming in from yard work. This time I thought I'd order on-line since I am not shopping in stores. The web site was quick and efficient, although they show you way more suggested product than I am interested in perusing. In addition to the soap I also got a diffuser of the Spiced Chestnut. Not having used a diffuser before at home I was a bit concerned it would be too overpowering a smell, but once I set it up, not at all. Very pleasing and gentle in the air, especially now coming on winter with the windows closed more often than not. The package arrived in record time and everything went smoothly. One thing I will note is that when I got confirmation for the order I noticed my account had an old address for delivery. I called and a very personable woman got the order delivery changed immediately. Very good customer service!

Menyahl K.

Yelp
I wanted to just browse around for a chef's knife and the sales person was not only pushy but I suspect a little racist! Will NOT be returning here! Gladly found a knife I liked online.

Cheryl T.

Yelp
A wonderful store Lots of thing to buy I got exotic vinegars and copper clad pots Returned a coffee maker Great

Max M.

Yelp
I was looking into Breville espresso makers and went in to get some help and Paul was full of great info and helped me understand the different models. I left with a new machine and am excited to start using it Thanks Paul!

Paul K.

Yelp
Parent company for Pottery Barn and they are known for promising refunds but breaking that promise. Expect for them to not to honor return policy and keep your money even though you returned everything per their designer's instructions! Shipping dept. sent one and said two. They are liars and from the reviews here has a lousy customer service department.

Yelp
If I could give 0 stars I would. I recently purchased at the Williams Sonoma Store in San Francisco the Tulip Pedestal Dining Table, Oval, Aged Bronze Base, Black Marble Top. It's absolutely stunning however what no one told me is that it is not sealed. One dinner party and the table is ruined. You can not set anything acidic, a glass of wine, fruit juice or anything on the table without it ruining it. The sales person did not say anything about this nor did I get any paperwork upon delivery warning of this. I called and spent 2 days and several hours being transferred from one department to the next. Finally ending up with a surly manager who said I should have known better and compared it to buying a house that could get struck by lightning!?!?! I explained I would never have bought this dining table had I known it was not sealed. I can not believe that Williams Sonoma would not stand behind their own product. So now I have a ruined dining room table thanks Williams Sonoma! DO NOT BUY THIS TABLE!!!

Yelp
William Sonoma Order Today I received my order from William Sonoma consisting of 6 bottles of Dish Soap. The order was 4 days late and 5 out the 6 bottles were leaking because the caps were not tighten. It was a soapy mess. This was not a one off. Each and every time I order this soap it arrives in the same condition because they can't be bothered to tighten a bottle cap prior to shipping. There is no doubt, the soap is great but the cleanup that comes with it... not so great. Consumer should think twice about this purchase. For me, it's no longer worth it. I should also mention that William Sonoma would not allow a review of their Dish Soap on their website... makes you wonder why.

Linda K.

Yelp
This isn't a product review, but about the shipping in northern California. My daughter is registered at the store. We have received a crushed box(because there was no padding added for cushion), a single spatula in a box which was 20 times the size of the item and otherwise empty, 2 fragile casserole dishes packed without padding and what APPEARS to be a returned item from Macy's (I know this because the packing slip was still attached to the original item) in the wrong color. I highly suggest that Williams Sonoma inspect their shipping procedures and warehouse and get this corrected. The salespeople in the stores are very polite and helpful. I cannot understand the shoddy packaging of some of the more expensive merchandise in our area.

Yelp
"Please believe me, here's all you will ever need in the knife department: ONE good chefs knife, as large as is comfortable for your hand." ― Anthony Bourdain About twenty five years ago a friend gifted me a brand new Henckels Knife that was just perfect for what I needed. Since then this one knife has been my soul companion in my kitchen. However, that has never stopped me from spending 15 minutes staring at all those beautiful knives in Williams-Sonoma and wondering if I should spend $150+ on another fancy knife! Then Anthony's voice resonates in my head and I walk away! On this last trip to Williams-Sonoma I came so very close! The nice lady in charge of the knife section was so nice and helpful in explaining each knife's strengths and weaknesses that I was convinced I needed more than one new knife! She even let me try a few of them by cutting an unsuspecting carrot on the board setup in front of the knife section. I almost did it, but then Anthony came to me I bolted again. The way they present all the knives and pots and pans in Williams-Sonoma makes you want to buy things you don't even need! Their stores have great staff and sale associates are so helpful that you almost feel guilty not buying something! Well, I did need a couple of small kitchen items which I purchased, but I was still thinking of those knives, pots and pans when I got home!!

Yelp
Super friendly staff and gorgeous store! Thanks Jim and Roalaine for being so friendly and welcoming!

Yelp
Even in age of online retail where the "right" to free shipping seems destined to be added to the U.S. Constitution as the 28th Amendment (if Jeff Bezos has his way), brick and mortar showcase stores have an enduring appeal that spans generations, not quarterly earnings reports. I mean, how much of an aerobic workout can you get while shopping online? Compared with speed climbing four flights of stairs at the Williams Sonoma headquarters store in San Francisco's Union Square, not much. And can Siri serve you mulled apple cider and delicious pieces of peppermint bark? Or teach a cooking class on how to braise meats? Can you try on aprons on Amazon? Or see in three very real dimensions how much counter space that new Vitamix blender, Kitchenaid mixer, or Breville toaster will gobble up? I'm not sure if this store makes much of a profit, compared with WS online and catalog purchases, or even a non-descript looking location in your average suburban shopping mall. The staff level is very high, and the interior stairwell, by far the most visually impressive architectural feature, means that room for shelving is tiny. Costco this most definitely is not! But maximizing profit may not be as important as the branding and prestige value of maintaining this ultra high end location in the City. It's worth a visit even if only have a $50 gift card to spend, and that won't get you very far. Personally speaking, my all time favorite WS store is in Sonoma, a short saunter from the main square. The backyard garden alone is worth the visit, and you will learn more about the company's backstory and humble roots there. But if you happen to be in the Union Square neighborhood already and want to climb a few flights of stairs, plus pick out a new grilling tool or wooden spatula set, by all means, put down your smartphone, tighten your shoe laces, and pay this place a well deserved visit!

Mitzi W.

Yelp
I love William Sonoma and especially the SF store. Sure, everything is expensive but the food items are so yummy. And the kitchen tools are so fun. The store was gorgeous for the holidays. And they were having a great sale. Please support this location. It is better t to shop in person than online!

Yelp
Date: 12/23/2015 Time: 12:25 PM 53° Partly sunny I don't remember the last time I was in this store, but it certainly was before I knew anything about yelp and/or the inception thereof. Somewhere between a 3 and a 4 star rating is what I can muster up for Williams Sonoma. It's better than a 3 star rating. I love the ambiance and the various kitchen housewares that they have on display (4 star rating). I also love their catalogs. They have top notch and fine quality items on all three floors; however, the drawback is their prices are high and somewhat beyond my budget (3 star rating). The purpose of my visit earlier was to go in, browse a little while and purchase a $50 gift card as a Christmas gift for my sister. (I pulled her name for the gift exchange this year.) Despite the last minute Christmas shopping and it is always busy during this time of the year, customer service was very good. The young lady assisting me was having a slight problem processing my transaction. The manager intervened and transaction went smoothly. No big deal on the wait...things do happen. At least I was out of there in 20 minutes to walk around Union Square and Macy's. Merchandise: 4 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Customer service: 4 stars Value: 3 stars Overall rating: 4 stars

Olive R.

Yelp
Unhelpful place in everyday. There are no big visible signs that show where things are, and the staff were no where to be found. I was walking around clearly looking lost for about 15 minutes, and still no one came up to see if I was looking for something in particular. I was just looking for silverware sets (which they didn't have a lot of). The staff were behind the register not doing much. Clearly they don't get commission and they looked lazy (reflecting on the company!)

Angela L.

Yelp
Horrible customer service from Williams Sonoma. - If I could rate zero stars - I would. Ordered online an item in early Feb. Received several notices the item was delayed. Received a notice this morning (end of March) there was a problem with the payment. Called customer service and they charged my credit card again, this time it went through. AFTER they charged my card - was told they no longer have the item and could cancel the order BUT the charge would not be reversed for 7 - 10 days. Would not void the charge made minutes prior, would not give me a cancellation confirmation number - said they don't have those (which is nonsense because every transaction on a credit card generates an id number) and refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. Totally bogus scam to grab my money for an item they didn't even have and then hold my money for a week. Disgusting.

Judy T.

Yelp
This is an update to the reviews I previously left; the last one on November 4. William Sonoma will not respond and while I contacted the "chef" of Galaxy, he said he would check into it. Still no response and guess what Williams Sonoma is still selling the Galaxy Croissants and now WS has elimated the "star" reviews. What has been going on? Changed review rating on Yelp to one start after no response.

Trisha W.

Yelp
Welcome to the Williams-Sonoma universe. This multi level facility is like walking into a Williams Sonoma museum. Everything is so beautiful and displayed perfectly. Each item just calls your name. They even display their furniture which I have never seen at any of their locations besides this. I'm convinced that they have everything that is featured on their website in this store. There are four stories and plenty to see. If you are a die hard Williams Sonoma fan then you have to make a trip to this particular location. The staff here was so pleasant and kind. It really was an unforgettable experience visiting their flagship store. Had no idea it was located in San Francisco. There is a Williams Sonoma cooking school located on the upper level. Perfect place to come browse high end kitchen ware. Yes it is pricy, but most of the items at Williams Sonoma are thoughtfully selected and will work nicely, look appealing and stand the test of time. They only retail top quality luxury goods. Parking is expensive and limited in the area. Try to take public transportation or just walk.

Louise T.

Yelp
This review is a little late coming and I'm sorry for that. I stop in this shop every time I'm in the city. The staff here is always so kind and helpful. It is a pleasure to shop here. Last time I was in, I mentioned having an issue with a warranty problem on an item I had at home, had tried to contact the manufacturer numerous times and finally gave up after receiving no response. The staff went out of their way to put me in touch with the brand rep, and their help got me a replacement of one of my beloved products. I am so grateful for that. They also gave me great advice and information about products going forward. I will continue to patronize this store, as it's the best WS I've ever visited. Special shoutout to the wonderful staff.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I would like to let everyone know that when you spend extra money to "invest" in equipment from Williams Sonoma, they do NOT stand behind the quality of their products. I am really dissatisfied & disappointed in the main headquarters. I purchased Stainless Steel nesting measuring cups from my local store that is now closing. I always handwash my items and I've only had these cups for one year, cwhen the handle fell off my 1 cup measure. All I wanted was a replacement cup, but they said it's an in store product only and couldn't help me with the replacement. Then when I asked if they could replace it with a comparable set of measuring cups, they also said no. I want to make sure that you know, I'm a very good customer of Williams Sonoma...have been for years, so the fact that they don't stand behind their products is really frustrating and I will probably not shop there anymore

Nikki R.

Yelp
W-S is such an amazing store. I've never written a Yelp review before. However, there's always a first. I purchased online a Le Creuset casserole dish and the next day it went on sale. I called customer service and they basically "we don't make price adjustments." So I said "I'll buy another one at the lower price and send this one back for a refund." Okay. Fine. Now I have 2 of them and Williams-Sonoma won't do a return. What's up with that? No return and no price adjustment. That's awful. No more shopping with this store. Thanks for nothing.

Sean M.

Yelp
Always love going to this store as it has great service and selection. John their knife expert was amazing. He is very knowledgeable and saved us buying new knives by sharpening our older ones to perfection. We ended up buying two new knives anyway we were so happy.

Jon O.

Yelp
customer service rude unhelpful. canceled order without telling us

Dawnette B.

Yelp
You received my initial order, timely enough to deliver it to my daughter in the US Navy. (Alone!) You failed to get it right. You shipped to my house. You failed to make the 12/24 ship date. You fail to get the replacement RUSHED order to my daughter, then you claim a signature is required, and pushed delivery date. 12/26, now 12/27!!! The original order shipped to me just delivered WITHOUT a signature, which you claim it needed. My replacement still hasn't delivered, 12/24 came & went, as did 12/26! I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service on this item. William Sonoma reputation tarnished. Seriously, this is quite a distasteful & despicable event! Your headquarters in my neck of the woods, makes me sad this company is in SF!

Foofa B.

Yelp
Williams Sono'magnifique'! We visit the store often and we, together with our little ones, are always made to feel ever so welcome. Nihal, Jim and the rest of the wonderful team are fabulous - so helpful, welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and really do go above and beyond. Thank you all so much!!!

Ryan C.

Yelp
I love shopping here. The people are so friendly and knowledgeable. Jim works the door and is the kindest people you could ever hope to meet. If you're in Union Square, this is a MUST stop and Jim will treat you with love and respect. Plus they have so many amazing things in that store to enjoy!! Thanks Jim & thanks Williams & Sonoma SF!!!

Ann L.

Yelp
This store is Huge. It's 3 floors of everything you could need in your kitchen, but damn is it expensive. I was looking for Mariage Freres Breakfast tea & Casablanca tea. They didn't seem to have it, but I didn't ask the sales ppl. Did see Early Grey Silver Tip though. I found the Kuhn Rikon green paring knife I wanted for $9. With tax it's $9.77. This is just for One knife ppl!!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
My store near me(Walnut Creek) is terrible and not stocked well. Coming to this location is always a treat. This evening I came in looking for the famous "Roy's Panettone," but thinking I was probably out of luck. I looked at the other brands and asked a sales person by the name of Sharon, which she thought was the best. She told me that Roy's was the best, and she had one set aside for herself, but decided to sell it to me. Was thrilled that I could get my hands on one at this late date in the holiday season. What struck me the most was that every staff member, especially Sharon, was so helpful and kind, even though they were super busy. Keep up the great customer service guys!

Susan M.

Yelp
To those of you who say I can just get it online, I say not so fast. Today I begrudgingly made the trip downtown to Williams-Sonoma Post street store and my faith in SF retail has been refreshed. Thank you to the kind gentleman -- whose name I neglected to get -- who assisted my daughter and me with a graduation gift (a coffee maker) that surely would have been a lemon had he not sorted us out. Knowledgable service matters and this store really delivered today.

Eirini P.

Yelp
Super rude and unhelpful customer service. I went over yesterday to pick up a swatch I had ordered over the phone, and when after a while I spotted someone to help me and asked about my swatch, he acted like he heard this word for the first time in his life. Eventually he told me he had no idea what I was talking about without even checking and didn't even bother to tell me that the furniture of the swatch I was there for, was located in the back of the same floor.

Haig K.

Yelp
Williams Sonoma offers a wide selection of top notch quality kitchenware tableware and etc and is just simply the best of the best. They offers styles of all tastes. Really nice French imported products and because able to afford it I who've been a loyal shopper absolutely love this retailer. Expensive but you get what you pay for.

T A.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience I had with Sharon! She was absolutely delightful and so knowledgeable about everything in the store! Super impressive! Her energy and her presence really made me feel comfortable and at ease. People in union square are usually intense inside the stores, she was completely opposite and I totally want to be friends with her!!! Thank you Sharon! This is officially my favorite William Sonoma location because of her! I will be back forsure!

Fa R.

Yelp
The most beautiful Williams-Sonoma store I have seen in the US! Wow! The best time to go is before Thanksgiving and Christmas! Everything is in place for a perfect celebration. The smell, the decor, the 3 stories, so nice! Expensive store but amazing products and selection.

John D.

Yelp
I am writing this review for one employee. Some African American woman who was at the cashier position but could have had another job title. Anyways, I came into the store to return something. It was an egg topper if people want to know. Anyways, the moment I get in, the woman has an attitude issue. I feel it was from the fact that I wanted to return something and in the process interrupted her conversation she was having with her friend in order to make her do work. Anyways back to the return. I put my egg topper on the desk and state I want to return it. She then proceeds to bark out " WHY YOU RETURNING THIS ALL THE WAY HERE?" I'm sorry but I didn't know that was an issue. I just know it was bought one day ago and was still within the 30 day return time window and part of corporate return policy. But I'm any case, I answer her question. For everyone reading this, I bought the egg topper at their Stanford Mall location because it's the ONLY location the had it. I drove from San Francisco to that location just to buy it. I did that to give this company business and keep horrible employees like the woman I am talking about right now employed. You know, rather then give it to Amazon? But yah, I'll return to Amazon later in this story. So I buy the egg topper at Stanford over the weekend. I get home and after further inspection, I realize where the egg topper handle meets the base is chipped all over. This is due to the stress of pulling the handle up and releasing it and hitting the base. Most likely this was due to countless people doing that in store and slowly chipping it. It also made me realize how cheaply made this item was and how overpriced it was when I bought it. Almost $23. So I decided to return it. Problem is I work in San Francisco. Not Stanford. So I went after work to return it here. So while retuning the item, the lady goes through the motions of returning my item and then asks for my email which I decline because let's face it, no corporation in the history of mankind has got email marketing right. Then the lady shoved a receipt in my face and barks out "sigh". And then leaves the print outs in a pile and walks away. No where in the conversation was a "would we replace it for you? What's the problem? I'm sorry, etc". She has this arrogance on her as if she worked at a communist store and customers were forced to shop there. She forgot she worked in an UPSCALE overpriced kitchen store where service is the main reason people come. Btw, there is a Asian guy who works here and he really knows his knifes. I highly recommend him. Just not this woman. Anyways, I went to Amazon and picked up a stainless steel egg topper with a rubber between the handle and base so no chipping. It was like $15 and better made then the one sold by this company. Sadly Amazon now got more of my shopping dollars rather than an actual brick and mortar store that I grew up with. Also I don't have to drive to get my item not came next day. If this company doesn't train their employees better it will end up next in line after toys r us. I have a feeling that it's already happening too. Anyways. My two cents.

Yelp
On January 27, 2020, I ordered a Nespresso VertuoPlus Matte Coffee Maker by Breville. The advert on the site offered it for $124.96. I made the purchase immediately I received a call that day about the order but was unable to return the call immediately. When I did call back, the representative who helped me, said that there was nothing that was flagged or anything notes on my order. It looked fine and they would contact me when it shipped. After a few days, I did not receive any notification of shipment and called Customer Service. I called again and the representative told me the order had been canceled, but there was no reason noted on my order. After she tried to find out what went wrong, we came to the conclusion it was the price (it was now $249.95 WITH a 50% discount). In addition, I had selected "shipped to store", which may have not been possible. I let the representative know that the ONLY option was to pick it up at the store, but would gladly have it shipped to my residence. I was informed that WS would honor the original price. I was told to order it for the $249.95 and they would manually go in and credit me for the difference. I received an email informing me that my order was again canceled. I just got off the phone with someone from Customer Service and was informed that the item is NOT in stock and not available. I was told that sometimes, the website takes some time to "catch up". I just went online and was able to order the item, again. I have been a loyal customer to WS, but after this, and how this was handled, I refuse to shop there any more. I was willing to pay a little more because I ASSUME the attention to customer service would be much more personable and attentive compared to other retailers. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE as the representative told me "what do you want me to do?". I have no idea what my options are since I cannot order the item.

Yelp
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. If I could give -5 stars I absolutely would. Placed a large order online with expedited shipping after a lot of the knife items weren't available in store. Order Confirmation received right away. Three days go by and no knives have been shipped. Called customer service to find out what's going on "everything looks good on our end, I don't know why the order was delayed". Another day goes by, no message or call or email received, check the order status and the entire order was canceled without any notification. I call again, no clue what happened, get redirected to order processing and have to listen to the rep ARGUING and DEBATING with me that a message has been left on day of order for verification purposes. There was no message, no email. And that would have been something I could have been notified about when I went out of my way to reach out to the company (multiple times!!). Very rude, didn't let me finish my sentences and just talked over me repeatedly with the same exact sentence "I see here that a message has been left". Absolutely no way to talk to customers, no intention at all to figure out a solution. Sad to see that more and more companies cheap out on who they hire. Absolutely no interest in regaining our business (and it was a large order) but more interested in debating. Never going to buy anything here again. Save your nerves and time and go somewhere else

Yelp
Very friendly and knowledgeable staffs! Honest and welcoming! Good quality products and large selections. When you don't have the luxury of time to do the research on cookware, this place is extremely helpful. Love their decir.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the Cooking School portion (top floor). My boyfriend and I went this past Friday and the chef, Samantha, was incredibly down to earth, witty, and easy to learn from. The food was amazing. Our newest favorite salmon recipe. We will definitely be back for more classes.

Yelp
They are great when it comes to selling you a ton of stuff. Very poor customer service when it comes to either price matching (their online guarantee is total bullshit - they will find every excuse not to price match) and also terrible customer service when it comes to refunds and refunding the proper amount. I've spent thousands of dollars here and will not be coming back due to their piss poor corporate customer service. Their Corporate Headquarters treat customers without any thought around NPS or building customer loyalty, and this is exactly the kind of business that will be disrupted by those who understand treating the customer well.
