On the Grid : W/N W/N

"Looking for a caffeine fix with your booze? Then W/NW/N is the place for you. Serving up hot locally sourced coffee and icy cold cocktails. Hungry too? Don’t worry they’ve got dinner during the week, and brunch on the weekends." - True Hand Society

How Coffee Shops Became the Best Places to Drink Wine, Beer, and Cocktails | Bon Appétit

"Philly’s W/N W/N Coffee bar is a bit different than any of the other shops on this list. They open at 4 p.m., stay open until 2 am. and they have a Detroit-style pizza pop-up in the back of the bar. But they do serve A+ local espresso from roasters like Elixr, and their cocktail program is damn good." - ByAlex Delany

This is the perfect marriage of great food and amazing service. You usually get one or the other when dining out. It's refreshing to find that here. The owners, chef, and servers are super friendly and down to earth. I am eager to try more on the menu. You must try the fried chicken sandwich!!!! You'll have a difficult time finding a better one.

Hip, cozy cafe serving a wide variety of coffee and cocktails with a tight selection of local beers, wine, and food. The atmosphere feels like home with a long bar and a few tables in the back. They’ve got a stack of board games and reliable WiFi for entertainment. We dropped by on a Saturday afternoon and found it to be a quiet, convenient retreat for coffee, drinks, and/or conversation. The food menu isn’t expansive, but we had to give it a shot. They focus on comfort food fried chicken and pancakes and a grilled cheese and tomato soup pairing. The menu is printing on the chalkboard so I’m assuming it rotates seasonally. We went with the kale Caesar salad with fried chicken. I’d definitely reiterate what others have said...you’ve got to try the fried chicken! Great spot for a quieter, intimate outing or to grab a cup of whatever you’re craving and get some work done!

Missed my bus and got stranded in the area. Came across great reviews of this place while searching for nearby bars. Gotta say the reviews were right, it's a five star worthy. The owners and bartenders were friendly, down-to-earth dudes. The spot has a warm vibe and the music isn't too loud so it's easy to have a conversation with new people, or keep to yourself and write / read. There's even a bunch of board games stacked near the bar to play. (And major bonus: it was so clean!! Even the bathroom. I haven't been in Philly too long but so far, well-kept facilities seem scarce) Thanks for the good energy and drinks, can't wait to come back.

Well thought out menus and fresh ingredients from local farms. Unpretentious quaint, comfy environment and friendly staff. Great to bring friends who are health conscious, vegan or vegetarians. Nice front store improvement makes it more noticeable. The special farm to table 4 course meals tonight was amazingly delicious and delicately seasoned.

What a great new find! An interesting mix of locally grown vegetables and ingredients prepared in innovative and attractive dishes. The cold tomato soup served with cucumbers was excellent. Exciting salad with many greens and exotic additions. Loved the mushrooms and slaw. The bread was terrific. Tempeh was creatively prepared with vegetables and spices. Whole grain bread was delicious. The staff was attentive to our special eating needs. The service was excellent and the price very reasonable. I will soon return soon and often.

The bartenders are excellent. They seem just as happy to make classic cocktails or to come up with novel based on some limited input. If Pizza Gutt is making pies in the back you can't go wrong.

Very good. We we're lucky to get there on the early side. I loved seeing the coffee cocktails because I'm always looking for it, but I realized I like a simple coffee and Irish creme. Pizza was amazing

I happened upon this coffee bar after a great concert and had the rye chai. Talk about potent! We also caught a few performances that were pretty good. Loved the atmosphere and interactions with the patrons and barista alike. Definitely recommend.
