Goose Island Reveals Its 2025 Bourbon County Stout Lineup | Eater Chicago

"The skyscraper will gain several new dining options this year, including the first Midwest location of a New York–based scoop shop that will join Catalog, the multi-level food-and-retail space housed inside the building. Also slated to appear is a Mediterranean fast-casual concept that first opened in Wicker Park last year, and other national chains are expanding into the market as part of this broader refresh of the building’s dining lineup." - Jeffy Mai

It is worth visiting the Willis Tower observation deck. We arrived close to sunset which was a big plus. One can explore 360° including the understanding how vast Chicago is and how large Lake Michigan is. Enjoyable and worth the cost

Google
Willis Tower was a fun place to visit. When you walk in, you’re immediately greeted with lots of food places. I saw a sushi place and Shake Shack, which I loved because their burgers were so fresh! Then we went to Skydeck (which I posted a separate review for). Viewing downtown Chicago from 103 floors is crazy, and it’s a sight you don’t get to see every day. Tickets are expensive however, with $45 per adult and somewhere around $30 for a child. However, infants and babies are free. You get 90 seconds to stand in a glass box and take photos, and then you can rejoin the line if you’d like. Skydeck has its own security checkpoint and mini-exhibit of Chicago’s culture you can walk through before you go on the ledge. There’s a gift shop and a super-fast elevator, and Willis Tower is at the center of downtown Chicago, so it’s only a 15 minute walk to Millennium Park and other places. If you’re traveling to Chicago for vacation or you’re just visiting, Willis Tower has got to be on your list, whether you’re traveling alone or with family.

Google
Willis Tower is must visit place in Chicago, I really enjoy my Sunday Afternoon at Willis Tower Skydeck. Truly an amazing experience, enjoy very second. It was good architecture of 70s still everything looks so advance and well planned. I saw beautiful views from top of 103rd floor cool experience. Elevator are so fast within few seconds take you up and down, it play some history video of when it was built. Highly recommending Willi Tower Skydeck ❤️🤩

Google
Was blessed enough to get the chance to meet my university friends after a long period of time ( after 16 years) . Together went to Willis Tower to experience The Ledge…a must must try adventure if you are not frightened of heights. The entrance to the tower gives you a close interaction with the history of the city. Teamed up with old friends this trip is added to unforgettable moment list.

Google
Always an amazing experience here! Staff is very helpful! Tickets are not pricey, went on a Monday which was nice not crowded at all! A lot to see very beautiful view we got tickets for 5pm got there at 430 then let us in and by the time we got up to the sky deck from all the things to see before you make it up there the sun was setting so the view was 10x better! Clean all around definitely coming back at different times

Google
Worth the visit. If you are Military you get admission for free so get your tickets from the box office to get your tickets. Just be aware you may wait to take pictures on the ledge which could be about 10-15 minutes and you only have a minute and half to take photos with your phone or camera so prepare in advance. Do not miss this opportunity while in Chicago!

Google
Before or after you check out the top of the building, grab some lunch in the foodhall. The weather was nice so I took the elevator to the 4th floor which has an amazing outdoor rooftop dining experience. Plenty of tables & chairs. Super cute! I give this space 5⭐️ Jerry (the piegon) gives it a 5.5 for its birdseye view 🤭😉

Google
Great views from the Skydeck! Tip: Buy tickets in advance and arrive on time. They usually allow ticket holders to walk-in about 10 minutes before their aloted time. I only booked once I was in the neighbourhood and that resulted in my having to wait over an hour for a free slot as the previous two had been fully booked. Also, pricing seems to be dynamic so the earlier you book, the lower the price.

Yelp
The Willis Tower is a cool spot in Chicago as it's home of the SkyDeck, the viewing spot on the 104th floor. Here you can walk around and embrace the skylines, and you can also wait in line to stand in one of their glass boxes for a free photo op included in your ticket. We visited right before close at night so there were long lines to visit the glass boxes. They only give you 90 seconds to take photos--good for line management, rushed for enjoying. You also had to walk through a "museum" type features before hitting the elevators. It was cool but we didn't take our time through it since we went through so late at night. It took us about 10 minutes to walk through with very little stops. After you finish that, you get to the elevators Overall it gave a cool perspective of the city. It's on opposite ends of the other tower that offers this, so you see different views.

Yelp
Great place for tourists in downtown Chicago. They sell tickets to take the elevator to the skydeck area. Your ticket includes the ability to go onto these glass out pockets in the side of the building at a specific time window. You can see completely below you and get some awesome pictures of Chicago.

Yelp
This formerly called Sears Tower is now Willis Tower is very nice and modern. So much happens here. The Metropolitan restaurant and the many sites here including the floor where you can see yourself with the bottom of your feet seeing all of Chicago through the clear glass. Bring ID for any events bc security is very strict.
google avatar

Yelp
Pricy but if you are in town, great experience! They give you a timed 90 seconds to take your pictures so work fast! Pick a beautiful day, you can see for miles

Yelp
I recently visited the Skydeck at Willis Tower for the first time since its remodel, and it was an unforgettable experience--especially since I had the opportunity to bring some of my coworkers from China along for the ride. The newly updated experience has a historic museum entrance that talks about the rich history of both the skyscraper itself but also the city of Chicago, which was a nice touch for both us and our visitors who were seeing Chicago for the first time. It also had a ton of great photo ops with some things best known to Chicago :) Watching my coworkers step onto the sky deck priceless! They were both awestruck and a little nervous, but everyone ended up loving the experience. In terms of crowd management, I was impressed. Even though it was a sunny Saturday, the flow of visitors felt smooth, and we didn't feel too jam packed.

Yelp
Typical tourist spot but it has nice views The observation deck has nice views of the city from all angles. The skydeck is a little underwhelming but still offers cool views. This is the only spot where you feel like cattle.

Yelp
On my first trip to Chicago I tried to do as many things as possible in 48 hours. This was my first stop. I did the skydeck which had the most amazing views of Chicago including the beautiful lake. There are so many photo opportunities here and most of them did not disappoint. They also take you through a museum of sorts as you walk the path to the elevators. You learn about the Chicago fire, the royalty like Jordan and the Obamas. I learned that a Chicago hot dog does not ketchup! I never knew this fact. lol. I will go back when I come back to Chicago for sure.

Yelp
This special mindfulness event was pretty cool. "Up, Up And Away Yoga" on the 99th floor of Willis Towers. I've only taken a handful of classes in my lifetime. I understand there are many benefits to include yoga as a part of your daily regimen. Some examples are stress relief, improved flexibility and better rest. Nicole, our beautiful, well-toned, warm spirited instructor gave the group quite the workout. I was familiar with the 'tree' pose as it helps improve balance. I was also familiar with the 'downward facing dog' as it stretches the spine. The rest of what we did was all new to me, but fun to get the body moving. This ticketed event also included an express pass visit to the Ledge for a 90 second photo shoot. They literally set a timer. For our group there were yoga poses for pictures. For the next two days I could feel aches in muscles that don't get that much attention. I've got to do better. Thanks, Nicole!

Yelp
Willis Tower is filled with tons of restaurants and businesses. I stopped by with a friend to visit SkyLedge. Thankfully the line moved quickly and there were no issues with my reservation. The line leads you through a large, informative museum about the history of the surrounding area, the creation of the Willis Tower, the technology behind it and so much more. Of course, the views are absolutely stunning. The staff is friendly and efficient. Once we arrived to the ledge you'll notice that the staff is constantly keeping the glass clean to make for flawless views from over 1,000 feet in the air. I recommend visiting on a weekday. It's why the line was manageable and quick!

Jill W.

Yelp
You simply can't beat the view and the unique experience. Even for my family members who are a bit iffy with heights enjoyed it. If you go to Chicago, it is a must.

Yelp
The Willis Tower formerly known as the Sears Tower in Chicago, imo is a must go as a tourist is you visit the Windy City. Being inside the 1451 feet tall building is extraordinary. Going to the top skydeck is a must! The elevator takes approximately 45 seconds to reach the top from the bottom floor. On top, you will enjoy a 360° view of the city. Windows everywhere for your camera experiences to take spectacular pictures. Ideally, going there should be on a clear day. You'll see the whole city, Lake Michigan, along with the awesome artistic views of far away clouds along the Lake. The skydeck is a transparent box, built with plexiglass and glass for you to walk into to get a real life-like experience walking on air. You'll see everything directly below you. Of course, it's funner if you are afraid of heights. Lol. The time limit for staying in the transparent box is 90 seconds. A worker will take a photo of you, and will offer the picture of you before you you leave to purchase through a photo kiosk. The 360 deck floor also offers a gift shop, a snack store, and a bar for you souvenir needs, and your spirit enjoyment. You may hang out there as long as you want. Overall, it was a great experience. We finished the whole in about 90 minutes. The security along with the staff were very cordial. Yes, security check before going up. Enjoy the adventure!

Yelp
The family and I visited the what it seemed the most visited Chicago attractions, we had tickets for the 4:00pm entrance but it was the entrance to the massive lines to the entrance to the entrance line, and over crowded almost tripping over each other, how ever the view itself was absolutely gorgeous when the crowd let you approach the window, i guess is normal . Service overall was very organized to deal with the massive crowds and almost systematic. Price range seems a bit steep for a basic experience. Cleanliness of the place it was good almost outstanding.

Yelp
Had SO much fun here. Scary to be on the glass just a little bit, but I loved every moment of this experience

Yelp
Willis Tower, formerly Sears Tower, is the icon on Chicago. Most pictures you see out there includes the tower and without it, Chicago might just look like other cities throughout the country. There is no surprise that at one time this was the tallest building in the world. Seeing how the skyscraper got its birth in this city. At street level this looks like every other building when you walk along the streets. But when you look up, you see the scale of it. When compared to nearby buildings, it sticks out and kind of draws you to it. Even though I showed up here on a weekday evening, there wasn't much going on here. I see most people that have reviewed this in the past have made complaints about going up to the top. I'm not going to do that. For one, I already did a review on that for the Skydeck. And two, I wanted to do that and was glad to pay to do that. However, I will say it was much cheaper back then compared to today. If you are here to visit as a tourist and do not work in house, there are a few things to keep you busy beside the view from the top. There is a food court that you can take your pick to eat at. And if I remember correctly a few businesses to browse about. Honestly you really don't need to visit the tower to appreciate it. You can definitely view it from afar. But if you do, you might not get the shear size of the building. You also won't be able to experience the wind tunnel effect you get walking at the base.

Yelp
Every time I visit Chicago, I make sure I don't miss my favorite places ... and Willis Tower is definitely one of my favorite places! Did you know? Willis Tower is 1450 feet high - 1730 feet including twin antenna towers. Willis Tower elevators operate as fast as 1600 feet per minute - among the fastest in the world! Sky deck is the highest observation deck in the U.S. The view is amazing from the top! Make sure to purchase your ticket before you arrive and (at this time) reservations are required! Before you enter the building, you can see a giant public wall art on the foot of the building, called Atmospheric wave wall, created by Olafur Eliasson. And with this, let the photo taking begin! During the walk through, before getting to the elevators to the top, a massive transformation you can see. There are many different type of displays of the city's beauty ... and all of them a photo opportunity! By the time you get to the top, your phone battery will probably be depleted. Lines are moving pretty fast to get to the elevator. There are a general lane, and also a faster moving express lane, depending on your type of ticket you purchased. There are plenty of restrooms both downstairs and upstairs too. When you are upstairs, there is only one little gift shop with very limited choices for drinks, but plenty of gifts and various merchandise. Downstairs, before you leave, there is a massive shopping area, and also a desk where you can purchase photos what being taken by an experienced person/employee. My highlight of this visit of course was the Skydeck, The Ledge! It's always exciting!

Laura D.

Yelp
Ride to the 103rd floor and go out onto the Skydeck! The view is awesome. When you come into the tower, front door staff will guide you on how to go down (yes, down) two floors in order to experience the Skydeck. When you arrive, check with staff at the window to see what the visibility will be before you go up. We went earlier in the day and were advised to come after 2pm because of the fog off Lake Michigan, so that's what we did and it was well worth the wait!
google avatar

Yelp
The ledge was a must in my visit to Chicago. They take a picture with a camera at the top of the ledge and then give you 90 seconds to enjoy and take your own pictures
google avatar

Ayana H.

Yelp
What a beautiful facility! The sky deck experience was unforgettable. We loved the displays to show the rich history of Chicago. We had fun with the photo ops. We will be back to visit the Color Factory.

Gabi Y.

Yelp
I had never been here & of course you have to go when you're in Chicago. The tickets were about $35 per person, which is pretty overpriced I feel like but it is pretty neat to see all the history of Chicago as you walk through. Once you're at the ledge you only get 90 seconds to take pictures. And the views are cool but I'm wondering why they decided to put the ledge on the side they did because it doesn't even overlook the main part of the city. I am glad I did it to experience it but probably will not pay for the tour again.
google avatar

Yelp
definitely a tourist trap but i loved it. great views. the staff here were nice. it did get busy with other tourist but a unique worth while spot to check out.
google avatar

Jaimee M.

Yelp
Formerly known as the Sears Tower (I was informed many times during my visit) haha, was beautiful. There are many restaurants to try and it is conveniently located downtown. I went to the skydeck and enjoyed the pieces of history they depicted of Chicago throughout the walk to the view of the city. This is a great tourist attraction and I would recommend it but probably wouldn't go to skydeck more than once.
google avatar

Ange R.

Yelp
Formerly known as the Sears Tower, it's the best place to get a full view of the beautiful city! If you visit Chicago, this is a great place to be a tourist!

Yelp
What a shit show. where do I start? The only parking garage they dont validate so you're out $50-$60 to start. Then for 3 people over $120 to go up. What do you get for $120 for 3 you ask? 90 seconds on the ledge and a rush to take pictures. Zero down time to enjoy the experience. Speaking of enjoyment, they built it out on the west Loop side so the view is just suburban sprawl on the Ledge. The cool stuff is on the regular window. The gift shop up top is the same as downstairs. NOTHING unique to the experience. Hell, half of it is generic "Chicago" souvenirs marked way up in cost. No cafe, no lounge, no seats even to sit and enjoy the view. Even Los Angeles has better observation decks. This is literal garbage. And the tacky Vegas style tourism photo pushing and theming makes me want to gag.

Yelp
Beautiful Architect Building, This Building Plays a big role in Chicago Skyline, United Airlines' Main Headquarters is here in this Building, Just like Jetblue Airlines is Based in New York, NY (Queens- Long Island city section of Queens, N.Y.C ), Spirit Airlines is based in Boward County/Fort Lauderdale/Miami ( Dania beach) in Florida and Delta Airlines is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and American Airlines Based in Fort Worth, Texas, Frontier Airlines based in Denver, Colorado, Southwest Airlines Based in Dallas, Texas, Sun Country Airlines Based in Minnealopolis, Minnesota, Alaska Airlines Based in Seattle, Washington, Breeze Airways based in Cottonwood heights, Utah ,ETC airlines, Anyhow back to the Willis Tower back then this building was called Sears Tower ( Famously known after the Sears Fashion Department store ) now Sears is an online business, most of Sears in-store Department closed down since filing for bankruptcy -chapter 11, Sears Department stores was based in Chicago, Illinois. The Willis Tower is like the World Trade Center or the Empire State Building & the Williamsburgh Savings Bank /Brooklyn Tower on (Flatbush Avenue, Bklyn) & Hancock Whitney Center in New Orleans, Louisiana or Wilshire Grand Center in L.A., or the Effiel Tower in Paris, Big Ben in London or the Burj Khalifa in Dubai There are important skyscrapers that play big roles in cities that people know, When someone thinks about Chicago you cant forget about Willis Tower /Sears Tower because it plays big role in these cities, Two Thumbs up Chicago on this beautiful Architect -Art Design structure Building !!!! P.S.: This building is literally across the street from 900 building shops so go treat yourself to Bloomingdales Department store, etc store, and also close to Red Line Subway -CTA and CTA bus !!!!

Yelp
Formerly known as The Sears Tower - Willis tower is must do for tourists in Chicago. Besides the amazing part of going up to 103 floor observatory deck, how do you efficiently get thousands of tourists daily up there!? That's what makes this whole operation special. From the moment you enter Willis Tower, you realize everything is well organized. You are conducted through the food court to the lower level where you purchase your ticket. Then through the series of museum-like spots depicting Chicago history and landmarks all the way to the elevator. The ride up takes about a minute and there is a video and narrative depicting what height you are at any given moment as well as how that relates to other buildings around the world. The observatory deck on the 103rd floor is huge and yes it has The Ledge which I chose to bypass as I am faint of heart. The views are - well nothing short of spectacular.... The trip down is equally well organized and staff is very very friendly! Good Job!

Yelp
Good food options and the sky tower to boot. Close to CTA and Metra. Skip the start and end of the workday.

Yelp
Formerly known as Sears Tower. Glad I got the Chicago Attraction Pass. AMBIANCE: Parking: You're in Downtown Chicago, for tourists, we don't usually drive around but rely on public transportation (bus, trains, uber, or walk - if you're close by). However, there is a self-park garage around the area if you need that. Experience: Great! For those that don't know about Chicago, this is a great start! On the first floor, there are a few eateries to get you started. The bottom floor has a selected pop-up museum, before you enter is a museum of Chicago that has a great history from the art, culture, and people. Finally, the floors at the top are beautiful. You get a better view of South Chicago and Lake Michigan. The sky deck (the one where it looks like you're walking on air) is quite the experience. TL;DR OVERALL: 4.5 stars. Lovely! It was an honor to visit the twelfth-tallest building in the world! This is a must if you're in Chicago. The skydeck takes it for me if I had to choose between the two Chicago towers. I don't think it's a one-time experience but an every-time experience whenever you're visiting Chi-City. Tips: * Plan accordingly for weather or daytime/evening views.
google avatar

Mollie G.

Yelp
Get tickets ahead of time otherwise you will need to wait. There are a few options that you can do to pass the time that are located in the building.
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
If you're not afraid of heights, and you want to walk out on a glass window the ledge. This is a place to go. It was fun going through the museum downstairs and then shooting up in the fast elevator to the top floor. I marveled at the stunning vistas of Chicago, observing the bustling city streets and encountering incredibly friendly and humorous locals who eagerly snapped photos. I thoroughly relished the experience and am certain to repeat it in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
What was once the world's tallest building is a must-see tourist attraction if you're in Chicago. The sky deck offers a great view of the city. If you're at the top on a clear day you can see Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan from the top. Besides the tourist attraction, the Willis Tower is also home to residences and office space. If you enter from Franklin or Wacker, you'll be able to get to the businesses operating in Willis Tower. In the lobby area, there are many restaurants that make a great lunch option for workers. Options include Do-Rite Donuts, Shake Shack, and others.

Yelp
Very interesting Architecture history of Chicago walk thru. With the final stop the clear box. You get 90 seconds to take pics on your own. Then they take a picture(one!) which can purchase at the end for an exorbitant fee. I really enjoyed this. They did an amazing job. A little over $40 per person. Completely worth it. Been to Chicago a bunch of times but never went here I'm glad I did it this time

Yelp
Get to the top of Chicago by climbing this famous skyscraper all the way up, or just take an elevator. It's been said this had a name change: whatchu talkin bout Sears? The Willis Tower was named in honor of Bruce Willis, who heroically threw Hans Gruber off the Nakamura Tower. A documentary of it shows it happened on Christmas. Whatever you call this tower, it's fucking humongous. A tourist trap to be sure, but it's fun once or so if you've never been in it before. It may cost a lot getting to the top. The only bad thing about it, but that's expected so whatever. Also this tower actually serves a function. There's lots of of businesses and offices inside. There's not just people coming for SkyDeck. A big food court is inside the main entrance. Overpriced of course, and there's also a pretty fancy restaurant. Most people want to go to the top of course. Takes awhile to get there. Lots of interesting information along the way to read about the history of the building. Things about how and why it was built and stuff. I was impressed the architect Fazlur Rahman Khan was inspired by a pack of cigarettes. The different heights of the tower give it stability. Of course everyone wants to go to the top and act foolish. There you can take pictures while walking on glass. Fun stuff, especially when the glass makes crackles. The first time hearing that it almost made me crap in there. Fun tourist stuff is what it is. It's worth going up to at least once. The rest of the tower is cool too and the two pointy things at the top can change colors for events or whatever.

Yelp
Aug 8, 2023 tuesday: Rsvp time at 630pm to go up. Before heading to the elevator to get up to the 103rd floor there is a maze like city views background that you can take pictures. Also, with the City Pass your entitled to go to the "Expedited " line to go up and when taking pictures on the ledge. They give you 90 seconds to take all the pictures you want after their own picture takes that will cost you $31 for 2 sets of pictures. Views are amazing. Go at night..it's even more beautiful with the city lights. Staff are nice. Souvenirs are expensive! The high life!!!

Yelp
Great experience. At first it was sold out for the day I wanted but when I checked later that night a 10:00 am spot had opened. We enjoyed walking through and reading the information leading up to the edge. Once we got up there were great views of the city. The edge was a little scary at first. They give you 90 seconds to take your own pics. I enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
The sky deck was freaking terrifying lol I am not a fan of heights. But definitely recommend doing it once and knocking it off your bucket list. The wait wasn't very long even considering how busy it was.

Yelp
Awesome building. This is one of those must visit tourist views. I love photography and this building has it all. This is a great city to visit. Will for sure be back.

Yelp
We took a free tour by foot and after learning a lot about the Willis Tower, we decided to check it out and go up to the Sky Deck. Almost wherever you are in the downtown area or near downtown, you can see the monumental view of the Willis Tower...it's difficult to miss and/or not to awe at it. The Willis Tower (originally the Sears Tower) is a 108-story, 1,451-foot skyscraper. It was completed in 1974 as the world's tallest building, a title that it held for nearly 25 years. It is currently the third-tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, as well as the 23rd-tallest in the world. Each year, more than one million people visit the Skydeck observation deck, the highest in the United States, making it one of Chicago's most popular tourist destinations. The building's facade is made of anodized aluminum and black glass. The structure was known as the Sears Tower from its construction until the naming rights were included in a 2009 lease with the Willis Group. Local area residents still refer to the building by its old name. As of April 2018, the building's largest tenant is United Airlines, which occupies around 20 floors.

Yelp
Such a cool place to visit! We will definitely go back. Recommend going at sunset for even better pics.
google avatar

Jane E.

Yelp
Amazing view! Im super scared of heights. This was a tough one but I made it! Wish I took more pics but I did have some anxiety being so high on the 99+ floors. I didn't look down to take the picture. We had to take 3 diff elevators to get to the 99th floor, and another to go to the sky deck.

Yelp
We had a fun visit up the Willis Tower. We got dropped off right at the front of the building, and were confused at first since there were no signs. After walking around a bit, we finally found the entrance on the side of the building. Once inside, there is a food court area with a bunch of different eateries. There are also plenty of tables to eat at that are spread out. After taking the the escalators up, we were finally greeted by the employee. We had purchased our tickets online, so we luckily avoided the line. There were a lot of people ahead of us making their way up the tower. There are plenty of cute photo ops though along the way. Once at the top, the view is great. You see it all at the top. The see through glass has its own line going on. Here we waited about ten minutes until it was our turn. We each got 60 seconds to be able to take some pictures on the see through glass / floor. The gift shop is located right off the elevator on your way down. They had all your typical souvenir stuff, etc. This is a definite must stop when visiting the windy city!

Yelp
My husband and I had to try this destination spot. We bought general tickets and got a 3:30 time slot. It takes a good 45-1 hour to get through before getting to the ledge. Hundreds of people are doing the same. It didn't bother us because it was the experience. Once you get to the ledge each attendant for the 4-6 ledges gives you 90 seconds to take as many pics as you want. Everyone is watching It was fun. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Sky deck was amazing. However afterwards we sat on the stairs of the Willis tower waiting on our ride. The lady asked us to get up and we obliged. Afterwards the security guards came to us saying that the young lady felt uncomfortable and that we had an attitude because i rose slowly due to ankle issues. The management and security were pure trash and put us out in the cold because we didn't move as swiftly as the lady with the lil ponytail asked.

Yelp
pros: bird views, night views cons: nothing else is worthy. i think they know this is not an attraction that worth the ticket so they add some small teasers before you really reach the top of the tower. conconcons: the parking is evil... the parking lot across on the franklins price: 13 for under 20min, then 31,39,49... for the each additional 20mins. also the lot has a really confusing paying system, which can easily eat up 20mins. so folks from countryside just like myself, do pay attention and better move ur ass fast. i also found that those tour biz are really into taking the photo first then trying to sell them to you.

Yelp
The view was amazing...being able to see the great architectures of Chicago to the vastness of the Great Lakes. $44 fee for an adult is a little steep though.

Yelp
We drove all the way to Chicago for our first anniversary. She was looking at the view while I was staring at her

Yelp
I feel like every time you visit a big metropolitan city, you have to visit a tall tower to see and enjoy the views. Therefore here I am at Willis Tower paying a pretty hefty price. The price point was only justified after I went inside and realized that it's not just the views you're paying for, but also the "museum" part of the experience where there's a lot of photo opportunities and history of Chicago. Here are some of my favorite parts: - The Skydeck is truly a great experience. Since you only have around a minute on the platform to take pictures and enjoy the views, it's hard to remember that below your feet, it's completely glass. The best part though is that you will get some sick pictures because the place is really amazing and the workers are quite good at taking pictures. I will say that there is quite a bit of a line for this but luckily there are 4 boxes to take pictures in. - I really like the mockups the "museum" has of other famous buildings in the area. It's interesting to see the model in 3D to then identify later while walking on the streets of Chicago. - I also very much appreciate the 360 views of the place, it's quite beautiful especially seeing Lake Michigan. Overall, good experience at Willis Tower. Not sure if I will shell out this amount again to see the views but glad I done it. But you know, I always wonder why not people just look outside the window while sitting on the airplane to see city skylines. After all, it's free since it comes with your airplane ticket and then you don't have to go to high towers any more.

Yelp
I had never been this high in my life until now. My wife almost couldn't get out of the elevator. Because as you go up the feet just keeps getting higher and higher. I continue to be amazed at the architecture and engineering of Chicago.

Yelp
If you are questioning wether willis tower should be on your list of activities while in town, it should be a big yes! It's just not the skydeck but a fun informational and fun museum like walk through tour right before you ascend to the top. You'll get the best views and pictures from the top. Some critical advice: Do not show up and hope to go straight to the skydeck. Make a reservation. Plan to wait at the lobby in the skydeck to actually step into the glass deck. Lastly, you only get 2-3 minutes to take pictures on the glass deck depending on your party size. We waited about 30 minutes since we went on a Saturday but I hear it's relatively empty on weekdays
