"Open since 1983, Wishing Well Shave Ice, which operates out of a white food truck on Kuhio Highway, has long been a staple in Hanalei. More recently, though, it’s taken a fresh, organic turn under new owners—Kauai natives, Jesse Merle Jones and Aamion Goodwin—who have done away with artificially flavored syrups and powders, while still making really tasty, refreshing shave ice. This is also an easy spot to pick up a breakfast acai bowl and cup of coffee."

"From this stationary food truck in Hanalei, find organic syrups and artificial ones, along with fresh fruit and honey toppings. Try the recommended combinations, such as Tropical Bliss — a scoop of macadamia nut ice cream buried under ice soaked with liliko‘i and coconut syrups and topped with papaya chunks and coconut flakes." - Martha Cheng

Wishing Well Shave Ice is a nice spot for a sweet and refreshing treat. The fast and friendly service made my experience enjoyable from start to finish. You have the option to choose between organic or traditional flavors, but you can't mix the two. This allows for a personalized experience, as you can select up to two flavors if you opt for organic and up to three if you prefer traditional. I appreciated the ability to customize my shaved ice to my taste. The shaved ice itself was delicious, as you might expect from a classic Hawaiian treat. The flavors were vibrant and refreshing. While I didn't add ice cream this time, I can see how it would elevate the experience even further. Overall, Wishing Well Shave Ice is a great spot to cool down and indulge in a delicious dessert. With its friendly service, customizable flavors, and high-quality shaved ice, it's definitely worth a visit.

Here is a place that you don't want to miss when visiting the island. If you're hot and looking to cool down, come get a shave ice. They have many tropical flavors to choose from, and they are always cold. There is an excellent sitting area right next to the location if you want to sit down and enjoy your frozen treat. There are also many wild chickens running around with zebra doves. There is also a clothing and cafe store next door if your prefer something else.

For the ultimate shave ice experience on the island, this place is a standout. The shave ice here is truly exceptional, featuring the finest, most delicate ice texture that melts seamlessly in your mouth. It’s a step above the usual, with a consistency that’s hard to beat. The flavor options are impressive, ranging from classic tropical fruits to inventive, mouthwatering blends. Each bite offers a burst of flavor, and the added options like fresh fruit toppings and condensed milk only enhance the indulgence. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting, with a friendly staff that makes the visit even more enjoyable. The highlight of my visit was spotting Ben Stiller enjoying a shave ice, adding a fun, unexpected twist to the experience. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this shave ice spot should be on your must-try list. It’s not just about the quality of the ice and flavors; it’s also about the memorable experiences that come with it. From the perfect treat to the chance of a celebrity sighting, this place truly delivers on all fronts, making it the best shave ice destination on the island.

Wishing Well Shaved Ice was a nice place to stop with the family. They had great shaved ice and plenty of places to sit with your friends and family. Also they have a great clothing store, Slow Yourself Down, and coffee shop. Overall great place to visit!

Pretty good shave ice. It was close to our place too which made it nicer. I liked choosing my own custom shave ice.

A must try! I got the second option for the organic with macadamia ice cream and it was delicious! My son got the ice cream and he liked it but I think it’s overpoweringly sweet so I would not recommend it. The matcha was great too!

Best Shave Ice on island yet that I've had. Definitely get macadamia ice cream base and snowcap. I'll be dreaming about this dessert.

I am typically not a huge fan of shaved ice but I absolutely love Wishing Well’s organic options. I usually go for a lilikoi/guava mix and occasionally spice it up with a scoop of ice cream in the middle. Most days (especially @ peak hours) the line is pretty long, but they typically have a quick turnaround, and the fresh organic flavors are well worth the wait.
