An absolute gem - this small (newly!) Michelin-starred restaurant completely blew me and my partner away. The £35 lunch menu (3 courses plus sides and nibbles!) is, without exaggeration, some of the best value I've ever experienced for food of this calibre.
Every dish was perfectly executed, with an exceptional balance of flavours, originality, and finesse. The ingredients were clearly of outstanding quality: fresh, seasonal (straight from the local farms), and treated with the utmost respect. Presentation was beautiful but never pretentious.
Three highlights among many: the homemade smoky iced tea with lavender - so refreshing, try it; the bread course served with canapés and a luxurious roe cream - simple in concept but incredibly elegant; and a stunning strawberry dessert that managed to be both playful and refined, with layers of flavour and texture (that kind of airy jelly wow!) that lingered long after the last bite.
The service was warm, professional, and perfectly paced without ever being intrusive.
I think this place is a true hidden treasure - refined yet approachable and affordable, generous in both spirit and substance. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
