"The Chicago Athletic Association has opened a popup bar collaboration with the Art Institute, called 'Dear Carmencita.' It is based on the museum’s 'John Singer Sargent and Chicago’s Gilded Age' exhibition and serves five cocktails by Paul McGee. The bar is open from 5 p.m. until midnight on Thursdays through Saturdays until August 5." - Daniel Gerzina

The Kitchen is extremely dirty. The chefs tend to leave seafood out on open pans for hours, which is very disgusting. The dishes are never washed correctly at all. Chef Nick uses retaliation against individuals who are sick at work, so very in-genuine & sneaky, just not a good person overall . The entire place is honestly not what it seems. I wouldn’t pay for a membership to drink tap water.

Christian is a jack of all trades but most importantly he makes a visit her personable Remember you don’t go to the bar. You go to the bartender/server. Definitely coming back

This review is specifically for the aquatics department of the WAC. Jared and his team are, hands down, the best. I’ve been taking adult swim lessons for 5 months now and I went from being scared of the water to almost being a 2 stroke swimmer. Jared is a great instructor and really understands each individuals needs. The lifeguards are always very friendly as well. I couldn’t recommend them more!

I love it because we have Stradivari concerts there periodically. Its simply the most wonderful sound in the world, private with a beautiful setting, enjoy it with a glass of wine... One of the best things in the world.

This was Supposed to be a place for Women. The Suffergets wouldn’t be Proud…….Cause Men are STILL in charge (General Manager=MAN) Even at the Womens Athletic Club prejudice and disparity is still here in 2022. They are Racist to the fact of the Staff. Nothing has changed for Women…….Why are ALL the reviews from Men? It’s supposed to be a Women’s Club!!!!

Bertha Palmer a Chicago institution in her own right was a founder of this club at the turn of the last century. She said she did it because "she couldn't get enough exercise shopping the floors of Marshall Fields." Very clubby, old money institution with a Fazioli concert grand in the grand parlor. Thats a $350,000 piano. Crowd here very heavy on the arts as well as the athletic side.

Attended the International Dinner with Chef Joho. Food was delicious. The ambience of the place was wonderful and it is well maintained.

The acoustics in the 7th floor performance space were utterly wonderful, perfect for a chamber music performance!

Delicious lunch with two members there. Wonderful service! This is a very unique experience.

Yelp
I love these little clubs all over the city, and their unique history. My aunt was a member of this club when she lived across the street from it and down the block a little. This was where my mom learned to dance like a proper lady, and to identify which utensil was appropriate for the occasion during a meal. I was invited to a tea and lunch by a friend, and I was a little nervous, not being a woman and entering the Woman's Athletic Club. I have a reciprocal membership here, but was afraid to set foot in here alone. Tea was good, as far as tea can get, I suppose. I think there is a formality and ceremony that I overlooked, but I've attended Japanese tea sessions, which can't really be that different. But, check this place out, elegant without being pretentious, and I started to feel relaxed even before I dropped my salad fork, or was that the dinner fork that fell?

Yelp
I attended an event at this fancy, shmancy spot. :) I kid, but it truly was elegant, and in a fantastic location on Michigan Ave. You could tell that the staff was well prepared for events such as the one I attended - from the door attendant to the elevator attendant to the servers, everyone did a fantastic job and made attendees feel more than welcome. We were in a smaller room, but I was able to have a quick peek around and spotted some beautiful spaces. It would make a great location for all sorts of events.

Yelp
Really high end women's club, A bit on the pretentious side, but the food is really classy and scrumptious.

Yelp
Wow, what a swanky luxurious place. I loved having a chance to see inside this venerable club. I am obviously not a member but I know a wonderful lady who is. She had a working luncheon here for a writing group. We had a delicious salad with mouth watering rolls. To finish it off there were cookies and coffee. I had to try several purely for research for this review. Yes, they were out of this world. The ladies room was elegant, the elevator operators a nostalgic look at the past and the wi fi strong. A great combination! If you ever get an invitation to cross the threshold. If you ever join, invite me!

Yelp
My sister hosted a tea in celebration of another sister in the Presidents Room at the Woman's Athletic Club. It was a wonderful experience; the space was both elegant and comfortable. The food received 5 stars from everyone - from the egg salad and cucumber finger sandwiches, the chicken salad puffs to the delectible and unique desserts. The staff were equally impressive and graciously attentive to every detail. A wonderful afternoon was had by all. A true oasis amid the bustle of Michigan Avenue.

Yelp
My wife is doing a program @ WAC. They couldn't be more accommodating. WAC has a long history in Chicago.
