Winston Pies Bakes Up a Sunny New Location Along West Third Street - Eater LA

"The diminutive new bakery Winston Pies has opened in the always-busy West Third Street dining corridor. The casual shop offers hand pies, slices, whole pies to go, and coffee. The location features a small banquette, a few tables near the front, and a shaded patio in the back. Winston Pies operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, extending to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays." - Farley Elliott

Popular Winston Pies Expands to a Prime Spot on West Third Street - Eater LA

"Winston Pies has signed on to expand into the defunct juice company’s former West Third location as well. The company, run by owner Brianna Abrams, focuses on whole pies and pieces by the slice, as well as a slew of hand pies, small bites, and drinks. That first outlet has proven popular, so the company is branching into a new phase with an even more accessible address in the heart of thrumming West Third Street." - Farley Elliott

Really disappointed in my experience at Winston’s today and I am not the type to ever leave public reviews. We walked to come try some pie for the first time here — only to not be served because they don’t accept cash. I understand that “most” people don’t use cash, and I am one of them. But to not accept cash as a business while turning away a paying customer who is standing there in the business ready to give it some hard earned money is pretty wild to me. There’s no reason to not accept cash and the businesses that don’t are simply lazy. 3rd Street brings a lot of tourism. Tourists typically pay with cash so I could imagine that Winston’s has turned away a lot of business just like they did me. The young workers had literally no regard in refusing my business and that was also disappointing. If the business reads this, you obviously don’t think it’s a big deal to not accept cash but I’d highly recommend you change your policy and to be more grateful for people willing to give you their money. You aren’t doing anyone a favor by serving us pie, and people need to remember the relation of business to consumer. The restaurants, like Winston’s, that have normalized not accepting cash need a reality check. Just based on principle alone, you guys didn’t just lose my business today but all my future business and my friends and family. I’m not one to take something like a cash payment this far but it’s really disappointing.

Google
Service was super quick and friendly. I tried their cranberry orange chess pie and it's my new favorite pie Update: 02/08/2022: Went back to try other items. If you are a pie crust fan you're going to love their pie bites. The star of these treats is the ultra flaky crust.

Google
this is my favorite winston’s location that i’ve been coming to for a few years. i usually get coffee or pie, and i’ve been helped by devan, shelby & marina pretty often and each time they all go above and beyond, and everyone is so friendly!

Tastes great! Really enjoyed the pecan pie and winter berry pie! Who is Winston? It's not who, it's where! Is it me or does it taste better the next day after being refrigerated?

Google
Shelby was so nice to talk to and made me an amazing pecan pie latte! P.S. love the cute Dale Earnhardt drawing

Google
Cherry pie and chocolate pie were our favorites. The cherry was sweet without being over the top or artificial - apparently they use a dark cherry in their pies. The chocolate was also not too sweet and you didn’t feel overwhelmed by eating the entire slice (guilty face).

Google
Just had the cookie dough pie yesterday and it blew my mind! So gooood! And the other pies were delish as usual!

Google
Loved the vegan gluten-free crumble pie and vegan cherry pie and the chocolate pie. Very good and friendly service.

Yelp
Tried the Chocolate Cowgirl, and if you're a chocolate lover, this one hits hard. It's thick, super rich, and leans on the sweeter side. The crust isn't your usual pie crust--it's got this granola oat thing going on, which actually balances the chocolate really well. They offer three size options: a standard slice, a mini pie (available for three flavors), and a whole pie if you're really committing. If you want something indulgent, this is a solid pick, but be ready for the chocolate overload.

Yelp
Very typical for Winston Pies location, small, lovely display case, excellent service. Parking situation not great as is typical for West Hollywood.

Yelp
WINSTON PIES has been on my bookmarks for years. I finally had the chance to do so! The location is a bit landlocked, though extremely popular. Metered parking is available on the street. Winston Pies have an indoor dining area, but we ordered ours to go. Their KEY LIME PIE is very good. The "lime" flavor did not taste "chemical"-like and had just the right amount of tartness. The crust was buttery, sweet and crumbly, but still held its shape. The dollop of whipped cream on top was the perfect balance to the tartness. The COWGIRL CHOCOLATE PIE was also very good.

Yelp
I've been walking by them for a while now but have always known if I go in, then I won't come out, haha. That's how much I love pie. But after an appointment next door I decided to give them a try. When I first walked by, I thought they were closed because not a soul was in there. And again, when I walked in. So that wasn't a good impression with no customers. But I popped in anyway. Friendly customer service, nice selection, and what looked like a nice patio. They had a few options to choose from, but I decided on their Cookie Dough, Triple Chocolate & Pecan. They were all fantastic! I'd definitely recommend them if you have a sweet tooth and enjoy pie. I know my family and I will be back to try more flavors and drinks.

Yelp
The walnut pie was really good but the apple pie was a bit more ordinary than the walnut pie. But I really like the walnut pie here.

Yelp
I love this little pie shop. I first visited their Brentwood store a few years ago and thought it was fabulous. I'm so happy they opened up a shop on Third. It is one of the few pie shops on the Westside. Most of the other ones I've seen are in the Valley. There is one more Winston location in Santa Monica. They also ship nationwide. This location has metered parking on the street. Pie flavors rotate seasonally. The current flavors are Harvest Apple Pie, Carolina Classic Cherry, Mixed Berry Pie, Southern Pecan Pie, Cowgirl Chocolate Pie, and Key West Lime. The Pecan Pie and the Mixed Berry Pie are both gluten free. The Mixed Berry Pie is the only vegan option. All pies are vegetarian. Most of the pies were in the display case except for the Key Lime Pie which needs to be refrigerated. There are different ways to order a pie flavor at Winston. You can get a slice of pie for $8.50, pie bites (cookie size) for $2.25 or hand pies from $5 to $6 (tart size), a mini pie for $12 which serves 2-3 people, or a full sized pie for $59. The mini pies are my pie of choice. I think mini pies make excellent gifts for individuals or couples because they are super cute and you get 2-3 slices of pie which is the perfect amount. It's also great for larger families because they can try more flavors of pie! On this particular day the Mixed Berry Pie on display was what I was drawn to. It just looked super fresh and appealing. It is made with blackberries and cranberries and topped with an oat crumble. It was a great choice. Both tart and sweet this pie satisfied all of my cravings. I purchased a key lime mini pie as a gift. It looked really good as well. It has hand squeezed limes and a graham cracker crust. The receiver was extremely pleased and told me a few days later that they loved it and thought it was delicious. The pies come in a beautiful box. I really like that the boxes also have stickers on them that say what is inside the box as well as how to store the pie. Additionally, their online website has a page with reheating instructions which is very useful since I ordered my pie to take home and I used the website for reference on how to reheat. You could 100% eat in the shop as well. There is seating at a counter, table seating inside, and an outside table and chairs. If you eat at the shop you can order the pie a la mode or with whipped cream. I'm not sure if there are vegan add-ons. I topped my pie at home with some vegan ice cream I had in the freezer and it paired beautifully with my vegan pie. In case you were wondering, Briana Abrams, the founder, comes from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and that is where the name "Winston" comes from. Another thing that needs to be said about Winston Pies is that they are all made from scratch and they try to use local and organic ingredients whenever possible which I applaud. Local and organic produce usually tastes better and is also supposed to be more nutritious while also being good for the environment and supports the local community at large. Overall, this place is just so special. I hope to come back soon. The employees were also "as sweet as pie". Pi Day (March 14) is just around the corner but any day is a good day to treat yourself to a Winston pie! Technical Note: I'm not sure why all my pictures did not attach to my review. If you are a picture person like I am you can see my photos by clicking the words "17 photos" which is at the top of this review under the star rating when on a desktop.

Yelp
The pecan pie was delicious, flaky crust and not too much goo to pecan ratio it was just about right. Lots of options here including gluten free so that's a win for some folks. Counter service was friendly and the space was nice for enjoying the slice. Not a lot of tables or space inside but I think most folks pick up and go.

Yelp
Delicious, bought their individual apple pies and they were a real treat. Looking forward to going there again.

Yelp
I walked in here AFTER hot yoga! I only intended to get a cup of coffee but the there was a friendly worker type person in there who offered to give me pie in exchange for money. What was a Gyal to do?!!! I got the lemon bar pie. It was so good I sobbed a fat tear of ecstasy.

Yelp
We tried the strawberry shortcake and key lime pie. We found the pies a bit one note and on the sweet side. Not our favorite and especially considering the prices aren't cheap. Servers were really nice and accommodating to my 3 year old though.

Yelp
Every time Winston Pies delivers!!! I've been so many times and each piece of pie I loved. Also nice to have the seasonal pies to do a little switch up. Love that they ship too! Gunna ship some to my family for the holidays :)

Yelp
Winston Pies is spectacular. I've been once in person and have since discovered it delivers through the apps, and now I know I can get delicious pie brought to my house at any time for the indulgent sum of $9 a slice plus before the various taxes, fees, and gratuities. An expensive but ultimately wonderful discovery. The shop is cute, but I don't remember it being the kind of place where you linger at a table (though it does seem like there are a few tables if that's what you want). It's small, with a long counter and plenty of pie on display. When I went, there was just one employee present, working the register, and it was easy enough to buy a pie to go. I got the Carolina Classic Cherry Pie that first visit, and it's one of the best pies I've ever had in my life. The flaky, golden-brown crust is packed full of huge whole cherries, dark and juicy. I was excited to eat it again when I ordered dessert for my parents' 40th anniversary dinner, which we ended up having at my house with my two very small children. Pie, at least, made the occasion more festive. We shared one slice each of the Carolina Classic Cherry, the Harvest Apple, the Chocolate Cowgirl, and the Key West Lime, along with a pint of vanilla ice cream, which Winston helpfully provides. Everyone loved the whole spread. The apple pie was classic, pleasingly sweet and touched with cinnamon, and the Chocolate Cowgirl was a rich, fudgy chocolate chess pie with a salty oat crust and a drizzle of caramel. The key lime pie was beautiful, with a bright, tart, smooth filling on a graham cracker crust. I'm happy to live so close to this place and will keep it in mind whenever I want a decadent dessert, especially for a small crowd. I look forward to my next slice of cherry, or really any of those Winston Pies.

Yelp
We found this place on Yelp, took a chance and drove 40 mins before opening time. There was 15 people ahead of us. They baked their pies fresh daily, service was great and swift pies were delicious!

Yelp
$9.63 for a small slice of pie. For the pricing, you'd think that the workers would be more friendly but they looked bored out of their minds and like they wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. I got the key west lime pie to go. I guffawed when I opened the pie box. I was amused at how small the slice was, and how the crumbs were kind of strewn about and it didn't look like an expensive pie. Tastewise, it was more rich than a normal key lime pie and the graham cracker crust is not like any other pie crust, it's like crumbled but stuck together graham cracker crumbs. It was good to try once but is not affordable for regular visits.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been to Winston Pies. I ordered the Chocolate Cowgirl Pie (4 stars). It's as chocolaty and decadent as I remembered with its delicious oat crust. I only recently started to like cherries so I wanted to try the Carolina Classic Cherry Pie (4 stars), which is one of their popular picks. I never had a cherry pie before, and I enjoyed this one. There was a generous amount of filling with sweet and juicy dark cherries in a flaky sugar topped pie crust. I also liked my husband's pick, which was the Mixed Berry Crumble (4 stars). I liked the ratio of the crisp crumble and yummy berries. It was the only gluten free and vegan option. Several businesses come and go on 3rd Street, and I'm glad Wintson Pies is still around when I crave for a slice of pie with 4 star service.

Yelp
(I prefer Brentwood Winston pies.) We arrived late in the evening and they were cutting the pies. I tried chocolate cowgirl, pecan, and mixed berries. But my favorite is strawberry rhubarb pies. It's a small store on 3rd Street. You can Street Park to pick it up quickly. They are not super friendly but Kind people.
google avatar

Yelp
The pies here tasty in the service was friendly. They have a great Friday, there's something for everyone. They're online ordering system and pick up was a breeze. Fresh and tasty, I love that they rotate flavors throughout the year. Great option if you are looking for a sweet treat.

Yelp
I've ordered from Winston pies twice now and it has always been SO PERFECT! I tasted their pies once before at a party and was instantly hooked with not only the flavors but the absolute care and beauty in their pies as well. It is so easy to order pies ahead of time on their website to pick up which made the process quick and easy as I only had to walk in and my pick up time and boom pies! The cherry pie was my standout from here. I've never been a fan of cherry pies but this was just out of this world good. The cherries tasted fresh and not too sweet with none of the artificial cherry taste that I've come to recognize. The crust was thick and buttery and sweet and so so flaky which made it even yummier because my measure of a good pie is in a good crust, and this was the most PERFECT crust I've ever had. I can't wait for the next pie I order from here, I'm hooked!

Yelp
I have been to Winston Pies a couple years ago in Brentwood and was unaware until recently that there was a Winston Pie joint on 3rd Street near where I live. It was high time for pie time and I went over the other evening to see what gluten-free pie offerings they had. I purchased a small whole berry pie with gluten-free crust and a slice of GF southern pecan pie. Once home, I heated up the southern pecan pie, added a little caramel whipping cream and I was transported to the Magnolia café in New Orleans many years ago. This pecan pie was spectacular. The next day I cut a slice of the GF Berry pie and it too was delicious. As far as desserts for people who are celiac or gluten intolerant, pie what is the last item next to cannolis that bakers learn to master. Mr. and Mrs. Winston certainly have found the groove and make a mean gluten-free pie.
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
I ordered the key lime pie, whipped cream & a soy latte via Uber Eats. Everything was 10/10 delicious. They call themselves pie smiths, and they are absolutely this! The key lime pie was perfect in tangy lime flavor, the right level of sweetness and the perfect texture. The graham cracker crust was absolutely delicious. Thick enough, yet light, not too dense or sweet. Perfect combination with the pie filling. Their whipped cream is absolute perfection, rich yet airy and fluffy, and not too sweet. I wasn't expecting a pie place to have perfect coffee, but even their soy latte was amazing. The coffee was delicious! On par with all of the best coffee shops. Even better than some. And the soy milk they made the latte with was high quality, not sweetened like many places, and the perfect texture. Highly recommend! I just realized I said perfect 6 times in this review, haha, accurate!

Yelp
I typically don't like pies and I went back for more. The flavors are great and everything is almost crumbly/decadent as even the employees had a hard time cutting and scooping the pies without it falling off. In all, good flavors. A bit expensive for $7.50 a slice. I would rather have had the smaller pieces (which they didn't have). If you are getting more than 5 slices then buying a whole pie is more worth it. Key Lime Pie**: tart and a typical lemon pie (with a graham crust that I preferred). Get this if you don't like something too sweet Cookies and cream: not my favorite. Ice cream like texture/flavor. I felt like the vanilla flavor came out more than the cookies. Cowgirl chocolate**: fudgy and decadent. Like a brownie. Loved it. Although I would have preferred a graham crust instead of oatmeal. Caramel Twix: crumbly crust, caramel flavor comes out more. I would have preferred a thicker layer of chocolate preferably solid, real caramel, and biscuit-like texture. I guess I missed the texture of a Twix. Didn't love it like the other flavors but it was a nice subtle nod to a Twix. Service and ambience: friendly and cute decor inside. Not much seating inside and currently closed due to COVID. They did bring us an extra seat for outdoor seating. Parking: streets and didn't seem too bad to find parking on Saturday night as most stores nearby were closed by then. COVID precaution: mask and sanitizer

Yelp
First time trying a gourmet pie bakery and Winston's did not disappoint! Preordered a cherry pie for my partner's birthday and it was super easy to order/pickup. The pie crust was very good and the filling wasn't too sweet, which is what we wanted! I will say that personally $75 (after taxes tip etc) is just too much for me when buying a pie, so I don't know when I'll be able to do this again. The actual pie was great, so if price isn't a factor for you, I definitely recommend Winston's!
google avatar

Breeonna F.

Yelp
AMAZING! Amazing pies and such a cute little shop. I've finally tried this place out and want to go back every day! I got the chocolate cowgirl pie and apple pie slices. And boy were they good! My favorite was the chocolate cowgirl pie. It was basically like a brownie in pie form! Ugh so good. The crust was crumbly oat crust and it complimented the chocolate BEAUTIFULLY! If you love chocolate you MUST try it out! 11/10! And the apple pie was pretty good it was just more on the acidic side and had a lemony flavor (which isn't my personally fav). But it was still really good! I can't wait to go back and try out some more of the pies! Definitely a must try place if you LOVE pies!

Lisa O.

Yelp
Their apple pie is hands down the best apple pie I've ever had that wasn't baked by my family or me. The apples are cooked perfectly and nice and tart. The crust is amazing. I love the other pies I have tried as well: the triple berry crumble which is gluten free and the key west lime. They also have these delicious pie bites that are like little pie cookies and come in assorted flavors.

Yelp
3.14 = March 14 is Pi Day! perfect day for Me to write this review :) WINSTON Pies is located on 3rd St in the Beverly Grove area. This pie shop theme is 'southern hospitality for the modern day' written on the mirror wall...homemade pies using local ingredients. Pies are baked locally in Brentwood. When I walked inside, was cordially greeted by the staff. They patiently answered all my questions about ingredients quality and sweetness of each pie. I'm not a fan of overly sweet stuff, and there were a couple of pies that caught my interest, so I purchased the mini versions, had them boxed to enjoy at home. The large pies are about fifty bucks, while the mini pies about eleven bucks. The mini pies can be shared or NOT :) Coffee drinks also offered. Please note this business is cashless and only accepts credit cards or epay. Paper compostable containers used. Limited seating inside and outside. Limited metered street parking. After trying the pies: Key West lime pie and the Carolina cherry pie, both were so yummy. Whether it's Pie Day or any day, definitely Recommend!!

Yelp
I would love to give this place a 5 star review based off price and taste ratio! You pay good price for a better chocolate pie. I came in before Covid and LOVED the cowgirl pie! However, my body did not. I definitely had some sort of reaction, and for some reason I can't find a support email to get in contact with the owners. But if I could have an ingredient list please? I will attach photos. Thank you!!

Yelp
The best pie you'll ever have. Great service, great pie, great location. The pecan pie here is possibly the best thing I've ever eaten. Love this place!

Yelp
This pie is pretty good! I've been searching high and low in Los Angeles for a good pie and this one is the best I've found but it's not perfect. I got a mini apple pie and my bf got a bourbon peach slice. The fillings were great but the crust just wasn't what I wanted. It's more of a soft croissant crust which is good but it wasn't quite flaky enough. Really depends on what you want! My search continues but this pie is on the top of my LA list for now!
google avatar

Morgan M.

Yelp
Haven't been here in ages. Was excited to get key lime pie. Due to holidays they did not have in slices. I opted for a slice of cherry. It was inedible. $10 from stale burnt crust. Absolutely horrible. Not the friendlies staff. Seemed disengaged and miserable. I understand though. Holidays and serving over prices awful pie. Beyond disappointing. Steer clear. Go to Magnolia across the street. Staff is friendlier over there too.
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
Not your usual bakery as their selection was very limited when I walked in and even if I were the only customer in the store and wanted to order a key-lime pie for a birthday to be picked up in a couple of days, I was still made to order on-line! They also could not write happy birthday on the pie, I had to buy a "birthday topper"... those are the only reasons I deducted a star. Their pies though are outstanding. I absolutely love their crust. Since it was my first time there, I bought their pie bites - in apple, chocolate and cherry. They're literally bite size pieces for $2 each, it's a bit pricey but so delicious. When I came back to pick up the key-line pie, I also bought their Raspberry/peach individual pie for $10 - which is better priced than the bites. Wasn't too crazy about the filling, but still it was good. Their West-lime pie $52 was a good size, very silky/creamy overall really good. You can tell there's a lot of love and detail placed on everything they make including their packaging. When you pair their pie with whipped or ice cream it brings it to a whole new wonderful level!!

Yelp
Pie as a pie its 10/10. No doubt the best pie in LA. And that is the only reason I am coming back to this spot on weekly base. Super expensive but it's worth it. I didn't want to leave a comment for a while know because I don't like complaining but I have to do it this time. Hopefully the owner will read it and do something about it SERVICE IS OUTRAGEOUS @winstons. Horrible. No word to describe it. Feels like someone is forcing those young girls to work there. Rude. Not professional. Fake. Disgusting.
google avatar

Laphea C.

Yelp
The pie was really good, large slices too, I could barely finish it. I got the pecan pie, it was the perfect amount of sweet. 10/10

Yelp
Winston Pies has always been one of our favorite shops to pop into. We are a pie family through and through, and when it came time for our wedding we wanted pie, not cake. Winston Pie took great care of us and our guests raved about the apple, chocolate, and GF berry options available.
google avatar

Alexandra N.

Yelp
$20 for two small sized slices, Christ. The only thing I like whipped cream on is pies, I think most of them are complimented by a dollop, but none to be found here. The key lime had a funny after taste and I can't tell if it was refrigerator taste or uncooked egg white taste- either way it was weird. My boyfriend had one of the berry pies (that was gluten free by accident) and he said he didn't care for it either.
google avatar

Liz L.

Yelp
Exceptional pies. I only wish it were closer to where I live. Every time we need to bring something to friends when visiting, we order in advance from Winston's. No one else I know of makes pies like these. The two I go back to again and again are the Cowgirl and the Pecan. I love anything that is gooey and caramelly. The chocolate has to be rich and dark. These pies tick all the boxes. The crusts are buttery and browned to perfection and honestly, the pecan surface looks as if it were done by a mosaics master artist. The pies are so beautiful, it hurts to cut them. Being so rich, a small slice is enough. Make sure you double wrap pies in plastic before refrigerating them. Unless you are going to eat them within 48 hours, don't leave them out as they are so fresh they will get fuzzy. Worth the cost and the effort to get dessert at Winston, believe me. I am an expert pie maker myself so if I am willing to pay these prices for pies I could make myself, they have to be superior. Yum!
google avatar

Taira H.

Yelp
We were supposed to get brunch but ended up stopping here for a quick bite of pie. I'm soooo glad we did because I had just had a ton of Key Lime pie in Key West where it was created and I think this pie beats the rest!! The match green tea was a nice addition but the pie crust is to die for! Absolutely great texture and taste. This is my new spot for my favorite pie.

Yelp
I have been eyeing the cowgirl pie and decided to put an order in! I was also very intrigued by figuring how their pie bites taste like. I ended up ordering 1 dozen of the pie bites in chocolate but changed my mind to half and a half! Best decision! I got half a dozen of chocolate and half a dozen of the blueberry! They are both different but both were good! Would be back for more! The pie bites are great! It's super crispy and I love the crust to filling ratio! I enjoyed the pie bites more than the pies! I would pick these babies up for a party or finger food. They go for $2 a pop and you should reserve them 24 hours in advance! It's the perfect sweet snack. Now, on to the Chocolate cowgirl pie. The chocolate pie will satisfy your chocolate cravings. I took one bite and you get chocolate and fudge all in one bite! I thought it was too rich and sweet for me! Super smart to use a salty oat-crust to balance it out! I loved the oat crust! I wish it was more of a 50/50 ratio but that's wouldn't be a pie! I agree with everyone on the packaging! I love the boxes and my whole order was nicely packed. The customer service was good!

Yelp
Can I just say that I am obsessed with this place? I am always looking for good dessert and this one has become my favorite among the gazillion places in this Neighborhood. They know how to make pies. The crust is so perfectly soft and flaky, they are sweet but not overly sweet... so you can finish a slice and still feel good. My favorite is pecan (gluten free), cherry, and lemon bar pies. They also have apple pie, blueberry , cookie dough, cowboy girl, key lime, funfetti. I love how you can get a slice, a mini pie or a little cookie size little pie. They are all equally delicious. Quality is good, you can taste the real ingredients, the fruit and nuts. Service is friendly. They have coffee and a seating area inside or outside. They have a card you get stamped every time you get a slice and the 10th is free. Love it!

Yelp
Was craving for some sweet pies and came across Winston Pies on Yelp! I ordered two 5" Mini Pies: the Carolina Classic Cherry and Key West Lime. Both were priced at $10 each. I am typically a die-hard apple pie only eater, but was in the mood to explore different flavor profiles. The ordering process is easy and straightforward. You select a pick-up window time, it is reserved for 10 minutes while you're ordering, and pick all the pies your heart desires! Driving to West Hollywood was congested per usual, but not as bad as pre-pandemic times! This storefront only has street parking and luckily, there is a reserved curbside for pick-up. They were two workers present and both were wearing masks. I noticed there were tables full of pick-up orders set aside, so I am assuming it was to minimize contact and streamline the process. My pies had just finished being put together as I walked in, so I picked it up from the countertop. Side note: I also ordered whip cream on the side but unfortunately upon pick-up, a worker told me they were out. The pies were delicious! If you love cherry pie or key lime pie, Winston Pies will surely satisfy your cravings. The cherry pie was sweet and the cherries themselves tasted fresh. It had a sweet glaze and complimented the pie well. The crust of key lime pie was crumbly but moist, which was great! The custard was very creamy, and the sour and sweet flavors blended well together. The pies are a bit pricey but definitely worth it! I highly reccomend coming here if you're in the WeHo area!

Yelp
The cowgirl chocolate is the best pie I have ever had. I have dreamt about it. It's like a fudgy brownie, that isn't overly sweet, with the most perfect slightly salted crispy crust. If you're a chocolate fan you will die for this. Service is fantastic. Prices are a little high, but it's worth it for perfection.

Yelp
First time I went, I had god's cherry pie - a perfect North Carolina treat in crust that was delicious and flakey and buttery and was the highlight instead of the downfall of the dessert. Then I had the mixed berry, which was even better. I came back and the cherry pie wasn't the same - nice that it's not industrial! - and had a mushier consistency- not god's, but still tasty. The lemon pie had lovely curd but I wanted it to be a little more sour - tasted like a lemon bar from my youth, feather than from the Starbucks. Overall a 5-star place, as it's so much better than anything else of its type around.

Yelp
Went for they key lime pie cause im a big fan of the key lime pies. I go crazy for them. It didn't blow me away and I've had better. I wish they put some whipped cream on top of it, I think it would have paired nicely with the pie. If I was more of a pie guy I would return and try some other options.

Yelp
Delicious pies! I particularly loved the midnight cowgirl pie, which is a rich and heavy chocolate pie. The berry pies were quite good too. I'd give it 4.5 stars.

Yelp
Good piece. We had the cherry and the blueberry abs took home the key lime and the pecan. A little pricy, but they have a real homemade taste.

Yelp
I ordered 3 pies for thanksgiving via their website. It was very simple and fast which I appreciate during these COVID times. When I picked up the pies they had "Line1" for those who preordered and "Line2" as regular order. Because parking is mainly street parking, I recommend having a family member drop you off and circle around. The Line moved quickly and it probably took me 5mins to get my pies. All the employees were wearing masks and they have hand sanitizer at the front desk for when you need to sign to confirm your order. I ordered 11" harvest apple pie, mini chocolate cowgirl pie, and mini mixed berry crumble. Had the mini chocolate cowgirl pie on day before thanksgiving and it was delicious. I don't particularly like overly sweet desserts and this pie was not overly sweet with a good mix of thick fudge chocolate and lightly salted crunchy granola crust. The harvest apple was on the sweeter side but still delicious. The filling is a nice applesauce consistency with soft apple chunks and the crust is flaky (even better second time around when you reheat it because it melts the sugar on top). I'm saving the mixed berry crumble for later since I'm currently too full from the 2 slices of harvest apple pie today. Portion-wise the mini pies are good to share between 2 people. My thanksgiving plans was just with my significant other so the 11" pie was too much for one sitting but we definitely have enough for a few days. And who wouldn't want some delicious pie multiple days in a row!!!

Yelp
Strawberry rhubarb is my favorite of all pies and with it being officially summer, I've been on a bit of a pie kick. My husband and I ordered from Winstons and were very pleased with our choices. We added an Harvest Apple as well because you should always order two pies. Well they were both scrumptious! The flavors were on point and better yet the consistency was soft and not chewy. The last thing you want out of a pie is for the fillings to taste like they haven't been fully cooked or that the rhubarb is stringy. These were not. A pint of ice cream topped the order off right. If you have that summer craving for a good pie, then Winston Pies is going to satisfy.

Yelp
Funny. Yelp removed my other review. I'll write it again (more PG) so it doesn't get removed again. PG Version: This place needs to check their employees and their attitude. Prepare yourself for rude workers. The service is so bad, as well as their Brentwood location. Fix your employees attitude. Good thing their pies are good or I'm not sure how else this place would survive.
