Best Dishes D.C. Editors Ate This Week: November 20 | Eater DC

"After spotting the original Georgetown location back on UberEats following its long-awaited comeback from fire damage, I went straight for the namesake wings and loved that you can mix and match flavors. I split a 10-piece between napkin-required barbecue and dry-rubbed lemon pepper, neatly packed in foil, and from the daunting list of 20 sauces arranged by ascending heat, even the second-to-hottest wasn’t too spicy in small portions. The sleeper hit was a container of gooey mac and cheese with a crunchy sprinkle of shaved green shallots, and aside from delivery fees, prices are pretty friendly — my eight-piece portion of fat mozzarella tubes with a big marinara tub was a steal at $6.99." - Tierney Plumb

Celebrity Chef Nobu Matsuhisa Is Having a Ball in D.C. | Eater DC

"I saw Wingo’s, the 25-year-old carryout that slathers its coveted chicken wings in two dozen sauces, make a triumphant comeback to Georgetown at 3207 O Street NW after being forced to close in 2018 by a two-alarm blaze; there’s also an additional karaoke-friendly location in Glover Park with $1-wing happy hours." - Tierney Plumb

Georgetown Standby Wingo’s Vows to Rebuild After Fire | Eater DC

"A nearly 20-year-old, two-story carryout that bathes its coveted chicken wings in two dozen sauces and even invites customers to toss beaded necklaces into a neighboring tree says it fully intends to come back after a two-alarm blaze that took several hours to bring under control. Management wrote on social media, “Unfortunately, we must close for now, but we are working to re-open as soon as possible!” The accidental fire started in the kitchen and spread throughout the collegiate favorite on June 26, causing significant damage. Management did not provide a specific timetable or say whether rebuilding will affect plans for a second Glover Park location, but assured supporters, “We promise to come back stronger than ever before!” Meanwhile, a former Wingo’s employee is fundraising online with a $25,000 goal to support the roughly two dozen staff affected by the temporary closure." - Warren Rojas

Stopped for wings, ended up ordering beignets .... because who wouldn't end up ordering beignets instead of wings right? The beignets here are not actually beignets but better. It's fried croissant nuggets bathed in sugar honey syrup and it's my new addiction which I cannot find anywhere else. Wingo's menu offers only three variety themed items 1. fried chicken wings, 2. fried dessert, 3. fried snacks. With 4x4 square feet standing space only for ordering, there is no other space for sitting or eating. Open until 1am, unpretentious, and absolutely genius.

Cyriac E.

Google
The wings here are just okay. They're fried but they didn't come out crispy. I tried wings with the hot honey sauce which wasn't very spicy and I couldn't really taste the honey. I also tried the mango habanero which tasted like regular buffalo sauce to me and definitely couldn't taste any mango. The french fries, however, were very nice and crispy. The place is definitely a takeout place. There are no seats inside but a few tables outdoors.

Google
I love chicken wings. Found this place on a recommendation from a local. I walked well over a mile in the sweltering heat and ate outside. What an experience that was. Sweating not only from the weather but the delicious chicken wings is about as close to a spiritual experience as I’ve gotten. Pictured is the “hot” flavored wings and seasoned fries. I cannot recommend enough. They were amazing. Service was fast and very nice. While I’m not a fan of the ranch I will say the wings don’t need them. They’re excellent without any dipping sauce. If you like wings this place is worth your time and money.

Stopped in a couple weeks ago late night... manager and food were awesome! Hooked me with a great price on wings and fries and gave me free ice cream while I waited. Wings and sauces were great and will definitely be back.

Google
Can't say enough great things. Wingos had the best wings I've eaten in over 25 years. Perfectly cooked. Extra crisp on outside yet still juicy. Would give anything to have one here. The owner and employees were very nice. They even gave us some free desert. Wow wow wow. Soooo delicious 😋..

Darius W.

Google
The food was really good 👍🏾 service was exceptional 👍🏾Scenery outdoors made it even better 👍🏾 my only problem is the seating under the pickup window. Had someone try to reach over our table rather than go inside and pick it up. Maybe they shouldn’t allow seating right under that window or close that window.

Google
This Sunday, I took my daughter to Georgetown for a walk and saw this fried chicken shop. I thought it would be delicious from the pictures. Then I asked the waiter what flavor the fried chicken wings in the picture were. They said the picture was new and they didn’t know which one it was. I really didn’t know what to say. Then we ordered a random set meal. My daughter and I thought it was unpalatable. It was really unpalatable. This was the worst fried chicken and fries I had in the United States in the past ten years. Coke was okay, but it was a canned product of Coca-Cola Company and had nothing to do with them.

Elena K.

Google
Went with 3 people, the service was very nice and the wings were good. BBQ Honey was delish, lemon pepper a little underwhelming, garlic parm was more parm than garlic, “hot” was really good also. Seasoned fries were good. All outdoor seating but atmosphere was good.

Yelp
This place is a carryout place pretty much. Out side of the few tables they have out front on their sidewalk, there is no where else to eat there. You will find a few parking spots on the street in front of the restart and within a reasonable walking distance. They serve wings and tenders with a large selection of sauces to choose from. I placed my order online, so it was ready by the time I got there. I just double parked, like most people do in the city, ran in and got my food. The staff there was very nice. The inside customer area is very small, but I was in and out. I ordered 10 wings, which I thought I ordered in 2 flavors. however it only came in one, mambo. That is ok. The wings were very delicious. I mean like finger licking delicious, packed with flavor. I also got a side of mac and cheese, which was also really good. It was cheesy like I like it, fresh and tasty. All in all, I really enjoyed my meal here. I am always skeptical when a see a restaurant claiming to have the best of something. This restaurant claims to have the best. After eating my meal, I would say there is some truth to that. I highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Need some food after a few drinks on a Friday night. Only take out so not much on the vibe besides the cool look exteriors. Service is exactly what you expect from a friendly take out place. Got the recommendations they are pretty - parma and spicy mango. They were both yummy. The friends are good, well seasoned with not too oily (but still fries).

Yelp
went out for a cigarette around 10pm and was such a hassle to return despite letting the bouncer hostess man know, this was u pleasant but i suppose i understand. just a warning if that's not the bar vibe u prefer. also on sat nights mostly gt students. tried hottest wings and honestly think they could be a lot hotter. ok atmosphère just nothing to bring me back if it wasnt an established hang out already.

Yelp
Wingo's is nothing fancy, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better-run operation with consistently solid food. I've been getting takeout from them since 2008 and don't want to even try to count how many times that must be by now. The turnaround is unbelievable -- I live 8-10 mins and I've had my food in sometimes 20, no more than 25 mins, fresh and piping hot. There's something for everyone (even non-wings items are good), but I highly recommend a variation of BBQ and Hot. It balances sweetness of BBQ without being too Buffalo-ey. Enjoy!

Yelp
I've only tried Wingo's via delivery and the effort was there but it just didn't hit the mark. Everything was prepared and wrapped with care in foil and boxed up but the food across the board just ate very soggy and less than desirable. The menu options are top tier when it comes to wing variety so I need to make into the actual shop for the intended experience.

Yelp
My absolute #2 go to for happy hour and wings. They cook them however you prefer them. The bartenders are cool. The atmosphere is friendly. Mike the owner is really cool to talk with. Great neighborhood bar vibes.

Yelp
Wingo's is hands down my go-to whenever I'm in Georgetown. I'm a regular walk-in for takeout, and the staff always show love--they know what I'm here for before I even say it. The chicken tender combo? Fire every time. Crispy, juicy, seasoned just right, and the portions always hit the spot. The fries are solid too, never soggy, always fresh. It's simple, fast, and exactly what you want when you're craving comfort food that never disappoints. If you're in the area and want something quick and good, you can't go wrong with Wingo's. It's a lowkey gem and one of those spots that always holds it down

William K.

Yelp
The wings were great! My wife food-gasmed over the Parmesan Garlic wings. The seasoned fries were good and the staff was super friendly. The seating is on the sidewalk and the music put out a nice relaxing vibe.

Yelp
Sauce it up - lil Uzi Damn, these wings were really sauced up. Who the fuck cares about Wingstop? Open up one in Glendale please. I'm talking Glendale, CA, the land of my people. No one knows about this place back in California. I would love to franchise one. Hit me up guys

Yelp
When you order wings and include a note about preferring flats or drums, the restaurant does not accommodate. I have had dental work that makes chewing thicker pieces like drums very difficult for me, so the smaller flat pieces are easier to eat. On a recent order of 10 wings I asked for all flats, or even mostly flats. I received 7 drums and only 3 flats, with no explanation. Other than this, their delivery orders are usually accurate and I appreciate that. I would just say to the restaurant: when someone gives you an order note, there could be a medical reason, in this case dental, for why they are requesting it. Perhaps even an allergy could be listed in the order notes. It's not just because they like flats better than drums. Thanks for your consideration of this feedback.

Yelp
Wingo's in Georgetown is a great addition to the neighborhood. The food is always cooked to perfection and the staff is very friendly! A++

Yelp
Ambiance. ... decent ...food... idk. Still waiting for 10 wings. Sipping on my soda watching tables get food that were seated after us... no one checking or anything. Service is insane. I'm hoping it's not because my fiance & I stick out like a sore thumb. WILL NOT RETURN!

Yelp
The wings are large enough, nicely cooked, and crispy. However, I was very disappointed in the sauce... The buffalo sauce was completely tasteless. Hardly any flavor apart from the spice. While it's nice to have a variety of sauces, but when the buffalo sauce is bland you don't really have much of a foundation. I also have something against any wing restaurant that serves store-bought blue cheese salad dressing instead of making their own blue cheese sauce... C'mon man. Bottom line: Average wings that will satisfy sudden cravings.

Yelp
Wingos is owned by Dave and Mike and has been around since 2002, serving up DC with some tasty wings! If you're not in the mood for wings, their menu also offers burgers, sandwiches, ribs, wraps, soups, salads, chili, chicken tenderloins, breakfast items, desserts, and various sides. The hubs and I put an online order in for Lemon Pepper wings and Hot Garlic - the wings were meaty, juicy, well-sauced, and tasty! You can customize whether you want a mix, or only drums or flats, which I thought was awesome. You can also asked for how you'd like your wings to be cooked - YAY! We also tried their fries, and they reminded me of what you get from the boardwalk - these were just so amazing!!! They were hot out of the fryer, crispy, well salted, and just so so so addicting! Mr. Mike was there, and he was just so welcoming, super friendly, and very very sweet. He really cares for his customers, and you can't help but to fall in love with this place! I can't wait to go back and try out their other flavors, such as the BBQ Hot, Hot Honey, Teriyaki, and the Honey Mustard, their burgers, and their ribs! This wing spot is definitely a gem - if you're a wings person, definitely check this local spot out! Just note that this place gets packed, and it's more of a carry-out; they do have some tables outside, but be prepared to take your orders to-go. +tasty wings! +awesome fries! +ask for Mr. Mike! :D +limited table seating (more of a to-go place) +limited metered street parking

Yelp
Delicious wings! I eat a lot of wings and these are some of the best that I've had. It's a Lovely takeout restaurant that does provide a few outdoor table in front. So be advised this isn't a big place or somewhere that's going to accommodate large parties. However, your large party can certainly order here and eat elsewhere just fine. I tried 4 flavors which were all delicious and very saucy. The have a nice crispy texture as well. They pack a lot of flavor in the sauces here and I was extremely happy with my order. The fries are also worth getting, nice seasoning and they remind me of carnival fries. They offer other menu items here and by how busy they were I felt the locals value this place as much as I did. The staff is super organized and friendly, I was very impressed how authentic they were. This is a high quality restaurant and I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Back from school and went out with some peeps to Georgetown. We were craving some wings and winded up at this little treat. It's tucked away along a strip mall on the side of a corner, of...I forgot what street. BUT! When we got there it wasn't what I thought it would be, it turns out it's a take out place more than sit and fine in. There were seats provided outside and lights which would be pretty nice during the summer but it was just cold. We were kinda skeptical of it at first but then we realized customers kept pouring in and ordering waiting outside, so we decided to stick and order here. Thank God we ate here, the price was not expensive at all. They gave so much seasoned French fries, I got the Hoya burger and 1/2lb angus was too much for me so we shared. The wings were spicy and hot, temperature and taste wise. We were pretty hungry so we ate everything, it was worth it.

Yelp
My favorite wings spot in the world!! I give it a 4 because their Georgetown location isn't open anymore and I loved that location better. My go to is lemon pepper. So good.

Yelp
Woot, Woot! Five stars for a fun, local wing shop with tons of sauces, fast delivery and reasonable prices. My husband and I ordered delivery from Wingo's on a Saturday. It was really easy and their website lets you customize your order. Our food was also delivered promptly. I ordered a ten piece boneless wing (called the "personal order") with the Bite Me sauce. The Bite Me sauce is their hottest sauce and it lives up to the hype! Very spicy. The boneless wings are also very large and ten is a ton of food. My husband also ordered wings and an Italian sandwich. He really enjoyed both. They have a lot of fun menu options. My only criticism is that they don't offer carrots, just celery. I also suggest you use your own ranch as theirs is not made in-house. Overall, Wingos is a great wing joint with convenient delivery options!

Yelp
BEST CHICKEN WINGS I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Seriously, this place is the BEST! They don't even have a restaurant. It's a carryout only place and SUPER casual. You place your order at the front, specifying the type of chicken, with bones or boneless, and the dipping sauce. I ordered the spicy garlic wings (10 of them), while my fiancé ordered the honey bbq (10 of them as well). We both ordered ranch sauce with it, but they honestly don't even need sauce - they're ambrosial on their own! HOLY COW (or chicken, rather). Each one of those chicken wings were absolutely divine. I ate every single last one, despite being very full! The spicy garlic was absolutely perfect. This place is conveniently located on Wisconsin Ave in Georgetown and I am jealous of everyone living near there. If I lived close by, I'd be getting Wingo's to go at least twice a week!! You place your order and either wait outside on a bench or you can walk around (generally takes around 10-15 minutes for your food to be ready). We opted to walk to a bookstore nearby while we waited. Oh. My. God. The best wings ever. I'm not even kidding. This place is extraordinary. Heaven!

Yelp
Lip smackin'....Bone suckin'....Finger lickin' GOOD! Housed in a very small, somewhat incognito space....in the Georgetown neighborhood of DC is.........The best place to get your wing fix on period!! Wingo's has been around for a long time and still a high contender for the best wings in DC!...imho. One taste and you will know what I'm talking about. Those from DC know the protocol and ordering decorum of this tiny place. You walk in, place your order, wait outside for your name to be called...and your foodie joy is served in a few short minutes piping hot! Only one note of Caution!...Be careful not to trip at the door tho' when ordering.....because you might just hit your head on the ordering counter or cash register! LOL! No kidding! The storefront space is just that small. But, make no mistake about it....Wingo's is legit! It is my go to spot when I have that foodie craving for the fine carryout dining or delivery of good buffalo-wing style chicken elbows and forearms. There are over 20 flavors to choose from! From the mildest 'Honey Mustard' and 'Terryaki'..... to the "pour lighter fluid on it and light a match" --boiler point sauces like...'Suicidal' and 'Bite Me!' I tend to stay on Mild to Sizzling side of the flavor scale. My favorites are the: 'Lemon Pepper' - THE BEST...of all the flavors! Bursting with bites of citrus and the right tang...with specs of course pepper that seem like its tickling the back of my tongue! The flavor is not held back on this one and is seasoned to the bone. 'Hot Garlic' - The flavor profile of this sauce hits you all up front. It's somewhere in the middle of a Buffalo sauce with Garlic powder sprinkled over the wings as a finisher. For anyone concerned about the heat....it's not hot at all. Both are really good and got that fool-proof flavor profile where its all about enjoying the wings....and not tearing up or crying over them! LOL The wings overall are of good size. I normally order a 10 pc and can barely finish them! The meat is well-seasoned and cooked perfectly... done all the way through, but still moist. And, as a true Southerner, the best part of their wings...is that they have crisp-crunchy bone edges! You know!?...The phenomenon when chicken is fried right, the ends of the bone is practically edible!! HAhahaa.....Sorry, I digress....anyone from the south know what I mean! If I had to point a visitor or my out of town guests to the decent wing spot in the city (especially from the South or Upstate New York).....Wingo's is where I would point them. I have only tried the wings but they offer a myriad of other foods like....Burgers, Sub Sandwiches, Soups, Salads...and Desserts....such as the "Puff Daddy" -- Funnel Cake like fried dough; dusted with powder sugar and strawberry glaze!....Yumm!! My mouth is watering and waist actually got bigger just talking about it!! I duly give them my coveted....Certified "Hittin' N Stickin'!" stamp of approval!!

Yelp
Sighhhhhhhh. That is all I can say. I was at work with my coworkers pondering on what we should have for work. Someone said Wingos, so of course I whip out the ol' trusty Yelp app to verify the rating. Currently it has 4-stars. (Keep this number in mind). Now before I get into my review, this is for my own personal experience and should not steer you from eating here. That being said.. My rating is not a glitch. I give this place 2-stars. Yes. 2. T-W-O. T-O. T-O-O. T-E-W. T-E-A-U. All of it! I seriously could not believe it was given a 4 after eating the wings. I ordered the Wingo's special which was 8wings, french fries, and a soda. I ordered Hot Honey, and Lemon Pepper (a safe pick just in case the hot honey wasn't good). We ordered them for delivery and just a heads up...you MUST use your credit card. You can't pay with cash as an option and must use the plastic. When the food arrived the fries were soggy but were ok when I dipped them in ranch. My first bite into the Hot Honey..smh nothing but a very bland wing with little flavor. The wing actually had all the sauce in the world on it and it STILL tasted like nothing. I almost thought I was eating a wing with red food coloring instead of actual flavoring. Next up were the Lemon pepper..How could you mess up this flavor? By OVER-seasoning to where you feel dehydrated from all the salt entering your mouth. Haysewce! (Jesus) I seriously think I was made a bad batch. Because it can't be this bad if everyone is giving it 4 and 5 stars..Even my coworkers were not satisfied with their order and ended up not finishing their wings. I always give places two chances before I never return..but for this place I'll give it one more try...only if someone else pays for it. I won't be tricked into wasting my money again. Nope.

Yelp
I've been seeing this place on Yelp and decided to order in to the office for lunch on this rainy day. I placed the order via Yelp and it was delivered by Eatstreets. I ordered the Hoya burger minus tomatoes simply because I loathe them. I got the combo which came with fries and a canned drink. My co worker got a wrap and another co worker went with the wings(plain). The food was delicious! I'm VERY picky about "meat" in general. The burger was cooked well done, just the way I like it. It came with lettuce, onions, cheese, avocado and bacon. It was HUGE!! I could only eat half, but I love that it was enough for leftovers. My co worker loved her wrap which came with chips and the other co worker raved about the wings. Other office members were dipping in her wings as well. They all wanted to know when I plan to order again. Two thumbs up!!

Yelp
Wingo's has been my go-to wing stop ever since undergrad (now further away than I care to admit). Now, I'm not here to bore you with how delicious their wings are (Wingo's special, boneless, Mambo, seasoned fries, blue cheese dressing..... that's all you need to know). Let's talk about their very underrated desserts. Do you like cheesecake? Of course you do. How about fried food? Well, you're planning on eating chicken wings, so... Then you have to try the Wango Tango at least once. The Wango Tango is a deep fried plain cheesecake that you definitely do not need but absolutely deserve. I like to get mine with a nice healthy portion of butterscotch poured over top. It is served room temperature as warm cheesecake would be... odd. The Wango Tango is absolutely crave-able and something I like to save as a special, occasional treat. The cheesecake itself is delicious and very smooth yet dense. Highly suggested! Anyone that has read any of my other reviews knows that I am constantly on the hunt for the best cinnamon roll DC has to offer. And Wingo's offers a very fluffy Gourmet Cinnamon Mega Roll with standard sugar icing. Is it the best I've had? No, but what could be better than a wing spot serving cinnamon rolls!? Heat this guy in the microwave for 30 seconds and enjoy. And, please, message me with your suggestions for cinnamon rolls to try!! TL;DR: Go to Wingo's for the wings but be adventurous and check out their full menu every now and then!

Yelp
I have been wanting to eat wings here forEVER. I walk by here all the time and think about ordering but it never works out. I was taking a yoga class nearby the other day and decided to grab a late breakfast/bring some wings home. I wanted to order two breakfast sandwiches, egg and cheese and one bacon egg and cheese and the problems started then. The guy taking my order could not understand what I was saying at all; when we took it slow and I listed exactly everything I wanted, with bread/cheese/condiment specification, it seemed to click. I also ordered 10 wings medium with ranch. About 15 minutes later my food was ready and I was on the road to deliver breakfast to a friend. I open the bag and see the first mistake. The guy didn't listen to me and put both sandwiches on croissant when I only asked for one like that. Ok, good thing croissants are amazing and everyone likes them. Then another mistake- I asked for both sandwiches to have scrambled eggs but one has fried eggs and another has scrambled. Ok, eggs are eggs I guess. The one for my friend was missing the bacon I paid extra for...Strike 3. I get this place specializes in wings but a breakfast sandwich is literally the easiest thing in the world- if you can't get it right, its kinda concerning or you should not offer them. Wings did not taste medium but maybe their level of spicyness here is different than I am used to. Another disappointment is that a specialty wing place serves Kens ranch cups instead of having their own ranch, really? The wings were also a bit greasy and made my stomach hurt. Nothing special honestly, just an average place. Sad I had hyped it up for so long to be let down.

Yelp
Ordered 20 bone in wiI loved their Hot buffalo wings but their old bay dry rub was awful. It was as if they dumped the entire container of seasoning on to the wings. They were sooo salty. I would try them again, but I will definitely only get the buffalo flavors. After messaging with Mike the owner, my roommate and I tried Wingo's out again. First things first he's super nice guy and reached out immediately. We loved the Medium bone-in wings and the Old Bay were on point! Thanks so much Mike, we will definitely order Wingo's again!

Yelp
The BEST bang your gonna get for your buck on wings. If your looking for a quick late night stop for wings in D.C., this is your place. The flavor is spot on and the heat is out of this world (if you want it hot). DO NOT underestimate the heat. My boyfriend and I got nuclear wings and we were dying after the second wing or maybe even the first (btw we are Asian and not unfamiliar to spice). I am definitely going back to try their suicidal next, but not without some ice cream on hand. FYI, there are three tables outside so you are probably going to take these wings to go.

Yelp
My cousin and I had a craving for some good chicken wings and Wingo's did not disappoint. We were outside of the delivery area so we had to trek it down to Georgetown to pickup our order. On the way there we received a call that our order was ready for pickup. That was super fast! The traffic wasn't too bad but there was no place to park on the street....that's not unusual for Georgetown. I got out to go inside while my cousin circled the block. There were a few tables outside of the restaurant where patrons could enjoy their food. The inside however was very small and there was no room to eat. You basically go inside and pay for your food and then take it to one of the small tables outside or just back home. The staff was super friendly so we left a tip in the jar next to the register. They even said thank you....and here I thought manners were becoming scarce amongst human interaction.   The menu and customizable options are amazing! You can choose from a long list of flavors, whether you want your wings fried hard, how much sauce you want, whether you want drums or flats, whether you want toppings on your fries or a different side all together etc. This had both of us very surprised and excited to try them out. We ordered online and the process and interface were both smooth and easy to use. I ordered the "mombo" wings (not to be confused with mumbo) and my cousin got the "golden bbq". I got drums and she got a mix of drums and flats. They drums/flats were a good size and very meaty. The meal we got was $12.99 for 10 wings, fries, and a soda. A great deal indeed, I will definitely be returning. I took off a star because of the lack of parking and I was confused about the mombo vs mumbo wings. The mombo wings reminded me of a sweet Asian chili taste. The good thing is you have a ton of flavors to choose from and next time I think I'll try another flavor.

Yelp
After finding out my partner has been wanting to go there since the people on his favorite radio show have given this place a major shoutout, I just had to take him here... Considering this is my #1 wings place in DC since my college days. I got the honey BBQ wings (my fave kind of wings) and tried the bourbon wings for the first time. Those were pretty good, different taste. My partner got the hot garlic and the mild wings. It was very difficult to tell which was which, but they were pretty decent. We got them with Cajun fries and a drink (the special with 8 wings, $12.99). Overall solid meal. Filling for sure. Love this place! Net tinge I want to try the BBQ hot

Yelp
I ordered delivery to my hotel, and decided to try the half-rack of ribs and a garden salad. The ribs were meaty (huge portion), but strangely lacking in flavor. The BBQ sauce was mostly tomato and had very little character. The rib meat was slow-cooked, though parts of it got a bit dry. The salad was large -- order the extra salad dressing (I didn't) and fresh and tasty. Delivery was on-time.

Yelp
Decent and huge chili cheese beef hot dogs and fries was what I ordered here. I received 10% off of my order (Thanks Yelp!) but actually got 20% off because they had like a double coupon match day or something. I'm not used to paying $12 for hot dogs, but these babies were huge! My apple bites were cooked too long and were not very aesthetically pleasing to the eye, so in the trash they went. There's no indoor seating. Be prepared to wait upwards of ten minutes on your food. Overall, decent experience.

Yelp
Welcome to the best wings place in DC. Fresh, crunchy, hot and loaded blue cheese. It's located not far from M street Georgetown. They have some outside sitting area. It's actually nice to sit there, enjoy the nice weather and munching some wings. However, order for take out when the weather is not nice because they don't have indoor sitting area. I moved to D.C. From buffalo and they are as good as the wings in buffalo. We even try the plain one so that we know how it taste. And even the plain one is gooooooooood. And one thing, they are not joking with the blue cheese. They gave us 6 packs of blue cheese for 20 wings we ordered. Suggestion, maybe put some carrots and celery for extra. So happy that I finally find my wings here in D.C.

Yelp
I ordered chicken tenders in the flavor Mombo with blue cheese on the side AND OH MY GOD I think it was the best chicken tender I had ever eaten in my life. And I have never had mombo/mumbo in my life but that was amazing (I had someone say it was comparable to Sweet Heat sauce from Popeyes). Also It came out in like 3 minutes HOT The tenders were HUGE like donkatsu (pork cutlet) AND THE CHICKEN was juicy, breaded PERFECT (like it didn't fall apart or get too wet or greasy or soggy) like it made the fork look weak They spelled it Mombo but I think google spelled it Mumbo? Sorry if I am spelling it wrong but that flavor was the WAY TO GO 4 LARGE tenders for 9 dollars (one order) was the best thing I could have bought on that street and this is coming from a person that generally always prefers wings to tenders. I bet their wings are amazing too. Definitely would come again.

Yelp
We ordered delivery to our hotel on our first night in DC. Boy oh boy... I had the meltdown burger and he had the wingos original burger. We made them combos so we could have fries and a drink. This is what I'll say, everything was great. We really could have split one order of fries between the two of us so I'll keep that in mind for next time. My meltdown burger was good. It needed something though.. like a sauce. His burger was amazing! Every time he bit into it, he moaned like it was the first time lol. I finally had to taste for myself and I could see why!! It was delicious. The sauce that comes on it was great! I was a little jealous. I also ordered the little funnel cake bite things with strawberry sauce. Could've did without those. They were ok but not great. Will Def be back when we go to DC

Yelp
Hands down the best wings I've had in DC in a long time. The lemon pepper wings were seasoned so well and cooked perfectly. I loved the seasoned fries. I also had a garden salad that was surprisingly green (no iceberg lettuce ) and full of flavor. The spicy chicken egg rolls were not spicy but were alright to kick things off. I enjoyed my food thoroughly. The downside was the wait; ordered my food at 8:00 and got it at 9:30. I asked for Minute Maid fruit punch but received Hawaiian Punch instead. I will return!

Yelp
Greasy Wings During my vacation to Washington D.C,I came here to eat after spending 20 mins to find parking. I ordered the Wingo Special for $12.99. My wings were just to greasy and did not contain enough sauce, a simple fix for most places I would have thought. I went to the cashier carryout window to ask for more sauce but the Asian guy with very strong accent told me ,I would have to pay for more sauce. I explained to him I just wanted more sauce he told me no !!! if I wanted more sauce I would have pay for it (in rude voice) . So I said forget just give me a refund I will not pay for nasty wings and a bad tude.. The manger working there give me a refund and another order of wings, he was very professional and you can tell he cared about giving good customer service .As a tourists i would not go to a place like this again because there are to many other places in the area with better food and customer service.

Yelp
Great food and service! They delivered my inline order before the estimated time. Packaging is very impressive! Thank you will order again!

Yelp
I usually have the half smoke whenever I visit but tonight I had a pork roast on my mind. I ordered the Mombo wings as an appetizer and they were off the bone sublime! But what was this? Why there was plenty of that fifth-dimensional sauce left and I had an idea! It went straight on my roast which is slow cooking as I write this review. The house is filled with such a wonderful smell and there is going to be some serious carnivorous things happening in here soon! Wingo's should patent and bottle the Mombo to sell to District residents traveling abroad! People will take one taste and give the District Statehood!

Yelp
The wings are good. The service , specifically from the large Asian man, keeps this from being a 5 star. Not once , not twice but all 3 times he is on another level.

Yelp
solid spot for hot wings with a variety and level of spiciness. i got suicidal and couldn't finish my whole order but they were tasty! meat was a little dry, but overall good texture and enough sauce too. nice little hole in the wall, definitely will be getting more from here!

Yelp
A nice hole-in-the-wall tucked away in a back part of Georgetown. On the outside there were four tables for two people, and several seats up against the store. Inside it's real homely inside with no seats on the inside. They also have a bird feeder next to two of the tables, which was a little off-putting to me. I went with my girlfriend and while I got the fried chicken sandwich, she got an order of ten wings and the fried ravioli. The fried ravioli was great. Crunchy on the outside and cheesy on the inside, the fried ravioli were great. I really enjoyed my chicken sandwich as well. It comes with a choice of four sauces: mild, mrdium, hot, and mambo. I got the hot sauce and it was like a tastier version of Tabasco. The breading with nice and crispy with good seasoning. The chicken on the inside was juicy as well. The sandwich was pretty big and was satisfying. I didn't think it was worth it to get fries and a drink for an extra $3. My girlfriend was a little disappointed with her wings. Nice and crunchy on the outisde, but the meat on the smaller drumsticks were a little tough from being fried a little too long. Her lemon-pepper wings were a tad salty, but the mambo wing sauce was great. Think Asian zing from Buffalo Wild Wings, but less artificial. Overall I'd give it a solid 4 stars for my experience. I'd like to come back again for more delicious goodness like their fried cheesecake

Yelp
I live right in georgetown, this is my go to spot for wings. They also do catering and is always a fan favorite among my guest. I would try this place if you love wings!!!

Yelp
Such a tiny place but WOW awesome wings. They are good size, and we tried multiple flavors - all good!! The fries are always pretty scrumptious as well. Decent prices. The fried desserts taste just like fried desserts, which is always a good thing in my book.

Yelp
This is about as good of a take-out wing experience as you can ask for in DC. The quality of the food is pretty great. The only discounting factors are that our food was a little cold and we were there early and had to wait for the order which didn't make a ton of sense. Also, while there are a ton of factors that make this place awesome, they weren't the best wings I've had. There are a lot of ways that this place wing place wins, parking is relatively easy on this part of O St, they give you a TON of options to make sure your wings are exactly how you like them, service was fast in our experience, it was cheap, and food was good. First, it's metered street parking on O Street and it's far enough off of M street that it was easier to park. We didn't have any trouble on a Sunday night during half time of the Redskins game. The seating outside is made of 3 small 2 seat tables, and there is no indoor seating. They have a small cash register area inside that's about the size of a closet and a walk-up order window. Our order was incredibly neatly packed which was awesome. I would feel comfortable picking up for a ton of people because of how nicely packaged everything was. Their website is pretty well designed. They have AWESOME ordering options. Focusing on wings first, you can choose all drumsticks, all flats, or a regular mix of the two and there is no difference in price. They also have boneless, but I don't know if they cost more. Next, you can choose if you want your wings extra crispy or regular, and choose if you'd like a regular amount of sauce, extra sauce, light sauce, or no sauce with no difference in price. They have a great variety of flavors and a ton of sides. We ordered a lot of wings for a group, we tried the hot, medium, mild, mango habanero, hot barbecue, and hot garlic wings. We tried both extra sauce and regular sauce combinations. The wings that had the regular sauce were dressed with a standard amount of sauce. The wings with extra sauce were swimming which would be great with fries. The sauces all in all were a few degrees milder than what you would get with the same name at Buffalo Wild Wings, with the same flavor, which I enjoyed. The barbeque sauce was Sweet Baby Ray's brand. We also tried the jalapeno poppers and the mozzarella sticks which were great standard fried bar food. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Two and a half stars. Delivery time was a touch long, but there were good-sized wings. Mambo sauce was boring, but Bite Me had a decent kick; should've tried mango habanero, bourbon, or jalapeno lime. Fries were still kinda crispy since the sauced wings were isolated by a nest of foil. I'm intrigued by their fried cheese ravioli, southern fried chicken, chili cheese fries, and chicken pot pie, but a friend's food poisoning incident keeps me wary.

Yelp
My friend and I have been craving wings for weeks. We had planned to stop in Wingo's but since there was no seating, we kept putting off a visit. Then we found out that they have a great delivery area and decided to order a bunch of wings while working on a Sunday. It was one of the best professional decisions I have ever made. We ordered online, which was really easy. We got two personal orders ($10.99) of wings, which each included 10 wings. We choose to have BBQ Honey and Medium wings. Thanks to another reviewer, we found out that you can order all flats for the same price, which is the greatest thing ever!! The personal order also came with a ton of ranch or bleu cheese, and there was quite a bit of meat on each wing. I really enjoyed the medium wings. The flavor was great. The BBQ honey were very thick and rich, but I just like spicy wings better than BBQ. The delivery fee was only $3, the delivery took a little over an hour, and our driver was efficient even in the rain. We will totally order from here again soon.

Yelp
I ordered this thing called a 'wango tango' because it was a cheesecake, covered in a funnel cake and then deep-fried. Yessir. Someone actually thought to do something like that. I'm not sure what part of the process produced the effect, but the thing was pretty good. The cheesecake somehow got creamier and coupled with the crunchy, eggroll like cover, the textures were interesting. However, it took a long time to get to me. And the staff is, at best, neutral and maybe even a tad unprofessional. I know, I know, it's like penalizing an NYC street vendor for looking dirty, but still. Smile, man, life's not that bad. And the girl, I think, rolled her eyes when I asked her if she thought the wango tango was totally grando. Well, I didn't say it exactly like that, but you know what I mean. There is one table and two chairs and a bench right outside, so one could sit and enjoy their deep fried sweets. Also, they have this quirky thing where you can throw some beads that they provide into the tree branches above. Apparently, it's good luck. I guess.

Yelp
Props galore to wingos. Favorite delivery indulgence. Best newly discovered menu items: Mediterranean salad and hot wings. Tried and true: brisket sammich, tuna sammich, burgers, chicken tenders with honey mustard (best ever), potato skins, and milkshakes... Today I appreciated the extra care they took to properly package everything. Keep up the terrific work, wingos!
